Logs
Could the next geocacher attending please take along a new container and do maintenance for this one. Thanks Liz and Bruce
We wandered over after setting up camp. Saw a glass container in the tree, but no lid and no log. While puzzling about this, I glanced at my feet and saw the log sitting on the ground. Signed it, and put in the container, but not confident it will last, as there was no lid. We had nothing with us to fix a new container up.
After making it to the Northernmost point of Australia from Melbourne we are now on the return journey south. We parked the geo4WD and cautiously walked toward GZ as there was an unfenced bull standing not too far away watching our every move. With one eye on the bull and one looking for the cache we soon had the cache in hand. Glad it didn't take too long to find. Once the log was signed we hurried back to the geo4WD and took off. TF placing this cache for us to find on our travels.
We have called into Moreton station on the way home from the cape, hoping for a bite to eat. While waiting I figure Id look at the Archer River cache that we are headed to.As usual no map loads but there appears to be a green dot remarkably close.Wow, there is a cache here, hmmm 300ish meters away, must be back at the entrance. This gives me some encouragement to eat a bit quicker (great food btw) and head back out.We figure its the sign, but turns out its the tree.I find the cache for a change and am amazed at what I find. The cache is a jar that has been eaten by the tree.It sure doesnt want to let go of it anyways. No lid on it makes it easy to get at the log, but its going to get very wet the first time it rains.Buttons leaves a trademark behind and we scoot back to the highway.TFTC Venimus, Invenimus, Signati
Kiwinic and myself are on our way south after an Awsum trip to the tip, all apart from getting our car broken into last night it, was brilliant!! A quick lunch stop at Bramwell roadhouse we continued down the road heading for Weipa. But not before stopping to grab a couple of quick hides and pop some more smilies on our maps! TFTC
We spent a night here on our way back south from the tip. It is quite a nice camp-site with plenty of grass, which they are obviously quite proud of. Unfortunately we couldn't do the nature wall due to back burning but we did manage to fond the cache. It was amazing seeing how the cars used to have to cross the Wenlock before the bridge was put in place. What an adventure that would have been. Thanks for the cache!
Found with Grumpi68 while on a bucket list Holliday to the tip. Thanks for the spot to stop and give us a walk in the arvo
Wow, what a trip! Cape York, Cairns to the tip!!! It's been a great fascination and long term goal of mine to visit Cape York but driving it, and seeing as much as I can, was just amazing and a trip of a lifetime. Arrived to a huge convoy of cars in here, some serious set up for the trek upwards for them. With the cache found it was out with the lunch set up and s nice sit and relax.
A caching trip from Canberra, ACT to Cape York, Qld and then around the gulf to East Arnhem Land, NT.TFTC.A nice little spot for a bite of lunch. Had a chat with the local chef. For just $15k you can do a bus trip to the Cape.
Called in to visit this cache will travelling down from Bamaga to Weipa.Replaced the log, but will have to replace the container on my next visit as the lid is missing. Thanks Liz and Bruce for placing this cache.
Travelling to the tip of Australia with The Drovers, Geoturtle37 & Paqpi4506 was the aim of this trip stopping at geocaches and historic sites as well as picking up some new LGA'sOn our last visit here 36 years ago just before the wet seaon a lot of vehicles were having trouble crossing the Wenloc, today with the new bridge there was no problem what so ever. We located the cache quite quickly and our acronym has been added to the log.We actually stayed here on the way back from the tip and we enjoyed seening the old barge that an old friend of ours had used a couple of time on trips in old land rovers. To save room in the log we signed PDGC (Papi Drove Geoturtle Crackers)Many thanks Liz and Bruce for the cache.
Team Crackers and The Drovers as well as Geoturtle37 and myself, are making our way to the Cape. Not sure about the others but this is further than GT37 and I got last attempt. The weather decided to stop us in our tracks last time but this time the weather is fantastic. This was a nice quick find and a good place to have a stretch and stop vibrating before heading north again. The cache was found, signed and returned as found. Thanks for placing this and giving us a break.
Very pleased to have a break from the vibrations of this road and we have been warned it only gets worse. No matter, this is a Cape of Bust trip. Thanks for the stretch and the cache.
Found during a 2 night stay a Morton Telegraph Station. TFC. 22/09/2023 2.30pm.
Found with CrookedPete on our travels through the area. Had to leave the car running while we grabbed this one as the starter motor is playing up! Thanks for the cache
About a year ago, Swellerfungus invited me to join a trip to Cape York that he was organising. I have been to the Cape by boat in the late 80's, but I thought it would be interesting to return by air and land.
With other commitments for the first part of their trip, I opted to fly to Bamaga and join the crew. After a few days exploring the Cape and a trip to TI, the road south now beckons.
Last night we camped at Bramwell Station. With a big day on the road, we broke camp early and stopped in here to grab this cache and test the accuracy of the sign touting "barista coffee". The cache was quickly found, despite there being a few possible hide options. The pod coffee with milk boiled within an inch of its life did failed to meet our alreadyt low expectations.
We have modified the "Big Mac" index for our Cape travels, instead using the price of burgers at the roadhouses to gauge how expensive things are. At $20, the price of the Bacon and Egg burger makes this one of the most expensive stops on the Cape.
Interesting to see the old car barge and telegraph equipment. Many thanks Liz and Bruce.

Stopped at this station for lunch break and to stretch our legs after all the bumpiness of the road. Nice relaxing place for a stop. Signed and returned after the workman had moved on. TFTC

Pulled in here to stay for the night, the green grass is very much appreciated after those red dirt roads.
Loved the info over in the museum, well worth a visit.
Once we’d settled in we stretched our legs with a short walk over to the the cache.
Many thanks to teamthommo for the recent replacement.

Ocw the Bebes as we head north to the tip. Decided to stay here for the night and of course collect the cache. Nice easy find at GZ. Tftc
An Awesome little find here, like a treasure trove of a beaut little Community in FNQ.
We are on a Bucket List Trek, from Busselton, in the South West corner of Australia, up to Cape York, Australia's most
Northern land point.
We are travelling through several iconic tracks, through the Gawler Ranges, the Oodnadatta Track, the Birdsville Track, the Bloomfield Track and the PDR Track to Cape York.
As we meander across this awesome country, we stopped here to enjoy the scenery, check out the history and wonder what life was like here all those years ago.
Thanks to the CO's for adding to our journey as we head to Cape York.
Thanks

Unbelievable adventures and fun times – that's what this trip is all about. Australia's diversity has blown us away, and Cape York, with its crazy rough roads, has a special place in our hearts. Our second trip to the Cape, part of our first lap around Australia, and we've almost hit 92,000km in 2.5 years. Prepared for the worst, but ended up with smooth roads up and crazy rough roads down two weeks later. Nature's beauty surrounds us – lush rainforests, sandy beaches, and hidden gems everywhere – Cape York is an absolute stunner! Memories to cherish forever!
Big shoutout to the cache owners who made geocaching a fantastic part of our journey. Sorry for the copy and paste logs, but with so much ground to cover, it's the best way to stay on top of them all!

Stopped in for a burger and read of the photos and info boards then off to the cache.
Saw a massive snake on the road 20 minutes beforehand.
Sandyofthesea and I took off from Perth at the start of April to travel more of Australia using geocaching as a guide to see the sights. How good is this country!!
Liz and Bruce, I found Moreton Station today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

If I f after our two night chill out at Morton telegraph station. The staff were super friendly and helpful.
Took a couple minutes to convince my gps to work, then it was right on the money. TFTC!!
Lack of internet reception makes this one a little trickier for those without GPS. Once we had a clearer idea of where to look, this cache was an easy one to find. Cache is in good condition.
Make sure you pop into Moreton Tele Station the hosts are wonderfully helpful and the camping grounds are very well maintained. 5

Trip to the Tip Tour Day #13
Missed this one on the way to the cape due to time restrictions.. Found on our way south/home because we had time.
Cache had fallen out of its perch, so placed it in the tree as hint suggested. BYOP.
Thanks for placing the cache here! What a great place to stop in! TYFTC ️

Found with LuLuRu14 on our way back from the Tip, day 13. We picked this one up off the ground. It seems the winds may have knocked it from its location. Glad to have found this one, as we won't be back soon. TFTC
Did not find this one, although we didn't have a long time to search as we had to keep moving. We did find the green ants though! Hopefully we can have another look for this one on the way back.
Lots of green ants around and lots of moseys but a quick easy fine thank you very much lovely camp spot here I’d love to swim in the river but I wouldn’t dare
Short break on our trip north, wonderful to get a cache to mark our journey. Will stay here on our way back down. Tftc
Found during a trip from Adelaide to the northern tip of Australia. Traveling up solo through central Queensland, I met up with e.gregory1 and a non-cacher friend near Cairns for the rest of the trip northwards, finding caches along the way. Thanks for the cache Liz and Bruce!
After taking three weeks to meander my way up from Adelaide to Cairns on my own, I met up with FeatherWaite and another friend to head further north to Cape York.
We spent a couple of days at Weipa, then continued on our journey north. This was a quick find as we passed by on our way to Captain Billy Point.
Thanks Liz and Bruce for the cache.

I wasn’t sure I’d have coverage for my phone to find it and was working from a screenshot I had taken earlier. Was soo close. Then thought I’d check just in case and sure enough coverage and I WAS looking in the right place. And then, yes, there it is. Open it and lily white log. First to find. Here in the middle of the cape, thousands of kilometres from home. Who’d a thunk it?
Thank you so much for the cache. I will attach a photo nearby, of a bridge confrontation. Drive safe, drive slowly, drive conservatively, please.
