Day 4: The Road to Balclutha Todays agenda was to get down to Balclutha where we are staying on the way to the Catlins. The route on the beautiful day took us through the beautiful Central Otago and Teviot regions, where we took in the landscapes and found quite a few caches along the way. It was a long drive but we really enjoyed the little highlights along the way thanks to the ALs and caches placed by everyone. (End of the cut and paste bit)Heres the specific log for this cache: A slightly tricky GZ to manoeuvre to given the busyness of the SH, but with ample warning, the driver/wife pulled it off. This was a nice quick one, though I had the wrong idea initially. After rejecting them with a quick frisk, the cache was soon found. TFTC!

Family getaway up to our old stomping ground in Christchurch.Day 1. Home to Omarama. Had a community newsletter to finish so left home about midday. Not sure if the first day of daylight savings helped or not. Not many to get today cos I've travelled this road a fair bit.Didnt look low enough, so Saethwr who is driving, got out of the car which meant I saw it as soon as her feet touched the ground. Thanks for the cache Natalie247# 3751 24 September 2023 3:44 pm

A nice quick find thanks.

Ms_KR and I are on a wee South Island break. Today we headed up the Clutha from Kaitangata, and on up to Alexandra. Not too many people drive the road up to Beaumont, and the road has been sealed since we last drove it 25 or so years ago. A nice day for it too, with only a few light showers.

Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Heading down to the south coast track grabbing a few p and g's along the way without getting to wet.

We need to do a quick roadie to grab Mrs fraggle some more clothes and other stuff so to day we went up and over instead of around . It was a beautiful day and the views from the top were stunning. It been a while since I have driven this road . I have been past and around this corner to many time to remember and all ways in between the lined .
Ooooo how this brings back memories from the years I lived in Alex. See the area again.
My be one day this will be my home again but today we just visit. And on our way home tomorrow.

Getting out and about in to the out doors is my happy place so any excuse to go caching.

Life is short. Live one foot step at a time.Never say" I'm gonna "- Just do it!!

Geocaching at Level 2

19-Aug-21
As the country enters Level 4 (lockdown), https://covid19.govt.nz

It is strongly recommend that whilst we go for a walk for exercise, we need to take care on shared surfaces and geocaching should not be done at this time; https://wiki.groundspeak.com/display/GEO/New+Zealand

To remove temptation, I am disabling this cache and ask kindly that you do not find this cache during lockdown.

Remember there is more than physically finding a cache, there are plenty of puzzle caches you can do at home. Or if you live near a multi you can walk the trail and save the find for another day. For more info or connect with wider community see Geocaching New Zealand on Facebook.

Stay home, stay safe and save lives.
