Today we have had a big caching trip to Port Sorrel looking for as many caches as we could find in my quest to get to our next milestone by the end of November. Weve got no chance but definitely have no chance if we dont even try. As most caches required shanks pony our numbers were limited to around 30 finds for the day along with 3 dnf. Our primary focus to begin with was the 4 low tide caches all of which were successfully found. We then spent a while at Squeaking Point before a walk along the main trail near Hawley Beach. Thanks mainly to Spreyton and Angus88 for the bulk of our finds and of course to all the other hiders for adding enjoyment to our day. I walked 20,000 steps and 15km.Found in obvious spot TFTC
A bunch of parrots were choreography in the tree above its as we signed the logTFTC
I would have liked to have seen some other tiny orchids but was happy with these pink ones. After wearing GeoCleo out walking, swimming and running around the coastline finding all the Squeaking Point Track caches, I left her to have a nap in the back of the Ute while I wandered off into the bush to find these caches.TFTC Spreyton22Keep smiling
Was looking straight at me! Lol, should have gone to spec savers! Haha, thanks for placing this trail for us all to enjoy. Tftc
While visiting the area today we targeted the caches in the conservation area here.
It was an enjoyable bushwalk and didn't take too long to get around them all.
Found this one easily.

It’s nice to find these quickly and we are enjoying the walk around the reserve. TFTC
Another quick find! A few of theses caches on this walk has been left out in the open so I’ve been making sure to cover them up with some bark! Including this one.
Cache is in good condition thanks for the find!

Out and about caching with all the Rafas for our holidays TFTC TNLN log dry, an easy find at GZ.
Thanks for the cache Spreyton22.
RLD4963, the two GeoGSP's and I were visiting Port Sorell for a few days r&r. This is another reserve which had had half the number of caches last time we visited Port Sorell, so today we were back to find the new ones.
All the ones we found today were straightforward finds.

We usually do a couple of bike rides a year from our campsite at Port Sorell to Squeaking Point. The aim is to have happy hour out there at the jetty and then ride back.
Until a couple of days ago we had always ridden the same track to get there [the one off the end of Shannon Drive]. But on that occasion we actually rode back a different way and passed #9,8 and 3. So when heading there to cache today we knew exactly where we needed to go.
No clue needed here and the cache was exactly where we predicted it would be. Did disturb a very large swarm of tiny flies retrieving it but they soon settled back in to their hiding place.
Thanks.

We decided to use a leave day to do some caching in the Squeaking Point area after doing some of the Port Sorell caches recently. A beautiful day for strolling around in the bush, not too hot. We saw a few other people out and about as well, nice to see that these tracks get used. This cache was a quick find with the aid of accurate coordinates. TFTC
Another quick easy find the last for the day. We took a scout (his facial expression was so cool he made us laugh). We left four lion pencil toppers. We had been through here before but I didn’t realise there were so many connecting paths.
Hi Spreyton22...out nabbing a few caches in the Squeaking Pt area with 4paws(Murder) in tow.
Didn't take long to reach gz...last find for the day as the other cache was blocked by a very high tide.
An easy find here with cache in top nick.
Many tftc..much appreciated...cheers ST.

Today we are heading to the Port Sorrell area to collect many of the newish caches that have been placed in recent times.
Gps played up a little again and we were at the wrong tree, realising our mistake we quickly adjusted and located the cache. TFTC

Another quick find. Thank you for placing these caches which have brought me to this great place to have a walk.
With Easter off from work, it was a good opportunity to try and close the gap on my target for the year. 500 finds for the year is the target, and this run brought me up to 230 odd, so only 3 months in I am on track for this target.
The highlight (and hardest part of this day) was the walk out to the cache Lieu-Pine-Ner at Point Sorell. The walk was challenging due to the number of rocks being very uneven. I was hoping 2 hours, but in the end it took 3 hours. Geo Kid O was still going strong at the end, but it had taxed me.
Thank you for placing this cache and maintaining it.
Wandered up to the cache location, and found the cache quickly

Out and about caching with Tassie Trekkers around Port Sorell, Squeaking Point, Shearwater and Hawley area and this was one that was targetted. A nice day for a wander even though it was very windy. TFTC
Out and about caching with whitewebbs on a windy autumn day and found your cache along the way.
Cache and contents were in good condition.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

After aborting the search for a couple of caches whilst in Launceston earlier this week, we needed to satisfy the urge to collect caches somewhere somehow. The GeoApp was doing stupid things in L'ton, and continued to do so here as well. So flying blind with just the map working, we managed this one and three others close by. TFTC Spreyton22. All okay here.
Thank you for the cache from GeoMaggie and her sidekick Bonnie in company today with Angus88. Lovely walking area. Finished the series
Obviously a very lovely walking area as we managed to overstep the location by no less than 110 m. Came back to very accurate coordinates and an easy find. Angus88 is out with GeoMaggie2 today so we have four GeoWesties in tow,. Found this one on a day out from Port Sorell where were are camping for a while. We are working on finding all northern Tasmanian caches. Thankis to the CO for this one.
After finding #3 in the series Mrs y'stassie continued down the track. it is a very pleasant walking area with some tall tree, large stumps, beautiful green medium and small shrubs an some very pretty ground cover plants. Most of the latter have finished flowering but there were a few straw flowers and a very nice yellow pea flower. The fauna was still keeping low during the warmer part of the day.
Her GPS took Mrs y'stassie straight to a logical hiding place but initially she found nothing. She expanded her search but was still empty handed. So back to the original spot she went. Her GPS was happy indicating she was 1-2 m away. A more careful search was carried out and here, tucked away was a very well hidden container. To her delight the log sheet was blank giving us a {FTF} at 17:35.
Thanks for this addition to the Port Sorell Conservation Area caches Spreyton22. There are certainly plenty of tracks to explore in this piece of bushland.
