Finally finished the whole series today! This has been a few months in the making with various trips here and there. Thanks for the great series
*26 Oct 2024, Found @5:12PM, Find # 3973.*A nice day to take the bike out on this trail. Quick find off the track. **Thanks to crank1 for placing this cache.**
Easy find cheers. We are out doing this trail and hope to complete it today. Thanks. First one and the pens already gone. We have a texter it will do. W8CA
Perfect weather for a day cache adventuring with doddlingalong. Today, meandering around the parks of Narre Warren. TFTC.
Today, I headed out on a geocaching adventure with crustyvarmint. and decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather by riding our ebikes. The trails were in excellent condition, making for a smooth and enjoyable journey.we found most of the caches relatively quickly, However, a few caches proved to be more challenging, hiding just out of view. When we finally uncovered them, we couldn't help but laugh at how obvious they seemed once found. It was like they had been playing a game of hide and seek with us!The ride along the River Gum Creek was truly pleasant, and Im grateful to Crank1 for creating this series. Without it, I might never have discovered these scenic trails and the joy of exploring them on an ebike. It was a memorable day, filled with discovery, fresh air, and good company.
Today I went out caching with Juzzmagic. We were targeting the River Gum Creek series and, with the excellent weather, we rode our ebikes, and had a successful day. Most were found quite quickly, but some took longer. Once discovered, however, it was hard to understand why they had eluded us.Thanks for your work in this area, Crank1. Without this series I wouldnt have experienced the pleasant ride along these trails.
Out caching with Riply1602 for their first dabble in caching. Nice little trail to follow. Tftc!
Thanks crank1. Beautiful King's birthday to be out in Hampton Park. TFTC. Giddy up
In a bit of a change I chose to go down south and a little east for my walk today. Given that I was on a Costco run it made sense to travel a little further to access this half-completed series. I'd like to say I completed the other half but the reality was that I had ~2 hours of daylight left when I arrived at the car park and I find that either I immediately find this CO's caches or it's an exercise in frustration. There doesn't seem to be a halfway point for me. On the positive side it just means that I'll have to revisit River Gum Reserve and take a less interrupted walk around its perimeter. My logs will include this standard blurb and then a comment or two about each cache separated from this blurb by a dividing line. Many thanks to crank1 for putting these out and maintaining them over the years. I assume the bike gets a decent amount of use to those ends.---The cache has indeed been replaced and is ready for finding. Just glad that happened before I chose to have a walk.
Found cable tie in tree only. Searched the ground and found part of log sheet, so we've signed and placed insufferable the cable tie
Found with Bogonghazy. Day out caching in the area. Thanks crank1 for placing the cache Only found the cabke tie on the branch and part of log on the ground. Signed and placed paper in-between cabke tie. Needs replacing
Very quick find which Im grateful for after searching for the previous DNF for an hour. TFTC
Completing another PowerTrail on the push bike today, This time going to tackle the River Gum Trail and the last section of the Hallam Valley Trail I have yet to fully complete. All caches are in good working order unless otherwise specified. Thanks heaps for the caches as always!.
Thanks Sara and Tyson for creating more space to write; log will need replacing! TFTC
In the area today so some extra time was used for a few caches. Added some extra paper to the cache
I headed out on this stunning spring day to knock a few caches off my list. I had my bike so I had anticipated to get through a number of finds in a few hours. I didn’t. Perhaps I had a bit of cache blindness but most took quite some time to locate and I had 5 DNFs on this series today. I’m pretty sure they are missing but I’ll put a watch on them and we will see what happens.
Thank you crank1 for placing and maintaining River Gum Creek #20 for us to find today.

poor husband couldn’t get this one open with his giant man hands, so wifey had to step in and help. Lol.
Had some spare time this afternoon to put a smiley face on a good chunk of this trail. TFTC crank1!
Previous finder did a good job relocating in hide, I've done the same hope it stays, needs a keyring to secure didn't have a spare on me TFTC
No luck

ManfredWolfgang ahomburg and myself decided to combine ManfredWolfganfs walk and some caching. Despite Uncle and Aunty Knight_Shift dumping us series companions, we pushed through the mental pain, and managed to find the caches in a good frame of mind. It was a wonderfully sunny day, which is normally good, but I didn’t pack a hat. ManfredWolfgang had his supplies, so at least the important things were packed. Whilst he had water, uncle ahomburg and myself dehydrated .
After I found the cable tie, ahomburg found this one on the ground. We tried to maintain as best we could re the photo.
Thanks for the caches crank1, they created a nice walk for ManfredWolfgang.

Woof woof woof (translated - Uncle a Homburg tried to make me walk on wet grass. Has he met me?)
Decided to do a power track - not my usual caching journey. I put my mountain bike in the car and headed off to the start. Over 2 hours along the track and with Cachly on my iWatch as I went from cache to cache, I covered 23 caches in this series.
Few tree branches missing here so maybe gone.

Second DNF for the day... and like *gumbootfollies*, I found a cable tie but no cache.
Found the black cable tie for this one but alas no cache
Maybe it is missing or maybe I was hallucinating!
I'll keep a watch on this one
Progressive Count
Finds 13
DNF 6
Muggled Out: 1
Many thanx to crank1 for the series and ongoing maintenance as required

Found while out exploring this lovely area and found this River Gum Creek trail so Thanks Crank1 for putting this trail together.
I was on another of my after-work afternoon walk somewhere in Casey. I did a short loop around the top part of this park and had a good success rate. This one was staring me in the face.
Hampton Park is a suburb located in the southeastern part of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The area that is now Hampton Park was originally inhabited by the Bunurong people
The first European settler to the area was Robert Bain, who established a farm near present-day Hallam Road in the 1850s. Yet, until the Hampton Park sub-division in 1917-1918 rate payers of the area were listed variously as living in Eumemmerring, Dandenong or Lyndhurst. The area was locally known as Garner’s Paddock, after the owners, the Garner family of Dandenong. The suburb supposedly takes its name from a local property owner, Thomas Hampton, who owned a large estate in the area in the early 20th century. Hampton's property was called "Hampton Park", and it was one of the largest and most significant estates in the region.
I remember my DNF on this one when I was searching for the FTF. The sun still hadn't arisen, it was dark and I was searching by torch light. I even climbed into the trees looking for it. I ended up giving up. The person who got a FTF a few hours later told me they found it in the grass as it had fallen down. Easy find today.
Thanks for the cache Crank 1

Grabbed the deadly treadlies, and with Chewinprickles and a couple of granddaughters, we rode the River Gum Creek.
Some really nice wooden sculptures around the trail.
A nice flat trail, and a lovely ride with very few muggles spotted.
Thanks for this series, Robmc.
