Reperio 12:59Day 5 of our Capital GeoBash mega event trip to Canberra with Miss Vitruvius, and today it was time to head home, but not before finding plenty of caches. We decided to line up the caches around the Sutton area, which had plenty of high DT caches, and plenty of easier ones as well.Gratias ALL7As a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV

Find Number 2874 found at 12:47. Today we found 29 caches, 0 Adventure Lab stages and had 0 DNFs. Our last day at the mega. NationalSteel and I attended the Ainslie event, tackled some of the CBR whereigo caches and then made our separate ways home.I travel this road several times a year, but never have time to stop to get any of the nearby caches. Today, on the way back from the mega, I decided to remedy that. The cache was in good condition. We took nothing, left nothing, signed the log and replaced the container as foundThanks ALL7 for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

12:52What a fascinating way to learn of the history of the American states - Native Americans perhaps as early as 11,000 BCE. .. other states developing in "more recent times" North Carolina being named after King Charles 1st of England. With so many caches in the series, it is fun to read about each state as you pause to sign a log and collect a smiley token. Thanks to ALL7 for such a creative series for the geo-gameboard. 36836

04-Feb-23
Headed out today with Rapidlywild to do the final section of this trail. The Co was kind enough to give us a bag of replacements should any of these need to be maintained along our journey.
In the end we replaced 3 as the containers were not very waterproof and the logs were soggy and another one we replaced completely as the side of the road had been cleared.

Pretty windy out today which made for an interesting retrieval on one of them.
After finishing our mini adventure we ended up at the Bakery in Sutton.

Thanks for the trail and hides ALL7 and for the laughs and company Rapidlywild

Received a messaged from the FFLL ladies asking if I had plans today, to which I hadn't. The ladies wanted to head out and finish off the USA series near Sutton and being I had not started them, I was keen to join. The CO provided a bag of replacements to the ladies in the event we needed to do any maintenance whilst in the field. A couple needed replacing and a few logs were replaced.

It was nice and windy today, was nice caching weather all round, however the last one of this series was definitely interesting with the high winds. We treated ourselves to a pie and vanilla slice at the Sutton bakery before heading home.

Thanks for the cache placement ALL7 and thanks for the fun day out FurfacesLL ladies Big Grin

18-Sep-22
Out and about for a few caches with GreyHams on a cold and windy day. We only had a limited timeframe and the weather put off the idea of walking any of the areas we had in mind. Especially after the overnight heavy rain and wet trails waiting out there... and it was freezing at times so close to a warm car was great!

In the end a trail of caches out around the Gundaroo/Sutton area worked well. Still a bit wet under foot and some good mud and pot holed roads along the way but a good trail and a good choice for the day.

With the recent rain a few of the logs were really wet, signed them as best we could although generally most were dry and in good condition, coords were good and all found without issue.

The bakery at Sutton for a nice hot pie was yummy and warming, still very busy for the later time of the day and pleased to see they had eclairs left, caching fuel at its finest!

Thanks for your cache!

18-Sep-22
Aquilus1 & I originally planned a walk around Mt Ainslie to pick up a bunch of newer hides, but the weather wasn't the most pleasant, so we decided to do a little loop up to Gundaroo and back through Sutton collecting a power trail or two.

Most hides in decent condition, some mushy....replaced a missing container for the CO as well.

Was amazed at how busy the bakery at Sutton was!

A trip down to Yass and Canberra has been in the process of being organised and it finally was decided to head down on Saturday. We ended up spending the night at Yass before getting up early, on Day 2, to try to get some caches before heading to the Ginninderrra Catchment Bushland CITO. After the CITO we drove around Canberra and Hall getting Virtuals, Challenge caches, Letterboxes, Trads before finally making our way home after sunset. We ended up getting a mix of D/T, including a couple of tree climbs in twilight

On the way home we grabbed a few caches in this area

With cache in hand we signed the log and replaced as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition. Thanks for bringing me to the area and thanks for placing the cache ALL7

After the busy (and wet) summer had finished, The Rats floated the idea of a trip to the area around Canberra and Yass with Steeba and myself. We compared diaries, and had a two day mid-week window where we could make things happen, in the week wedged between Easter and ANZAC Day.

The weather was on our side for the first time in I forget how long, and we were able to make the most of our time opportunity.

A lot of excellent caches were found, and some fantastic terrain caches too. A few power trails, some crafty hides, some hard hides, and even some climbs that I could not do... even with our ladder!

Thank you to all of the cache owners for placing their hides. This boiler plate log does not reflect the quality of the hides. Most importantly thanks as always to my two great caching mates for their company!

Cheers

20-Apr-22
The Rats, Hoojar and myself teamed up for an assault in and around the Yass area for a couple of days- a most enjoyable caching trip with my mates. Plenty of power trail type finds but a lot of great variety here and there, particularly around Yass itself. We started off on Wednesday night and finished up Friday afternoon. TFTC!

20-Apr-22
The Gong Gangsters (steeba, Hoojar and The Rats) took advantage of an extended Easter / Anzac break to head out for another caching juggernaut through the Southern Highlands and Yass regions. Blessed with beautiful weather we targeted a few powertrails and high D/T rated caches.

After 2 full days we'd collected a plethora of finds, made some new friends, laughed alot, pushed our bodies beyond the comfortable level and most of all - had a great time with mates. Thanks to all the CO's for your caches and those who tagged along.

# 7753 iPlod65 and I headed to Collector for some lunch and a few caches today. I've already found everything there, so on the way home we headed up Shingle Hill Way to grab some of these. We managed to time our run with the school run so there was plenty of traffic too.
Thanks ALL7

This lock down we have been experiencing has been quite hard, Im sure its been same for every one.
Now that we have been given some freedom, we made plans for today to go out and geocache at Sutton area, we have been puzzling, doing jizsaws and ready for what was a very a wonderful day out, even thou it was a bit cold, a little rain, a bit of wind and sunshine as well.
It was successful day out.
Lots Tree climbs, lots of bending and stretches done today, feeling quite alive been out and about.
Thanks to all the CO for their hides, sorry for the generic logs.

Out and about enjoying country NSW with fun company. Saw plenty of ducks enjoying the rain and that’s expected with the creeks breaking their banks, dams overflowing and some roads slowly turning into rivers. Not to forget the waterfalls roadside where the banks were elevated - ain’t nature wonderful! Love the rain !

Worth a few favourite points for the group of InnocentApple caches found today.

Quick and easy find. TFTC InnocentApple.

Caching along old Fed Highway today, then on to Shingle Hill Way, on super wet and miserable day so why not cache!

Quick easy find at head height.

Grateful thanks to Innocent Apple for placing and maintaining this series of caches that continue to entertain me on my caching journey.

#11534 - 10:05:00 AM; The weather forecast for today was pretty ordinary and I didn't think caching would be a possibility. Turned out that the rain looked like holding off, so I set out to finish off the Shingle Hill Road part of this series. Despite a couple of the caches having DNFs on them, I managed a successful run with earlier logs providing the snippets needed for success. Managed 13 from 13 on the run this morning, so happy about that! TFTC InnocentApple Smile

27-May-21
Time to clear up the series today. Most were found after a brief search, although also had a couple of DNFs for reasons recorded in the respective logs.
Not always a safe parking spot next to GZ and I was spoken to by the police on one occasion while parking in a (much safer) spot across the road.
TFTC and for placing and maintaining the series InnocentApple.

With the boys at their Dad's this weekend, it was a perfect opportunity to head to Canberra for some 'light' caching with fitzy_1965.

I had done a couple of this trail on the way to work through the week so was keen to do a few more. Most were fairly easy but others were a bit more challenging (making me glad I wasn't trying them in my work clothes today). We certainly made a couple of unnecessary assumptions along the way but definitely enjoyed the variety of hides. The road was pretty quiet and the weather was great.

All good at GZ today. Thanks for the hide InnocentApple.

24,630. Found with minniek on our way into Canberra on our kid free (at least until 5pm tomorrow) weekend.

With a mixed bag of cache wishes between us this weekend we decided to head into the big smoke and try to fulfil them all. We saw this series get published while we were up in Queensland, and this was my first go at them. I grabbed ten of them, and I soon got the hang on the series hides (lol) and most were nice quick finds - like this one. Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one on the list.

Thanks InnocentApple !! Cool series !! I haven't been to North Carolina.

Chooo ooo [found] with dty73 on a nice sunny day. Thanks InnocentApple!

02-May-21
Tankengine and I weren’t sure what to do today, so we thought of grabbing these while we can. As with all power trails around here, they are only caches good for the numbers really.

This series had a few technical issues - the D/Ts were obviously easier to just write as 2/2, but these do not reflect most of the hides. Some are harder, but most are easier. The final I think the D/T was swapped accidentally too. There are the occasional micro/small mix up and of course parking at some of the GZs seems to be difficult for the CO to work out the best spots.

Not all caches were bad, there were a couple with something good about them like the cows in the paddock at one and they were all found and in good condition mostly. And it was a lovely sunny day. Tftc InnocentApple!!!

01-May-21
Was travelling along this road in both directions for another non-geocaching related reason, so thought I would just pick up a couple to lessen the load if I come back in the future!

Was only able to find 4 of them today, as the rest of the ones I travelled past did not have safe parking for larger vehicles.

Thanks for the caches InnocentApple, no problems with any along here, appreciated the fact that when there was safe parking, a cache was placed!

24-Apr-21
Enjoyed this part of the run much more today. The parking places were much better along this road and the caches not too hard to find. Had a successful run with ilook4geo on a beautiful sunny day. Thanks for this series go to InnocentApple.

Warmest Geocaching regards from *AppleCircus* Cool

I went a searchin' a cache t'day,
I looked and looked for that cache t'day,

A mystery did I say,
A mystery I did not find t'day

I did not find it in the bush,
I did not find it in the tree,

By this time I was starting to ponder,
could it be over yonder?

So off I went trudging over there,
but I could not find it anywhere.

An interesting group of caches. Micros in out the country sounded tough. Once I got into the swing of it, I managed to find then fairly quickly. TFTC.

Found Smile -- 10:41 am -- Thanks for bringing us to this location and Thanks for the hunt *InnocentApple*.

**Cache Condition:** Good and dry.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Nothing.
**Trackables:** None seen in this cache today.

**The Cache**
Some of this series took a bit to find and others were spotted easily. With CIH we signed the log in either our names or our initials in some switcheroo form of LP, DJJ, ToC and then returned cache to its hide'y hole exactly as found. This cache wasn't on my list of caches to tackle when I printed out my list and popped up just as I was downloading the gpx for my gps, so while I had extra work to do finding caches, it hs given us some bonus finds.

**The Day**
OCW *Little Panther* and *DustyJapserJet* on a much welcome and overdue camping trip for a few days at one of our much liked locations in *Gundaroo,* and tackling a couple of power trails and caches in *Canberra*.
