Almost every day is a dot day for us we are currently on a 45 day streak which we are hoping to continue until we leave town. Found by E. Took us longer to walk the final 60m than it did to find. TFTC
Wow some long grass here a fair few deep bits to fall into . definitely got my heart rate up took a fair bit of finding but signed. had a look at riding up on the bike but the wall put paid to it, did think about going around it but in hindsight.. was a good decision
TFTC wow such long grass qand came it from wrong side also not a dot day but favorite from me just the mission alone
Today was a dot day for us so this seemed like the perfect cache to find. The walk in was a bit of a mission but the ground and grass was dry which made this far easier than it could be. After a good look around, some communication with the CO was needed and after that, Boom! TFTC TT and thanks for the help.
Decided today was the day for this cache , I am currently trying for 2 caches every day so I guess this is a dot day for me. Had been for a walk here before but no luck that day. I remember the difficult walk in so wasn't keen to rush back. Had talked to one of the more recent finders and knew I didn't need to be looking in the trees. Read some more logs and then the helpful hint from the CO on the cache page. ie use satilite maps . And there it was. Yah. Still took me awhile to find but very happy to have this smile today
Thanks TT for bringing me to this interesting place. Didn't know it was here.

Day #8 of my Summer Holiday and 2 more days in Invercargill before heading home. Out exploring around Oreti Beach today. Well bit of a mission getting to this one and found the track easy enough with Satellite View but then the fun began when I had to divert off to get to GZ. Fell over once on the way there.
Co-ords were spot on as after 5 minutes of fruitless searching and also sporting a branch hole on the forehead I stopped to read logs, looked up and blow me down (seriously tho...please don't...I've already fallen over haha) there it was right in front of me!!! YAYYYYY!!!
Didn't like going through the long grass with my ankle still a bit sore from a caching injury 8 weeks ago but managed ok...fell over twice on the way back and with bare arms in the long dry grass I'm itching like heck now. Started to rain as I got back to the concrete block fence. Wouldn't want to come for this one after lots of rain!!! What an adventure that was TFTC and I have completed all my dot days in 2020 being that it was a leap year. I started geocaching in March 2016 so it took me 4 years!!!

Man did my failure to read the description cost me some energy scrambling through head high grass and knee high tree branches. Came from the entirely wrong direction. Circled the grove of trees twice and scoured everywhere that matched the hint. Nothing. No way its been muggled so most likely just plain cache blind. Might build enough enthusiasm to try again in a few years time. Best of luck next cache hunters.
Most days are dot days for me. I kept this for a good day. It took a while to spot. Tftc
Well that was a mission lol walking through knee high clumps of grass on a day after it had rained, shoes full of water is always fun lol, luckily it was a pretty quick find, tftc
I finished with the dot day business about 3 or so years ago only to soon start on a challenge up Nelson way that requires four finds per day. Only 20 caches to go and it should all be done by the end of next month. None needed today but thats not going to stop me. All went well until it was time to go cross country over that nice easy grassy patch. The smugness soon left my face when I discovered that it was extremely uneven and there was no way of knowing what my next footstep would encounter until placement. Almost there and I discovered a trail which was much easier going. Got to DZ and muddled about for a bit before deciding to tackle the interior. No luck there but on exiting, there it was righ there and clearly visible. Once the paper work was completed and replaced I followed the trail back to the 4WD track. It only became indistinct in the last few metres. An experience a little different from the normal earns it a favourite point from me.
Not a Dot day for me nor is tomorrow.
I managed to tidy up all my dots last year
So today after Annielin and I met in the war room to plan our strategic plan to nab this one .
Is the best we Attack from the ground or the air ,from the north, south or east mabe the west .
we have herd about circles like this form Roswell so what to expect . Are we going to meet some geocaches from out of town or out of this world just hope not to get abducted be interstellar travelers .
After the plan was made we sprung into action and just approached the gz from foot . We kept a low profile as not to fall victims to there scanners .
A short search soon had the secret documents in hand and we quickly did what we needed to do and made our way out with out being spotted.
these crop circle cant be trusted.
Getting out and about in the out doors is my happy place so any excuse to go caching.
Life is short. Live one foot step at a time.Never say" I'm gonna "- Just do it!!
Thanks for the hide

Had to think about the why and who placed this here. Still none the wiser, maybe it was planted by our neighbors from another galaxy....
Anyways figured out a sensible spot to land our cachemobile , enabled the cloaking device, and set forth to track it down.
Only went A over T a couple of times, but was prepared for that eventuality, having been in that area a while ago...
Anyways, soon zeroed in on the gz, and quickly found the container, completed the paperwork, and headed out. No more dot days to bother me either , as I finished that off April this year!!
Thanks TT!!

2nd go at this one. The first time a myriad of places it could be...like finding a (pine) needle in a (pine) tree stack! A msg to CO confirming coords were good, yup they were, so off again today. Taking more time searching the level suggested finally spotted the sneaky wee thing. My dot days are all done and dusted last year, concluding a 366 day streak so no pressure for me to fill in those days. Tftc TT
TFTC!! Great hide took a while to find. Was pleased to find a loop track. Followed my nose along track out to beach then back to car park. Fab wee excursion!!
Driving home planing to drive out after work tomorrow on Dot day. Then remembered that today is Tuesday dot day the 25th.
So home to get better footwear grab the son to go for a drive. Parked up the track as far as the blocks then walked through the incredibly long grass. Glad it had been dry today. Then search about 15mins and found. Then back out. Grass felt as though it was re freezing.
We also have wondered about this tree circle. tftc.

Having completed our dot-days previously, it’s FTF that we chase today. Scopes out the cache in satellite view - that looks cool, a dot in the middle of a circle.
Got out of the car with two wagging tails and ventured into the frosty grass. Waist high no longer wasted on us, and we are still 65m away!
So tried an impression of walking on water (frosty grass) as it’s early Sunday morning. After falling over (should have done a snow angel , but only thought about that now we’re back in the car.
Cache found 9:15am, and signed MM78 due to the dottie nature of the cache. For the record, we completed our dot-days a while ago.
Tftc and ftf on another TT cache. FP here too

Cache 683 Well today isn’t a dot day for me, neither is tomorrow my only dot day is a couple of years away so I thought why wait, I had seen no activity on the cache so I thought I’d chance the FTF, got the geo pups ready and made an excursion out towards the beach, hmmmm another car but I didn’t recognise it. So the pups and I made a bee line for GZ Only to spot a figure popping in and out of the trees “I’m here doing the same thing, have you found it yet?” I call out “nope still searching” comes the reply, so we introduce ourselves was finally nice to put a face to the name of the penguin king RaynPengi. Soon we spotted the hidden gem and opened it with anticipation only to have been thwarted in our FTF hunt by about an hour by the Chosens (well done), now to get back out of here, the grass here is so hard to walk through for some reason, lots of holes and raised tufts making it a mission in itself but we made it out alive T4TC
I now only have 4 dot days left, the next 4 days! I was just going to recce this one to save for my last but the struggle to get to GZ was so hard I thought no I'll take it. Then saw trudging slowly through the grass another hunter with a pack of dogs! Can I find it before she gets here? No! So we both looked for a while chatting away, only to find we had something in common - our fight to bring down Captain Fishbeard. The shout went up "found it" so can claim half for this one I guess. Now to head back home to dry out my feet. The pack of hounds made a nice geotrail out for us.
