Today we have had a big caching trip to Port Sorrel looking for as many caches as we could find in my quest to get to our next milestone by the end of November. Weve got no chance but definitely have no chance if we dont even try. As most caches required shanks pony our numbers were limited to around 30 finds for the day along with 3 dnf. Our primary focus to begin with was the 4 low tide caches all of which were successfully found. We then spent a while at Squeaking Point before a walk along the main trail near Hawley Beach. Thanks mainly to Spreyton and Angus88 for the bulk of our finds and of course to all the other hiders for adding enjoyment to our day. I walked 20,000 steps and 15km.After a while at the wrong stump I honed in on the right stump and once at the correct elevation the cache was found. TFTC
This one was fun, a bit of work to get to it with a little bush bash and climb. TFTC
More pretty little flowers. After wearing GeoCleo out walking, swimming and running around the coastline finding all the Squeaking Point Track caches, I left her to have a nap in the back of the Ute while I wandered off into the bush to find these caches.TFTC Spreyton22Keep smiling
While visiting the area today we targeted the caches in the conservation area here.
It was an enjoyable bushwalk and didn't take too long to get around them all.
Found this one easily.

It’s good to see this cache has parking coordinates when I was planning to come to this cache I started on the opposite side of the reserve! The coordinates for this cache seemed to be a little off but of course the CO picked the snakier cache! A little climbing and soon enough I had cache in hand! Thanks for the find.
A quick find by Mrs TiedyeSmileys while Mr TiedyeSmileys inspected the nearby information sign

Out and about caching with all the Rafas for our holidays TFTC TNLN log dry, an easy find at GZ.
Thanks for the cache Spreyton22.
RLD4963, the two GeoGSP's and I were visiting Port Sorell for a few days r&r. This is another reserve which had had half the number of caches last time we visited Port Sorell, so today we were back to find the new ones.
All the ones we found today were straightforward finds.

The plan for today was to get the kayaks out but the tide wasn't right so we decided on another bike ride to Squeaking Point to grab some more caches.
We have 9 left to do in that area but today targeted the 5 in the Port Sorell Conservation area.
This was the first one attempted and after finding the easiest way to access it we soon had the cache in hand.
Retrieving the log sheet was a bit hard with the Yooshi jammed in there, but we managed it.
Was fairly wary of snakes in this area on a rare warm day, but didn't see one all day.
Thanks.

The clue helped with this one as our GPS had other ideas. TFTC!

We decided to use a leave day to do some caching in the Squeaking Point area after doing some of the Port Sorell caches recently. A beautiful day for strolling around in the bush, not too hot. We saw a few other people out and about as well, nice to see that these tracks get used. This cache was a quick find with the aid of accurate coordinates. TFTC
Spotted a likely spot for a hide and headed there and was rewarded with a easy find. All good. Tftc
Easy quick find, this zone is a lot quieter than the beach which should speed things up a bit TFTC

Today we are heading to the Port Sorrell area to collect many of the newish caches that have been placed in recent times.
Obviously a spot popular with dog walkers too. We had to be a bit more stealth in locating and signing this cache. TFTC

Another quick find. Thank you for placing these caches which have brought me to this great place to have a walk.
Spent the night in Port Sorell on our quick trip around Tassie. Beautiful spot, will have to return. Stopped in to grab a quick cache before heading to Launceston. All good here. Tftc
With Easter off from work, it was a good opportunity to try and close the gap on my target for the year. 500 finds for the year is the target, and this run brought me up to 230 odd, so only 3 months in I am on track for this target.
The highlight (and hardest part of this day) was the walk out to the cache Lieu-Pine-Ner at Point Sorell. The walk was challenging due to the number of rocks being very uneven. I was hoping 2 hours, but in the end it took 3 hours. Geo Kid O was still going strong at the end, but it had taxed me.
Thank you for placing this cache and maintaining it.
TFTC - easy find, but high up

Out and about caching with Tassie Trekkers around Port Sorell, Squeaking Point, Shearwater and Hawley area and this was one that was targetted. A nice day for a wander even though it was very windy. TFTC
Out and about caching with whitewebbs on a windy autumn day and found your cache along the way.
Cache and contents were in good condition.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

After aborting the search fora couple of caches whilst in Launceston earlier this week, we needed to satisfy the urge to collect caches somewhere somehow. The GeoApp was doing stupid things in L'ton, and continued to do so here as well. So flying blind with just the map working, we managed this one and three others in the area. TFTC Spreyton22
Thank you for the cache from GeoMaggie and her sidekick Bonnie in company today with Angus88. Quick easy find
As she returned to the track a local walker came by. When she found out that Mrs y'stassie wasn't a local she explained that this area was a particularly good native orchid habitat very similar to the Henry Somerset Reserve on the Railton Road but with a wider variety of orchids. After quite a long chat she went on her way and Mrs y'stassie made her way towards #08.
As she closed in on the hide her GPS had GZ in the centre of the track. She looked around and spotted a likely object. After doing her usual circuit without spotting a likely hide she stated to look more closely. Something caught her eye in the third place she looked and after removing a little covering material she spotted a Spreyton22 container. Another blank log sheet and a second {FTF} at 17:50. On checking she noticed her GPS was indicating she was 9m from the published coordinates.
Thanks for this addition to this series of caches Spreyton22. We will have to come back later in the year when the orchids are flowering.
