Second time to this bridge but first time searching for the cache. Great hide but as our team name suggests we forgot our pen so couldnt sign the log. Hoping for forgiveness and we will do better in future.Lovely spot - TFTC!!
The trek down is hell, as my geo husband! I regretted it when I saw the dam steps and tried to make him go on his own. We passed people returning and they looked buggered. GH wouldn't find the cache if I didn't go so glad I did! The suspension bridge alone is worth it. I like the cache hunt too. TFTC
Was going pastWith a break in the weather, we decided to wander down and have a look at the bridge. And have a look for the cache tooAll good hereSigned and replaced as foundThanks for the cache.
Found on my trip around Tasmania. Loved discovering all these places . Sorry about the delayed log and thanks for the cache
Tasmania Trip Day 7. I only stayed in Queenstown overnight, but I got a great feel for the place and would love to spend more time here. My target today was Hobart, but although the total distance did not seem too high, the nature of some of the roads and the lack of towns made for a longer sparser trip than I had expected. There were plenty of great nature spots along the way and when I did at last reach a bigger spot, New Norfolk, I had an enjoyable time exploring the town. I had expected more in Hamilton, but alas did not even get lunch there. After getting into Hobart I checked into my motel in Battery point and headed out on foot. I visited the coastal section of the pint end finished in Salamanca place for dinner and a few virtual caches before heading back up the hill to my accommodation.I seem to have found another downhill walk to a river. Not quite as steep as yesterday, but the river crossing was amazing and I am glad I made it down. Finding the cache was just a bonus here. Thanks for the cache Gekko 145934.3 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2006 World Travel Silver A#14**Albida**
We thought the walk was going to be longer here so once we crossed the bridge we kept going so our legs got a proper stretch. Sadly previous finder had just chucked the cache in the stump, we replaced as per hint. TFTC
Nice little walk. Had a chat to a couple who are doing the hike. Lucky buggers. Quick find at gz... then had a play on the bridge. Tftc
We were so interested in the bridge we nearly forgot we came here for a cache. Lucky Mrs Parko remembered and turned back. Cache was found after a short hunt. Lots of cars in the carpark doing the hike on this long weekend. Looks like a gorgeous mountain, maybe one day. Thanks for bringing us here Gekko 1
Second find today. We enjoyed the chance to stretch the legs for this one. Would love to do a walk like this on our trip, but our schedule is too tight for this visit.TFTC Gekko1, quick find, all good. Our first find of the day.It was a quick find once we started looking. There was a truck stopped here but he moved on while I read the panels. All good with this one, TFTC Tassie Trekkers.Day 7 of our Aussie (mostly Tassie) trip, and today it is Bronte Park to Strahan.Great weather today after a chilly start. There were blue skies pretty much all the day.Small walks were the order of the day and we stopped in for a few on the way, but skipped a couple of others.A couple of earthcaches thrown in too, and we got into Strahan early enough to get orientated, book river tour tickets for tomorrow, and go for a walk looking for platypus. No joy there, but a good day. Thanks all COs.
Located with Ricardinho A very cool suspension bridge & we were glad we stopped & stretched our legs for this one. A little bush bash & the cache was in hand Day 7 of our Tassie/Sydney trip, and today we are travelling from Bronte Park to Strahan. We woke up to a magic clear sky, so stunning! Some great short walks were complrted on our drive through to the quaint waterside town of Strahan. A great day all round & I got some truly epic pics TFTC
I loved the obvious clue! We found it safe and sound and nice and dry. Mr Shadow spotted the spot but I found the cache by accident. Looked through the right hole and noticed it. TFTC and I loved the bridge.
Found it! Tftc! this one’s been on our radar for a while. Mr hunnybunny is not a big fan of these bridges but once we found the cache, I bribed him with cake want to come back and do the walk another day!
Adelaide to Hobart Road Trip.
Day Five: Queenstown to New Norfolk.
Weather: Too perfect to be true.
I enjoyed this walk down to the Franklin River. A bit muddy in places but not as steep as I was expecting. Are there platypus in here, I would have loved loved to have seen one (had to settle for an echidna later in the day). I was glad of the hint here, and thanks to the Russian doll style cache, the log is nice and dry. I’ve picked up the TB to move along.
Thanks so much for getting me to stop here Gekko1. A favourite.
It’s officially a mega.

A fantastic day exploring some pretty special places.
I met so many fun guys along the way and seen some beautiful, untouched country.
If only I had the time to explore the track to have a closer look at the Frenchmans Hat.

On the way home after a long weekend of caching. Thanks for the stop! Next time I should finish the whole walk .
Over the long weekend xxDouDouxx and I made a plan to knock off several challenge caches including caches from "Old School Challenge" GC44WV0 and "Tasmanian Mainland LGA Challenge" GC8CGMX, as well as a few caches for various statistic grids. I'm happy to say LGA is now complete and Old School is well on the way. A fantastic, busy, and adventure filled 3 days was had, covering 1500km from Huonville, to Ben Lomond, then Georgetown, across the top to Burnie, down through Waratah, Queenstown, and back to Huonville. Lots of great caches, new places to explore, fantastic views, and interesting locations...
I'd love to do this whole walk some time. Great to have a short walk cache and to see the bridge. Nice to get out and stretch the legs and see the Franklin River up close. Thanks Gekko1

Did not download before the start of walk. Gps bounced around too much. Clue couldn't retreive as no internet great walk though.
We continued today our tour in Tasmania, AUS, and thereby searched, found and logged this interesting Traditional-Cache.
The weather was - said in one word – simply best. The good hidden caches and the being on holidays kept us the whole day in a good mood.
The cache had good coordinates, and thus was easy to find. The logbook was okay, and allowed easy logging.
Thanks to Gekko 1 for the generation of this nice cache Frank is Suspended (with the proper agenda), for leading us here and for showing us this funny location as well as the ongoing maintenance of this cache.
PS: Please forgive us the uniform log which is needed due to timing problems - if necessary special actions and happenings are there described where they appeared.
Greetings from Germany together with the hope to meet somewhere like event or wood.

How things have changed in the 50 years since I walked to the Frenchman. The registration booth mentions huts and tent sites. Non existent when I was here last. As for the cache it was a pleasant walk on a nice day and the cache was quickly in hand.
Travelling around Tassie admiring the stunning scenery, today is no exception.
Found cache without too much , wish I could go all the way to Frenchmans. Oh well maybe another time

Loved the location. No reception so a bit tricky at first but obviously once you have a look around
Cache number 4 on our road trip to Lake St Claire. Quick find by Fiddler3000 and she rember the pen this time. Tftc
YAY - we found Frank is Suspended. Find 6 of Day 5 of our Great Tassie 2023 Caching Adventure. A very peaceful and stunning walk into the river to see the suspension bridge. And we had fun crossing it too. Great directions to the cache - thank you. Log signed and we were off back up the hill - mmmm those steps were .... interesting. TFHC
Enjoyed this short walk to the first suspension bridge in the Frenchman’s Cap trail.
Good placement of cache and clue to help the fragile environment getting trashed. Nice
Cache in good order Thanks for placing and maintaining this one.

We found this cache while on our way to explore the west coast for a week.
I do love a good suspension bridge so when we saw that this was nearby one, well...we had to stop.
The GPS had trouble pointing me to an accurate spot so the hint was handy to help narrow down the right stump.
Eventually found it then went for a closer look at the bridge.

A lovely walk to an amazing bridge.
Thanks for the cache.
Do everyone a favour and use the tracks.
I saw lots of evidence of people bushbashing to get there.

Nice hide. Good waterproof container. Lots of water through here recently. Good walk on over the bridge with fast flowing Franklin below. TFTC
Cool little suspension bridge!
Definitely a fun stop while driving on our way today.
We spent awhile admiring the rushing water under the bridge.
Found the cache without too much hassle.

Cache container has been replaced with a new dry cache and dry log. We now have a cache inside a cache as the area is so wet.
Today we headed to the Start of the walk to Frenchman's Cap to look for our daily cache find. The weather was superb and there was an excellent show of wildflowers. The comments in a previous log enabled easy access to the hide. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks for the cache in a lovely area. Now it is time to head back home.
This was a very enjoyable cache to find. Firstly, crossing the swing bridge over the Franklin River is always exciting. Then to locate the cache on a trail alongside the river, with the hide being very clever and fun. Thanks Gekko 1!
Hello opted-out user thank you for the cache
After a little search found the cache and an easier way to itfrom neex to the end of the bridge along a nice path.
Have been here a few years ago.

Hi Gekko 1, and thanks for the cache.
This is a great spot. I would recommend that those who follow do not follow the hint as is, but walk to the bridge and then follow the trail to the left.
Coincidentally, my daughter's geocaching team from Qld were in the right place a tht eright time, and scored the FTF (in the rain) at this cache. Nice hide, but contents are very wet.
Found on a great geocaching trip with AlbyDangles.
Day One: Hobart-New Norfolk-Queenstown-Strahan-Zeehan.
Thanks for contributing to our the adventure.
Cheers, EPs.

Hi Gekko
On the way to queenstown, this served as a great place for me and oldsaint to stretch the legs. Overthought the way to get to the cache, and walked straight in not via the nice track that went to the cache.

Heading back to Hobart and stopped here this afternoon for a stretch of the legs to find this cache. It was an easy find, although it was hard to sign as the log was so wet. We then crossed the bridge just because! TFTC!

Heading from Huonville to Strahan this was our first find for the day. Wasn't too tricky to locate. Log was wet so signed as TS. Loved the bridge. Thanks!
Our last day in the west and north west after a lovely four day mini break. Today we are exploring Zeehan and Trial Harbour and Queenstown before heading back along the Lyle to Hobart.
Last cache of the day and what a fantastic one it was. Great walk and really loved the suspension bridge, lots of amazing fungi to photograph and yes a very well placed cache. The gps played up initially but then settled to enable us to locate. TFTC and for the excuse to come to this great place.

On a holiday from QLD, doing a quick tour of Tassie driving clockwise from Hobart. While looking for caches on the west coast of Tassie I noticed 2 newly published ones at Frenchman’s cap. Well it just so happened that we were heading along this road today, so I put it on the list in the hope we could get FTF.
About 10km away from the parking spot the rain really started to set in and we thought we’d have to do the dash in the rain. Thankfully as we pulled into the parking spot the geocaching gods were looking down on us and we had blue skies overhead!
We headed down the track and noticed some muggles at the sign-in shelter (hopefully weren’t geocachers!!!) so we crossed the suspension bridge first and took photos of fast flowing river.
We crossed back and headed into the bush behind and soon spotted the likely GZ. Once there we found the ‘rod’ and ‘fished’ the cache out, unrolled the log and it was blank! Yippee!!! Happily added our names to the top and replaced back where we found it.
Beautiful part of Tassie, thanks for giving us a reason to stop Gekko 1. Adding a FP
