Well after reading about sianmichal's find I thought I would come and see if I could locate this cache. I have found it. It's alive! However it has been removed and taken for observation to the "Geof cache hospital". The container was cracked and a bit wet but some of the swaps are OK and most importantly the log book is in very very good condition.
Aussie Phantom if you are still out there could you contact me. If I hear nothing after a month I may see if I can restore and reactivate the cache in a nearby location. Even if I do hear nothing and reactivate the cache you are welcome to return to the game and claim this cache at any time.
Cheers Geof

Hi from a 'geomuggle???
I accidently found this today and decided to come home and look this site up. I believe it may have been moved from it's original location as it was not under a log as previously described and when i have opened it it seems no one has written in the log book since January 2002!! we took some marbles and left a chain and put it back amongst the bracken I found it in. However it may be a good idea to check it ( the owner) as the lid is now cracked. Thanks, it was an unusual find on a day out walking!

This was my second attempt at this cache my 1st attempt was last week, the sun was hot and one look at the steep hill and I was back in my car in a flash. This morning I decided to tackle it early while it was nice and cool. My GPS took me right to the spot where it was suppose to be but found nothing. I stayed for about an hour and a half in case I got things wrong and searched heaps of places. Didn't fancy coming back again. Spoke to Muzza tonight and he told me where the cache was suppose to be. But the only thing there is a log that looks as if someone had broken up. Phantom would you mind checking sometime if this cache still exist?
Sometimes I can't see a cache until I trip over it so it could be me!!!!

Found by Ray and Maya at 5:50 PM on the 12th of January 2003.
What a climb on such a hot day, and regrettably we had the same on the return, as we approached the car. We took a sewing kit and left a collection of tie straps. Great views, thanks, from The Nomads.

Phound this one at around 12:00 noon with Alan-san after he did my MMM nearby. I spotted this one on the way to GZ a phew metres away. I think my eye just happened to spot a bit of it. I took the padlock and left some marbles.
Thanks, Aussie Phantom, for the cache. Nice views too!

What a day out with Muzza! We phound the cache at 12pm, and can report all is well. I swapped the wrapping paper for a golf ball. Thanks for the chance to check out the great views.
Found after a rather exhausting climb (with many rests) at the end of a long days caching. Great views and fortunately no snakes. Nothing exchanged. Greg and Bev
An easy find for Quasar and Skyfox, once we got there. The hills are a bit steep, but I can't talk, since I planted Scottish Hillside. I lived in this area for many years and never came up here, so thanks Phantom. We came in from Glenfern Rd. It's much shorter than Wellington Rd. Took a gold pen and left a pack of Crown Casino cards.
It was Melbourne Cup Day in Australia, which means a public holiday for Melbournians! A perfrect excuse for a bit of Geocaching. We set off around 1pm and decided that the best approach was from Wellington rd. We hiked north for about an hour and then up a very large hill. Quite a climb for the kids!
The cache was found easily (after we cheated by decripting the hints:). Great view and an exited find by our children. By the way, we found the cache at exactly 3:10pm, just as the Melbourne Cup was starting!
my son Ben (5yr) took the wrist compass, and my daughter Talia (6yr) took the red candle. we left a gold pen and two alkaline batteries.
Thanks for the cache. We really enjoyed the excercise!

Found 15:55, after going cross country from MMM. Biggles Bear wished he hadn't after reading the first log left by a reptile expert, who was there researching the breeding habits of the Copper Head snakes that reside in this area. Needless to say a potentially less snakey route out was found.
Took crepe bandage, thoughtfully left by aforementioned expert and left sewing kit from the Hyatt Hotel.

Unfortunately, a pair of Americans couldn't find it on an October 21 attempt. The standard mapping sites that the Geocaching website points to couldn't help us, here, so we didn't really know where to start. We went to the appropriate park, but started at the main picnic/parking area, not knowing where else to start and being a bit nervous about driving around too much looking for someplace better (without knowing the area and being inexperienced at driving on the left side of the road).
It's actually quite a hike from down there towards the cache location when following the main trails. Took us something like an hour and forty five minutes before we gave up and turned around (we had to be somewhere else that afternoon). We wound up crossing the main road (which is quite busy) that cuts through the north section of the park, so as a bit of a hint to future cachers - definitely start on the northern side, if you know where to park.
On our way back, though, we found a shortcut (an unsealed road type of track I assume is used for park maintenance) that got us back to our car in half the time it took to get out.
On the plus side, we did see a very large kangaroo in the woods during the hike in, quite close to us!

Phound by Mary & David at 1310. Phirst cachers there but not phirst in the logbook. 'CB', a student with an interest in reptiles, was there on 3 Oct according to his log entry and left a bandage for the cache. He thought the idea of caching was great but doesn't have a GPSr. The coords were just phine and the cache was brimming with phabulous goodies. The approach phrom the north took phorty phour minutes for this pair of over-phifty-phives. Check out the pheral Phorget-me-nots everywhere. We took a little dominoes set and left a pack of tissue paper and some sticky notes. Thanks to Aussie Phantom, and now off to VW Barge.
