What a beautiful Spot for Camping...and caching still No luck with the platypus! Tftc!!

On 22/8/2024 on a maintenance circuit from Launceston to Launceston via Low Head, Bridport and Scottsdale, Angus visits Scottsdale was given new so-ords after repeated comments about co-ord being 'out' or difficult. Hope this helps. I will add that the hint of 'blue' does not refer to flowers.
This one took a little while to locate on our visit to Scottsdale to see the chiro and do grocery shopping. I knew roughly where the cache would be just took a systematic search and then the cache revealed itself TFTC Angus
The co ords are more like S 041 10.011' E 147 31.333'We made the walk in here today, a nice spot we used to visit quite a lot when I was a kid. We made our way to GZ but nothing was to be found so a read of a few logs then off to the new GZ, cache was then found Nettieknows and I headed down to the east coast for a night away to visit Bicheno and do the wombat walk at nature world, along the way there and back we stopped to find a few unfound caches. Thanks for the cache
Thanks for the Cache Angus88, camped at the North East park, what a great spot, thanks Rotary and the local shire. Had a couple of goes at this one, found it once I had read some earlier comments. Took a walk/ride into town and passing through the reserve again, had a second look in the same spot and this time spotted it.Regards from Victourer
Looked all around the area but no success. Lots of the tree stumps are falling apart, if it was in one of those its not there now.
GZ took us to a gorgeous Ferny garden and the hint made us think it was hanging in the wisteria pagoda, but then other logs suggested that it was something that is blue all year around , a minute or two of neck craning had it located TFTC
Big thanks to Angus88 for creating this cache! Your effort brought an extra spark of excitement to our geocaching quest. This discovery was find number 1,113 for us, marking another memorable moment in our adventure. Living and traveling full-time across Australia in our Coaster Bus, we're always on the lookout for caches to uncover. Currently, we're in Tasmania, planning to explore this beautiful island for around 18 months or so. To see more of our travels, feel free to follow our journey HERE...
Yeh, so the coordinates are a little bit off, blue is the best hint though, and once I'd reasised that, a nice easy find. TFTC.
Tasmania Trip Day 11. My last big day in Tasmania was the journey from Hobart to Launceston. Most of the day was highway driving, but there were two counties to visit before arriving. Even then I still had two more counties to the north and east of Launceston, and that took another three hours, which brought me back to my accommodation juts in time for a fairly late dinner for me. I then had to rearrange my car so stuff was ready for tomorrows boat trip and then it was off to mixed nights sleep with lots of noise from revelers outside the hotel. There were lots of people camping, and even on the track into the park, I drew attention from people getting a meal ready on the edge of the campground. I hopped out of the car and walked towards the cache area. The Hint suggested one area and the gps another. I started with the gps and then moved to the hint. Then I banged my head almost on the cache. At least I found it.Thanks for the cache Angus8846083.20 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2006 November Signal A#54**Albida**
Looked for this one in 2021, and now after quite a few disables and moves we think the CO has nailed this one successfully ! Not literally, but you could say its screwed ! Hah. Anyway, GPS jumps around here so let things settle for a bit and all will be revealed. P.S. this reserve is a marvellous asset to the town. I hope visitors appreciate it as much as we do. TFTC Angus88.
TFTC! As we continue east around Tazzie, we stop in Scottsdale to stretch the legs and enjoy their amenities. Then off to find Anguss cache! After a long hunt we went back through logs and after reading the previous owners log and the hint, we quickly located the cache:) Happy hunting 2024!
TFTC. My gps was going nuts at GZ then I read the Angus note and Dumps made the find in an area I thought I had cleared. Woops..
After a little help from the owner we have found it The gps pinpoint is a little off by 20m or so. The hint was referring to " beyond blue" doesn't help that where the pinpoint is, there is a bush with blue flowers lol. If the flowers weren't there we would of looked straight over where the cache is hiding. A little hint "where the band plays" Thanks angus88 for the cache, and all of the caches you have provided. My son loves the treasure hunt
Camped here overnight, was excited to find this one. Unfortunately wasn't to be. Looked for a good half an hour in the usual spots but a dnf is all we got. Always a next time we're in Scottsdale
This is my second visit to Scottsdale and my second attempt at find this cache. And once again, I couldnt find it! Oh well, I guess that means I will have to come back a third, maybe even a fourth time, to find this cache. It was also a good opportunity to check out the camping facilities here TFTC Angus88Keep smiling
#722 ~ GPS was all over the place. Krossbo & I were having trouble locating the place to look. A quick message to the cache owner for some advice to narrow our search. We were just about to give up when one last look & the little sucker showed up. TFTC Angus88!!
Not easy with this one. But after 30 or so minutes eventually found it with Muddtrax. Our GPSs showed that we were way off with the coordinates so not sure whats happening here. Signed and returned to hide. TFTC
Find 4393 on September 30, 2023 3:56 PMOur last day in Tassie on our Tassie geocaching adventure. Today we made the push to the boat from Bicheno to Devonport. Nice quick find. This park is a great asset to the local community. All is well with the cache. TFTC Angus88
Found with dad on our way to Devonport for our trip back to the mainland TFTC
Jetstar was having a sale…. in the middle of winter, for a destination further south than I already live. That sounds like a great idea!
So a plan for a 4 night whirlwind tour of the northern part of the state was hatched. I’ve seen lots of this beautiful state, but haven’t found a single cache. With plenty of challenges to tick off, and a long list of targeted caches, this week is the time to turn that around.
Todays adventure takes me west from Launceston to St Helens via Beaconsfield, Low Head, Bridport and Scottsdale.
Initially my GPS was 10m off and not anywhere near where I thought the cache would be. I searched and the. Checked the hint and relocated. I found the cache and the gps settled a little closer to where the cache was found.
Thanks Angus88 for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

I think I will have to come back and stay in the camping area and have another look for this as it’s getting late in the day and I need to head home.

Find 1 of 4 on a short drive to Scottsdale and back to Derby. Not many caches round here, especially when one of the team is a bit banged up and not ready for long hikes.
Both of us got stuck in and Mrs O picked the right area of attack. Quick find.
TFTC Angus88!

TFTC Angus88!
After riding the rail trail here and collecting the last of the 56 GCA caches we headed back to the van which was camped at the nearby free camp area, grabbed the information for this one and rode the short distance to GZ. With two of us looking it didn't take long to find it. Then back to the van for happy hour and a well earnt drink after riding so far and getting so many caches. Thanks for yet another in this series Angus 88.
After parking up the geovan for the night nearby, we had a cuppa and a Tim tam, then wandered over for the quick find nearby

'Found' this evening by torchlight before crawling into the tent.
Shared this particular find with AlbyDangles.
It's the end of day 1 of *the great 3 Peaks caching escapade* in the NE; with stainless-steel-rat, AlbyDangles, gooseandegg, Tassie Trekkers and whitewebbs.
A great day out today, and then a fantastic dinner and camaraderie in Bridport this evening.
The hardy are now camping here in NE Park tonight; the wimps are 'more comfortable' at Bridport!
Thanks for the cache and the adventure.
Cheers, EPs.

My heart sank when I saw the size of the possible hiding place but thankfully a quick find. No log in there so signed on the back of a receipt in my bag and popped it in the container. Tftc
Back home we decided to tackle the caches that have been published since our last visit to this area.
Cache and contents were in good condition.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Adelaide to Hobart Road Trip
Day Four: Latrobe to St. Helens
Weather: perfect for geocaching.
This was a very brief visit to Scottsdale. I was keen to have a powered site for the van tonight, and that meant pressing on to St. Helens. I did have time for one cache though, necessary to claim Dorset LGA, and this cache here was the obvious choice, ironically set next to the unpowered campervan sites in town.
Unless I stumble upon “Angus Visits Hobart Airpot”, this is going to be the last one in this series for this trip.
Thanks for all the caches and the fun Angus88, FP for the series.

Partly cache find we found the string it hung from but cache not attached anymore & couldn’t find on ground.
A very pretty little park here.

good hiding spot but had to be cautious of the campers. TFTC

We visited this park many years ago for another cache and that time we thought it was a very nice little spot.
Returning today and it was again a nice spot to visit.
Found the cache without drama then went for a wander to try and find a Platypus.
No luck for us but there were plenty of duck to see.

Taking our young German visitor on a tour of the area, made sense to stop off quickly at this park and grab the cache. TFTC

Found it, but some water has leaked into the container and the signing paper is soaked. Needs to be replaced! When you replace it you should put the paper in a ziplock bag so when it is rain no the paper doesn’t get wet.
We were pleased that when we arrived at this location that campers had not arrived for the night. Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Angus88 for the cache.
Thanks for the cache Angus88.
Spending a couple of days in the north of the state with RLD4963 and the two GeoGSP's. Our main reason for this trip was to visit the lavendar farm at 'peak lavendar' - it was an added bonus that we could take the doggoes. After the lavendar farm we headed to Scottsdale to search for a couple of caches that have popped up since our last visit.
Love this location, there were quite a few campers, but lot of space - the doggoes enjoyed a splash in the water, and it was a nice quick find at GZ. Hope we can come back to this spot one day and spend a couple of days camping.
