What a great machine, just as well we looked at the hint as this could have been a nightmare to find with all the hiding places. TFTC TNLN

02-Sep-24
Incredible piece of machinery with a unique story behind it! Fortunately there were enough people with an interest in this machine to retrieve it's sad carcass before resurrecting it to the condition it is now which is probably the centre piece of Red Cliffs . . . apart from the red cliffs that is!TFTC

Out plans changed due to the rains so we needed to flip our route and start our desert crossing from dalhousie Springs and finish at birdsville. Now at birdsville we are stuck here due to all roads being closed for now. Anyway back to the cache.Nice place for a hide and we took some photos here.TFTC

First stop on our exploring round town. We have visited Big Lizzie before, but obviously not found the cache. We are always in awe of the actual size of the machine and its specialized wheels. Some amazing ingenuity and engineering on display.Moving day today, but only a very short drive from Mildura to Red Cliffs. Then a bit of a look round town. Geocaches took us to Big Lizzie and the Red Cliffs Lookout.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Washawa.**SKI Pair****

On an west to east and back roadtrip, today is a lay over in Red Cliff. As tourists we made sure to stop by this by this tourist attraction while in town. As the man set the story to play, I headed off to find the feature indicated in the manual. Was expecting a more involved hunt based on the D rating, but had the cache in hand in quick time. I'll take it. Thanks for the find Deputy Washawa

Stopped here for lunch after driving out of the Murray-sunset national park. Also stopped here to start the nearby multi. Nice park. Lizzie is big, Cache was found by Mogni. Good to see you didn't put a nano on big lizzie.Out with Mogni for a 3 day weekend, leaving friday morning and coming back sunday night. The plan was to go to Cowangie in Victoria and then head in to Murray-Sunset National Park then head on to Mildura and come back via Rufus River road ( in New South Wales ) to South Australia. Night 1 was in the Murray-Sunset National Park at Mopoke Hut camp ground and Night 2 at Mildura then going back to Adelaide. It must have rained recently in Murray-Sunset since the sand wasn't like fine power as expected and other sections of the National park had bypass tracks around the water filled ruts in the main track. Going around one of the bypass tracks i staked a tyre on the friday but didn't notice it to saturday morning. The stake went right beside the tread and the inside wall of the tyre, the stake was the size of my finger tip. Also turns out that i got a screw in my rear tyre thrusday night leaving work. There was alot of reinflating tyres this trip. The flora change in the national park was surprising but i figured that is due to weather or not the ground was sandy or muddy. When we got to Mildura we targeted the 2 multi's mogni wanted to do and of course they were the ones with 7 and 11 stages. After that we targeted the caches with high amount of favourite points and then left the next day via New South Wales so we could get the virtual at Lake Victoria and some of the older 2003 around the border track. A good weekend away 4x4ing.

Sir_spectre and I decided we needed to get away for a few days, so off to Murray Sunset NP and Mildura we went. Not a huge number of caches were found, but we had a great time exploring the NP. We fixed anything we could. Thanks to Washawa from mogni

26-May-23
Southern Autumn adventure Day 51. Mid North section of SA trip Day 22. Mount Barker 2. Today and yesterday and tomorrow are really transitional to me getting to Mildura in time to do the Paddle Steamer with friends from Canberra. I journeyed to a spot about 35km South of Loxton near a location called Veitch via Murray Bridge an Karoonda for lunch. Before I left I spent an hour or so near Mount Barker having a final go at a few multis with difficulties and other local caches. The rain started while I was out and did not let up for the rest of the day. As I traveled, I did manage to stop a few times, getting wetter all the time, but I was keen to find some caches. At the final stop for the day I found a remote patch of roadside rest area and sat quietly till it was time to leave the next day.

I have seen this big tractor a few times, and it never fails to impress. AT least the cache was exactly where it was said to be.

Thanks for the cache Washawa

Took a while to find this cache, and I almost gave up..a.strange muggle kept watching me.as i pretended to admire this big beast....more muggles joined me taking photos..I had one more walk around and I saw something and the light bulb went off...excited I look and spy the cache but retrieving it had to wait until the muggles left..fav point for point of interest and execution very nicely played.

Nice easy find and well disguised to blend in. I had to dodge some tourists wandering around reading the info board and one wandering back and forth on their phone.
The angled information boards along the side make a stealth nice place to log fill in station I found.
I had to wait for some muggles that wandered through and sat in plain view of the hide. Luckily, they continued on their way once the rest of their group arrived. I was able to return it quickly with no one seeing. The park had quite a few people in it tonight, enjoying the summer sun.
