Despite it being a forecasted hot day and that there had been quite a storm the night before, I headed out to Pieces Creek forest area with Joolay and Kitty Katch to see if we could get to some of the trail based remote caches in the area. There had been lots of wind, but not too much water and the tracks were dry and passable. We found a few steep bits and more closed gates than I was expecting. We even learnt were to goto to start a future Camel back ridge trail hike from. There was a great variety of caches today, even a tree climb, although that was easier than one of the scrambles up to a rock boulder. We saw no snakes today despite the rising heat. I was pretty tired when I arrived home so just sat for the rest of the day.It was good to have a few simple drive bys after a few walks and climbs. Thanks for the cache Tankengine45076.16 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & March 2023 Sight of Urania A#514**Albida**
Out exploring the back of the Cotter with albida33 and Joolay. Lovely creek crossing here. Thanks for the hide Tankengine
Followed the track marked on my gps next to the creek, not that the track existed much, it was more of a slightly less scrubby area. Could see some wheel ruts every now and again. QUick find this time at gz. TFTC.
Found at 10:08:00 AM
I had to search for a few minutes, but had time up my sleeve. Eventually I stepped up my game and was rewarded.
Thanks Tankengine

A brisk Sunday morning mission with ZQX, AngelG27 and Fox in Jox to collect the Hardy Hill cache. Afterwards we stopped here for a quick find on our way to get another of the new Pierces caches. Quickly spotted. TFTC.

Cache 7960 on 18 Jul 2021.
A very early start this morning with the gang (TikvaNZ, Fox in Jox and ZQX) to grab a few of the newly placed caches in Pierce’s Forest. I particularly wanted one cache, so the others were bonus caches for me! Lots of hill climbs, some easier than others but all good exercise and fun with friends. ZQX had to dash off after the first couple so the rest of us carried on for a few more caches before deciding our traditional breakfast at Denman Prospect was calling us! A great morning of caching, exercise and fun!
Second one for the morning, and a nice easy one to gather our breath on. The causeway had a fair amount of water running over it, but okay for the cars to drive through and get some mud off the tyres!
Thanks Tankengine for the cache and the fun!

Out and about with Team FATZ (Fox in Jox, AngelG27, TikvaNZ and ZQX).

We (Fox in Jox, AngelG27, TikvaNZ and ZQX) had almost passed this cache when someone realised we were just a few metres away from one of the new trads. So we pulled over and headed wandered over to GZ. TikvaNZ saw the cache first. I had been looking at the wrong angle and at the wrong feature. This was one of three for me on an enjoyable Sunday outing. During the trip I saw a sunrise, several wallabies, some nice views, some interesting rocks, and three geocaches. I also heard many species of native birds. At 0700 some of these birds were in full voice, welcoming the day. It was very nice. The wind was a bit chilly but beanie, gloves and scarf (and four layers of clothing) meant that the wind didn't affect me much.
Thanks TE for another good one.

Woohoo [FTF] with Mountainsbeyond , Contesta , StarsAlign & GeoPartner. Signed the cache DSD.
I headed out to get this cache at about 0830 and ran into Mountainsbeyond , Contesta , StarsAlign & GeoPartner who were chasing the same FTFs as myself. All caches were found without issue.
Included some random photos with my log for entertainment.

[FTF] with the Dream Team!
A great day of caching (despite the weather being not so great) in Pierces Creek Forest today. When we saw some new caches published last night a plan was hatched with the Dream Team of StarsAlign and Contesta to pop out and explore some exciting-sounding locations.
Once we made our way into the forest we met up with DSD who was chasing the same caches - great to have some extra company today. Bespoke coordinates helped enormously with some of the slightly trickier (for me, at least) placements in this series, and we did quite some climbing up and down hills here today.
This cache was a quickish find at GZ after I had the wrong idea at first. Always nice to find a blank log!
Thanks, Tankengine - we had a great time out here.

Another bridge covered in water made for a picturesque photo. Quick and easy find. TFTC Tankengine.
**Our Half Day Adventure**
Last night the Dream Team (Mountainsbeyond , Contesta , StarsAlign ️️ ️ & GeoPartner ) hatched a plan to undertake a group adventure. However, as our name implies we needed our sleep AND to sleep-in so it wasn’t going to be a very early start therefore risking the FTFs. Luck was on our side today.
Mid-morning the Dream Team came face to face with a member of the Adventure Boys both hunting for the same thing —->> to bag a heap of the prized Tankengine FTFs. The Mexican standoff was short lived and we joined forces after a peaceful resolution. After all, the Dream Team had been dreaming overnight for a 7 out of 7 (well, me anyway) and this was still achievable - and 'sharing is caring' - right?
This adventure was quick and did not require much walking, and we did not need to use our mountain bikes. It was easier to walk in from locked gates, and bush bash to the hill tops as required. It was great fun caching under pressure as we walked briskly not knowing who would appear suddenly to snatch the FTF. There were plenty of kangaroos and wallabies to enjoy ️ roadside and in the bush and we heard in the distance the odd Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoos.
Fun was had by all and along the way we recounting caching stories and disasters despite the threatening weather that finally closed in on us when all caches were in hand .
