Out with Royalty, being TeamAstro and endeavour3 and having the local tour guide amongst them, made for a lovely adventure into the bush. Spending two weeks on Norfolk Island always wanted to visit, now Im here! And theres caches taking me to some magnificent places.. of course! Beautiful place, thank you Team Welsh for placing this game piece here, showcasing this lovely area and contributing to this great game for myself and others to enjoy. Happy trails!
Such a beautiful area. We continued over the grid, cached the cache, then had a look at the new bbq area. A walk up to the lookout. Apparently there used 2B a tea house at the top. They say it closed around 1930. So they say. Better ask endeavour3 for the full story. Found on the 2024 epic Norfolk Island jaunt. Thanks Team Welsh and clear skies from TeamAstro. Cache the planet! #6106I remember coming up this way back in 2019 to find the cache further up. Another puzzle cache ticked off the list. I'm so close to the end now. Woohoo!!!!! Thanks Team Welsh.
#7532- Solved this before coming and found easily. No longer standing. Thanks
We've been planning our NI GeoAdventure for months if not years, gradually solving all the puzzles. During the summer we had a few really hot days when it was good to stay indoors and solve a puzzle. This was one of those solves. It was easy but time consuming. At GZ the hint was a bit deceptive as the mentioned item is no longer standing but now having a sleep.TFTC # 6056
We spent a fun and productive week geocaching on Norfolk Island, as well as seeing the spectacular views. We also did several tours and other activities on offer, which highlighted different aspects of the island life and history. Thanks for this cache.
Found it with goingplaces2 & ilook4geo while on a 7 day epic trip with 33 other caches exploring this beautiful Island. Thanks to the CO for the cache.
With the puzzle solved and numbers in hand we were also able to find the cache container. We also spent a week on the island picking up the various caches on offer. Thanks go to Team Welsh for placinmg this cache.
Found with Ris768 while travelling on Norfolk Island TFTCLog 3324Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache Team Welsh
I like puzzles, but many geocaching puzzle cause more pain than pleasure. So I was very impressed with myself when I worked out how to solve this one. It took a while, but wasnt as painful as other puzzles.
Jumped in with an intuitive solve and later found there was a simpler way available. Found with MummyPenny this eving before a dining tour of the island. thanks Team Welsh.
#7585 NI Day 4With no organised events until late this afternoon, we headed out after breakfast to focus on the north eastern part of the island. This was our target for the day. Drove a little too far and walked back to GZ for a reasonably quick find. Always enjoy a good cipher puzzle.TFTC Team Welsh
My buddies: bella at waggyThank you Norfolk Island Visitors, for creating, placing and maintaining this cache. I have enjoyed finding it and visiting this spot.Follow my story on Instagram @AlphaDeltaIndigo

I enjoyed solving this puzzle, one I could do at home. Nice easy find on my to a lovely walking area.

It's 9 November and I'm on my 9th visit to Norfolk Island. The puzzle was quickly solved after a nudge and then I found the cache straight away. I dunno why I'm caching with a sore big toe and severe jet lag after pulling an all-nighter at Auckland Airport. TFTC
Over with IolantheK from Brisbane celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary [^]Todays cache collection is brought to you from the east side!!Puzzle of Island; IolantheK choose did the hard yards solving this one [^]On Island; Nice easy find and the cache is in good condition [^]TFTC Norfolk Island Visitors
T-Tech and I are visiting Norfolk Island for our 40th anniversary. We arrived from Brisbane and are staying for 2 weeks at Endeavour Lodge, and plan to get some R&R, see all of the sites, learn the history, and gather every cache here so we can claim the Se Dun Challenge Today's plan is to visit the Cascade area, and having completed that we made our way up to Palm Glen, as there are two caches we needed to grab. A quick solve at home and a quick find at GZ. TFTC, Team Welsh.
Found with the Canberra group on the 5th day of our Norfolk Island geocaching adventure. Day dawned wet with clear weather trying to break through. Log signed as Dem CBR. Tftc
1st cache of the day. Pretty chilly but the wind has dropped slightlyHow exciting to be at Norfolk finally. This has been the plan for so long. Lovely to be here with Contesta, barb2e, Strangetrousers and IPlod65, signing as DEM CBRThanks for getting me out and about Team Welsh
Find # 10473Day 4 in Norfolk, here for a week of caching fun with geofriends Joolay, barb2e, StrangeTrousers, and iPlod. Zoom zoom zooming around in Kermit (green not red) Logging as DEMCBR.Wild and wooly weather here again today This was a quick and easy find and here at Ikkot - Norfolk Island today. Thanks so much for the many caches Team Welsh and of course for giving me a reason and incentive to get out here, and to experience this part of the world in a different light
On holiday in Norfolk Island with StrangeTrousers. Beautiful Island. TFTC signed as DEM CBR
# 8957 Norfolk Day 4, team "Dem CBR" myself, iPlod65, Joolay, barb2e and contesta had another fantastic day of caching and exploration. Another day of hard climbs starting with a trip to Bird Rock. It's a steep walk down there and even harder back up. The rewards were there withe great views and some whales to watch. Then we headed over to Cascade Bay to grab the caches over there. It's a rough path to cascades along the cliffs but well worth the trip. Puzzle solved with the group some time ago now.Logs signed collectively "Dem CBR", which in local parlance is "them from Canberra".Thanks Norfolk Island Visitors for the Mystery Cache
1st find for my 2023 trip!Found fast after some assistance with the puzzle from Portstevo on the mainland. Nicely sheltered from the wild wind here! Tftc
Just remembered we were here on placement, which was a while ago. Logging after the fact with CO permission.
The palm glen circuit was one of the tracks Mrs. Gunnie and I had not walked around, but were keen to. So, that was this morning's plan after an all important coffee and bite to eat.
Along the way, I pulled up at GZ for this one, found a very convenient parking spot and headed into GZ. I was just starting the hunt when a tour bus passed by. I gave everyone on board a courtesy wave and watched them drive on. It seems waving is a thing here, so I was just doing my bit.
The cache was spotted shortly after my newly acquainted friends had gone, so I added my name to the log and tucked it back in place.
Cheers Norfolk Island Visitors.

Solved puzzle from home following a tip from Endeavour 3. We are not big in puzzle solving. Today we found the cache while exploring NI by geocaching. TFTC
With our time on N.I. running short due to someone called Gabriel, we are rushing to catch as many finds as possible. Found and logged easily. Thankfully not too much of a walk. Tftc, kiwis visitors.
Another mystery solved by my husband. This was an easy find once we had driven in over the rough road. Thanks for the adventure.
Solved in the early hours of a morning in January, in preparation for our visit. Hoping to spot a green parrot as we wander. Almost but not quite a park and grab. Left a unicorn pencil. TFTC
Had solved this the other day but with time on the island coming to a close we darted out quickly this morning for a quick find and sign. Thanks for the cache
Our 2nd day on Norfolk Island, Wazza9 made the find, stamped log and replaced. Thanks to CO.
Solved the puzzle before leaving home.

I had a couple of hours to fill in while my muggle friends did a tour that I had done on a previous visit. Caching was again on the menu. Unfortunately I didn't have enough time up my sleeve to do the first one that I had targeted, so second choice was this one. As I drove towards GZ I was so glad that it hadn't rained for a couple of days.
I parked up and soon had the CIH and the log signed. Thanks Norfolk Visitors and endeavour3 for placing and maintaining this cache. TNLN

On 15 October 2022 a new batch of prisoners were shipped out of Brisbane to spend 7 days incarcerated on Norfolk Island. It has now been 2 nights and 3 days into their sentence at Ocean Breeze Cottages.
The prisoners have made several unsuccessful attempts to find escape routes from the Island. To date including today's visit to the whaling station.each of these attempts has been fruitless.
With time on the escapees hand puzzles seemed to be a solution. So what is a Ikkot, the prisoners pondered. A track heading to the actual posted cordinates was discovered during an earlier escape attempt. Who actually knows? There are enough colours going on to confuse the best British Colonial Navy Sailors.
Seems we might pine over a solution for days.

TFTC Thank you for hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity. Thanks for including a puzzle.
An early morning visit to the National Park to complete a couple of previously solved puzzles. This was a straightforward find, log signed and replaced. TFTC
Time to head to Norfolk Island to celabrate our 70th birthdays. When we were here before we were not geocachers, this visit will be spent gathering geocaches and revisiting our favourite places. Our appologies for the generic logs it does not take away the enjoyment we have found in the fantastic places athey have been placed and all the different styles of caches that we are enjoying,

After breakfast, Mum and Oliver dropped us at the carpark here so they could go swimming and shopping while we had a nice walk through the National Park grabbing 5 caches throughout the period of our walk. Really nice area to hike and get some caches in the process!
After finishing a nice walk we headed for this one. Picked a bunch of Cherry Guavas while walking to this one as we didn’t have much food and were a bit hungry. Well anyways at GZ we quickly found the cache in its hide. Cache in good condition!

While my wife and youngest were swimming, Samuel and I went bushwalking. We were going to leave it until the weekend, but didn't want to chance the rain - it even started to threaten again today as we drove up the mountain.
Oliver and I had fun solving this one in Sydney - I had never done one before, we've learnt something new... cheers.
This was the designated pick up spot after our drop off around the corner, so we found the cache, then wandered back up to the shed to sit down in the shade while we waited for our car to return.... TFTC!

We’re letting geocaches lead us around the island and boy, we’re seeing some great spots.
This was a not-too-hard puzzle to solve…. we like that. Thanks.
Today we found your cache. All is good here.
Thank you.

Today was our first full day on NI with the weather overcast and only a few short showers. Due to the number of caches found, will do a generic log. Thank you to the CO's for placing these caches in the respective location. These caches brought us to many great views of this beautiful islands. TFTC
Spending the day caching around Norfolk Island between a few showers. We covered quite a bit of the island and traveled along many of the minor roads.
Thanks to the COs who have placed hides on the island as well as Endeavour3 who has many caches, as well as maintaining the caches of others.

Aquilus1 and myself were on a mission: Go to Norfolk Island and clear the place out in 48 hours! This we achieved as we arrived well prepared, having ground out the puzzles (some with assistance) so that we had coords for nearly all hides before leaving Australia.
Brain tickler test & vaccination certificates in hand, we were shocked on arrival that our Australian mobiles had no roaming coverage....NONE! But, thankfully it seems most accommodation not only comes with a car, but comes with a phone as well.
I swear we did at least 5 laps of the island, I knew my way around very well by the end. NI is such a beautiful place, I am coming back with the family in a month and I already know exactly where I will take them.
On our first day we hosted an event and thankfully the local legend cacher, endeavour3, graced us with his presence. Some sage advice on the trickiest of NI hides was gladly received
And, it has to be said......OMG THE HUMIDITY!!! Canberra has none at all, it was a major shock to the system!

Solved easily enough and found just as good.
Trip log: Norfolk Island... Not something we had been planning to do but with GreyHams noticing travel here was starting up again, a good deal on flights and that this would count as a new caching 'country' this was indeed a very tempting location to visit.
Puzzles were solved, our double vaccinations certificates ready to go. A last minute change in the entry requirements added our PCR tests... but we arrived.
We had a challenge to collect as many of the caches as we could in the 48 hours we would be on the Island... A caching trip, but one that guided us around into every hidden gem the Island had to offer. All its beauty, history, scenic and quirky... and moisture! Humidity that sucked the energy out of every pore as we sweated our way about, but it was awesome!
An event the first evening was fantastic to meet with endeavour3, a wealth of local knowledge and assistance... both caching and the local area. It was great to confirm details, amend as needed and with a few DNFs help us back on track.
An honourable mention to the cows, especially the one that licked all over the car, the feral chickens (but not the roosters that wake up far to early and noisily) and the very friendly waving people everywhere we went!
Thanks for your cache that helped guide us about, and can all the caches be found within 48 hours... I'm very pleased to say that yes we could!

A nice quick solve using a resource I only learned about this year. An enjoyable puzzle. Present at placement and pleased to see endeavour3 get an FTF here. Thanks, Team Welsh.

Watawieh from Norfolk Island South Pacific.
First to find @ 15:45 [FTF]
Having recently hosted a group of visiting geocachers from New Zealand I was quite surprised when this popped up. Despite solving lots of puzzles this was the first time solving this code.
This cache will make a nice addition to the variety of caches on Norfolk Island. I will certainly look after this cache. TFTC"

There when Team Welsh placed this cache. Enjoyed the solve of this code, and happy to add another puzzle find to our Norfolk Island finds. Thanks!
