Cache 65 was in the post office boxes and only got one find (by the owner). Cache 96 was only found once (by the Hamping Fish team), apparently it was buried and the coordinates were a bit off.

Strangely, the two caches with the most finds (64 and 69) and the two cache with the least finds (65 and 96) were both hidden by the same two teams (The Flappers and travellinbees).

HAHAHAHAHA
So the Bees where so busy planning and coordinating the event with the amazing JLWE committee that they actually forgot to log the event.... again!!
Wow what a weekend! It was fun, full of laughs and stress. Amazing creative hides, fantastic costumes.
Mrs Bee needs to get better at this logging caper.....

Playing as Team Unicycle, we had nearly everyone there this year, Logan, Emily, Chris and Stephen. Unfortunately Medusa was still in Covid cautionary quarantine.
Uni had a poor start to the weekend, when he had a flat on the Xtrail just as he arrived at the campsite. The tyre place in Strath couldn't repair it, so we used Chris' Forester for the event. Uni has since also discovered he had blown the head gasket too, so this will be the Xtrail's last event.
We had a great time and are pretty pleased with our 4th place, and being only one point behind 2nd place. Even Logan enjoyed it I think, once we forced him to stop playing games on the phone.

12-Jun-21
Well that was a JLWE to remember sadly for all the wrong reasons. It was supposed to be a fun weekend with friends giving them a taste of the fun that can be had. Unfortunately due to an incident that resulted in my car being stuck for for several hours on a track that should never had had a cache on and if it was to be used a warning (hint) needed to be given so others did suffer the cost I did. The incident ruined my weekend, I didn't even get into my costume and was frustrated and felt quite disappointed that cache had ever been placed there.
A huge thank you to the committee that wasted their time rescuing my car and checking we were all ok. The car is being fixed (hopefully) but I am not keen to drive a JLWE again.

12-Jun-21
Attended with Loopy1972, and aside from a little "trip" by my partner, we had a ball. After setting up the night adventure lab, it was time to socialize and cache the time away until game day, where our team, the Grappa gang, made it into the top ten. A big thank you to all the organisers for a great event.

12-Jun-21
The weekend was excellent. Thanks everyone.

12-Jun-21
Another amazing June Long Weekend event, and so close to Adelaide meant it was well attended. Very happy with a top 10 finish and a win in the Creative Cache category with DennisC52, bek-theraccoon and jambo-chicken! TFTE JLWEvent!

12-Jun-21
Fantastic event and great venue.... it was great to catchup with everyone...had lots of laughs and searching during the event with our team; myself, hevwalker and Trigger_Fish (Hamping Fish)...Second place...Whoo hoo...go us. It was great to see everyone helping each other during the game and having lots of fun.... the creative caches were all fantastic. I was humbled to win a prize for my 'cache-a-vision' 1920's movie machine. Thanks for the event and to the organisers, master of the game and all the helpers and sponsors.

12-Jun-21
What an awesome event, was definitely worth the two year wait. Once again a fantastic event, many thanks to the committee for all your hard work. This was our seventh June Long weekend event that we have attended. Every year keeps getting better and better.
All ready looking forward to the next one.

It's been a long time coming, but thankfully this event finally happened! Sorry about Sunday morning's speech, I only got told I was doing that 15mins before it happened, and forgot to mention a few things (namely "Don't attempt to drive 4WD tracks without a 4WD!"). Thanks to everyone that helped out over the weekend, especially to Jim for MC'ing presentation night and padding for long enough for me to add up and double check the scores. Well done to Freddo, gridge and Brad&Janet for the well deserved win! And lastly, thanks to everyone that created all the amazing caches over the weekend, this event wouldn't be what it is without all the creative caches!
See you all again next year in Clare!

12-Jun-21
Thank you for my first JLWE event.

12-Jun-21
Thanks again to the JLWE committee for putting on another great event. We experienced some leisurely Saturday caching, local wine tasting, great meals, drinks around the camp fire, GAME DAY, creative caches and more

We had a blast.

Keen for next year in Clare

12-Jun-21
Well this was my first June long weekend and what can I say was a great weekend away with Freddo and Brad&Janet coming in for the game.

Knew kinda what to expect and I bought my running legs for the game, a great day out coming away with the win is always a plus too. With Used 2B humans.

Thanks to the committee for the enormous efforts in organising and looking forward to Clare

What an absolutely fabulous weekend...right from the start, Friday night until the finish, Monday afternoon...
Loved the game, the company, the caches, the dinner, the breakfast and all the other side events and fun...
The 20's theme was fantastic...
Thanks to all the organisers for the awesome time and effort you gave for our enjoyment...
Bonus 2nd place for our team, Hamping Fish Smile

Another great long weekend of caching fun with great people! Thankyou to the organisers and helpers for the hours of work put into pulling the weekend together. We had a great time catching up with some people we haven't seen for a while and also meeting some people we had not met before. It was good to drive around the area taking in the scenery. There was a lot of fun to be had at the Black Thunders too.

12-Jun-21
Always a good weekend to be had.

Thanks everyone for the good times

My first JLWE and I was sorry that I couldn't have been there for the whole weekend. I arrived early Sunday morning to be given a brief overview of how game day is played. [^]
I joined up with our JAMS team and Azzo7777's family and we had a fun day even if there was a little mishap part way through. Surprised
I am now looking forward to attending the whole weekend next year. Big Grin
Thanks to the committee who must have spent a very long time organising the event and making sure it ran smoothly. Smile

12-Jun-21
Usually on these June Long Weekend Events i am the runner. Since I have been the JAMS planner/navigator for the past year, i got told i am now the navigator for the team. Also just in case i needed more work. Allister w and JJ52 joined myself and mogni and both of them have never done a June Long Weekend Event before plus for a bonus azzo7777 and family where going to follow us ( again with the new people ) and keep in contact via CB radio.
Game day rolls around. The first of the minor problems with the non tech savvy team member's and we are off. We are off to a good start ironing bugs out on route till we got on route to the first puzzle. That cache should never have been placed on that road ( 21 cachers came up to be and said so ). Mogni's car got damaged, scratched and 3 hours later after some chain sawing a path through the flora and hours of winching ( literally ) we back on asphalt. Finally.
Even after all that delay we came 10th. Still undecided if this was a good event or not. It turned out to be a VERY expensive one.

12-Jun-21
Sitting around the fire before presentations reflecting on the days events. Once again we had an enjoyable time, can’t wait for the next one….only 364 days to go….

12-Jun-21
Had a blast as always. A fantastic way to spend my birthday, made extra special by being kid free. Huge thanks to the committee for all you do and to Tweety2 and Bubbles8 for being fabulous team mates add to my entertainment value.

12-Jun-21
As newbies we had a ball. Meeting new people and familiar ones as well. Might start planning for next year.

12-Jun-21
14th June LWE in a row...
Well organised and friendly participants.
Alas I needed to leave before the Sun night festivities...
Had a nice weekend.
Thanks again...

12-Jun-21
Partook in this event and followed other teams around all day. Mr Triggerfish thought my navigation skills were shonky and he was probably right. Mrs shonkylogic was reading the map and little shonky was doing all the running down roads that never were... Until this weekend and some of them became brand new 4wd tracks.
Thankyou to the JLWE organisers for all the hours of voluntary work put in to making this event run so smoothly. We really appreciate it, it is a highlight of the year. This was my 15th event and definitely not the last.

12-Jun-21
A fun time was had at the wacky weekend of 20s frivolity.
Came 12th after being 7th the last two times. We'll have to lift our game and get some more caching experience before next year !!! Watch out everyone [:o)]

Much thanks to the whole organising committee - love your work and dedication!

Wandering around with Sebastbat, **JEM**, & Jack CoolCoolCoolCool

JLWEvent is much appreciated for this smiley Smile

Caches are found and logged using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S20+, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or sometimes with just plain old dumb luck! WinkCoolBig Grin

Do stay safe when caching.
Watch for snakes, random cliffs, wild goats, wombats, bulldust, and lightning,
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins... but especially lookout for bugs. [xx(]

Make sure Travel Bugs are the only ones you share and pass on Big Grin

2020 turned into 2020won, and 2020too is on the way! 2020free should see us through Razz

Still important to observe social distancing when possible, (150 nano caches apart should do it)
Still important to wash your hands (always has been really [:o)]
Still very important to look after each other and take precautions & get checked out for even the tiniest sniffle or cough, or unexpected headache! [8)] [B)]

Still even more important to get some fresh air and exercise while we can, so get out and cache the country!

Thanks so much to all those placing caches out and about away from the city crowds,
keeps our game safe and interesting Cool

June 2021 will be memorable for many reasons. It was Freddo's 13th June LWE. Would it be lucky 13? Could it be lucky 13? Should it be lucky 13?

So a team of Used 2B Humans was put together for a try at the big prize. "Legs", "Brains" and a "Driver".

Gridge98 and I toured the district on Saturday and collected all of the local caches leaving absolutely no distractions to a clean run. We placed our caches and used the wonderful new web based cache loading facility. So much time saved.

The LLL Flash Mob was attended. We joined the big Covid queue at the Milang Bakery for a delicious lunch. A relaxing Saturday evening enjoying a great meal, good red wine, and some fire side fun.

Sunday morning. 13 June. Our third member arrives. Welcome Brad. Janet is looking after the dogs. We have a good breakfast. There is a full tank of premium diesel in a well tuned PayHero waiting for coordinates. Right on time an email arrives and the GPS devices are loaded. A strategy is prepared based on our limited knowledge of the district, and the plan was hatched. Used 2B Humans are go. The next 7 hours are an absolute blur.

Many thanks to the organizing crew. A seamless well oiled machine. Just like ducks swimming on the pond. Poise and grace on top and a lot of furious paddling underneath. Praise for putting up with any of my interference with your process.

And it seems that Used 2B Humans won the prize. It was a great team. But we cannot it without the other players. You placed some awesome caches. And lots of players generously helped us many times during the day. Kudos to all of you.

BTW 11th June LWE, Edithburgh - Freddo in a team 3rd. 12th June LWE, Quorn - Freddo in a team 2nd. Do you see a pattern?

PS: Gridge can tell the story of how we lost the log book. Twice!!

See is was lucky 13th June LWE.

Another fantastic JLWE event I thoroughly enjoyed. Great location, easily accessible, perfect campground, good amenities and a perfectly sized clubroom.

Loved the campfire where a few too many drinks were enjoyed and having a catered meal was a great alternative.

Really enjoyed spending time with a lot of different people who I hadn’t seen for a long time or who I didn’t even know that well before the JLWE. Above all, this is our annual father and daughter weekend and I am grateful that even at age 17 Skyebird3 still loves coming to this event. Having her best friend with her made it even more special.

And of course, this was the first time my muggle wife actually was part of the event. She came up specially for race day to be our driver! In a field of all 4WD we were never going to be at the top of the leaderboard in our 2WD especially with all these unexpected gnarly little tracks all over the place but we still came a respectfully 6th, only 5 points from silver and all four of us tried our hearts out.

A huge congratulations and thank you to all members of the organising committee. Without your dedication to this fantastic tradition, the SA geocaching community would be missing out on what is always one of the best weekends of the year. Can’t wait for Clare ’22!

12-Jun-21
The whole weekend was a wonderful time away.
The event/race itself was 7 hours of non-stop fun. Being in the car with my Mum, Dad and best friend provided endless amounts of laughter, even if my legs were sore the next day!
Running to and from the car to find caches as quick as possible was exhilarating and seeing some really creative locations and caches really made my weekend.
The presentation night was well orchestrated, and the anticipation of our final placement made my heart beat!

Overall, had the best time away and can’t wait for the next one!

12-Jun-21
A great weekend which was my first JLWE. Thanks to all the organisers for a great job they did.

12-Jun-21
A huge thankyou to the committee for an amazing event, knowing the hard work and sometimes chaos it can be it was so appreciated the hard work you all did for the geocaching community. I was so excited to compete with my boys and we gave it a red hot go this year, we found 84 game day caches and all the puzzle, no bonus for us and we lost a travel bug on our journey, to finish equal second spot.
It was good to be back out on the field competing with the boys, we let the GPS guide us and we even visited a black thunder on our journey. the boys helped every cacher by running to cars to stamp books and allowing a few speed ups for other teams, awesome ability to assist teams and even give out hints, handing out grapes and carrots to drivers and navigators as they came accross them. The Mckee Clan Boys were amazing and as a parent couldn't be any prouder of them and the way they played the game, amazing integrity and what an adventure they had. All I can say is the boys were amazing.
A huge thankyou to so many teams who came along with us for multiple caches and who were able to assist us in speeding up the finding process, it was much appreciated. During the day we met many at caches but would like to thank Unicycle for your assistance at so many caches we ended up making an awesome team in the end, even though we kept taking different routes to so many caches. You guys were amazing and so appreciated on gameday.
A final note a massive thankyou for jules who is still assisting on the committee and stayed away from us as much as possible and especially for not spoiling it for us with any info. We didnt even get a bonus point from her and it is appreciated as the boys walked away saying they go no favours, no bonus, no short cuts and basically these boys earnt it. You are an amazing women and mum of some outstanding boys, who I really appreciated being thier driver and they appreciated your sacrifice to south australian geocaching to assist putting this event on for the community and for the enjoyment of all. You are a super star.

on a final note we really enjoyed the weekend and in my top 3 zone locations of our 11 attendances. Thankyou for an amazing event.

Great event. The last one we attended was 2015, so it is nice to get back into it now that the kids Basketball commitments have eased.

8th Place was a PB for TC too.

Many thanks to the organisers for putting on a good show. It was nice to catch up with the old, and meet some of the new.

Hi all attendees,
It's getting close now, we hope you are all prepared!
For some of our interstate cachers it may prove a challenge to get over the borders, please contact the committee to discuss any concerns.
For the rest of you, its full steam ahead!
Have you gotten your costume ready?
Have you got your $10 geocaching gift?
Have you completed your rego, we know it's annoying, however it helps us with planning and Covid plans.
Have you practised the Charleston? The flash mob will be fancy! Pack some small change as you may want a scone and jam at the Milang Visitor centre.
How are those super creative cache hides going? Its ok if you dont have a creative hide, you will still have a container to place on the weekend.

Please ensure that you pack warm clothes, JLWE is notoriously cold and wet.
Get excited for a weekend full of fun, laughter and all things geocaching related.
See you soon
The JLWE committee
