We enjoyed a bit of a play at the beach before setting about looking for this cache. A really nice little beach and had a chat with one of the friendly locals. When I saw the size of the stump, my heart sunk a little, seeing the endless possibilities for where the cache could be hidden. There was no need to worry though, son walked right up and grabbed it straight away, phew! Tftc.
I was out in the area looking for caches with a friend . Nice hide . Refreshing to be out looking for caches . I needed guidance here Tftc
A nice spot down here by the water. I was stumped and then GAR came along and spotted the hide almost immediately. Just as well he indulged me in my wee caching trip today. Thanks for the excuse to come here and remind me how much I enjoy the views out in Mahurangi West Funkymunkyzone!
Went for a quick walk in Tawharanui Regional park this morning before the rain came down. Grabbed some lunch and as the rain had decided to stop we decided to grab some more caches. Parked up in the nearby car park. Took a quick stroll to GZ and and found this cache at this lovely quiet little beach. No one around today.
What a beautiful peaceful beach. The beach ducks were just wandering past but took no notice of us as we found the cache pretty quickly
I'm stumped as to why there is nobody on the beach today. That wind would blow away all of last year's cobwebs and hangovers. Wish we'd come here to drink coffee instead of going straight to Sullivan's Bay.
Considering how busy the neighboring beaches were it was very quiet here and this made it nice and easy to find the cache. TFTC
There were quite a lot of people out enjoying picnics etc this morning so we had to be a bit circumspect with our search of the obvious large object at GZ. We cannot say for sure that the cache is missing but it certainly has us stumped.
A lovely beach here, I've launched my kayak here on a couple of occasions previously, so it was nice to come back for a quick visit today. Cool hiding spot, TFTC
With the weather being a bit nicer, it’s obvious that a few are out caching and we are some of them. A nice little beach. TFTC
Thought it hadn't been found for a while but that turns out not to be the case.
Nice beach.
Nice beach.
With virtually no unfound caches available around Whangarei and the Auckland border reopening three days ago, I thought I had better make the most of the opportunity to grab some caches and the Reach the Peak souvenir, before Aunty J uses Omicron as an excuse to lock us up again.....
The plan was to head to Wenderholm and clear that area out, but this newish trail out to Mahurangi also looked appealing, especially as it is one place I have driven past 100's of times but never actually visited. That's one of the great things about caching - visiting new places..
A really beautiful little beach here and flat calm even though there was a stiff wind blowing down the gully behind. Murphy's Law, as I reached GZ, there was a local right there, readying his dinghy to head out to his launch moored out in the bay. It took him ages to get it ready and all the supplies he was taking out, so after chatting to him for a while, had to walk to the end of the beach and back before the area was clear to search, Then it was a nice quick find. Thx for bringing me to this new place. TFTC

Have never been here before so thanks for placing a cache here. Had to outwait to fishermen studying the beach & weather. They finally left to get their rods & i had time to find the cache. TFTC
Vistra and I were planning for a walk at Tawharanui today, but we never made it that far. We stopped off at Mahurangi to grab some the caches that had been published there recently and a few others too. A pretty wee bay and a quick find here.
AliGle and I were planning for a walk at Tawharanui today, but with a few new caches published around Mahurangi yesterday, combined with the fact that AliGle had a few unfound caches out that way, we decided that Mahurangi would be a more productive Geocaching day. First time down at this bay, made a quick cache find then took a walk along the beach. TFTC!
I am out and about taking advantage of the splendid weather today to engage in a spot of cache detection around Mahurangi regional park including a hike in the park. I made sure to visit this spot too. It wasn't so quite this afternoon, the beach I mean, as I took the last park in the car park. While there were people about enjoying the beach I figured they were not interested in me; cache with confidence! A super quick find was executed here. Cheers for sharing this spot; I snapped a picture to share. Thanks for the cache placement!
With the weather being better than initially forecast, Supernanny suggested a drive up here. I've not been to this part of Mahurangi before. Lots of activity nearby with some young guys getting their boat ready to go out diving and fishing but they took no notice of us and it didn't take long to find this one
Really keen to get out as the weather looks gorgeous!
Met up with merlot58 and we were both happy to do the two newish caches up this way....pleasant Saturday drive.
I concentrated on one side but Diane soon found it on the other side...!
Lots of boating folk around but they didn't seem to notice us!
Thanks!

Nice area to have a cache placed and signed in and admired the view here. After this it was off the the Regional Park for some up, and down. Cheers fmz.
Bit of a bigger day today, plenty of finds (35), 15 kms walked, and a few target areas visited and cached 'out'. I was on the trail at Moirs Hill/Pohuehue Falls Track, at 0700 and got back home at around 1630 after also visiting McElroy Reserve, Mahurangi West, and some smaller walks out the back of Puhoi so a variety of scenery experienced too. Thanks to all COs for their caches.

Thought I should try and get enough points for this month's peak souvenir just in case we go back to l4. Stunning place to visit today and no prob with the cache. Thanks
Not logging ftf here, that's been and gone. But I can happily say I was here at Mahurangi West with the C.O while he placed this - a spur of the moment decision. FMZ and I were just south of here at the regional park getting a ftf for the month of July, on a virtual cache, always happy we get that out of the way.
Quite warm when we were here, gorgeous location. Nice one FMZ. A FP for the fun we had and the excellent location.
