Wasn't sure which way to approach this one, but luckily there is a bridge across the creek. Took note of the name of the cache and didn't come on the weekend. Made a quick find and not so quick retrieval.
TwoEms were greeted with a fluttering cacophony at ground zero. We tread lightly, but anyone would have thought we had shaken a tree filled with a hundred ticking wind-up toys. All at once, a flock of Crested Pigeons were making a ridiculous, rapid-flapping, trilling-winged raucous as they took flight to get away from us. Luckily the feathered crowd werent scared enough to drop any lucky charms on us, and we were soon left alone. We eyed the challenge that stood before us. Neither of us had attempted such a feat since we were half our heights, or half our wits. Memories of getting stuck up monkey bars, or stabbed and scratched by branches came welling up with excitement. We felt young, and we felt old, but together we made a super power. After one of us spied the prize, the other got to play monkey to claim the find. Thank you for the cache.
Easter Saturday caching adventures. Signed the log. Thanks for the find! We sent daddy geocacher up the tree as kids couldn't reach haha. Clydekitty.
Glad the branch was strong enough to hold me!Took a while to locate the cache, coordinates are spot on.Thanks BernieH for taking us on a trip down memory lane.
Mr Fleabag- has a goal to reach 10,980 geocaches before departing Australia to celebrate a big 11,111 milestone overseas and invited me to join him for a day's caching.Luckily it's not game day today, so we can cross country across the pitch? course? field? grassy green to get out of the sun quickly.the cache was spotted quickly and fleabag- went in for the retrieval.thanks for the hide
Currently trying to finish the year with a few finds to etch closer to my 11,111th cache.Out with KristysAdventures today with the sun shining down. This cache was a nice stretch and balance. Kristy spotted it so I did the retrieve. Thanks to BernieH for the fun and the adventure.
Good news was that today was another Friyay (My work gives me the last Friday afternoon of every month off thus the 'yay' part) so a perfect opportunity to work on completing the hard souvenir for the favourite fan challenge for this month.
I started of trekking around Warrandyte hills gold country and then headed over to Croydon for some less strenuous finds.
As I was walking towards this I checked out the photos so had a perfect idea of where it was. So on arrival I was the only person in the whole area so up I went and found it straight away.
Thanks BernieH for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

That required a little bit of balance and dexterity. Thanks BernieH for bringing us here this afternoon. On to the next nearest cache.
Hidden in plain sight, clever idea for a hiding spot.
Parts of the tree have come down, thankfully the cache has not been comprised.
For a cache tucked into a park within the suberbs, one of the more adventurous finds.

Heading out to dinner with Geoturtle37, but I need a cache for the day, so we stop here - the current closest to home.
Upon arrival I soon realise it's probably not the best cache to find in a skirt with thongs. Oh well, gotta be done.
Thanks for bringing me here by placing this cache, BernieH

I knew what I had to do, but it been raining have to come back when it’s a lot drier as the tree was wet
Found it I thought when I was leaving, I located it realise it wasn’t that far up so I went for it anyway TFTC BernieH!
this was our 100th find, and what an awesome one!! initially we were gonna go after the adventure cache behind the softball pitch, and even though it was realllly muddy, we were determined until a literal swarm of bees crossed our path! as i have anaphylaxis, this was both really scary and an impassible obstacle.
so we headed for this one, crossing straight across the oval, and reaching the other side we saw the gate was quite a distance away, so i jumped the fence and mum/jayzcat was like “nah it’s alright you go get it!” to which i said “no way, this is number 100, we’re both going!” and she LITERALLY just said “f—— it” and threw herself over the fence!! laughing, we made our through the grass and mud and found the tree.
i clambered straight up it, glancing around to try and spot it. once i saw it, i said in a nervous voice “found it” because damn it was up high.
so i climbed over to it, up the branches, and hoisted myself up even higher so i could swing either leg over and unscrew it with both hands. climbed back down to grab a pen to sign it and take our cache selfie, and the branch i was resting my right leg on gave way and i almost fell hahaha returned the log and climbed back up to put it back.
thank you for the cache Bernie, yours are so much fun to look for!!

This would definitely be interesting on game day as there are a lot of recreational areas spread around here. We might have done better to wait for it to dry a bit more but we didn't have any problems. Once the cache was spotted, signing duties were performed and the cache returned without any incidents. Thank you for this cache.
Not sure that we shouldn't have left this one until the weather improved but it wasn't too bad. The creek has been high but not a much debris as there might have been. This took a little while to spot but once found, the retrieval was quick and easy. Thanks for the cache.
rain, rain, go away
come again another day
rain was the story of our geocaching day
here we found a thematic aperitif
a vast expanse of grassland should offer water plenty of chances to escape into the soil
but after a week of steady rain, the soil can only absorb so much
so the ovals were covered by a layer of water
water reaching further into our shoes and socks with every squelching footstep
unlike us, the creek has loved the rain
you can read in the flattened reeds where it has swollen and burst its banks
but not high enough to reach this treasure
thankfully we could rise higher than the creek
though end up almost as wet

Nice easy find. Had to wait for a pair of muggles to leave though so pretended to show interest in the creek lol but got it done after a few minutes of waiting. TFTC
Last time I was here on my own and didn't feel like it was a good idea in case I would fall, however this time I had snyper7 with me and since I already knew where to look it was a nice quick find! Tftc!
Took us a min, my kids were a little short for the climb but I got there in the end
Last week, RedCBBlueBM and I came here and discovered the cache. Deciding a TOTT was required, we returned today, fully equipped, and soon had the container in hand.
Signed, and returned to it's location, we moved on, enjoying the beautiful sunny day.
Thanks BernieH.

This one was another return visit with CrustyVarmint. Last visit was just too wet and without tools. We came ably equipped this time to tackle the job......Well done Crusty! Thanks BernieH for this cache.
Well.. somehow I've ended up in a tree two days in a row for the sake of geaocaching. I think I'll go out on a limb and say that the dirty clothes, muddy shoes and many puddles I walked through to get to this cache were worth it. I love qhen a cache is challenging to get, in a physical way more than intellectual. I will need to return someday to find the cache near the playground as it has eluded me today.
Thanks for the fun cache!
Thanks for the fun cache!
Set out caching from Telefreaks house. I brought geoboy particularly to do this cache. He made a quick find and dropped the cache down fir me to sign. He insisted we try to throw it back to him. It probably took just under 10 goes before we threw with accuracy and he caught it. Thanks for the cache.
Youngest climbed the tree for a fairly easy retrieve. No one was around so we were free to take our time. Thanks Bernie!
Found it . Tricky climb for an old bloke but happy to have this one in the book..TFTC Bernie
I made the mistake of coming here on game day lol. However the muggles were all distracted leaving me to sneak over and find the cache.
This is probably my favourite style of cache at the moment, not terribly hard to find, and a fun easy little tree climb.
The tree chosen is so great for climbing, hidden away from view, and so gorgeous.
I really enjoyed this cache and it earns a favourite point from me.
The cache is in great shape, the connector to the tree is nice and sturdy, and the logbook was nice and dry. TFTC

A fun climb during a smokey sunrise. No one around and even no traffic too. I think this may be the last of the Bernie cluster (for now...) Thanks for placing all the caches, has helped with the streak which will probably end soon.

I just bought a new telescopic ladder nearby and wanted to test it out, and here we are
Fortunately no game on when we arrived

TFTC... Did not climb and do log as I was on a wander while supporting someone at work could not chance an incident
Didn't know this park existed. Arrived at GZ and eventually spotted the cache way up there. Hmmm, not for me
Well saw it, however given I had a bilateral hip replacement in the last 18 months, not for me, my surgeon would kill me if I stuffed up .

Out with BoabTree, we had a very successful day caching in the Croydon area.
We were just out caching and hadn’t looked at the terrain. It was a - not me moment - to climb, so I watched on as BoabTree ascended upwards. Finally signed for both of us, I breathed a sigh of relief. I can’t imagine a sawmill nearby nowadays. Thanks BernieH.

We headed for GZ without checking the attributes of the cache. At GZ the cache was spotted. Hmmm. Echidnas do not climb, so it was up to Boab to do the necessary. Courage was summoned, and after a bit of a struggle with the tightly done up container, the log was signed.
Accompanied with silence49, we had a great time finding your cache BernieH, thank you so much for placing it.
Out on a big morning walk, finding the new BernieH caches that all popped up as we came out of lockdown! All were very well-placed with thoughtful containers and helpful clues! I love a good tree climb and this was great fun - perfect! TFTC!
No game on today and we headed to this cache after having completed the others in this reserve. I don't do a lot of tree climbs but we decided to at least check where it was. Lyn spotted the cache and it seemed possible. So up the tree and I found a way access it without falling. Retrieval was fine but replacing it was a little trickier as I needed to use two hands - so much for having three points of contact! Carrying a camera also did not help. Thanks for BernieH for the challenge.
Found at 1:50 PM GAFF4 in the company of xambo4u.
We originally tried to access this from the sporting field on the east side of the creek (later found that there was a bridge that we could have crossed ). Went around to the reserve side and then found that the container was just a bit too far for an easy T3.0 grab. Had to do it one handed, which is ok to remove, but a horror to replace [B)]

Out and about with pprass like the good old days. Really nice green space and picnic area here. We first tried this one from the wrong side of the water stream. Once we got here we noticed the bridge that we could have used. Only took a moment to spot it and it was nice having someone else to do the climb today and i watched safely on the ground. Nicely retrieved and soon on our way. Thanks for the cache BernieH
Reaching the location where we planned to park and finding it rather busy I ended up having to to a couple of U-turns to pull up into a suitable spot with GJMMelb close behind. We worried that this one would be a no-go but soon found that GZ was not near the busy soccer pitch, and safely away from the men in white. Several Galahs watched on as we headed to GZ where G & I correctly guessed the likely hiding place, G was close by when I spotted it from a lower vantage point and directed him there. A bit of teamwork to sign the logbook and the cache was safely catched and replaced. TFTC - enjoying this new series of caches
We arranged to meet up with quiet1_au to find your new caches. This was next on the list and oh-oh it was a game day ... will this be a problem? We walked past the soccer game and around to the Cricket game and saw that GZ was far enough away to not be a problem. q1 saw the cache and GMelb retrieved

I found this cache today on my Monday Morning Croydon Cache Caper. This was our 9th cache find in this park. I thought that I had found the right hide spot straight away (which I had) and thought that I would climb first and look for the cache at that point. That did not work, so I climbed back down and searched again. I eventually spotted it so back up again. This one was just on (or really probably just past) my limits. Thanks from D B-A
*Found on the 28 Nov 2021 @ 9:50 am.*
*Cache find # 12072.*
Continuing on from the other newly published caches this morning, we headed to this one next before continuing on to the lake for a paddle.
We went for a stroll over to GZ and looked around in the up direction until it was eventually spotted then it was a matter of us going up as well, the cache was reached and the log stamped in second position, now onto the lake.
**Thanks to BernieH for placing this cache.**

**Find #4787**
**Traditional Find #2997**
I headed out with Steve to Lilydale Lake with our kayaks to find the water caches there.
The weather was perfect all day. We noted that another nearby cache had been logged but not by the FTF so we anticipated having been beaten to the FTF here and we were right. Steve spotted the cache and made the climb. I'd started climbing but had to vacate the tree to make way for Steve because he could reach it.

Just sitting at home contemplating cutting the lawn, when some new local caches popped up on my notications.
BernieH has definitely been busy lately putting out a bunch of new finds, and due to work commitments I had missed any chance of a FTF last week.
But not today, I have actually set myself a challenge to get a 100 FTF'S.
I definitely parked in the wrong location I'm my rush for the FTF, had to jump a fence and do some rock hopping across the creek.
But all worthwhile for the chance of a FTF.
Cheers BernieH for the early morning adventure.

After missing the FTF here this morning, I swung by on the way to the shops this arvo, and realised I had passed within 100m of the cache on the bike, less than an hour before the published notification came through.
So close, and yet so far.
I expected it might be a game day, but all was quiet when I arrived.
Employed the hint, but wasn't sure how far to take it.
Searching revealed a cache which definitely fits the hint.
Signed carefully, and replaced.
