I was out in region today. The oldest and youngest Geo kids have got themselves Mountain ? bikes so while they tested out around the tracks nearby, I decided to grab some of the surrounding puzzles.

Since I was in the area, I thought I’d check out this archived cache. Happy to say it’s still there.

I get a buzz finding logs from 2002 still
Intact.

Ian&Sue - Team Pathfinder, Kyzabra found your cache B****r that's Deep!!!, at 12:19 pm on 14/7/18. The cache is in good shape and we replaced it as found. Thanks for placing this and bringing us to this spot!

We’d love to see you at WA GOES BIG 2018 in Dunsborough on the weekend of 13th/14th October.

Trying to rebuild our jasmer grid....that'll do nicely thank you

Was in the area knocking off another MS puzzle with my partner in cache and decided to stop off and grab 2 close by archived caches that filled empty spots in my grids. This one was a nice relaxing find after my adrenaline rush on the last one. For a cache thats been around for 14years it was certainly in pristine condition full of swag. We took nothing and just added our names to the log. We also CITOed the plastic bag that it was in which was had it. Pity we couldn't CITO the lovely merc that was abandoned nearby TFTC Ian&Sue - Team Pathfinder

I've recently decided to start hunting down some Archived Caches that are still in situ.

I was in the are today, so I loaded up the Archived Cache filter and spotted this one.

I was in the area chasing down a FTF, and saw this one was still available. Nice grab here, just as the sun is coming up. Listening to the black cockatoos chorus as the kangaroos hop away over the fields was quite serene.

TFTC Ian&Sue - Team Pathfinder.

Ian&Sue - Team Pathfinder, I found your cache B****r that's Deep!!! on 10/06/2016 at 7:04 AM.

Out in the area for the WA goes big event over the WA Day long weekend.
Managed to find several different cache types, designs and difficulty.
Made for a great few days out and about meeting plenty of new, experience and interstate geocaches.
Seeing the flags on all the cars as we were driving around made for a very interesting time, what a great idea.

TFTC! Had a great weekend attending the third instalment of wa goes big! What a blast!

Was meant to be two and a bit days of caching and catching up with some old faces I haven't seen for a while but after a family tragedy on Friday the weekend was shortened to just Saturday afternoon and most of Sunday.

Rocked up on Saturday and collected my welcome pack! Needed a semi trailer to bring it all home!! Best part was the car flags!! (If they have some leftovers I'd love a couple more!!). After going through the loot bag I chatted to a couple of people and somehow managed to miss seeing jacbsCrew who was waiting for me (sorry mate) and headed out to grab a couple of caches.

Just a couple? Was well worth more than just a couple!! That ValoForce hide?? Saved by the bell will have to go down as one of my favourite geocaches ever! I've been to most places in wa and that is certainly right up there with the best. Worth every hour of the 50(? I think) spent on it.

Ended up pulling Cravo10 up for the Saturday night dinner and getting Numbers Man out of geocaching exile to attend even though I warned him to wear a helmet to help deal with all the people who can't deal with metallophobia!! Luckily no one really noticed who he was as I intoduced him to most as simply a muggle!!

Fast forward to Saturday morning and I wake up to find my car window had been smashed overnight and my car ransacked! What better than heading to Pinjarra with Cravo to cure the blues, grabbed a bunch of caches around the WWFM event in the heart of Pinjarra, and a nice warm coffee from the bakery, poor guys didn't plan on a bunch of hungry geocachers strolling in at 8am!! Had the group shot and we shot through to grab a bunch of MS puzzle caches and some caches near ravens wood and on the way to Mandurah.

We managed to complete the weekends goal of 8 types in a day which was something good to finally knock off! Before we headed off to the CITO event which we had been planning for for quite some time.

After that we headed back down the highway home to remember what a great weekend of geocaching we had just encountered and that we certainly hope to be back next year!!

Thanks to all of the people who helped make the events a success, who volunteered their time to assist with the WAGB event and all the local cachers who put together a great bunch of new caches!

Thanks guys, see you again next year!

04-Jun-16
Well after finding 7 different cache types in one day during the WAGB 2016 event I couldn't pass up an archived hide to complete the day, so why not two. After descending from the nearby tree I wandered over to this one which I feel very privileged to add my name to Big Grin

Thanks Ian&Sue - Team Pathfinder

09-Apr-16
After doing some practise at the Marrinup Mountain Bike trail this afternoon for tomorrows first state Cross Country race of the year I had time to grab a few caches, so after ticking off a few Hotham Valley Rail Trail caches by bike I then jumped in the car to started knocking off some of the MS series that I have solved so far.

I spotted this one on my GPS and quickly realised that it was a fabled archived cache I'd seen mentioned in some other cacher's logs, and had researched and added to my to-find list. The cache was in great condition and I was the first to sign a new log sheet.

It's always great to find a cache back from when caching first started! Thanks for the cache Ian&Sue - Team Pathfinder!

Out with Mistraluna placing some caches for WA goes BIG 2016, so grabbed a few caches in the area we hadn't yet done. While grabbing some other tradis nearby, Evelyn said that there is an archived cache nearby still in place and good condition. So we stopped here and signed the log. We also used a new big plastic bag for some better protection in case there is other archived cache hunters out there Smile.

We were heading south and noticed a couple of archived caches Big Grin. After not attempting the high difficulty nearby, this was a nice quick find Smile. It is great to find such an old cache and I am happy to report this is still in good condition [^]

Geoson and I headed away for a boys trip and stopped by to grab some caches where the caravan would allow! This one was in the list and we soon had our name in the log book.

Ian&Sue - Team Pathfinder - jinta29 found your cache B****r that's Deep!!! on 17/07/2015 9:25 am. This is my find #3442 and find #2 today. The cache is in good shape and we replaced it as found. Thanks for placing this and bringing us to this spot!

29-Sep-13
After getting the low down that this one was still there, and as we were only a short distance away, I made my way to the Deep and fished it out. It is still in pretty good nick, other than the log book being very wet.

It's a shame that this one should be left to languish, as it is one of the 'golden oldies'! Maybe someone close by could adopt it?

Found this one on a beautiful Autumn day, out on a mystery tour with jasenjanine and their two littlies. Jase suspected that that there might be an archived cache still out here, waiting to be found, but wasn't sure of how to get here. So teamwork was used to get here. What a hoot, finding this cache, and still in perfect condition too. Last log entry was 2006 too. Spent quite a while checking out the goodies inside with the kids, while Jase read out the previous logs to us. Took some pics too. Thanks Ian&Sue for another fun adventure.

Knowing that we were heading to the area today for an adventure or 2, i had a quick look at our 'Archived Caches' bookmark (as i do), and quickly realised that it was quite likely that this one could still possibly be in place Surprised.
With our last minute travelling companion, Mistraluna on board, we headed to an area that she knew 'a little too well' by the sounds of things ... (we won't tell Evelyn .. honest) Razz. We parked up close by and walked the short distance down to GZ, with initial concerns that the area had been fenced off by Alcoa. The GPS'r then decided to settle a bit, and a likely hiding spot was soon pounced upon Big Grin. A quick prod or two with my trusty stick, and i was hearing a very satisfying sound in the hollow of that stump. Mistraluna was not waisting any time, and her hands were straight down into around six and a half years of mulch to retrieve the box Razz. We all had a sense of jubilation when the cache emerged from below in one piece, and we were even more ecstatic that it turned out that the contents were dry-as-a-bone inside [^]
We all sat around and perused the contents as i read the names & the logs from the logbook ... such history spanning such a relatively short time frame Big Grin. I felt privileged to have the opportunity to add our name to this log book ... 2380 days after it was last signed [^]Big Grin[^]
Thanks for placing this cache Ian & Sue ... bet you didn't expect another couple of logs on it, and don't be surprised if you get a few more Big Grin

GZ was pretty obvious as I approached, and I walked straight up to it. Cache was in good condition. Took nothing and left an emergency resus mask and a TFTC card. Went and had a quick gander at the viewing platform over at the car park, but left without the slightest idea what was so deep? Cheers.

Easy find on our way back from a Mothers Day outing. Cache was a little damp but we aired it out for a bit and re-wrapped it the best we could. Spotted quite a number of roos on the way back to the main road. Would pay to be cautious if doing this cache at night. Grew up in this area and it was good to come back to a spot we used to hike up to regularly. TN left a clip and SL. Thanks for the hunt.

Second find for the day at 7:45 AM. Nice easy find. Found the cache dry but the log book damp. Not too bad so left it there. Mind you got to try out my PowerTank pen. It does write on damp paper!

Took figurine and dead pen. Left Sieman's SL45 phone case.

Thanks for bringing me here. Didn't know about this road or area.

***** 100th Find for Bibra Boys *****

Not the most exhilirating place to notch up the 100th find, but pleasant all the same. Managed to get this one out the way before lunch.

Found with the help of Goosey.

Cache was dampish, so we cleaned out all the damaged gear, dried what was left and wrapped entire cache in another bag.

Found the cache easily. Contents were a little damp, as previously logged.
Took: caribina Left: coaster and earplugs.
Put a couple of sachets of silica gel into the cache to dry it out and placed it in a new zip lock bag.
Thanks for showing us another great place!

09-Aug-05
Almost didn't need the GPS to find this one, it's pretty obvious. Like to know who left the (as we used to say in the army) passion ration in the cache, and its still there. Contents are getting a bit damp, as the seal on the cache container is a bit ify. Might pay for the next person seeking this cache to take a plastic bag with them for the cache container.

Nice cache in an easy spot, a little wet but we fixed that. The view from the lookout was spectacular.

19-Jun-05
The final cache for the today for Gwiber and I on the way back to Perth from the Rogaine near Dwellingup.

Cache was very wet although the log book was a lot dryer in the sealed bag. As we had a towel with us the whole lot was dried out and I attempted to clean out the seal which had accumulated a significant amount of dirt. The paper items, other than the log book which is very dry in the sealed bag, may survive but were still damp as we put them back in. The spoons have gone a bit rusty but may last a bit longer now they are dry again.

I put the cache back on a small rock and placed a bit of bark over the top so that water is less likely to come directly in contact with the cache container. The area surrounding the cache was very wet after the constant rain this last week.

TNLN Thanks for the cache. Views along here are very good over the coastal plains.

Found on the way to watch Rally OZ, except gate into lookout was shut and locked thanks to Wesfarmers by the look. We just parked near the gate and climbed through the fence like many other people have done. Found the cache easy enough, everything inside box was slightly damp so returned it as best I could to keep moisture out.

Yep, found this easilly, it was a good lead in showing rookies what geo-caching is about. The next one (annie who) opened their eyes.
Tppk a stress ball and left a religious key-ring.

The rookies, uncle NAGA, Ken & Pat enjoyed it & look forward to more.

I had a job at a site about 1.5Km away and idly checked the GPS to see if any caches were nearby. Hence I came to look for it - totally unprepared, no logs and no pics. Went straight to it, the coords were spot on. The view is excellent, pity about the blight at the base of the hill.
Took nothing. The cache is slightly damp (not wet) from leakage into the box. Perhaps the next person could bring a waterproof plastic bag to protect it a bit better.

13-Apr-03
Found it, snug and dry after reasonable rains in the area. Left a stress ball, took a cow. (Funny how that last sentence seems so normal)

2:15 pm Sunday. We found it in the company of the Hop Gang. We drove right up to the area and let Hop find it using the GPS. He wandered around for a few minutes and the homed in on the most likely object...Presto there it was. Kids took the Baby figurine and we put in the battery pack for someone with flat batteries. We left some cool little surfboards from Kings Cache, and took a little purple racey car. Vroom vroom!

17-Nov-02
This was an easy find - not what we would expect from Team Pathfinder (we can actually drive right up to the cache). We all stand around the stump looking in and at each other deciding who is game enough to stick their hand in and retrieve the cache (it is snake season you know). Geodaddy says no, geokiddies want to but Geomummy says she'll do it. There was slugs all over the box - yuck! As I am always writing in the book I didn't get to see what went in the cache (toys I suspect) and a keyring was taken out. Off we go to Annie Who????

11-Oct-02
Found cache, took a while to get in found some nice four wheel driving on the way. Ended up crossing a main road just before the cache but! Took travel bug left key ring.

P.S. Its hard to tell whats private property and whats not.

Molly (Jonjaben) is enjoying the view from here!!
