16-Jul-22
Out and about getting some fresh air and grabbing a few smiley's. Lake Coogee has been on the radar for a while now. Just hope the rain stays away. This one took a little athleticism and had to go the whole way round before spotting it. Clever camo. TFTC

29-Jun-22
A nice wintry morning for a fresh walk around the lovely lake picking up smileys in this series and what a great enjoyable run of caches it is! This is one I found after looking around for a while and then bingo I spotted it. The log is full and I signed at the top above the first finders. Thanks Gumnut6160 for all the work put into creating the series. Fav for this hide.

19-Jun-22
Searched high and low. Maybe better luck next time

15-Jun-22
The last in a trio of lunchtime grabs for me and I completely overlooked the terrain rating. As a result, tracking the cache down took longer than it should have. Twisted After ruling out quite a few options, I read through some of the previous logs and got a snippet of very important information. Right, time to adjust the search pattern it seems. [^]

With that, I started a methodical scan and eventually found what I was looking for. Interestingly, you can see it from the right angle when you know where to look. Wink

I left my mark in the log, returned the cache as found and it was time to call it. Back to the grindstone... Sad

Cheers Gumnut6160.

14-Jun-22
This one took a while, even though we knew what we were looking for.

Headed out to Lake Coogee to complete the caches out here...what a perfect winters day for caching. Not many people out so no need to worry about being spotted.

TFTC Gumnut6160 Thanks for bringing us out for a nice walk around a lovely lake!

11th out of 19 finds and 1 DNF

Not an easy find, we took a long time searching high and low and after reading previous posts (and geo-hubby about to give up), decided to try the Lebron James approach....a photo from a previous post was also a massive help!

26-May-22
Found cache in good condition. Took a while to locate this one
Thank you.

14-May-22
Tall guy found this one after The Turdlers hat blew off into the surrounding scrub. It’s a little windy out on the viewing deck today. What a lovely spot to bring us to. Thank you so much!

17-Apr-22
Enjoyed a very nice walk around the lake today, very peaceful. Seems like some other cachers might have been on parts of the trail earlier but no-one seen on my walk. All caches were nice quick finds, with the exception of #1 (MIA) and #17 (DNF). Extra log notes added where appropriate. Thanks for bringing me here today, really enjoyed this series.

The lake was looking beautiful today, and this was the perfect spot to appreciate the view. Thankfully no-one else around as I would surely have attracted attention with my antics here! After checking a few spots I noticed another possible location perhaps more fitting with the T rating. A quick check and bingo - another neat hide. Have a fave point for the cache and location, loved both Smile TFTC

31-Mar-22
A reasonably quick find on a lovely walk. Not sure that my spinal surgeon would like to have seen me searching for this one. TFTC.

03-Feb-22
This took us so long! We even touched that exact spot when we first started looking!! Sneaky!

03-Feb-22
Spent way too long here and of course it was in the first place we looked!

06-Jan-22
Took quite a bit of time to finally get our hands on this cache.
Checked the obvious places first and then slowly started looking all around the platform.
With nothing obvious sticking out I changed my approach and finally spotted the sneaky cache in its spot.

All the junior members of the team were in vacation care today so I arranged with SirFancy to head out for a caching trip.
The plan was to avoid the heat of the day and get going in the early morning, as is usually the way it took a bit longer to get started and a calm and cloudless day had the temperature rising quickly.
Luckily for us the walk along the paths of Lake Coogee has lots of tree cover that helped keep us relatively cool.
We had a great morning out collecting 15 finds and 0 DNF’s before heading home to enjoy the cricket.

Thanks Gumnut6160 for placing Lake Coogee 09 for me and others to find.
I added my name to the log at 09:56 on 6/1/22.
This is find number 3853 for me.

06-Jan-22
Headed out with Cirrus_WA today to get some caches around lake Coogee, we happily found 15 today without any DNF’s. Caching is always a good motivator for a long walk.

This is my 1265 find.
Thank you Gumnut6160 for placing and maintaining this cache.

Geology rocks but Geography is where it’s at!

29-Sep-21
Staying close to home and picking off a few caches along the way. Today I walked the southern shores of Lake Coogee!

Used my head and thought about the high T rating.

Gumnut6160, Morgo the geo found Lake Coogee 09 today. Thanks for placing and maintaining

12-Sep-21
I walked around the lake to check on the caches due to the large amount of rain and reports or flooding.
The paths in this southern side are under water for large stretches.
You can pass through by taking off your shoes (in some areas it’s 20cm deep) or by balancing and walking along the pipes.
I advise there is a temporary increase to the T rating to about 3 in the paths leading up to this cache.
Cache itself is unaffected by the water.

10-Sep-21
Out with ILT on a rain free morning. Thought we’d had the brunt of wet weather down south but we have found Perth and suburbs are just as sodden. Sections of the track here are under water but this cache ok. Thanks gumnut6160

10-Sep-21
Out and about with richlink on a beautiful spring day. Some tracks were flooded but we were able to find most of the caches. Thanks Gumnut6160.

01-Jul-21
After abit of searching we finally found it TFTC

12-Jun-21
Took a while to find but managed. Glad I didn't give up. Tftc

07-Jun-21
A nice quick find after taking the T rating into account!

We decided to get out of the house and find some caches in this area. This cache was one we found on our adventure today. Cheers and TFTC.

G’day there Gumnut6160, I was in this area today and found your cache Lake Coogee 09 GC96MF2. I added my name to the log book at 8:04 am on 7 June 2021. A huge thanks to you for placing this cache here for us (and others) to find!

TFTC, took a bit of time but got it!!

20-May-21
Found it. TFTC gumnut6160. Came for a ride round the lake, thought I might do a few of these cache’s on the way. This one took far too long.

11-May-21
We have travelled from Portland Victoria across to WA to see our daughter.

We are the victims of what we have now learned was unleaded petrol being added to the diesel tanks at Eucla. Many vehicles broke down across the Nullabor and we were one of the early ones.
As a result our car has been towed to Perth (from Cocklebiddy via Norseman and then Kalgoorlie)

We have now rescued our bikes from the car which they have decided to fix by - this will mean another 2 weeks in Perth - luckily our daughter has not expressed a desire for us to leave her house. Yet.
So we rode from Beeliar to do the C10 and Lake Coogee series. Both were lovely rides but we had one DNF on each.

Thanks for showing us this part of the world Gumnut6160

So, after seeing almost no one, we arrive and the dreaded cyclist is doing his stretches at GZ. No mask! He didn’t seem keen to move so we went to the next cache and I ran back once we noticed him leave, to sign the log. Another neat camo for this location. Also took the obligatory photo. Thanks.

21-Apr-21
What a mission. I completed the rest of the series over two days. The day I was here a couple of cyclists were comfy at GZ so I skipped it and grabbed the rest of the series.
A week later I dropped by to grab this one. I saw three quendas on my walk in but as I was 20m from the entry another cyclist rounded the bend, pulled in and made himself at home.
GRRR...
3rd time today, all quiet but the long birds. Quick find and now the series is complete.

18-Apr-21
There use to be a cache here that was last found in 2017. I recall taking shelter here in pouring rain. That cache was not as well hidden as this somewhat cheeky one. Favourite point for the challenge and the series which offers a range of containers. TFTC.

16-Apr-21
Nice little hide. Fluked it and found it pretty quickly.

TFTC

14-Apr-21
We arrived at GZ at the same time as a couple walking their dogs. We explained what we were doing and they helped with the search. This one took us a long time to find. Very sneaky. Thanks.

02-Apr-21
Find 19 of 30 with 2 DNFs on a gentle bike ride from North Coogee, out to Lake Coogee and back via Woodman Point. Enjoyed a snorkel around the Omeo wreck afterwards to cool off. Many thanks to Gumnut6160 and Cravo10 for providing most of our Good Friday entertainment with some quality caches all the way round.

The longest search till this point. Took a while to discount other levels but then it was quickly spotted. Good camo.

TFTC Gumnut6160!

31-Mar-21
This one took longer than expected due to a push biker interrupting us & doing his exercises. another nice camo & a great view of the lake. TFTC

31-Mar-21
TFTC Gumnut6160. Another nicely placed cache. Took a while to find, thanks to the muggle. Jimmytherat with Noelle04

26-Mar-21
Stop work a little bit earlier just to finish of these caches on this side of the lake, took a bit of searching i gave up and continued with the other caches then came back to this one and started to look where I should have done in the first place, very sneaky. TFTH SL.

25-Mar-21
I saw all these caches pop up a couple of weeks ago but my shifts didn't give me a chance to get out here. I had the the day off today so I planned to do my morning run around the lake even it is a little shorter than my usual run.
It was a perfect autumn morning. Cool and fresh with out a breeze that meant the lake was like a mirror. It was the perfect picture with the sun just starting to rise.
I was searching for ages for this one before I spotted something different that turned out to be the cache.

TFTC Gumnut6160

21-Mar-21
We set off early as it promises to be a scorcher today. Sat a while & enjoyed the view here. TFTC gumnut6160

Returned today to finish off
this series. Great walk/cycle paths in a lovely area.
Mr fratra's natural attribute came in handy here.

TFTC Gumnut6160 this is find #11369 for us.

14-Mar-21
Decided to go for a walk and pick up some of these new caches that got published last night. A few tricky hides but all were eventually found. TFTC Gumnut6160

14-Mar-21
I left the area next Lake Coogee just 10 minutes before the publishing of these caches last night, and didn't notice until I finally got home. So, following a relaxing morning, I took the bike out on the back of the car to tackle these caches. There was a nice variety of caches, which was greatly appreciated.

A nice quick find here. Which was rather surprising. I enjoyed a rest after finding the cache, with a light breeze blowing an a nice shady bench. Cheers Gumnut6160! Big Grin

Have been thinking it would be good to add a series around this lake, ticks all the boxes for me, sealed paths, wildlife, rather peaceful in its own way. I was beaten to the placement and not at all upset, a great range of containers and hide types so thanks for adding these caches to be found.

13-Mar-21
The notifications of this series didn't arrive until Chwiliwr noticed them on the website some 20 minutes after publication. We got ready and went for a drive. We got diverted by some roadworks so didn't start on the east side as we intended but on the south west side after Chwiliwr found a 4WD track over the waste land.

From this cache we then walked clockwise around the lake picking up a few firsts along the way and one DNF.

Surprisingly a blank log here so joint *FTF* with Chwiliwr. Log signed and cache returned as found.

Thanks Gumut6160 for placing these caches for us to find.

13-Mar-21
I was checking the website and noticed that the total numbers had gone up quite a few and realised that this series had been published about 20 minutes earlier so advised the Better Half and off we went. The roadworks stopped us going the way we had planned so we started at number 7 instead and then walked clockwise around the lake.

Blank log here so joint *FTF* with the Better Half. Log signed and cache returned as found.

Thanks Gumut6160 for placing these caches for us to find.

13-Mar-21
A quick find here as we continued around the lake. Thanks for the new series.
