Short Trip Away Day #1 [23/11] of 3To start my holidays, I decided to head over to Canberra for a short trip away. This trip of course included geocaching. I left home just after 7am and slowly made my way over while finding caches along the way. I had an early lunch at Gold Creek KFC and decided on finding the mini power trail along Majura Ln towards Sutton. A nice easy going PT and it was a nice quiet road for it. Next I found a few caches around Sutton and then I started heading over to motel but not before finding an evil hide by Loci612 plus two other quick finds. Lastly I checked into the motel had dinner and went to sleep. TB visit. A big thanks to the CO for adding this cache to game for the Geocaching community to enjoy. TFTCs!
Out this morning to grab this series. Caches generally found OK unless noted. Thanks
My family and I headed down from Brisbane to Canberra to spend the Easter break visiting relatives living here. The lure of a Mega event in town at the same time was just a coincidence, honestly .After an enjoyable stay, sadly today was the day I had to commence the long drive home. With rain falling as I departed and an extreme wet weather event forecast further north I was apprehensive as I started the drive and my relations were urging me to stay another day to avoid the predicted heavy rain. As a result I was fairly sure I wasn't going to get any caching done today and intended just cautiously making my way north as far as I safely could.I was not far out of Canberra when the rain had all but stopped, so I took advantage of the fortuitous conditions to stop to find this cache. A number of cars came past as I was pulling up to GZ so I had to wait to make find. TFTC
After spending 5 big days in Canberra for the Capital Geo Bash, it was time for me to leave Canberra. On the way out I tackled this Birds of Australia Where I Go trail. All caches found without problems. Thank you DARKSIDEDAN, for placing Birds of Australia - Blue-Billed Duck for the geocaching community.# # #14573 # #
Reperio 10:21Day 5 of our Capital GeoBash mega event trip to Canberra with Miss Vitruvius, and today it was time to head home, but not before finding plenty of caches. We decided to line up the caches around the Sutton area, which had plenty of high DT caches, and plenty of easier ones as well. This one was one of the nicer drive by caches we found today.Gratias DARKSIDEDANAs a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV
I have an interest in birding and it was great to find a bird themed series. Congratulations for the details put into the descriptions for each cache - this was well done. There is some controversy near home in Melbourne where the Government plans to develop a lake where these ducks live. Apologies for some generic logs as most of the caches were found quickly. It was nice to see some variation before containers and the type of hides. Thanks to DARKSIDEDAN for the cache.
Up at the Canberra geobash and today with the family was a touristy and fun day with a few out of the way puzzles and challenges. This back road was surprisingly busy with 3 sets of cyclists passed while doing thiese whereigos. Thanks DARKSIDEDAN for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.
Day #6 Geobashing After a late night dash for a FTF, we were unprepared at the time for some of the other nearby caches so a group of us returned to finish them this morning.OZHockeyChick and I then spent the rest of the day touring the northern part of Canberra and into NSW, picking up all sorts of targeted caches.Back on the birds trail as we etch closer to Canberra again.A big thanks goes to DARKSIDEDAN for taking the time to add Birds of Australia - Blue-Billed Duck to the geocaching map for us all to find and enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------Looking for caches to find when visiting Victoria? Why not check out the geocaching lists available on the [Geocaching Victoria Website](https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/information/great-caching-lists/). There are plenty to choose from including all of the previous nominees and winners of the Victorian Cache of the Year Awards.

Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. Up early this morning for McLookers Breakfast Club Event. After the event off to get coffee and breakfast at the local cafe whilst completing the nearby AL's.The rest of the morning was then spent finding some caches to be able to complete the Mega Space Hunt. Back to camp to finally check out the gadget caches before they disappear. [^]TFTC DARKSIDEDAN
During our weeks trip with Bare Foot Guru, Infoferret and Trinity to the Canberra Mega we logged as a combination of "BFG, CF, BIC, BITC" depending on who we were caching with at the time. The trip took us on a flight to Melbourne first, then a drive to Canberra, followed by a drive to Sydney before flying out again. Where possible I will add commentary to each find about the cache. Thanks for all the caches, hides and effort put into hiding and maintaining them.Found in top of burnt tree

It was an early morning start of challenge caches and then a morning CITO in a park. Next it was a couple of tunnel caches before a discussion of what was next on the list for today. I then managed to agree to work in with the Queensland 5 and collect caches in the Sutton area. We started off in Sutton however there is no going past a good pie shop and this one even had a cache just near it. Yep lunch and a time to work on those target caches of the area. logs were signed and caches replaced as found, a very interesting area, thanks for the hides and bringing me up hereGot this one as I was passing, Oh WAIT another series, oh my goodness my head is going to explode.

Today I set out on the bike towards the destination of Sutton. Started early in the morning and was cruising down the highway at top speeds. Went through Majura Lane to get to Sutton which is where the majority of the finds occurred. The main target was the Birds of Australia wherigo geoart, but had a couple other finds sprinkled in. Most caches were in good condition but a fair amount were in a bit of a bad shape. A nice lunch at the Sutton bakery/pie place and returned home. TFTC to the cache owners!
Had a DNF on this one on the way there because the cache was practically buried in mud and dirt and twigs and stuff. Got it on the way back tho. In good condition

This week has been very busy with work activities and geocaching events all over the place. Today was no exception and looking forward to next week, there is something on almost every day. It was back to Goulburn for a morning BBQ. I stopped once on the way up for a where-i-go and after the event I headed towards Gunning to visit as many elements caches as I can before heading home.
I have three caches along this back road to do, so one down for today, just before I passed people riding horses.

We had a lot of fun today with this small piece of geo-art.
Initially, it took some time to get ourselves into a pattern of working with just bearings and the compass.
Bit by bit, we refined our modus operandi and soon found ourselves on a roll, as we gradually whittled the series down.
Fair to say, we made our way up and back that road, quite a number of times today, and the car knows exactly where the potholes are!
After completing the series, and with only one DNF, we made our way to Goulburn for the CITO event.
Thanks Darksidedan. Awesome field puzzles and location.

Cache checked today by mountainsbeyond on my behalf. They reported that The cache is in good condition and that there is plenty of space in the logbook. Thanks to mountainsbeyond for helping with the maintenance of this cache.
A drive out into the plains, not mountains, beyond Canberra finding caches in this cool little series and performing maintenance on behalf of of the CO as required. Extremely soggy landscape at all the cache locations, and in several cases little creeks are running over these back roads. Most caches signed simply as 'MB' today.
This cache was located quickly at GZ and is in good condition.
Thanks, DSD!

Found on a week-long caching trip over to NSW and Victoria from Adelaide with gridge98.
Our main targets were the wherigo and challenge cache series’ around the Yass and Goulburn areas, although we also found quite a few other Unknown, multi, letterbox, virtual and traditional caches of interest along the way. We even managed to attend an event at Sutton and did a couple of caches just over the border in the ACT.
The middle of winter around the shortest day was probably not the best time to schedule our trip, particularly as we were camping. But despite a little bit of rain one night and sub-zero temperatures on another, the weather wasn’t too bad, albeit on the cloudy and cool side.
In all we covered about 3,300 km over the week and managed almost 350 finds each.
Thanks DARKSIDEDAN for the cache.

After the busy (and wet) summer had finished, The Rats floated the idea of a trip to the area around Canberra and Yass with Steeba and myself. We compared diaries, and had a two day mid-week window where we could make things happen, in the week wedged between Easter and ANZAC Day.
The weather was on our side for the first time in I forget how long, and we were able to make the most of our time opportunity.
A lot of excellent caches were found, and some fantastic terrain caches too. A few power trails, some crafty hides, some hard hides, and even some climbs that I could not do... even with our ladder!
Thank you to all of the cache owners for placing their hides. This boiler plate log does not reflect the quality of the hides. Most importantly thanks as always to my two great caching mates for their company!
Cheers

The Gong Gangsters (steeba, Hoojar and The Rats) took advantage of an extended Easter / Anzac break to head out for another caching juggernaut through the Southern Highlands and Yass regions. Blessed with beautiful weather we targeted a few powertrails and high D/T rated caches.
After 2 full days we'd collected a plethora of finds, made some new friends, laughed alot, pushed our bodies beyond the comfortable level and most of all - had a great time with mates. Thanks to all the CO's for your caches and those who tagged along.

The Rats, Hoojar and myself teamed up for an assault in and around the Yass area for a couple of days- a most enjoyable caching trip with my mates. Plenty of power trail type finds but a lot of great variety here and there, particularly around Yass itself. We started off on Wednesday night and finished up Friday afternoon. TFTC!

Headed into Canberra for the night with fitzy_1965 so we could attend my work Christmas party.
Of course, we couldn't just go straight into Canberra....we had to cache along the way! And....it was raining to top it off. At least the caches were all found quickly and easily.

We had two very good reasons to head into Canberra today - a Christmas event and a Christmas party ! So with a hotel room booked we headed in for two days. On the way in today we cherry-picked a few caches along the way. Another day we needed a wherigo, so we did the short detour to this one for a quick find by minniek. Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one.
Thanks DSD !!

It was decided that we would go and get these caches today. Nice and close and a lovely day to be out and about. More wet weather is coming so great to use the nice day to enjoy being outside. Have not been down this road before (shock horror) but enjoyed the drive.
Thanks for getting me out and about DSD.

After spending most of the day driving around finding, opening and solving the answers for about 20 ALs I joined up with Joolay, Barb2e and Isopeda for a run out to grab some wherigos and traditional caches.
All that we looked for were found and signed. Some had water in them but all logs were dry thanks to the zip lock bags.

Day 3 already. Up early after another wet night. Temperatures have dropped and we are far away from summer, but nevertheless ready for caching. A few caches around Belconnen and then a park run. After the Parkrun back to doing adventure labs and weather suitable caches around Canberra.

A long day caching starting at Collector and heading along the back roads to Goulburn before heading to Breadalbane and back to Collector. Found about 100 caches and finally cracked the 8000 cache mark.
Thanks to all the COs for putting out these caches.
