I'd solved this puzzle several weeks ago, after a significant period of time trying to analyse the clipping. I saved the actual cache until a day that I needed a mystery cache. Today was it.I was able to park close to GZ, so only a short walk and a brief search required before I had the cache in hand. All well in the container. Signed, and returned as found. Tftc!

This puzzle was an enjoyable spiral through old newspaper archives trying to find the trick. Then finally realising that something stood out I gave that a go and of course it worked... An enjoyable lesson and walk around the park today TFTC

23-Nov-23
I solved this puzzle a wee while back but never made the opportunity to go and seek the cache out. With some spare time today, I set off for the GZ and was pleased to make a nice, quick find. Thanks again KayGeeDee#4816

With the puzzle solved I decided to go find this one today along with a handful of other caches in the vicinity. A nice wall around the park culminating in a quick find. TFTC

07-Feb-23
Checked on cache today. All is good. The cache was actually still there and in good condition. The container found was for a previous cache that was at the posted coordinates and was then replaced by the "Lost Cache" by that CO.
Remember originally it was a tree climb so if the tree you are looking at is too small to climb try the next tree.
Thank you for solving my puzzles and then finding them.

This one is going to need maintenance. Glad to find it but a shame the weather bet me.

Cool puzzle, nice and easy find.
Thanks Quiri

A cool puzzle, soon got the prerequisite info needed after a short search, so it was off to the final today. Thankfully it was later in the day so not many muggles around. Another fun puzzle, and nice hide, cheers

Great puzzle. Nice and easy find, TFTC!

My eldest son was playing on the number 1 field at Wanderers so while he warmed up I wandered to GZ having solved this puzzle a very long time ago. Pleased for an easier than expected find. Thanks for the puzzle and the cache

Made sure I found a couple of caches today for IGD. Didn't have much time today to fit that in, but I had a couple of nearby solved puzzles which I thought would be perfect for today. Another great puzzle, I have looked for this one on a previous day, but then the sun was going down and I only had my phone for light. More luck today as I quickly spotted the cache. Thanks for the puzzle and hide.

One of 2 early morning caches in this area. I really liked the way this puzzle was put together. A very wet park but dry at gz. Glad I didn't have to leave the ground as not dressed for it.
Cheers Kaygeedee

Soled this nice little puzzle cool I thought...but aren't all geocachers lost until you find them at GZ ummm I thought this would be a DnF as the tree. had been well scraped and scratched around ...but on my final close inspection walla there it was thanks KGD..all good here

We've had an interesting day today starting with a cache at The Mount where we watched helicopter logging on the Mount. Action all the way. Then an unplanned trip to Hamilton. Just had to pick up a few caches in between. Loved this puzzle cache. Very clever. We were totally disappointed by the amount of rubbish around. Sad to see. At first we thought the cache really was lost as someone had cleared all around the host item. Luckily macwatt went the extra mile and located this cache. Whew. Thanks for the puzzle KGD.

We solved this within hours of it being published and then gave it a miss when tree climbing was involved. Now that it is a ground level we took a bike ride along Wairere Drive on a lovely calm day. An easy find now. TFTC.

A plan was made to head down to Hamilton/Hunty with Gorby, tramyard and rustynz for the day. It ended up being quite foggy and wet, but we didn't let that stop us.

With a previous finder who started for higher ground, before we had read the logs and realised that it was now lower than expected. Thanks for the cache and the puzzle.

Middle winter Hamilton / Hunty (18th) road trip with Aiden29, Gorby and rustynz on foggy and rainy day.
One of the previous finders was with us today and he was looking at the higher grounds but actually it was found on much lower level than expected.
TFTC!

A few weeks ago tramyard suggested another road trip for myself, rustynz and Aiden29, we asked nicely if Aiden would be so kind to be our driver again in her 'forensic' car. She was keen and today was the day appointed. I got picked up at 6:30am, then we drove over and picked up rusty then shortly after that tramyard. Then outa Auckland for Huntly and Hamilton for mostly targeted caches and an event at the RSA at 6pm tonight in Huntly.

Great fun returning here again, with tramyard, rusty and Aiden.

With gorby, tramyard and aiden29 on a fun adventure to Hamilton to find a couple of werigoes and attend the Huntly event Big Grin

Well I liked the way the puzzle worked, very clever, and once I knew where I needed to be, the information was soon being saved onto the phone. At GZ a bit of confusion, as we were not sure if we were on the right level, or not! gorby even climbed a couple of rungs, but I read thru the previous logs, and could see it was at GL. So with a bit of moving around of plant material the cache revealed itself, and the log was signed.

Thanks KayGeeDee for the fun puzzle, and hide today.

Did a maintenance check. Cache appears to have been ripped off it's hanger. Have removed the evidence of this. Located the lid and have left it where the previous finder placed. Good to go. Hint and solve updated.

06-Jun-22
I found this on a wet morning in Hamilton. Sadly it appears to have been muggled as I found bits of it on the ground. Put it all back together, but couldn't find the lid and although I could see the attachment I had no way of attaching it. Placed at the base covered in leaf litter, co may wish to check it all out. Not much more that I could do. Thanks for the puzzle and the cache though

Solved this one a while ago not too long after publication and had time to grab it late in the day as I made my way back out of Hamilton on my way back home. I approached from the wrong side so did not initially spot the cache but started to make my way up what looked to be the right place. I nearly went too far but had another look around and spotted it hiding on the other side. Next trick was to juggle all the contents while signing the log. All good here, TFTC.

28-May-22
Thanks for great puzzle. Took longer to find the lid I dropped than it did to find the cache. Thanks.

Another easy puzzle...came here when on a caching weekend with Merlot58.
I did the climb here!

30-Jan-22
Nice puzzle! Had no problems with solving this and at gz the cache was quickly spotted and Nette climbed and passed the log down to me to sign. I think this old girl could have even managed the climb myself.

30-Jan-22
Enjoyed doing this one. The solve and the retrieve. Looked for a while before finally I saw it. Thankfully this is one I don't need my hubby for. Lol. Fine for the vertically challenge. Tftc.

05-Jan-22
Enjoyed the solve of this one, and then sent Return2nai for the find, although we waited below. Lots of broken glass around so be careful. TFTC!

Solved just before heading north, and collected today. A nice quick find thanks.

Time for another trip to the North Island for Ms_KR and me. Wellington and beyond here we come. Today we toured to Hamilton on a warm summers day.

Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Xmas eve caching trip over the hill to Hamilton I had a few caches on my target list managed to find them all. Tftc

18-Dec-21
In a bit of a spur of the moment decision late last night, I decided to come down this morning from Auckland for a day of caching in Huntly and Hamilton. First time to be able to leave Auckland since August lockdown – whoo hoo! I had solved several puzzles while in lockdown and it was time to come and collect the finals. Had my e-bike in the van too. I left home at 6:30am, returned at 8:30pm and it was a fantastic day.

Came here not quite realising what I was in for! A tree climb as it turns out. Well, I have spiked my toe on a previous cache hunt, dry blood on my foot, so that's sore, I have a sore index finger somehow, very sore to bend, dunno how I did that one, I'm in jandals because of the sore foot I can't put on my shoes... what else... oh yes, I'm 61, should I even be climbing trees?

Looked at the possibilities, there are 3 trees close together, but co-ords pointed quite clearly to the middle one. I walked around and around not being able to see the cache before I attempt a climb. Was about to give up and text kiwicouple for suggestions, then I finally spotted it reasonably high up. Aaah hah!

So up I went, it wasn't hard at all, just took my time and plenty of branches to hold on to. Got the cache and unwound the wire to bring it closer to me, the wire broke and disappeared into never never land down below me. Rats! So I signed myself in, took the cache back down, could not find the broken wire anywhere and wondered what I was going to do. Had no tools with me in the van, no tape, no wire. So in the end just jimmied the wire that was left into a fashionable hook and rehung it back up near where I found it.

Sorry about that KGD, I think it will last awhile. But I fear a little intervention from the C.O might be needed. Thanks for the cache, nice easy puzzles I will never complain about.

21-Nov-21
Solved this soon after publication but lockdown intervened before I could collect. Dropped in today and saw what it was. I hate tree climbs. Couldn't spot it so started up. Got to the point where I was about to contact the CO to ask exactly how high it was when I spotted it about a foot above my head. Managed to get it open, sign it and replace without dropping anything, including myself. FP but I still hate tree climbs. TFTC.

travelling with fellow cachers that had worked out answer.
no problems to spot and retrieve.

I had itchy feet and a desire to Cache but I was also having car issues... Fortunately it was Fap'n'Gap to the rescue whisking me off to Hamilton on a mission to tidy up the few caches we have left to get there.

This puzzle was within my ability to solve.... just. The cache was found quickly and in good condition thanks to accurate coords and a straight forward placement. We also resisted the urge to move this one higher... Cheers KayGeeDee & TFTC Smile

26-Sep-21
My Dad is laid up in Waikato Hospital at the moment, so it's a no brainer to knock off a few local caches while we are in the area...

We solved this puzzle on the day of publication and had it teed up for collection at our soonest convenience. Unfortunately, another covid lockdown threw a spanner in the works. It meant having to park this cache until we could travel more freely... This was a straight forward find - Thanks KayGeeDee. TFTP and TFTC.

25-Sep-21
Managed to get muggle hubby to stop and help with this one today. Solved soon after publication. Nicely done. Many Thanks KGD.

solved a while back, finally got the chance so spent a while looking, adjusted position and then spotted it, easily made the grab.

12-Sep-21
An early morning raid around the city parks for caches I have not got.

There is nothing Mr Geckoh enjoys more than a little tree climbing, so this was a must-do! We are supposed to be heading home after visiting our newest grandson but these caches keep calling to us. Solved this one soon after publication so was pleased to finally sign it off. TFTPC

06-Aug-21
Another fun puzzle we soon had sorted. Stopped by this morning 'on our way' to Tauranga. One of us did the honours to retrieve the cache and sign the log. Thanks!

Favourite Point for this really cool puzzle even I could Solve !
Worth coming all this way down to Hamilton for....glad the morning fog lifted so I could see the tree....and eventually the cache!
Tree climbing is not really my thing ....but I perservered.
Then my pen wouldn't work so had to get down and return to car for another one!
Think I have really earned this smiley!

30-Jul-21
Had a go at solving this but needed further help from KGD before eventually having success. Arrived on a very foggy morning so had to take care on the climb. Plenty to hang on to and climbed further up than was needed. Spotted the cache as I slowly climbed down. Thanks for the challenge and your help KGD.

Got the beep last nite but had visitors so up early and signed and returned by 7am,
nice easy different puzzle. TFTC.

Up early with ABCDF4 and off to find, thanks for this placement, nice to see an
ouyatowner get a FTF. Neat location.

18-Jul-21
Yeah one I could solve. Carefully ascended to access the cache. Signed carefully so I didn't drop anything then went to put the lid back on and oh dear.... It fell. So a slow descent and re climb to put the lid back on. Thank you for the mystery.
