No luck with this one The family and I had a pretty good hunt at GZ and the surrounding area without success.
Road trip to the 12 Apostles but a pit stop here at Apollo Bay.Arrived too late last night to appreciate the view so up early this morning for a sunrise stroll and a few caches.Final one in the bay before we move on. The novice in our group spotted the area that didn't look right and I then retrieved the cache - I think he is getting hooked!Really pleased to mark this beautiful lookout with a smiley face. Thanks and greetings from Leeds, England
Found it nice and easy with my mother and 2 nephews on our family trip driving the great ocean road .. enjoy this one a lot TFTC
After finding Awesome 7 years ago, it was time to collect this cache to complete the set. We enjoyed the sunshine and view this morning, but no hang gliders today. The little bunny was very interested in the gumnut babies in the cart nearby. TFTC.
Cracker of a day to walk up to the lookout. Everyone else thought so too. Played the waiting game to grab, sign and return the cache.
During our two-month trip through New Zealand and Australia, we arrived in Geelong this morning by night boat from Tasmania. From Geelong we drive to Appolo Bay via the Great Ocean Road.We drive by car to a lookout and this cache was found**Dromaniax**, thanks for the cache.
We are currently on a eight week holiday which is mostly spent in New Zealand and Australia. However, the first three days were spent in Singapore as a nice break from an otherwise long flight. We had about three weeks in New Zealand which went by too quickly. The remaining five weeks are spent in Australia. The last days were spent in Cradle Mountain which we absolutely loved. Yesterday we drove to Devonport and last night the Spirit of Tasmania will ferry us back to the mainland. Our destination for today is Apolo Bay. A short drive zo we have several stops for sightseeing and/or geocaching. This is the last stop before heading to our hotel. At the start of our walk to the top this cache is quickly found and logged without any problem Thank you very much for this cache.
On the 25th April 2021 I placed this guy, gee that is not long ago but a lot has happened in my life in that time. This cache along with over a hundred and fifty others have been adopted out to other folk who I hope are happy to look after these guys as the ageing Bushfire has developed a health problem that will only get worse so a big thanks to all these great friends. Finally, I must thank my good friend Drominiax for looking after this guy as it has got to the stage when I must pass it on and wish it good luck for the future. I know it is in good hands. And lastly, I will give it another favourite because I can now. Thanks for all the great logs that have been placed over many years.
Thank goodness! An absolute delight to find this. No, it's not so awesome but it was awesome for me having not found AWESOME. It was busy but a quick sneaky grab and sign. Thanks Dromaniax, this was awesome!
Tourist city up here. Almost couldn't park the car!!A nice clue here and this cache was soon in hand before heading up the hill to the lookout. Thanks for keeping this old bushfire cache going Dromaniax
Heck of a crowd here today and we were lucky to get a parking spot. A nice quick and easy find in between muggles of which none of them understood English. Thanks for the cache.
Quick find before an amazing view. I got it out with Wisewarrior and Littlehawk. TFTC
Out with Dippa46 for a little RNR time and found this one. Sorry for the late log. TFTC
TFTC! 12 June 2023 1:01:04 pm 5730
This one was a little harder due to muggle factor but a quick dash between people, made it an easier find!
A quick find with frmen1. Local farmer asked if there were any cows on the track as they break in often. Lots of pats, no cows. TFTC
Hello Dromaniax thank you for the cache
Found out in the open.
This was one of many caches found on our way back home from Newcastle seeing our grand children.

Such a gorgeous little area! Said hello to the residents before stealthily obtaining the cache. Thanks!
This was still awesome... I had to wait for a few muggles to head on up to the lookout, but once they were out of range a quick poke about with my walking pole and the cache was soon discovered. I signed and covered it back up with leaf litter before making my way down the hill.
Found while touring along the Great Ocean Road between Warrnambool and Apollo Bay today, dodging the rain showers as we go. A quick find on the way down from the walk. All good here.
Find #5240 on 3 Feb 2023.
TFTC Dromaniax!

I had seen the magnificent view from the lookout before, but the new cache and the fab view dictated that another visit be made. We found the cache before undertaking the walk to the summit.
Didn’t find it on the way up but gave it another try walking down. Suddenly it seemed obvious
Not to hard. We were interrupted but the guy who lives next door asking what we were looking for.
A little bit of a search but got it before a rain squall hit.
Thanks for the hide.
Thanks for the hide.

Went to check out the look out and wasn’t disappointed. Great views from up here. Well worth the trek up the hill. Found the cache in exactly the location of the GPS. All in good condition. TFTC enjoyed the find.

Happy Wear Two Different Coloured Shoes Day!!!
I decided to do a road trip along the Great Ocean Road this week. It’s been a long time since I travelled along this area and it was certainly before I was into caching! Today after my geocaching interview with ABC South West, I’m traveling from Sugarloaf to Lavers Hill.
I returned from the lookout to make a quick find at this not so awesome location. I spotted some muggles heading my way from the carpark, so I quickly returned the cache and set about “looking at my phone”. The muggles said hello and then asked if I’d found it…. Found what??? Turns out it was a local geocacher and her interstate friend coming to complete the cache also.
After chatting I discovered it was the CO of a cache I had completed earlier, and a puzzle I was a little confused by how to interpret a component. We chatted for a little while before I made my way back to the car to complete my journey. Sometimes timing is everything!
Thanks Dromaniax for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to find.

We were in the Apollo Bay area and decided to pop in and check out the caches we have recently adopted from Bushfire.
Everything is in place and ready to find.

In all the times I've been to Apollo Bay, I don't think I've ever been to the iconic lookout. At least now I can say that I definitely have been. And I've got the two finds to prove it.
This was the first of them and it still took a read of the hint before I was signing the log at 13:30. Now, up we go.
TNLNSL, although our BYO pen geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks Bushfire.

Made a quick find here on our way back down. Couldnt have a good look for the cache at the top. To many muggle picnics going on . But the view was amazing. Tftc
Looked everywhere where we thought it would be including using the hint and couldn’t find anything will try again another day.
Couldn't find it on the way to the lookout, but success on the way down.

Found it! Marriner’s Lookout has always been one of our favourite spots in Apollo Bay
We didn’t have a pen on us today but we’ll be back tomorrow to sign it.

Nice and easy find on the way down.Trouble with coordinates on way up. See the sights at the top first, then come down, through the gate, and find on the side you first thought out to be. Don't follow the geo trail over that fence into the blackberries. CIGC TNLN TFTC
Didn't find the one up the top of the hill but did find this one on the way back down, cache was open and in plain sight with a pen that would no fit, hid it a bit better then I found it.
Beautiful old house nearby, and a friendly dog.
Cache took a while to find as looking wrong side of track. Eventually found when expanded the search.

So we wake up to Lockdown 6, or is it Lockdown 5.1. Fortunately, we have a nice warm place to stay with excellent internet and a good selection of caches within a 5km radius for us to visit while we exercise. We had both done quite a lot of work and decided to go and exercise and pick up dinner from one of the many fine establishments here in Apollo Bay. After making our way up to Awesome, we found this cache on the way back to the car park. Due to the lockdown and the changeable weather, the car park was deserted, so we were able to make a quick find before jumping in the Geomobile A'Tuin to go and find dinner. The cache is in excellent condition. Thank you for this cache, Bushfire.
My good caching mate Dromaniax has placed a silica gel and a new zip lock bag into this guy today so that should keep it nice and dry for some time. Thanks mate.
Off on our first family holiday in a long time and taking the kids to see the sights of the Great Ocean Rd for the first time. After a big day on the road yesterday, today was for simple pleasures closer to home, like checking out rock pools and ambling along beaches. When we had had our beach full we headed up here bribing the kids with cheezals at the end.
We grabbed this one on the way back down and geohubby was the one who chose the right direction to head! Signed and put away with lightening speed between other muggle sightseers! TFTC

At least I found this one! After I'd opened the gate to some confused tourists who didn't seem to know which way to go.
An easy find here.
Thanks again Bushfire

Thanks again Bushfire
Needing to do some local cache maintenance we made a beeline to Mariners Lookout to make a quick find here. With the rain fairly constant we didn't make the walk up to the top but we do remember the brilliant views that it has to offer overlooking Apollo Bay and the ocean.
Thanks Bushfire for the 'not so awesome' cache placement but..... still worth it!

FIRST TO FIND SUSCOE
Well this was a surprise. We saw this cache published back on the 1st May and thought that it would have a finder by now. We were away at Mulwala for a few days and kept watching it, but still no finder.
The weekend came and went and still no-one had ventured down the coast to Apollo Bay.
So early this afternoon we decided to head down through the Otways to see what was going on at GZ.
The drive to Barwon Downs was fairly uneventful but as we rose up into the high Otways there was a bit of road works happening with what looks like some subsidence and some land slips still being cleaned up. We were also driving through fog and light rain and the outside temperature was around 9 degrees.
Finally the descent into Skenes Creek arrived and still no one had found NSA!!B.
So we made a beeline for Marriner's Lookout and with spaces left in the carpark we stopped and made our way to the listed Co-ordinates. We finally understood the details in the cache notes and after a short search the well hidden cache was found.
A blank log greeted us and our stamp was imprinted under the expected Red Ant stamp.
A pretty good view from the entry to the car park and the sky had cleared a good bit while we were there.
No time to walk to the other Awesome, we had to head home but first we needed a coffee from the main street.
Thanks to Bushfire for this hide in such a lovely spot and for the totally unexpected [FTF]. 10 days since publishing must be some sort of record for a Bushfire traditional not being hunted for and found.
Luck was on our side today we guessed.
A favourite for the view, the wonderful Monday afternoon drive and the hide of course.
