Found on day one of my Townsville trip. I could certainly feel the warmer climate up here, but some of the views around town are phenomenal, the water is really clear in parts!I will say that the caching scene in Townsville really does not disappoint (so far!). Thanks for the fun!

Oh boy, of all the places to be watched you know this is it. A bit odd but a careful stand and observe spotted what was needed. Very nice!Another day on Magnetic Island, aided by the scooter (motorbike) to get around. Given the warm temperatures the cool breeze was pleasant and a fun way to travel and see the sights. With great parking and only $5 to refill for two days, it was very nice.Exploring by caching, a few walks, scenic lookouts, coastal views and a Jetty. The forts walk was warm, but worth the effort. Enjoyed the area and the history and spotted a few koalas with babies close to the path. After a well earned icy cold smoothy and lunch, we took the short trip on the ferry back to Townsville. With good caching by the foreshore and the refreshing coastal breeze, it was caching by scooter on the paths till my phone battery ended and off to set up camp for the night. Warm, tropical, and chirping gechos, I do love the geckos!

Finished another long trip around Australia. The 6th. Next up to Townsville to grab the Palm Island LGA. Only 2 LGAs to complete Australia.Firstly heading back south for some Canberra time.TFTC. Another day scooting (motorbike) and caching.A couple of long hikes to see views, koalas and the old WWII forts hidden in the hills.A ferry back to the mainland was followed by electric scootering along the busy Strand walk doing caches, ECs and ALs.Wow. A great finish to an uncomfortable search.

We were in Townsville Australia for the day on our ship - Holland America's Volendam. We had an ambitious route of caches and Adventure Labs planned; however, we succumbed to the heat much earlier than we thought we would. So, we wound up completing a Lab and its Bonus at the Jazzine Barracks , doing 5 Stops across 3 others, and found 1 other caches at the Police Station.#####################This Cache: We got close to GZ and did not want to look suspicious or get into trouble around this place. So, Marbles went inside and came out with an employee, who gave us a big Hint. We chatted a while and then moved on.

01-Feb-24
Unique. Thanks. Greetings from Holland

This year was an alternate year for my biannual Crooked Christmas Catch up with my in laws in Townsville. However, a 50th birthday celebration provided a short flying NQ visit this weekend.Last day of the visit and after some family duties were attended to, I managed to slip away late in the morning to grab a few caches. I think I had a DNF at the nearby tree on one of the many times it went missing, but I can't see this hide going missing. Arriving at GZ, I followed my phone to the coordinates and then spotted something suspicious. I have found a few caches similar to this, but this is a standout for its execution. It put a smile on my mug(shot), which deserves a favourite point. Well done Burgo78. Pete#7,623

Found with LJB54. As is typical of this CO, it never ceases to amaze us that the simple things make the best caches. We had a fair idea of where to start our search with a hint from the CO but were extremely surprised with this one. Nice touch burgo78 spreading the geocaching word too.An FP from us for the originality and we added our name to the log TNLN TFTH

Well played! Overlooked once or twice but when found had a giggle. So fun!

19-Aug-23
Found after this mornings event. Building was closed on Satuday but still busy here setting up for a triathlon over the road. Quickly located the suspect container and apprehended the log without incident, before leaving print and returning it to the scene of the crime. Thanks for an unusual cache burgo78.

16-Aug-23
Has a brainwave overnight and hired a scooter to ride down and grab this at first light. I looked right there last night and can't believe I missed it! Crazy! Thanks for the cache.

16-Aug-23
Found 14:14 16/8/2023 after a policeman came out a gave a hint. A great hide. Thank you burgo78 for the cache and bringing me to this location.

15-Aug-23
Feeling very conspicuous getting down on hands and knees with a torch to look for a cache in front of a police station! Even if it was closed. Had a look as best I could but couldn't turn it up and didn't want to crawl in further. So will leave it there for now. I'm sure it's in there somewhere.

03-Aug-23
Love this cache, well done.

29-Jul-23
Hard to notice Wink

Apologies for the late log here (07.01.24) but I've had a busy time since getting back to the UK.I always appreciate a cache that makes me laugh (often at myself) and thus this fun one gets the thumbs up from me - thanks for the chuckle and self-kicking here on a sunny day as I headed back towards my car and the next phase of my 19,000Km wander around Oz. TNLN-TFTC!SP (UK) on an epic trek right around the world.

17-Jul-23
We fuond muggles but not the cache

15-Jul-23
Wasn't sure what to expect here, but was pleasantly surprised and amused when I opened my eyes and saw the cache. Nice idea here, well executed.

A Saturday off before some more tasks tomorrow so keen to make the most of it. Got dropped off at 0900 at Jezzine Barracks and wandered up and down (and under!) The Strand and covered just over 18kms on foot before investing in a taxi back 'home'. A productive day, though not massive numbers, and a few Ad Lab stages, but enough to keep ticking over and seeing more of Townsville's charms. Thanks to all COs for their efforts.

15-Jul-23
Bilby was able to solve this one quickly. Bumblebee was looking for something traditional, but this little super sleuth was right on top of it. So proud. Signed the log and off we went. TFTC.

13-Jul-23
Could not find it on the first visit. Second visit still took help from a previous finder. I think it is a mix of the few strange containers around GZ that it could be but aren’t, the building itself being quiet conspicuous, the hint had me looking up all the different meanings for the title, and in the end that the container/log is not the kind we always see or are used to seeing in geocaching. So fav from me. TFTC

We were hoping this one wasn't going to be under but thought the high fav points would preclude this.
Then, Mrs TiedyeSmileys (who was holding Benji the geopoodle nice and secure) went for a cliser inspection and we soon had the cache in hand.
Have another fav point
TFTC and greetings from Tassie

Today (Christmas Day 2022) has marked the milestone of my 1000th find. To celebrate the occasion I am awarding this cache its 50th favourite point. Once at the coordinates I soon realised some photos that other cachers have shared in their logs are red herrings. Cutting to the point I quickly learnt not to pick up the phone. I made the mistake of picking it up and it starting dialling the police station in the city . I then went to hang the phone back in place and it kept falling of the hook and starting to initiate new calls. After finally getting the phone to stay in place a muggle pulled up to see if I was ok as they thought I was trying to ring for help. I then kindly explained the game, they wished me luck and headed off. I then started thinking about the amount of favourite points on this hide and what I would consider a FP worthy spot. Moments later I had signed the log sheet and was getting a selfie at GZ. Thanks for placing and Maintaining this cache for the geocaching community to enjoy. Merry Christmas.

28-Nov-22
A clever cache. It’s drawn a great level of favourite points and lots of favourable logs and is certainly worth a visit. Given the location it’s highly unlikely that muggles will be muggled too further adding to its genius. Happy to have located this after failing to locate Sand Bank a little further down the Strand earlier in the day

17-Nov-22
#4257 I once had a cat called Muggles. Lucky it was unlocked. TFTC. Found with GM both traveling from Cairns to Townsville.

I’ve seen a cache similar to this brilliant one in bredbo NSW. However that one wasn’t at a police station. It’s not in the phone folks, someone might answer
