These caches were placed before the floods that took out a few caches along the river. If no one can be bothered putting a piece of paper in the cache, then its time to go ????? Ive done a lot of maintenance on the road and in very remote areas. It ensures the longevity of caches. But for some its just about the smileys.

Today we headed out of town to Wentworth and then worked our way back through Merbein and surrounds to Mildura. It was a clear sunny day, but wind kept the temperatures down and at time we were greatful to be in the car. Some lovely scenery was encountered from desert like scrub through farming land and the banks of the Murray. We managed Earthcaches, a Wherigo, multis and trads as well as puzzles. We also encountered a number of great cache containers.A busy but enjoyable day.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Ms Maddy.**SKI Pair****

WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 3 - Moulamein to Werrimul via Balranald, Robinvale and Gol Gol. After a great night at the pub with a fun band, I had a great night sleep before heading off. Typical outback NSW, no bakery's open, so I saved some money there. I started caching in Robinvale, and with all the effort for the puzzles, it was a very short return. Plenty of DNFs. I decided to bypass central Mildura and went around the Silver city highway for a few caches before heading to my nights stop at Werrimul. I first came here with Ballooning in about 2007, so I like to visit occasionally. Only a few blokes playing pool.My trip here was bit of a detour, but in the end I was happy to see three good finds around this small town of Dareton. Thanks for the cache Ms Maddy46388.9 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2015 Photo Cacher A#325**Albida**

Sir_spectre and I decided we needed to get away for a few days, so off to Murray Sunset NP and Mildura we went. Not a huge number of caches were found, but we had a great time exploring the NP. We fixed anything we could. Thanks to Ms Maddy from mogni

07-Oct-23
Found after dinner and under torch light. Quick find. Out with Mogni for a 3 day weekend, leaving friday morning and coming back sunday night. The plan was to go to Cowangie in Victoria and then head in to Murray-Sunset National Park then head on to Mildura and come back via Rufus River road ( in New South Wales ) to South Australia. Night 1 was in the Murray-Sunset National Park at Mopoke Hut camp ground and Night 2 at Mildura then going back to Adelaide. It must have rained recently in Murray-Sunset since the sand wasn't like fine power as expected and other sections of the National park had bypass tracks around the water filled ruts in the main track. Going around one of the bypass tracks i staked a tyre on the friday but didn't notice it to saturday morning. The stake went right beside the tread and the inside wall of the tyre, the stake was the size of my finger tip. Also turns out that i got a screw in my rear tyre thrusday night leaving work. There was alot of reinflating tyres this trip. The flora change in the national park was surprising but i figured that is due to weather or not the ground was sandy or muddy. When we got to Mildura we targeted the 2 multi's mogni wanted to do and of course they were the ones with 7 and 11 stages. After that we targeted the caches with high amount of favourite points and then left the next day via New South Wales so we could get the virtual at Lake Victoria and some of the older 2003 around the border track. A good weekend away 4x4ing.

Veni. Vidi. Vici. Scripsi.
Staying in Coomealla for a few nights and was glad that there were caches close by so I Dareton eed to find them. Had read the logs, so was a bit curious as to what state the cache was in. Had driven along the area a couple of times before today and the road was good. Today, being free, I parked next to GZ and wandered over. Went to the wrong side first and when circumnavigating GZ spotted the cache, which most likely would have been out of flood reach, and was in excellent condition. Signed the log and then replaced all as found.

Saw some sights, cached three states, and ate a whole lot of pub and cafe meals! Found far fewer mint tins than usual - gold star to Vic and NSW for that one!!! Wink

Happy Geocaching Day weekend! Big Grin

Much thanks to Ms Maddy for locating and maintaining this cache on our NSW geo-map Cool

Wandering the countryside - searching, spotting strange items and signing cache logs using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Whereyougo, Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S21u, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just a guyess or plain old dumb luck WinkCoolBig Grin
Heaps of that luck stuff actually !!!

*All the online logs are composed and published with GSAK of course.*

Caution! Caching is a very hazardous activity!
Look out for sand, mud, snakes, surprise cliffs, roos, wombats, things falling from trees, bulldust, and floods, and try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall off your ladder...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- and do watch out for germs and bugs !!! . [xx(]

Make Travel Bugs the Only bugs you share and pass on Wink
Keep a safe distance - cache the countryside Big Grin

Truly fantastic of all those placing quality caches out and about around the country areas,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game fun, and interesting Cool

Appreciate you reading all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, apparently! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Wink Maybe if I worked out where I could do it and go back to normal logs again ! If you find the challenge let me know and we can put an end to these long logs !!!

I’m having this week off as others at work had the Easter break off so it was my turn and another trip up North to Mildura was planned.
I was able to leave Melbourne nice and early to get a few caches in on the way up to Culgoa.
So after a great feed and a couple of beers and of course great accomodation at the Kaneira Hotel I headed up towards Mildura to see how many I could find in the Paddle Steamer series.
I managed to find 115 and 165 in the last couple days but the uni joint in my right knee has finally said enough is enough with all of the getting in and out of the Geocruiser so it is time to spend a casual day around Mildura.
I got up nice and early to attend the Dawn Service at the park and it was great to see so many people there paying their respects.
After a wander around town and then completing the Turtle series which was the second reason why I came back up to Mildura it was time to keep my wandering around.
I crossed the mighty Murray river and I’m now wandering around Wentworth and surrounds.
I’m taking the long way back to Mildura to check out this side of the Murray.
Just one person out practicing his swing today.

Thanks Ms Maddy TFTC.

Found during a road trip via Wentworth, Menindie Lakes, Wilcannia, Cobar, Bourke and Cunnamulla to Charleville and back over 10 days, camping out at some great spots along the way. Met up with e.gregory1 at Bourke and we spent the next four days caching around Cunnamulla and out to Eulo, Yowah and Charleville, before e.gregory headed up to Townsville and I made my way southwards towards home. I camped out near Balranald last night and spent the day caching from Balranald to Wentworth, then finding a great campsite on the Murray at Merbein Common. Thanks for the cache Ms Maddy!

25,441. Found with minniek, Sol de Lune and Smittengranny during our post Christmas / New Year trip over to South Australia and Victoria to tackle the On Your Bike and Paddle Steamer series among many other caches.

This cache was a nice quick find. Next find of many for our trip.

When minniek and I were in South Australia in January this year (2021) doing the On Your Bike series of (then) 100 Wherigo caches, we were talking to the CO who mentioned that a whole lot more were soon to be published, and they were - 512 more ! So once back home we set about solving all those new ones which was at least something to do during 'stay at home' orders effecting us. Then once they were all solved we planned a trip over to grab them. Then just to add to the fun the latest 152 were published just in time for us to spend time solving them all so we could get the whole set. With our caching friends Sol de Lune, Smittengranny and albida33 this series was our main aim, but with the 'Around the World in 81 caches' series, various solved puzzles and the Paddle Steamer as standby if we got the time.

We managed some BIG days caching and finished off the On Your Bike series in three days, then attempted the mammoth 'Around the World in 81 caches' series and some lovely high/rare D/T caches - all in searing summer heat peaking at over 40 degrees ! Once they were finally completed we headed over to the Mildura region for another two blistering hot days doing the Paddle Steamer series. After camping for five nights we finally relented and got hotel rooms for the last two nights and worked the air conditioning to the bone.

All in all an amazingly fun time was had, and we have all made room in our calendars for when the next part of the On Your Bike series is published - no pressure ! Highlights included many of the fun tree climbs, the pole caches which increased our skills at the recovery and replacements of those styled caches, and the relaxed times and banter around the camp site at the end of each tiring day - including New Years Eve !

Thanks to all the COs for contributing their caches to our fun times, and I must apologise for the generic logs as we did find well over one thousand caches which now require logging !

Decision was made to join in the Smittengranny, fitzy_1965 and Minniek convoy to South Australia to tackle the On Ya Bike series and Curlwaa caravan park was our camping spot for day 1. Once camp was set up for the night, we headed off to find a few local caches. We had no issues with this one and the cache was soon in hand and our names in the log.

Thanks for this little 'Dare' series of caches and for also showing us around a few areas Ms Maddy......

Day 1: SA/Vic Christmas holiday trip

Last Christmas holidays, fitzy_1965 and I (along with two geo-kids, Death Killer & my_name_jeff_1) headed to SA to visit family whilst we could, and to collect as many counties and caches as possible along the way. We decided even before getting home that we needed to go back. The added incentive of more On You Bike series sealed the deal.

Fast forward through 2021 (because who wants to remember that), and here we are again heading West in the hope that we get our negative COVID-19 test in time to cross the border.
In convoy with Sol de lune & smittengranny, we stopped at Curlwaa for the night. After setting up camp, we decided that we needed a little cache therapy after a full day of driving. A sneaky five caches for fitzy & I.

All caches were found quickly and easily.
