Found some weeks back. Catching up

Finally found it! Fishing rod first from a distance as it was about 10 to 15 m from where we were looking. Managed to replace the cache and then made a repair to the rod. That was fun!

Took some time but found it just before giving up. Very creative & A+ for effort. Really tested my upper body strength lol

Nice sunny Sunday over in northern suburbs of Sydney. Came here for Geocaching NSW social event. Were aware of such difficult rated caches over here. Brought our TOTTs - magnifying and long. At first, we couldnt see clearly in the skies let alone the tree branches. Widened our search and my geospouse Graubunden spotted it finally. Good thing its a winter day, not too hot out here. She made the long retrieval and I safely repositioned it back up there. Another FP. TFTC bella at waggy

We struggled to find it. Even with a visual tool. Expanded our search and finally I spotted the fun cache. Fetched it with our poling tool, along with SurdiVisio. After we finished, we saw a natural tool nearby. Thanks b@w, favourite point awarded. My 250th find

Find #9No Muggles, lovely weather. Had to call in someone taller to collect this one.Went fishing in the bush for this one, a simple catch, log and release for this little guy! A bunch of laughs retrieving this one, not to mention at the cache itself! The hand-made TOTT fishing rod was impressive ngl. TFTC.

Found this cache while passing through the area with ilook4geo. Stood and did some gazing until the target was spotted. Had the right tool on hand and was able to retrieve it OK. Signed the log, replaced it and then sent the cache skywards again. Thanks for this cache placement go to bella at waggy.

Found this one with goingplaces2 and have to say the title is very true. Got it down OK, signed the log and hoisted it up again. All good here. TFTC.

Pretty high good job we had a scout on hand

After CCC#55 it was time for a tree fish nearby with Andrew. GHHH decided against it as he had commitments tomorrow, but as a seasoned fisherman, I couldnt pass conditions like tonight. You know what they say, best time to fish is at night (or something or other). I first had a scouting mission to see if there were any fish nibbling, after a few mins and expansion from GZ, I found the sucker. Back to the car for the rod, and another trip for a pen. It was then smooth casting with torch in mouth to retrieve the fish. Hold on, what the hell is this? Ahh okay. The fish seemed to be able to breathe oxygen, and it told me to cast a FP to CO. Okay then, I must oblige. TFTC

I did come here during the covid times before there was a restriction on the distance you could travel.Being a bird watcher I'm always looking up into the trees so spotting the cache was easy.Reaching it was another matter, even having an accomplice who had a TOTT. Unfortunately it wasn't long enough.Today, a couple of years later we returned. With a more suitable TOTT the cache was retrieved, but it was tricky and the fierce biting ants at GZ didn't help. Getting it back was much quicker. TFTC # 5699

#5836I arrived at GZ with Jackscruff to attempt this one for the second time. Our first attempt was quite a while back with a pole that was just a bit short on one end!!!Today, I had another sort of pole that slotted together. Jackscruff discovered the location of the cache and I while I went about preparing our TOTT. It was a bit wobbly but I managed to secure the cache for retrieval without too much effort. With the log signed, the cache was returned to it's lofty spot. This actually proved a bit easier than retrieval.Nice to tick this one off the local list. Thanks for the geofun B@W.

My third attempts - enjoyed myself.
It was good fun with the fishing pole.
Find it and sign the log as EV, and thanks for the cache and hunt.

Thanks for the cache.

We had our head in the clouds a few months ago looking for this one. We had 3 sets of eyes looking for 20 minutes at dusk with no luck. Today we spotted the head in the trees in less than 5 minutes. With our handy TOTT it was CIH and our names finally added to the log. A message to the CO meant he didn't have to stop for a cache check. The log is a little damp, but all good otherwise. TFTC

Together with Everest High and Brewmaker I visited this location on a previous trip to the CC&C event. After 30 minutes by neck was hurting from looking up and the twilight did not help either.
Today there was another attempt, and time for revenge. This time the cache was quickly spotted and using a TOTT we soon had CIH.
TFTC B&W.

Found on second visit to this location. OCW Brewmaker before CCC#42. TFTC

I wasn't planning on logging this as a find today. Instead, I just wanted to check what was required and what type of tools I might need to bring along at some stage. I don't have any experience with this sort of hide.

So, I was in the general area today, donating a pint of blood at the Dural Country Club. Since I don't usually come up this way often, I thought of looking for a few caches while around these parts. This cache was going to be a reconnaissance mission only.

I wasn't even sure I would spot the critter, based on some of the previous logs, but the co-ords were good, and sure enough, I soon had found the correct tree and had seen the prize. I couldn't quite make out what I was seeing, but there was no mistaking this being the cache. Hmmm, that didn't even look all that daunting ... I had expected worse. But it was definitely out of reach.

So, after the blood donation, and walking around staring up into the trees, I was feeling slightly light-headed, and just sort of floated up to the right level to make a grab. Actually, no, that would have been fun, but gravity was still firmly switched on. Instead, I wondered whether the environment would offer up a useful tool now that I was at GZ. A quick search turned up a very promising tool; alas, it was just a tad too short, and all I could do was prod part of the cache. An extension would definitely be necessary. Thus, another natural component was selected, and then the two had to be combined. I was very tempted to use the crêpe bandage wrapped around my elbow, but the nurse had said it should stay there for at least three hours. I didn't want to become the first geocacher to bleed to death trying to retrieve a micro in a tree. Therefore, more natural materials were used, and soon I had a workable fishing rod for the task.

When I got down the cache I almost laughed my head off ... Mmmwhahaha (ghoulish laughter). Yes, I do enjoy a good play on words. Loved this hide! The new log sheet is in good condition; the old one looks like a wad of chewing gum stuck down the bottom of the bison.

Quite pleased to have turned this one into a yellow smiley. Everything went back as found, and I was on my way to find some easier traditionals.

Find #: 2,800
Companions: None
Muggles: None
Weather: Lovely autumn afternoon
Cache condition: Good (replacement log holding out well)

I needed to drop my dog off at the nearby Pet Resort, and afterwards headed 500m to this cache. I had prepared for this eventuality, so had my TOTT at the ready and headed along a familiar path (night cache?) towards GZ. I think I need a version that can search out these caches, as it took me a fair while to locate the container, but once I had spotted it soon had CIH - TNLNSL. It then took a few goes (resulting in a few choice words echoing over the valley) to put it back where I found it. TFTC

Tagged along with MC and DKM to find this cache. Added a WP logsheet as the existing log was damp.

13-Mar-22
Out caching with 4 Rods and Martin Cousins and this was another neck breaker cache that needed doing. Arrived at what I thought was GZ but it kept changing position and 4 Rods spotted the likely location. Out came the TOTT and before long we had our body less cache on the ground. Had a little laugh at the container used here and we did the legals and replaced as found. TFTCM
Cheers dkmacca

Went fishing today with a few friends, well we caught a few here and there but nothing too big to take home, so it was a sign and release back to there positions. Thanks for the laugh b@w

Second find of the day and this was great! [@JoshoForShort](http://coord.info/PRA1EEC) and i had a lot of fun trying to get this cache. TFTC!

OCW Robochau, this was an incredibly fun find for us! The TOTT we brought ended up being a tad short, but we managed to get an extra boost using some tools we happened to have in the car, and some of the ‘natural tools’ lying on the ground.

This was such fun, a lot of trial and error, and laughs were had. It took us multiple attempts to make the grab, but luckily we managed to get it back in our first go.

As mentioned, log is wet, but still sign-able.

Tftc and the laughs!

We had to go to the Galston Return and Earn, as Dural was too busy, so we decided to attempt this one on the way back.

It took a little while to find but, before too long, YGAT spotted it. I don't think I would ever had, so I'm going to struggle if I ever attempt another of this type unless I am accompanied by sharp-eyed assistants.

I only had my shorter tool fitted out, so it was a bit of a stretch, but I was able to retrieve it and, more importantly, replace it without too much trouble.

Good one, have a FP, thanks B@W.

15-Feb-22
I spotted it and Mr MR made the grab. The log is a bit damp but is not too bad and should dry out if we get a reprieve from the wet weather. Thanks B@W, a fun cache, a favourite from me too.

07-Feb-22
Spotted, but dont think I can make that grab right now!
Nice placement.

Came through with Team Canary and the CO on our way to the nearby CCC event. Spotted the gruesome ceremonial tsantsa on approach just as the CO confirmed what we were looking at. Nice quick retrieval. With the cache in hand we signed the log before replacing as found. Both the cache container and log are in excellent condition. Thanks for cache B@W worthy of a FP.

The following TBs came through for the mileage : Vanlith The Youngling, Bob geoMinion, Dave geoMinion, Evil geoMinion, Larry geoMinion, Jerry geoMinion, Stuart geoMinion, teamMerlin's 7 Deadly Ducks Tag (Lust), teamMerlin's Football, Mary Hyde's Treasure, Hidden Creatures Geocoin TB, Merlin's Steed

By the time I got my head around this one I had a sore neck from using the tool. Fishing is a seven letter word, I know another one for these hides.

Second time lucky with this tricky one, very light dependent and oh up there is it?
Thanks B&W

We'd been here a few weeks ago but the sunlight made it impossible to look in the right direction at the time. Back today with the darker grey sky, we finally spotted the grotesque sight. Had the Booos ventured east? Carefully retrieved after recent stories of pole-eating beasts, we signed and returned. Thanks B@W.

If you can’t see it, how can you retrieve it? I gave up after about half an hour.

After a monster effort we eventually reached GZ and the cache. TFTC

18-Sep-21
We knew what we were up for. Found GZ easily enough, but then we struggled a bit to retrieve the cache. We had concerns about our ability to return the cache to it's original position. Fortunately, we managed that without any mishaps and the first time.... beginners luck perhaps, considering that this was our first fishing cache.
Thanks, B@W. We had fun.

Family outing. After doing the AL at Fagan Park, we decided to do this cache also. Interesting location. Luckly, family members had the right tools. TNLN TFTC

Wow, I have never been fishing for a cache before.
I thought I would head out and see what I could find.
I teamed up with some other fisherman for this task.
Taking my very long fishing pole and big hook, I made my way to GZ.
Walking to GZ, I saw something catch my eye. Getting closer to GZ I lost what I had seen.
But it soon showed its head again.
After fitting my hook to my pole, I cast my line.
Bugger, I am about 1/2 meter short. We combined our 2 poles and we casted again.
This time we were successful. I completed signing duties and released the catch back into the world.
Thanks for a great experience.
Definitely worth a Fav point.

Well oh my goodness what a fabulous cache. This morning Cargo147 and I decided to actually leave the house and get outside out into this amazing weather. We searched high, we searched low. Almost at the giving in stage I caught sight of something odd. Well what do you know, there it is. Now, how to get it? All I can saw after some interesting try and fails we finally had the cache in hand. Now that was an adventure.
Thanks for another fantastic cache in our local area. Favourite point awarded. Happy caching!

After a long geocaching hiatus, it was only fitting that mbyrne26 and I got back into it with a new find on our own turf (being <10km from home was a massive selling point too given the current lockdown restrictions) and what a find!

It's amazing how everyone's clues always make more sense once you've found the cache, but the FTF was definitely helpful. GPS was jumping around a little meaning GZ was about 5m away from where the GPS pointed, thankfully mbyrne26 managed a bit of a jump to the left and a step to the right and found it. This however, was only half the battle. After some creative bushcraft, we constructed a solid fishing rod and threw our first line in. 25 casts later and we had landed a very unusual looking fish and a log to sign. Obligations completed and our catch released and we walked away very happy.

TFTC, C/O definitely one we won't forget in a hurry

Saw this one pop up late yesterday afternoon and for a fleeting moment I contemplated going for it. Now I'm no fisherman but I do know how to clean a pool.
In the end, I decided not to worry as the light was fading rapidly and it was getting too cold for this old bloke.
I left it to the FTF hounds.

Joint [FTF] with Crash and Purplepeolpleater full log to follow

05-Jul-21
I was alerted to a new cache close to home and certainly within my residential exercise area, so joined forces with Crash and Tardis in the dawn hours this morning for a mid covid-19 lockdown "FTF" attempt.
Thankfully there were no bloody GOMs around as they should all be locked down in their nursing homes and in any case this is a Traditional cache, so we went about our fishing frolics without the pressure of a GOM attack.

GPS reception was challenging which meant a lot of neck stretching to gaze up all the trees for about 30 minutes. Of course a wider search revealed a quite obvious object which was not as high as we had anticipated.
Tardis did the fishing honours, and reeled in a sizeable Frankenhead. If it had not been so cold, I may have been tempted to dance the Time Warp or sing the Monster Mash once we saw a blank log.
Great to collect a physical cache after relying on nearby ALs for the last week.

#5123 joint [FTF] with TARDIS 0061 and PPE

I missed the notification of this cache as I was still recovering from intense exercise earlier in the day. Thankfully, I received a nudge from Tardis and a pre-breakfast assault was planned. The sun had not fully risen by the time I started staring skyward at the trees. By the way, there are far too many of them and each with too many branches that it took 3 sets of eyes quite some time to focus on the prize. From there the fishing went smoothly and master angler Tardis reeled in a nice (but odd) specimen. We signed the log, and threw him back in the tree pond.
