No luck

Nope nope nope. Everyone finds this cache. A DNF means this cache needs maintenance. It has been reported a few times that it's been attacked due to the use of a food container. I'm not around Orbost again until the start of next year (Jan/Feb). If reported found prior can be restored earlier but probably needs a new non-food container.

It was rather drizzly when GT37 and I arrived at this cache. We were pleased to make a quick find and were surprised at how chewed the container was. Thanks for bringing us here with this cache. We hope to come back again on a fine day so that we can take in the view.

Heading to the Mega event in Canberra, I planned a few caches to break up the trip and give myself a chance to stretch my legs. After a quick search, I got the log stamped.Cheers for the Cache

I came to check on the cache now that I don't have daily access to it. On the negative side I have some concern about goat tracks being made from the parking area to the cache. I also did a small clean up of rubbish from the site, but I don't think catchers are the only ones that come here. On the up side, this is still a special spot and an easy find for people that may not otherwise stop. The log is in a weatherproof container and the cache is frequently found. On balance I think it makes sense to continue this cache and to continue monitoring for impact. Thank you to everyone that has made or will make the effort to find the cache.

25-Mar-24
Visited it during 28-days geotrip to Australia, N.Caledonia, Vanuatu, Fiji, Am.Samoa, Fr.Polynesia with Marci, Ch. Sometimes we logged as "MT" or "Jonea" or "MTCh". Thanks for showing nice caches and places. MT-Jonea from Brno city in Czechia EU. Or.Ro

We are currently on a eight week holiday which is mostly spent in New Zealand and Australia. However, the first three days were spent in Signapore as a nice break from an otherwise long flight. We had about three weeks in New Zealand which went by too quickly. The remaining five weeks are spent in Australia. We were in Canberra for the last three days. Today we are going to Lakes Entrance where we will stay for two nights. Lured by the idea of a grand view and a cache we had a stop here. The beautiful view was a bit obstructed by smoke from the fires but nevertheless still enjoyable. Nice to see the road and the railway bridge. We had to wait for two muggles to move on but once the coast was clear the cache was found without any problem. Thank you very much for this cache.

25-Mar-24
We successfully attended the Canberra Walking Festival during our two-month trip through New Zealand and Australia. Today we leave Canberra and travel to Lake Entrance.Along the way we stop at a lookout with a cache. When a number of muggles were gone, the cache was quickly found.**FatFarma**, thanks for the cache.

So my sister has chosen to move back to Melbourne, and we are helping her to move back. So sat down and mapped out the fast route down and a slower route back, looking at where we might stop to collect a cache or two, and maybe fill some spots on the LGA map.In sitting talking to my dad (Cliff5009) about this, we came to realise that I do not have any LGAs in the Gippsland area. Well, given I was born at Orbost, and half the family still live from Warragul to Orbost, that seemed quite unlikely. So we sat down and figured out that since I started Geocaching in 014, I have not been back in that area.Well, we agreed that fixing that anomaly would make a lot of sense.LGA hunt number 1 for the day.Log now has my name in it and finally starting to fill some spots. Thanks for placing the cache!

19-Jan-24
I used to come here with my wife before we married, so as I was visiting Orbost, from QLD, had to locate this cache which was not before found by me, Thanks for bringing me back after 59 years, much has changed, except the view. The container has been chewed by a rodent, but otherwise all is in good condition

09-Oct-23
Found by Mary and David at 09:25. Delighted to have a deja vu moment. We used to have a cache here called "Lookout Snowy" between May 2003 and March 2017. The view towards Orbost and the old rail trestle was much more open back then - the trees have grown! Wonderful to see so much green after drought conditions further north. A FP for the memories. Your container may once have contained food, because the local rodents are gnawing away and have opened a large hole on the side of the lid, and a smaller one beyond that in the container itself, Perhaps a metal container would be better? Our thanks to FatFarma.

24-Sep-23
A bit spooky what with being scared of snakes and spiders, but a fun cache on our road trip!

27-Aug-23
What a grand view! It appears something has been nibbling the lid of the container so it will need replacing before it falls apart!

05-Jul-23
Quick find on a family road trip out of Lakes Entrance today. Lookout is a lot more overgrown than I remember. But still good and an easy find. Thanks.

27-Jun-23
What a Grand View to find today! Have always enjoyed stopping here to look over the Snowy River flats. Like other Cachers, I've found a previous cache in this spot. Thanks for this cache FatFarma.

PS: The Troll Dolls [TN6TR0] were with me on my caching adventures today.

14-May-23
Stopped by on my way West after a few days in Orbost and the view was very well worth the stop. Container has been chewed a bit by critters and no longer water proof but the hide is protected and log in good shape. Signed the log. Thanks

The rain was unstoppable today but it didn't stop us from getting this cache. This was spotted by the little bunny who appreciated the stamp in there. Not much of a view today but we're sure it's quite lovely. TFTC

Heading home from a weekend up at Cooma watching rock Crawling and thought we would put a few caches under our belt.
This one was a quick find. TFTC

04-Mar-23
I found the cache scattered about, outside the hide. The cache had a hole in it and I'm guessing it's been chewed. The pencil was badly chewed, the surface stripped away, although the leaded writing end was still okay. The log and other contents looked chewed too, and not much remains of the log. I left a new cache and log, plus the chewed pencil (lead end is okay) and a stamp, the only thing which seems to have escaped being chewed.
Maybe someone was silly enough to leave food, soap or some other animal attracting thing in the cache. (I once saw another cache chewed because someone had left soap in it.)
I include a picture of the gathered up old cache and contents. I took them to dispose of them properly.
I do like this view with the old rail line. From memory, I found another cache here some years ago.
TFTC FatFarma.

Today we set off in high hopes to travel to Bermagui for a bit of a break. We were lucky the rain held off for our trip, and although we were held up a few time with the road teams clearing up the land slips from the very heavy rain earlier this week, it wasn’t too bad and even with a few stops for caching got there in good time.
This was one of our finds for the day.

Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache FatFarma.

The scrub up here seems to be getting scrubbier after La Nina rains last year. The cache is in good condition. Great view.

28-Dec-21
The work year has finished, so it’s time to head off on another road trip - to explore ‘The Pointy End’.
DAY THREE: Lakes Entrance, Bairnsdale
Great views! Too early for picnic lunch so morning tea (banana) instead.
Thanks for bringing us here today by placing this cache, FatFarma

28-Dec-21
Day 3 of the Bring In The New Year (BITNY) road-trip. Today we packed up camp at Woods Point and headed back west towards Bairnsdale via Nowa Nowa and Lakes Entrance to name a few. Today I will hopefully travel through my last UBD map and tick off another LGA on my list.

A cache with a view. A nice quick find after enjoying the views before we leave Orbost for good.

Thanks FatFarma for placing this gamepiece in the wild for us to find.

Inspected after the rain this week (45mm in Orbost). Top of cache holding some water but contents of cache dry, not a drop in sight. Popped a few more small tradables in because it's fun. Happy hunting caches.

05-Jun-21
A quick find while enjoying a day out. Took in the views before undertaking a different search - that being lunch.

Yay, another *FTF*. Having got a ftf on my way down from Canberra a few days ago, I kept an eye out for some more to be published. Sure enough, when I looked this morning before heading off to drive home, this one was here. Thanks for the new caches, I look forward to more when I next drive down. This was a nice quick find. I remember finding one here previously.
