A trip to Launceston for work on Friday and then a days caching on Saturday before returning to Hobart. The weather was acceptable for a days caching and after an early start I had a good day. Thank you Keechox for hiding and maintaining this cache. Found on 14 September 2024 at 8:40AM. This cache was my find number 11555Thanks for the cache

Another ghastly weather day, but by the time we had arrived here, the rain had stopped. We roved about the place and the GPS eventually settled. Concentrated on this area and hit the sneaky little jackpot !Our confidence escalated somewhat, so we are now going into town for coffees, virtuals and multis which might offer a bit of respite from the wind and rain. Thanks Keechox for your nasty little hide.

We are currently on a eight week holiday which is mostly spent in New Zealand and Australia. However, the first three days were spent in Singapore as a nice break from an otherwise long flight. We had about three weeks in New Zealand which went by too quickly. The remaining five weeks are spent in Australia. Last night we had the ferry to Tasmania from Geelong. Picked up our rental near the ferry and drove to Launceton where we will be staying for one night. We arrived very early. Luckily our room was already available. After settling in we went to explore Launceton and the surrounding area. We had a nice walk in and around the Cataract Gorge. We also went for this challenge. Apparently we were here around dog walking time. You can only stare at trees for so long before you get strange looks. Thats when we decided to left this one hanging. Nice trees though.

TFTC. Cache and contents are in excellent shape. Took a good 15 mins to find and ignore someone saying its the second tree its not.

After days of the occasional search, and a little help from a young geocacher, finally found this one. Not sure why someone commented that it was on the 2nd tree. Add two more newbies to the geocaching community! Thanks for the first find

My muggle friend and I had to go into Launceston to do some shopping and on the way home we stopped to get a few caches. These types of caches can easily disappear and then if youre in the right spot they magically appear.TFTC KeechoxKeep smiling

Still smokin' from spotting "Flying Fish" [GCA9M6M] in about a minute or so, i decided to tackle this one, which i do recommend NOT trying at night ha ha Big Grin

Over to the tree'd area i found it in the 2nd tree i tried in under 2 minutes... Yes! i'm still 'warm' ha ha... i'll take it.
Signed the log at 14:40 on Monday the 28th of August 2023.

Replaced as found and said a prayer for the next finder, as they may not be so lucky Big Grin

TFTC Keechox.
[A very sneakily hidden cache. MUST have lots of time for this one... don't rush it].

First Tassie Cache. Everyone must eat carrots in Launceston.

We are staying close by. Well 500m or so at the bottom of the hill…

My wife wanted to go for a walk so we headed here. Huffing and puffing later we arrived. A search gave us nothing so I stood back and said - that tree there.

I looked without joy but then my wife called out the magic words!

That’s a very small cache I must say.

Thanks for placing it for us to find

Cheers

Around and around I go. Have never been hugely successful in my past pine tree hunts. However, once I was on the correct tree it were not too difficult to find.. thanks for another..!!

I've been coming to this park since I was 6 years old.
Imagine my pleasure at seeing a geocache here.
I didn't find it, but I'm more than happy to have an ongoing challenge.
Thanks for the search.

Wow, I can definitely say I spent longer walking around those trees than expected. Even with two sets of eyes it took us almost an hour of searching. Although we were confident not to leave empty handed as it had been logged earlier today. Finally after coming from a new angle we completed the find. TFTC Smile

Found with AddisonPascal on his fourth attempt but luckily my first. Addison also managed some one of a kind CITO which was entertaining! A bit of a needle in a haystack, TFTC Smile)

Finally found this cache! I had looked for it like 3 times before with no luck.
ProjectLichen and I were looking for it when he found a hat cord that was likely mine from a previous attempt. And then I somehow saw the cache!

TFTC!

Great little spot!!!

29-Dec-22
This was a very tricky little bugger.
Our GPS was telling us to look around three or four of the trees.
So that's what we did.
Took us a while to see it but eventually we did.

Wasn't looking forward to this search, especially when we saw how dense the trees were as we approached. But luckily the cache was spotted really quickly.
Did notice one dog walking muggle in the area but don't think he even spotted us.
Thanks Keechox.

15-Apr-22
After reading the logs I was certain I would be here for a while seeing as I haven't been caching for a while, quickly spotted and off to enjoy a walk around a park I have never been to before. Thanks for bringing me here!

Great luck for a quick find. With GeoMaggie2. Found, stamped and replaced, with Maggie and Mollie, my GeoWesties, while roaming around Tasmania with our motorhome “Mylittlebus” looking for content for our TASMANIA ALL OVER facebook. Join us there. Thanks for placing this cache (and others), keeping us on our exploring toes.

Quick find purely by luck. Great spot. Thank you for the cache from GeoMaggie and her sidekick Bonnie. Travelling with Angus 88

21-Feb-22
It was back to Launceston today to look for a cache for the penultimate day of our 365 day streak. Reasonably accurate coordinates (very good given the dense tree canopy) and the luck of looking from the right direction at the right height led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Keechox for the cache. One day to go.

03-Feb-22
After a couple of DNFs I’ve checked on this one. Still there and in good condition. This cache was first found at 5:45 in the morning by torchlight, in the middle of winter, so it easy if you look in the right place

Today nettieknows and I went to town to find a few caches that had been placed recently in the last year.
I came here in the dark last time so back today and a few laps of the trees till I finally found the little cache. Nice hide that should stay well hidden for a long time

Yay, FTF at 5:45
TaurusSix sent an SMS late last night alerting me to this cache. Being tucked up in a warm bed I put it out of my mind. All too soon my alarm woke me and I saw it had not been found. There were aspects I expected and other I had not. It was a matter of a methodical search by torchlight before I spotted it, I could so easily have not. Then the checking for a blank log - it was so.
