Find #1125. Found @ 11:00 with Bexta, ° and Team Oaky, although it was Bexta that did all the hard work.
I checked my email notifications first thing this morning and noticed that this was once again placed in the wild. I also got wind of a plan to grab it. I threw my hat into the ring for the attempt but at best could only get there a bit later than the target time (with geocachelettes in tow).
Once on site, I scoped out the area and found the attack was underway, and from the other side of the bridge. I made my way to the access point and decided that if I ventured into the fray I'd just get in the way.
I took the kids down to the river bank to watch Bexta in action. Once she was on the way back I returned to the access point (and left the kids having a picnic by the river).
At best I provided the pen to sign the log, but I figured as I was here, had all the gear, was prepared to make the grab and the log was only 1m away - I'd sign it.
We moved off the bridge to have a chat but my small creatures were getting a bit bored and wanted to leave, so leave we did.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache nmartin.
I believe that plans are being made by others in the group to rehide in the appropriate manor.

We thought this was a TB and took it bit it turns out to be a moving cache so we will keep it moving very soon.
We have dropped this cache at S37° 16.788 E142° 55.813 as we feel this is an interesting area
What a totally unexpected find.
Had to slip into town to grab some supplies....What's going on there....Captain Thunderbolt's got a (STAGECOACH ) bailed up . Pumped up a bit of courage approached the scene... WOO UP..what's this.. been on the look out for this and it just jumped into my hand. Good old Thunderbolt, seems he let it slip past unnoticed a few days previously . Great to cross off this unusual cache. Thanks for this cache nmartin.

today we found out this was in the summit letterbox. we just had to to rush over there after school and hope it was still there. It was so the log was signed and we left it there, it has more chance of moving if we did that.

Found this one while out and about caching in the Hastings. I think we are pretty lucky to be able to log this one as its obviously pretty rare to find. Many thanks nmartin
Our 6811th overall find.
I couldn't resist the opportunity to log this one today as we were in the area and was given the heads up that this one was about. Thanks pprass for the notification.
Thanks nmartin for keeping this old movable going.

Sorry for the delay in logging this one our computer died on as when we arrived home from our camping trip to Diamond head.

Not very often you get the chance to log a 5/5 cache, and more rare is one that travels, always seem to slip just out of reach. Wasn't the case today, had a firm grasp on it and it wasn't getting away before I could add my name to the log.
Glad to have the opportunity to sign one of these rare moveable caches.
Cheers.

We were extremely lucky to be able to sign the log on this sought after cache thanks to being in the company of Pprass & our caching partner DazRascal today.
We have watched this cache bounce around our good country for quite a number of months & are happy to have had the chance to log such a unique cache.
The places this cache has seen is amazing & will continue to watch its journey.
We signed the log, sealed it up and we've sent it on its merry way - which way is the question?
The lovely cool weather in the south of the country....or to the north where the sun is still shining.... Maybe even on a jet plane!
We'll know soon enough no doubt...
Many thanks to nmartin for the cache & experience. Cheers.

We were amazed at how sort after this cache is, and we were lucky to sight this traveling cache.
We have now added our name to the log, where will it turn up next?
Thanks so much for this unusual cache, nmartin.

What an amazing opportunity to find this cache when so many are looking for it. Thank you nmartin.
Found at 11.30 am GAFF1. Thanks MVMTBiker - we know where that NSW Schoolies cache is - we were actually FTF for that cache, so another visit and a bit more knot untying and the container fell to the ground and the "Keep it Moving" cache was liberated We feel honored to be a part of this cache's history and are amazed that it has survived for so long!
It will be placed somewhere on the Mid North Coast on the weekend.

1313 GAFF1 After being called out to work at 0530 this morning I thought we had finished for a bit, and checked out my GSAK list of closest Unfound caches, but then I thought I had better check the Groundspeak website to be sure. It was then I was pleasantly SURPRISED that my closest cache was now 20 km from home, as I had recently cleared out to 30km!
But within 5 minutes of loading this waypoint onto the GOSr I was called back to work AGAIN.
So, after that couple more cases, we were eventually allowed to leave for a couple of hours, so I headed out in the hope of catching up with this cache!
Sure enough, found it about 6m from GZ! BARGAIN. That helps today!
I was off to check on one of my many caches so dropped it off where I had been investigating for a Multi, along the theme ""… Won the Battle of …", with some Bible trivis to direct the cacher to the cache.
The cache is well protected here, 'guarded' even!
Brought through for mileage: 3 Bros, Aust Light Houses, B 2 B ingot,Iconic Bridges, cache critters Baa, Neigh Neddy, and Oink, and N-JOYO TBs and trackable shirt.
Thanks for the First Moveable cache I have found on GC nmartin
Thought I might have been able to add the Coordinates but not the first time!

Left a sticker there saying Get High Tree, but will be another spot on the MNC
Found this delightful cache after doing some maintenance on one of the MNCW caches.
While I was going to drop it off at Get High! Tree? there was a local neighbourhood watch muggle that kind of discouraged me from leaving this worthy cache there.
So went to another that I'd recently found: NSW Schoolies Challenge, a D5/T3 Challenge cache.
But while I have been out caching I had been contacted by one of the local cachers, and it seems that they have already retrieved it.
With the CO's permission (of the Challenge cache) I will post a spoiler of where this one was hidden
TFTC nmartin, but you will have to look to the next Finder to find the coordinates of where it will be held!

forgot to scratch and there already was a pile of stones. moving south with cache. will email CO with new coords
Had plans for diabolical placement of this cache, but as they say, life gets in the way. Finally placed it in a spot locals in this area will know well.
Thanks for the opportunity to see and log one of these very rare types of caches.

Quick find. Knew the structure this was placed next to. Have hidden it down the road. Thanks!
Saw this come up and had to go and find it. Headed out into the dark with a torch. This would probably be my only chance of snagging this cache. Spotted an owl on the way. Found the cache OK. It's been a while since I have done night caching.
Anyway, will move it on.

Have left it on a spot along Parramatta River. It's your typical bridge troll hide. Tucked away out of sight.

After receiving some information from the previous hider, I had to have another crack at this rare cache type. Dropped in first thing this morning and was confronted by a lamp post (yes, it has become a LPC - Lamp Post Cache). However, the kicker is that the cache was out of reach and I didn't have a milk crate to stand on. If you've ever been out the Sydney Olympic Park then you will know that nothing is left lying around, and I was in need of a solution. There was no way I was walking away without my one shot at it.
I went back to the car and got my Manfrotto camera tripod and took the head off it. Went back to the lamp post and used that to stand on. Had a good feel around and sure enough, voilà, it was there.
I found my first 5/5 cache and did have to use special equipment. Wasn't abseiling gear, or a kayak or anything extreme, but there you go.
Great to have found my first moving cache too. Cache is in hand and is on the move.

Saw this rare cache was in town, and had to have a go at finding it. No luck for me today. Had a bit of a look around but could not find it.
Nope,I couldn't find it either. To be honest the hint made no sense to me. Yes you're in front of the aquatic center but what on earth does the hint mean?

Another hint: what could you use a milk crate for if you had one and it should be within reach.
Paulyman and I are at Soundwave today at Sydney Olympic Park, and we've placed the cache somewhere here which makes the difficulty at least 5 today due to the muggle factor.

Saw the coords change on this one while visiting family in Nowra, so paulyman and I decided to ditch the family for this very special cache (we did take my muggle sister though). Once at GZ we searched high and low, and eventually the cache was in hand. Beautiful spot right by the look out. Paulyman and I are travelling to a special spot worthy of this cache in two weeks, so watch this space!
Cache has been moved.
I have moved it not far from its last location at another of my favourite views.
It appears the shoalhaven geocachers are not that adventurous after all!
Funnily enough there were two people at GZ when I arrived and I was hoping they had made a find but alas.
I passed another white ute on the lookout road 100Mtrs from GZ when leaving so if that was a cacher I'm sorry mate.

Found this one with snorris today. We have been watching this one move about anxiously, today we decided to pounce. We have a new location in mind that will meet the 5/5 given the extremely high muggle traffic and the feisty behaviour of said muggles ...... Keep watching this space.
Thought we would go for a drive and check out the current view, unfortunately, the closed signs are for real, and not just because of the recent fires, which I found out after checking with NPWS ; we therefore didn't make it all the way in and didn't get a chance to even search for the cache.

New location people. I struggled for some time with where to place this amazing cache. Where in the shoalhaven to do it justice. Then I thought, how about somewhere to view the whole of our beautiful shoalhaven?
So that was it. Only this place isn't one of the more popular lookouts and a fair drive is needed.(no 4x4 needed)
Entering this place you will notice area closed signs but they refer to the danger of fire and at present there is nothing left to burn thanks to the deans gap fire that went through weeks ago.
Hint: Below the lock!!
ps; a pic of this view would be cool

Well Well Well ......... After the agony comes the ecstasy !!!!!!
After failing last time I thought my chance was gone.
I read the new coords earlier in the week and guessed where it was but knew I had work/family/social committments till noon sunday and figured I would miss out again. (couldn't use the heat stress excuse again )
Every 4hrs I'd check for logs. So today came and I was glad to see rain as this would surely see less cachers about.
Loaded the smallest kayak in NSW into ute and off I set full of hope. I kept GPS on dash so that I could watch myself closing in on this piece of history.
Bearings kept pointing toward the old structure I guessed it was hidden. Through Terrara towards the bridge and the nurves started . A lifetime of playing league and I never felt this ? The old ticker was pumpin as I pull up beside the river and found no-one else silly enough to be out in the rain.
Ten minutes later I'm at GZ and stressing that I may have to alight the kayak mid river to find the cache. I decide that this would be impossible given that said kayak is 1 inch above waterline, and hope I can find it from a seated position.
Third pylon, second time around I spy what looks like litter but bingo it's the cache!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yee Harrrrrrr , I'm so excited as I just hold the cache staring at it. Then I realise the tides flowing out and I have left the paddle on the conrcete when I reached in for the prize .........Now I'm floating backwards down a creek without a paddle!! Yes that old similar saying sprang to mind. If you've ever paddled a kayak with your hands you will understand why I was beet red and sweating on my return to tera firma.
But I have the cache and will endeavour to do it proud.
A special thanks to my mate Tuena for getting me involved in caching

Placed the cache in a strangely urban/rural/industrial/aquatic location. Although the cache is magnetic, it is placed on a non-magnetic part of the structure. It was placed from a kayak, so you'll be looking no more than a metre or so above water level. Thanks again for a great cache nmartin.
Move to a Terrain 5 location with Rock-hopper. Marine craft required. Tool required to cut one cable tie. Take one / leave one (it will all make sense when you get there).
Replaced with RiverRuners, on a gorgeous sunny morning. Doesn't look like a Terrain 5 today, but it is! You will need some type of marine craft to retrieve it.
You will also need to bring something to cut a cable tie. Please leave 2nd one intact.

Perfect timing. I was heading to Callala to go sailing when the new coords appeared. I was going to be going within 50m of this spot anyway. My first 5/5 cache. Thanks nmartin for the cache and Rock-hopper and river runners for inadvertently placing it in such a convenient location. I'll drop it soon.
Wow !!! The dissappointment !!! Im shattered. Possibly a once in a lifetime shot gone.
I get the coords at work today and begin getting more and more excited until it's tooooo much.
I leave work early as I can't wait any longer , "heat stress" I said.
A phone call home has the kayak waiting for me because I can see it's in JB. No time too waste.
Myself and geoson race to the bay. (i have geoson in case it involves diving because this things way out)
Looking out to sea I can only see fishermen, great I'm in front here, I have a strong idea where it is because we boat all the time at callala.
250mtrs paddling and now I'm sure it's mine, 150mtrs more and I can see something has been added to the destination as I pass this point weekly and know when somethings changed. The heart quickens as does the paddling.
I have trouble manouvouring as I'm built much more for comfort than speed. I'm sloshing around in the swell trying to grab the cache on a kayak I'm 100kgs to heavy to be on praying I don't fall in cause I have GPS in top pocket with keys and sons sunnies.
Finally I reach out and grab a plastic sign saying I'm too late !!!
The 500mtr paddle back in was long.
The End

Moved but already picked up by another cacher so DO NOT look for it here. Iced coffees on order on a sweltering 42° day.
Great to finally have hold of a piece of caching history. My first 5/5 cache ! Already have a terrain 5 spot in mind. Watch this space . . . . TFTC
Oh, I'm so glad this cache found it's way to the NSW South Coast!
What an amazing history it's had, and it continues, with this hardy cache surviving today's Catastrophic Fire Danger rating, extreme bush fires, road closures, evacuations, and temperatures of 43 degrees C! (that's 110 F!) RiverRuners and I were so lucky to find it in a protected area!
Thanks so much to nmartin and everyone who has kept this cache moving!

Went to get this one this morning but it wasn't there, someone must have beaten me to it. Where will it go next. Please.
Other cache was still there but not a rescent signing on log so probably a previous finder.?

As it was our plan to drop this off in Canberra yesterday, however a huge request from geocachers we brought it back to our area, we had a perfect spot picked out. Very early start to beat the heat of the day we set out to the new location, this track we were greeted with a swam of butterflies, many variety of birds singing , quite a crank up a hill and in the end a stunning view as far as the eye could see ferns and other bush track. NEW CO ODS S34 26 990 E150 24 446 we placed it under a cann. TFTC
I was notified of the existence of this cache late last night by Rock-hopper & was assured that it wasn't heading south, so set the alarm for 6. I made two assumptions based on who were the present holders of the cache & the terrain rating. I honestly couldn't see it being hidden in guard rail. So I headed off to the Gang Gang track head as I'd recently found two caches up there hidden by J+J.au & considered the terrain there to be more aligned with the 5 rating. I took my laptop with me as haven't downloaded the GC App just the GCA one to my crappy phone. That proved fruitless as could barely get a signal despite stopping near the winery.
I sent a msg to Rock-hopper which eventually got through only to discover that the cache hadn't been re-hidden. However when I arrived at the track head there was a vehicle there so that looked promising. Then another msg from R-H with the co-ords so away I tramped. It was humid & getting a bit warm. Who should I meet on the way up but J+J.au & Chalk! We had a yarn, they gave me the hint which obviously I didn't listen to & I continued the uphill grind.
My Magellan indicated the cache to be 700 metres away which I was aghast at. However after wandering in the wrong direction I realised that it had reverted to 'elevation' not 'distance to next' so cursed & turned around. Arrived near GZ only to see the Magellan pointing another 15 odd metres over a cliff so being an idiot, I found a way down there. Then found an easier way back & taking advice given to me at the Mega, let the Magellan settle & there it was. Had I looked to the left initially I would have seen the cairn. I need to lose weight & achieved that today.
I will re-hide the cache in a location that meets, to a high degree. the terrain rating of 5, probably a 3 & a halfwit, the latter being a good description of me today. We are expecting heatwave conditions over the next 2 days so will wait for the Southerly change & go for another walk - Hi Ho Hi Ho.
This was my 135th moveable find - they are out there, you just need to look.
Thanks to Rock-hopper, J+J.au, Chalk! & the CO for the opportunity of finding this historical cache.

J+J.au was in the area and we decided to head out to potentially release this cache to a new location. The 40 degree heat outside made for a perfect drive caching day up in the mountains. Driving around we saw a perfect place and in the winter the road is closed to traffic due to snow. Mr Geo_junkies in September road 40kms of the dirt road to grab the nearby caches as the road was shut. It was a a great day of riding and for us we thought this location would be worthy of a 5/5 cache. Alas, it was just a visit to this location and Geo_junkies made our mark however J+J.au had just received an email from another cacher who would like to place it in a different location.
Was great to be able to log this one.

Well it is back out ready to move. We have placed the cache along a trail remembering an important part of the Illawarra history. To start the walk in find the cache GC1Y8W4 REMEMBER WHAT EVER THE COST and start there. It is just down the trail behind a rock at ground level not stuck to anything. Just watch out for the willy wag tail that is protecting its nest. We have added the new co ords and some pictures to show its journey.
We were checking out the caches yesterday for tomorrow's adventure and there was a new one that had caught our eye.. The challenge was to be able to catch it before it moves. OK, not too far quickly Chalk pulled the geo grand son out of his sleep and buckled them in the car , now pick up Baja15 along the way. With good direction and clues cache was located, we were loudly celebrating .. YEHAA.... We might take a road trip south. TFTC..
Right, in the car...quick! A cache I thought that I would never be able to get has come close. Lets go get it! With J & J.au and the kids in the car, a short detour for Baja.15, and efficient driving, the cache was in hand and on its journey with us! Thanks!
Joined in on the opportunity to grab this movable when friends let me know about their quest. "Keep it moving" appears to be our geocaching oath these days, no gathering moss that's for sure. The added fun with this one was witnessing the excitement and the anticipation of my fellow hunters. Glad to be part of such a historic cache, what an achievement record. Thanks. SL
Having a heads up that this moving cache was still in the Illawarra I made the detour on our way home from holidays to grab the cache.
Being the owner of 3 active movable caches I appreciate how special these grandfathers caches are:

Its great to add my name to the log. I have now placed the cache in a new spot, but it lasted there only minutes before being taken by the next finder.
Thanks for a very easy 5/5 cache

The afternoon brought much cooler weather and we had been looking for an opportunity to help krafty Charlie attempt adrenalin addiction - tree (GC2YY4Q) Lucky for us, the rats had also placed this cache ready for retrieval.. once we set up the ropes for the retrieval attempt, cheeky Dave shot up the tree to nab this cache. Such a privileged to have this cache in hand and to be apart of its journey.. thanks rats for moving this one along.. we have now passed this on to krafty Charlie to place in a new spot shortly..

After a fantastic afternoon completing a 3/5 cache we grabbed this cache off "Cheeky Cachers" to move it on soon. We will not just drop it anywhere but pick a location fitting such a cache. We will show it around the Illawarra for a short time then drop it off for more travels. as soon as we have definite co ords we will email them to the owner. TFTC
Indeed an intriging cache, curious were it is gona travel next? I left it for today, teh next finder will be in 2013?
Happy new year everybody!

Saw this was in the area so gave Steeba a call if I could also log before I go overseas tomorrow. So logged while in the hands of Steeba. Thanks, that is now 4 moving caches I can claim to have logged.
Got a heads up on this one from Woody Figtree, and he cleared it with the current holder we logged it while in the hands of Steeba. Great to log and more interesting to see where it will go in the future!
What an interesting cache and so lucky to have it end up turning up just down the road from me ! I hadn't even realised this 5/5 one was in Australia but I can see now it has been doing a tour for a short while.
It won't be too long but will take a few days before I get this one out and about in the 'Gong again.
They don't make 'em like they used to. TFTC!

I see a new cache has been placed nearby, so I got the gear on for a bit of a early Canyon trip. Got to GZ and saw some thing just out place here. Signed log and have moved it further down the canyon to S33 43.194 E150 21.499. Thanks for the Challenge.

My first 5/5 cache. How exciting. There aren't many of these left any more. I placed this cache at the co-ords above.
I think that dkmacca has maybe got the wrong date?
Cheers
Edit for bug drop.

A most unexpected find, but quite exciting none the less! I love canyoning, and was able to collect this one inside of one.
I have moved in along to Wollongong.

Late Log (had forgotten all about it until coming across another movable today) Spotted in another cacher's hands (by chance) at Wentworth falls after a bit of canyoning, apparently I has just missed finding it in the canyon. Thanks Nmartin!

Saw this had been placed really close to home, so took a break from Christmas activities (that would be cooking lunch!) to go grab it.
If the weather clears I will be going somewhere in a few days that will actually match the D/T rating, so I might move it to there

Found after Team Canary dropped it off in Faulconbridge. Moved it back up the mountains to Hazelbrook.

Found with azazzlenic at Jackson Park in an interesting place. We took to Hazelbrook.
The WaywardWoman and I saw this on the map while I was considering my options for a cache find to fill in a calendar day. I hadn't heard of it being moved to the mountains. But the opportunity of logging this cache meant that we jumped into the car and headed up the mountain. Unfortunately, the cache was already gone. Luckily, we managed to acquire it in its various movements yesterday. Not exactly a 5/5 cache the way we found it, but it's still pretty cool to have that one ticked on the grid.
The cache is now in Springwood, but given where it's now placed, I have a pretty good idea it won't last there long. Thanks
