Lovely day for geocaching found the remenants left of machinery you would never no what was here along a track. Sneaky hide and contents dry and good condition Thanks for bringing me here TFTC
No luck for me today, but I just wondered if all the recent bad weather played a part in that.
It has been 52 years since I was in this area so obviously there was a massive amount of change since that time. I was pleased to be able to find this cache without too much difficulty. Thank you Diadem and TaurusSix for placing this cache which was an incentive to revisit this remote area of Tasmania.
Overlooked this one to start with but found it after being a little more thorough. TFTC!Cheers,The Hancock Clan
On our way back from Cockle Creek, we stopped to look for this cache. It was a short walk, and the combination of the hint and accurate coordinates led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. As we walked back to the car, we saw a number of pieces of old machinery, including one right next to the road. Thanks for the cache and fir bringing us here.
3 caches on the list for today and this was the first. Enjoyed the nice little walk to collect this one, nicely hidden away and in excellent condition TFTC
Im having a couple of weeks off and Im spending the first few days down in the South of Tassie to find 8 different types, 25 of one type and also any LGAs that I come across to help fulfil a few of the challenges that Im working on.Also Im trying to keep my small streak going to beat my last streak of 67 days.I headed down this far south to find the most Southern cache that the Geohirecar could get me and this is a beautiful part of the world. With the sun shinning the whole area looked spectacular. On the way back out I called in here to find this relic that I was not sure what it actually was.Looked in quite a few spots till the cache showed its self. Thanks Diadem TaurusSix TFTC
So many questions..What was it? What did it do? How did it get here? Who owned it? When did it end its life here? How many more things from the past have been swallowed by the native Australian bush? After finding the cache I continued down the track to the water. Such a pretty sight.TFTC DiademKeep smiling
bunadoorian, Smiley1982 and myself enjoyed the walk along this trail to find this cache from where I parked the car. I soon had my had on the cache. TFTC and for bringing us here Diadem.
TFTC! Lovely little stroll along this path to find this cache with both Bunadoorian and Grub62.
Grub62 found this cache before I had actually got to GZ. A nice easy stroll to GZ then a well maintained cache. Great. TFTC
Out from the airport long drive to drop a hiker off, decided what the heck, I'll see what's about.Sure enough. Thanks for the stretch time. Great location.
A quick find by Mrs Shifter while Mr Shifter waited in the car, love the old machinery. Thanks for the hide Diadem.
Pleasant little walk and a quick find at gz, loved exploring the old machinery, tftc
We found our first cache!
Not too far from our shack, we recently were told about geocaching and it’s something we are excited to do with our kids.

Today we did the hike to South Cape Bay, something that we’ve wanted to do for a while. We arrived at Cockle Creek just after midday, finding one cache upon arrival, and set off on the walk not long after. Two more caches were found on the walk and two on the way home giving us a total of five finds for the day and some incredible locations visited.
We had a lot of trouble finding a parking spot for this one. Ended up figuring something out. A quick find at GZ.
Thanks for the cache Diadem and TaurusSix!

Excuses for the late log, found it back in 2022 with S_38. Such a beautiful area and having some interesting caches are like the cherry on top. Thanks!
We were touring around Tassie for a few weeks and decided to stay in Cockell Creek
Beautiful place but today was a wet day so off for a drive, found this cache in between showers
Cache in good condition

Spotted the old boiler by the side of the unsealed road and fancied there would be a cache inside it. Nope, but there was one less than 100 metres along this nice track. Easy find here and replaced as found after signing duties completed.
Day 3 in Hobart area and a trip to the South East of the coast nearby was the plan. We covered a few more kms, saw some more cool stuff including a platypus in it's natural environment and a few more caches were found.
We had a weeks holiday booked in Tasmania as a way of celebrating mrs capperz's 60th birthday. What can I say but WOW. What an awesome state and was everything we'd seen and heard about this gem of a place. My main PQ had only Earthcaches and Virtuals and aside from an old cache for my missing month stats I only turned the GPS on when we were stopping somewhere anyway, what a great way to tour a place. Managed one complete set of Ad Labs at the airport, and started another 6 adventures with no intention to complete. Over 50 'real' caches were completed and left behind a couple of trackables to continue their journeys.
I will upload the associated pictures and answers over the next few days or so, need to start to make a dent in my finds backlog.
Oh, and thanks to all COs for their hides, much appreciated for this New Zealander.

Found and signed while on a 10 day Geocaching holiday with my love doing what we love doing most. [:X]
Another very lucky quick find.
What a glorious day we are having.
We were chased South a little early by the weather, so my partner catnap777 and I just set up camp in Hobart and beyond for a little while longer which suited us just fine. We had a lot of geocaching business down there and were keen to find out just how far South this game would take us. [^]

I have grouped this traditional cache generic log pertaining to each CO. I shall only deviate from the generic if there was an issue with the cache .
I would like to thank all of you for your time and effort in placing and maintaining your caches, and this generic log has nothing to do with disrespecting your time in placing them out there, as it has to do with time restraints due to the great number of caches my partner dalerious and I signed here.
EACH and every cache we visited was special, and we thank you so much. Most were chosen to qualify for Challenge caches both here and on the mainland .
There are too many of you to name individually so please accept that I acknowledge you all and I am truly grateful for your contribution and understanding .
We had this trip to Tasmania on our wish list very soon after we met. The meticulous planning began a few months ago when we finally set a date to sail to a place that I had been before, but never cached, and for dalerious, a place he cached, but never really got to see the real beauty of this place, and all it's glory. God's country about sums it up.
We started our adventure in the North West and traversed the entire Island in 10 days. We thought the weather was going to thwart our plans, but all it did was change the itinerary a tad.
Where back home was flooding, we had mostly sunshine here; apart from the North of your lovely state, and our thoughts were with those who were affected both here and at home.
Caches here took us to extraordinary places; one's we will never forget.
We also got to meet some cachers; we can't wait to meet the rest .

Another I forgot to log way back when. Nice short walk through the bush to see some more history and a good cache It would be interesting to walk to the end of this track and see the views. I'm sure the water would be amazing. Was on a mission this day though to get all the way to South Cape Bay. Thanks for highlighting this bit of history Diadem and TaurusSix
We had managed to tag along for a short holiday with muggle brother who had a couple of commitments in Tasmania, and after we also managed some time to explore, so we enjoyed a drive through this area, Cache found by youngest team member in good condition, log signed and replaced, TFTC and the fun
Thanks for the cache TaurusSix, camped last night at Recherche bay last night, beaut spot! Picked this one up on my morning ride. Regards from Victourer (Millgrove, Vic)
After doing a multi we drove again through the Ferny glades to traverse past the little beach to the parking spot. We were stopped driving up the nice trail by a stone in the way. We did the long journey toughing it eating Tim tams and a swig of bunderberg creaming soda
Nice easy one rusty gold!
Nice new container TFTC

Today we decided to head to Cockle Creek and find a few more caches that we have not done since our last visit and this was one of them. We parked at the waypoint and walked down the track to GZ on a sunny warm day.
Mrs T made a quick find, cache and contents were in good condition.
Thanks Diadem and TaurusSix for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

A nice quick walk and grab today and our Southern most find to date. TFTC from the inspectorrexteam.
We decided to get up nice and early so that we could gather a few caches that have appeared since our last visit! Lady membsec hasn’t been this far down but male membsec has to either walk the track or to take visitors to this area!
There were 3 brand new caches that came out last night so we decided to see if we could get those 3 caches, which meant that we passed this one until our return drive. Nice and pleasant walk to GZ and male membsec was quick to find the beast!
