Out and about today to find a few geocaches to top up todays date on my 'My Finds' colander. I am approaching 20 loops, counting adventure labs, but also there are a few dates I really need to top up to complete 19 loops without adventure labs and today is one of those dates. Found after a short search. Onto the next one up the road. Thanks for the cache.

On the home run now, getting late. Last cache of the day - #20.
More grass, more prickles - cache soon found and we too opened the wrong way first. Log was soaking wet and not able to dry in the wet plastic bag, so replaced not back in bag in the hope that some dry weather will dry it out. (no hope of drying inside a plastic bag...) Made some sort of mark on the log as best we could.

After finding a few more caches in Bell early this morning it was time to head to Bunya Mtns and a few detours along our way with E_Smiley.
Oh so many schools!, never seen so many as I've come across in these districts, nice to see good record keeping of the local history.

Yamsion School
1.5 1.5 Regular

Found by Team DES (Domsky, E_Smiley, Snickersallan) on our way home (via Bell/Bunya Mountains) from attending the very enjoyable QOGM (Queensland Outback Geo-Muster) 2021 Paroo. Can't wait for QOGM2022 Murweh!

Thanks for the cache and taking us here Speedmistress. Pleased to see another school.

We were travelling 3.5 weeks in Queensland's beautiful Outback - between Barcaldine and Cunnamulla. We attended the QOGM event 2021 and are now heading home.

On the way home we are doing little detours for sightseeing and caching. Exactly the reason what brought us here!

As part of our Dalby road trip we headed out to Bell and its surrounds for the day. The weather was great for caching and the rural roads were fairly quiet. Many thanks to both Speedmistress and Strongbow77 for placing and maintaining the caches for our enjoyment.

Monday. Spotted the container in it’s hidey hole and we signed the log to claim another smiley for the day. Good use of this sort of container for a cache container Smile

This was the 43rd of 49 caches found on this outing.

Thanks ***Speedmistress*** for showing us this place Razz

As I rolled to a stop noting where the sign marked the site of the school I let out an audible groan at the 'field' of cobbler's pegs that lay before me. I was much relieved when I noted the direction of GZ. A quick wander and happy to find the cache area devoid of those nasties! TFTC Speedmistress.

What to do on a cool but sunny Thursday morning? [?]
We pondered this & other mind-blowing questions over coffee & Mr VC offered a suggestion.
"There are about 9 FTFs out west a little that we might have a chance at securing ... plus several other caches as well." I said to Mrs VC, huddled snugly in a blanket.
"Where?" responded Mrs VC. [?]
"Oh, out near a quaint little place called Bell." I said before going all in with "About 3 hours away."

After the nuclear fallout had cleared we made up & bundled Winter the Geo-Cat into the Geo-Beast then hit the bitumen with a mission in mind. Big Grin
9 FTFs ... I wonder if we can get at least 1? [?]
This was find #16 & FTF #8 today so far. Smile

A nice quick park and grab find, out of the way of prying muggle eyes.
Not that we have actually seen too many muggles today which has been a pleasant surprise. Big Grin
Our trip has certainly paid dividends with all these blank logs today! Surprised
I guess being a weekday workday may have kept the more 'local' chasers at bay? [?]
Despoiling yet another log we made our mark & replaced as found.
