Did a bit of head scratching for a minute then looked and voila! TFTCDown for a bird show so nice to have a few within walking distance while we wait
It so feels like being REALLY sidetracked around here. We had the extra fun of orienteering around road works and the new Baypark cycle trail to get here. Cache is all good. TFTC
Heading along this stretch of road so stopped in for a quick find. Sad so much rubbish around.Thank you tryfyn for placing this cache.Log signed as B&PFind number 5101
The other team members were still up North, so I earmarked Saturday for a caching day. Tried to focus on solved puzzles, and was hoping to knock off a couple of wherigos but ran out of time. Another traditional for me here. A nice quick find with the bonus of a train being parked up right here and then beginning to move as I was signing the log. Love this series as the history makes for some really interesting reading. When another team member was regularly commuting to Hamilton we would often discuss how it would be great if there were a train service from here to there. TFTC
In Tauranga for a weekend away. Morning drive found us collecting a couple of caches in Papamo and surrounds. Quick find. TFTC
SideTracked find 240The stop go traffic continued. A second quick find. Cache and log are good. Plenty of room still on the the log. TFTC tryfyn.
Spending the week at Bay Park so I made this a quick find as we left the venue to keep my streak going. I enjoyed the hide.TFTC
Quick overnight stop for a service on hubbys bike, while doing that I needed a run so thankfully packed my running gear and a pen and ran to find these caches managed a total of 13km before hubby picked me back up, thanks for the placement cache was in good order.
Spending a few weeks working in Whakatane. Had the weekend free so headed off for some caching. Have enjoyed several in this series both in NZ and the UK. Love trains and miss the opportunity to ride them. Quick find. Cache all good. Thanks tryfyn for the history and a smiley.
popped out at lunchtime today to pick this up while playing some bridge at the nearby arena. thanks tryfyn for placing the cache here and the interesting history of this place.
Out to get another dot day. A well placed cache and I did enjoy the easy parking. Cache soon spotted and log sighed. TFTC
A quick find at night on our way home from an appointment across town. Every time we see the SideTracked series, we wonder if we will ever see passenger trains gracing the tracks again. It might help with some of the road congestion!
Cache was in its spot, safe and sound, and in good condition. TFTC

A random Saturday off work so I headed out for a couple of caches. Another excellent write up and a cache that was found quickly & in good condition thanks to a straight forward hint and placement. Cheers tryfyn and TFTC

Nice hide. Had to use a Tot to get to it. Good to get this one close to work. Tftc
Fifth one for the morning, and have managed to stay on our list and not get sidetracked

Another comprehensive history here. Only so many spots to hide a log here.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Nice afternoon out collecting some caches. Another one in this series and one of many The railway was certainly a big part of our history and still here. TFTC
Had a spare day. Nice to have some new local caches to discover and a good start for the new souvineer challenge. Found lying on ground, replaced in obvious place. Thanks Tryfyn
Didn't have much on tonight so thought a wee drive and a few caches were on the cards. Saw this one come out but not often over this side of town. Be interesting to see what the area looks like in a year or two.
Awesome co ords..congrats Tryfyn your accuracy is breath taking...it was race between granny and junior itsallgood won ..fetching the container with a wry smile on his face great history here Tryfyn I enjoy the read many thanks
The day was such a beauty we just had to loop back and get this cache. We parked on the side of the road adjacent as the road was quiet. Wrong! A truck and trailer unit in training mode, complete with learner driver and supervisor slowly approached the car with a very long line behind it. As always happens, at that same moment a long queue of cars appeared from the other direction. Ooops we got filthy looks from the supervisor (obviously a testing learner). Anyway Jr cacher ran over to the likely hiding place. So very glad he had small hands as extraction was made easy. He was so happy to get the cache out he didnt notice his immediate surroundings. When asked to replace the cache he balked as he noticed all the glass. His older brother had just had a very traumatic experience with glass and he wasn't keen to follow suit. Thanks for the cache series tryfyn.
Came over from Rotorua for the afternoon with Squirrel Nutcase and meet up with Philip.Perry and Fap from FapandGap do grab a few caches and clear out maps. Thanks for your placements caches all in good condition.
Spent the morning watching grandkids doin there sports thing.Had lunch & thought i will have a quick look on the website & low & behold there's a new one less than 2km away with no logs so away i'llgo .Nice easy find tryfyn but bugger, got beaten for FTF by 5mins.Really enjoying this series, the history is awesome, thankyou.
area deserted when we arrived here.
no problems with find.
i think we would have had a ftf here if we didn't go to the far end of Papamoa first./

Arranged to cache the afternoon away in Tauranga with (Mr) Davidson clan. Then the phone calls started coming in, and we were joined by Gap (of Fap and Gap), and Phillip.Perry. This will be fun…
We love a bit of railways and history, so it was great to see another of this series published. We noticed that no one had logged it, and it was shuffled up the to do list. However, by the time we arrived, the cache had been well and truly visited…Thanks tryfyn and TFTC.

Nice quick find on our way home from getting our Covid shot. Really didn’t expect to be FTF at this time of the day. We’ve located quite a few of the Sidetracked hides in the UK so great to see them being established in NZ nice wee hide TFTC.
