So good to find we had the right TOTT to hand, but it still took a bit of time to complete the task. However, we were pleased to find the regular stream of passers by all checked to see if everything was OK . Yeah, yeah, it's just another Macwatt cache we were tempted to say... But didn't. Luckily we work in pairs, so one sat in the open, brightly greeting everyone before they could suspect the other of doing something furtive in the bush... even though he was! Earns a fave from us. Cache is damp, but no problem. TFTC
It was a great find! We all enjoyed coming and out and using our tools to get into it. Well made!
Our first try was unsuccessful, because we didn’t have a tool. Today we brought the tool and after 5-10 minutes we were in . Unfortunately the box was full of water. Tftc
Great find loved the hunt. Tried to get rid of all the ants but left a trackable
We are staying nearby and called in here yesterday but didn’t have tools with us, so came back today. The pathway was quiet with only a very occasional walker or cyclist early this evening, so our efforts weren’t interrupted. We saw a very similar cache during our travels in the South Island last year so wonder if it had inspired this one? Worth a fave but we don’t have any to give at the moment, sorry! TFTC Macwatt Kahluis!
Finally out to do this one with the right tool kit in hand. Just what everyone has in their handbag Sometimes it pays to be local as if this was out of town for me it could have been very annoying. Quite quiet on the track today and it was nice to be close but also nicely concealed. This area is very popular with bikers, runners and walkers so be careful popping back on the track. TFTC
Holy moly, ant co-lony! We located this one many moons ago but lacked the equipment to access the log. Many times since then, we have headed out and forgotten to bring bring tools of the trade! Finally, we returned tonight and, under cover of darkness, got to work! There are ants all over it and they seem to have set up home inside it. A favourite point from us for the simple puzzle that couldn't be solved without the right gear! TFTC
A day in Tauranga with eyespyben and ABCDF4 to grab a few caches. We had specific ones in mind but also did a few others should we pass them en route. a most enjoyable day that also included FishnChips down at the wharf before heading home.
This one required a number of visits before we were able to get our hands on the log. Initially we did not even attempt as we had no tool. Then it was back but we were still failed at the last hurdle. Back a 3rd time and that brought success. Pleased we replaced and went on happy. Thank you for the placement.

This one has been sitting on our to do list since its release, each time we left home for a cache trip to Tauranga we'd get to about Pukehina and we would ask each other "did you remember to bring the DeWalt and all the bits?" Each time the answer was, "I thought you were bringing it" (usually followed by "what kind of a builder are you!" by one of us.......)
This time we remembered, I was a good builder again so all was good.
Nice quiet fine but brisk morning and soon we arrived at GZ, right, checked our arsenal of bits and checked what was required, success, all bits accounted for in the first visit.
Maybe when it comes to maintenance bring your Spline, Six Lobe Tamper, S-Type and Clutch bits, I may or may not have added a few extra screws in..........

I'd just managed to catch the tail end of a conversation centering around some Rotorua locals coming to Tauranga for a clean up... I jokingly (NOT JOKINGLY) told them to "pick me up on the way!" In the end I joined Davidson Clan, Squirrelnutcase and Fap'n'Gap which was rather convenient as they have much sharper eyes than me
This cache was a bit of an after thought so we had to travel back home for a nice selection of tools. As we were walking to GZ I pondered how I'd explain the contents of my back pack should the need occur... but it did not. Ultimately I'd learn the difference between imperial and metric which would require us to embark on a quick visit up to The Warehouse and back again Got into the cache nice and quick after that.
Easy favourite here, cheers Macwatt & Kahluis - TFTC

Arranged to cache the afternoon away in Tauranga with (Mr) Davidson clan. Then the phone calls started coming in, and we were joined by Gap (of Fap and Gap), and Phillip.Perry. This will be fun…
This was an excellent challenge and one we were pleased to find as a group. There’s absolutely no way we’d be able to knock this one off on our own. It requires TotTs that we simply don’t have…
We rerouted and collected someone’s toolkit. It was a comprehensive assortment and contained what we thought would do the job… It didn’t. We got so far towards accessing the logbook, but had to drive away and purchase one essential tool. There are not a lot of options at 6PM. By the time we returned for the cache, it was dark… This required an expenditure of time, energy, and a little bit of money. Who’s complaining though? Definitely not us… Thanks Macwatt and kahluis and TFTC.

what do i say about this one.
this was not a well made plan. none of the required TOTT on board with us this afternoon.
so a made dash back to gathering someone's tool kit.
hopefully we had everything in it. no dynamite though.
arrived at GZ nearing on dark. guess what we didn't have a number 5.
not to be outdone off to the warehouse and purchased number 5.
soon had this well made cache opened.

Noted this one when it came out but happened to forget we'd need tools, oops! Lucky we were in R's ute and he had everything we needed (with a little improvising). Gz was hard to be quiet on as people went past haha but knuckled down disassembling. Appreciate the solid work gone into this design, fp from us!
Found this cache today and must have had luck on our side as we somehow succeeded. GZ was quickly located amongst an area filled with broken dumped roof tiles. Strange. The cache puzzle itself was solved surprisingly quickly but we were missing one of the required utensils. However, use of kiwi ingenuity and our makeshift attitude prevailed and the cache was found. Thanks for the amazingly crafted cache Macwatt, FP from us. Took Trabant Travelbug from cache (it wasn’t so secure in there after all!)
I checked this hide out yesterday and found that my partial toolkit was inadequate, especially lacking an important key to solving the puzzle. As this is far too good a cache to spoil by McGyvering, I decided to head out along the river and leave this for another day. Today, I hoped that I was fully tooled up and headed out. I thought there might be a further complication and was rather disappointed when there turned out to be no twist in the tail but that's just me. Now to put the damn thing back together. Thank goodness for ratchets! As this thing is effectively bombproof, I dropped in a TraBant. TFTC & FP.
{FTF} 10.50am. Well that was a nice surprise. After waking up ;this morning and seeing the new cache I contemplated what I might need. I had an appointment in town for my father, so I ran around sorting out my ToTT box!! I was armed with everything I thought possible apart from the kitchen sink! When I was just about to leave home, muggle hubby gave me a full set of some of his tools, I laughed an said, okay Ill put them in the car but surely I wont need that....Oh how wrong was I...Got to GZ and thought oh thats easy then on further inspection thought, mmmmm how did hubby know LOL, back to the car to retreive said tools then it was an easy extraction after that. I carefully placed bits in order on a piece of rubble nearby (even took a photo) so that I could reassemble as description said. Thanks for the fun McW and a FP for something different.
