This OH-PA border monument, which is 7' tall, is located on Oak Street Extension on the Lawrence County PA-Mahoning County OH border.
Place by the Kiwanas. This monument is on the Niagara river, border between the USA and Canada.
Placed July 1, 1939.
Placed July 1, 1939.
This is a border monument between Canada and the USA at Nelway B.C., therefore a marker between British Columbia and Washington State. Canada is on the left and USA is on the right. We were able to straddle the line for both the pose and the photographer!!
Found German-Luxemborg Border at Wasserbillig- Wasserbilligerbrück near Trier.
Actually the Border is the River Sauer and there is a marker on the Bridge.
Due regulations of the European Union there are no longer bordercontrols, even there is no one watching the boarder either.

Wales & Holland?? Found this interesting border crossing between two towns in Massachusetts.
Switzerland is divided into 26 cantons. This solid rock marks the border between the two cantons Zurich and Aargau.
On picture 1 the upper flag is the one of Zurich, on picture 2 (backside of the rock) the upper flag is the one of Aargau.
I am not sure, what the lower flags are standing for; maybe the flags of the villages at this border: Hüttikon and Würenlos.
The pictures were taken on 4:50 local time; the yellow item is my GPSr.
Best regards, PicoKnirps (Switzerland)

There really is a border marker there. Due to safety, it was not easy to get closer. The border is between Fall River Massachusetts and Tiverton Rhode Island. The granite marker is actually etched on 2 sides, MA and RI. Pictures are best I could do without getting run over, marker is in the middle of the hiway in the grass there. Thanks!
This is a very special border monument. It is the old chackpoint of the border between eas aand west germany near Helmstedt.

This is a very cool cache! The photos and waypoint were actually done a couple months ago (10/8/05), so I hope it still counts.
This is Monument 78 on the US/Canada border, and it is an incredibly special place for us. This is the official terminus of the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail. We started April 22nd at the Mexican border and hiked more than 2000 miles on this trail to reach Canada on October 8th.
The area is a just clearcut in the forest - no fences or immigration officials to be found. No roads either for that matter, until we reached Manning Park, BC, 12 km away.
One very cool thing about this monument is that the top comes off! No kidding - see the picture! There is a trail register inside the monument for hikers to sign as they finish their journey.
Thank you for this cache and the opportunity to share my story.

Right on the border between the cities of Mesa and Chandler Arizona lies this attractive border monument that the City of Chandler set up. It is made of sandstone and glass. It also illuminates at night. There is a corresponding one on the other side of this highway that runs through the heart of Chandler.
This bordermonument is situated between the two small villages "Opmeer" and "Hoogwoud" in the Netherlands.
Strange: I didn't notice this before... the names on the bordermonument do not tell you which village you are entering, but the village which you are leaving....

Just noticed how close these co-ordinates are to being prime or just degrees. Maybe thats how they decided the border of my state of New York and Pennsylvania? The pictures show both the NY and PA sides of the monument and show that we do indeed get plenty of snow here. Elevation 2044 feet. I wouldn't have known about this border marker if there wasn't a geocache just a few feet away. Farming country to the north and oilwells to the south. Alfred University located half hour or so to the north.
We don't have 'States' in the UK, the country is divided up into 'Counties'.
This is the border between Yorkshire, the largest County in England, and Durham, whose Bishops were formerly great landowners and lawmakers, almost as powerful as the King.
For many hundreds of years, the boundary ran along the River Tees, where there is an ancient stone bridge, but in 1974 it was moved about 1 mile south, and now runs through the middle of a field!
There is a small marker stone hidden in the grass, but it has now been replaced by large name boards.

This border monument is located at Woburn, Quebec, Canada and Coburn Gore, Maine, USA. (N45 22.717 W70 48.476)
This sign is located east of Rockwall, TX on SH205. It is the boundary marker between Rockwall County on the South and Collin County on the North. I guess because of the nature of the sign, the local law enforcement and immigration are not too concerned with discernment between the two counties. This boundary crosses Lake Lavon just a few hundred yards due west allowing the majority and the best parts of the lake to reside in Rockwall County. Interestingly, there is an entering Collin County sign just south of this sign about 15 feet into Rockwall County, which sign is correct?
This is the border monument between Mexico and Texas on Amistad damm just outside of Del Rio, Texas 78840.
This coordinates belong to the boundary limit between two villages in the province of Toledo (Spain): Polán and Guadamur. There are a lot of prismatic stones like this indicating the administrative limits in the area. However, there are also stones in the same way which not indicate boundaries of villages, but of private properties. You can differenciate it with a good map. This stones stay at least since 1850.
This was dumb luck coming across this NC/VA state line border monument from 1887. I recalled seeing something about a locationless cache for something like it so we just took some photos and gathered the details. It is on the border of Suffolk, VA and Gates County, NC. VERY COOL!
DESCRIBED BY LAND SURV OF OH 1993 THE STATION IS AN OHIO-MICHIGAN BOUNDARY MARKER, SET IN 1915. This spot markes the boundary between the United States and the Republic of Texas in 1841. Leaving Logansport, Louisiana on Hwy 764 and look on the right.
Tricky one to get to...very busy, narrow road. This monument marks the border of Washington and Allegheny Counties in SW PA.
(#0206) This is a monument that marks the town line between Rockport and Gloucester, Massachusetts. Rockport once had a thriving granite quarrying industry; perhaps this monument is made from Rockport granite. There is a date (1840) on another side of the monument, but I did not get a photo of it.
Out caching on a warm November afternoon and decided to log this border monument as we came upon it. It is the state line monument between Minnesota and South Dakota.

This monument is on the border between two counties in northern Norway. “Amt†is an old word for “fylke†that means county. The names of the counties today are “Troms fylke†and “Nordland fylkeâ€. This stone is close to King Olavs road (Kong Olavs vei) that starts on the border between Norway and Sweden, and continues to Lofoten. The airport Evenes is close by.
Found this one at Vilar Formoso, one actual frontier point between Portugal and Spain. You can see the portuguese symbol on one side.

I found this State Line marker up in the very NE corner of Vermont at the Border between Canaan, Vermont & Pittsburg, New Hampshire.
You will see this monument, if you do the Schnaakeloch (GCJ2JN) Cache.
It divides H.N. (Herzogtum [Duchy of] Nassau) and S.F. (Stadt [City of] Frankfurt).
The stone was placed in 1803, when Schwanheim (nowadays a part of Frankfurt) was incorporated into Nassau.
Now this is not a real border, because both sides of the stone belong to Frankfurt.

This stone marks the border between "concelhos". In this case Amadora and Sintra. If I read correctly there is a date in the stone: 1631.
Amadora, Lisboa, Portugal

This 1813 border monument separated (at the time) North Carolina and South Carolina. It was one of the last areas of the border to be marked due to some uncertainty in the location of the Salisbury Road.

The US/Canadian Border Crossing on Route 3, Pittsburg, NH. Canadian Customs is just ahead. US Customs is directly across the road to the left. These miniature Washington Monument markers are all along the boundary swath.
This point is one of the most wellknown places in the Netherlands, N 50° 45.258 E 6° 01.256, Drielandenpunt Vaals. At this point the borders of Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands are coming together.
A border, easy to pass now, but it was not possible 16 years ago. It was the border between the GDR and the FRG.
This nice monument remembers to that dark borderline.

Finally made it in to grab this Locationless Cache.
I have been trying since last year to get to one of 9 of these within my area that is off the beaten path. And every time the trail I needed to use was always closed to vehicles due to poor conditions. Well, not so today!
We took the Rubicon in right up beside this Marker on the border between Canada and the US. What better day can you have than to Geocache and Jeep at the same time?!! It was about 25 yards into the bush off our trail and on the Int'l Boundary cutline. Rough going that last bit as we drove right up to no man's land and turned around real quick before the trees reported us for an attempted illegal crossing.
Took pics but with the old non-digital camera So, will post them at a later date.
A great day out and a very cool Cache to find in the middle of wilderness along the Manitoba - North Dakota border lands.

Found this boarder sign returning home to Michigan from a sunny fall weekend at Cranberry Fest in Eagle River, Wisconsin. The sign is just past Land O'Lakes, WI. and Watersmeet, MI is just a few miles north of this sign.
This is the border monument between the Czech republic and Germany. I found this monument near border crossing Saint Cross.
As the border between The Netherlands and Belgium is a very open one, we were easily able to walk and take pictures in both countries. The pictures were taken in the province of Brabant. This province was devided in a belgian part and a dutch part since the Dutch Republic was devided in 1830.
This is located along the Black Snake Hiking Trail in Allegany State Park which is owned by New York State Office of Parks. This Border Monument shows both PA and the NY Border.

This marker is found at the San Ysidro Port of Entry. It is the border crossing that separates Tijuana, Mexico from San Diego, California(US). San Ysidro is the busiest land border crossing in the world with 72 million people crossing each year. It was highlighted in the movie "Traffic" and on the television show "The Shield" (2004).

OK, not your most-impressive border, but, hey: three states come together on this rock! This is also benchmark LY2604 (NAD83), at the meeting of NJ, NY, and PA.
Found this Berlin Wall relict near GCM43E on military ground in Wesendorf, Germany. Once it has been near Potsdamer Platz and separated West Berlin from the eastern part of the city in the former GDR.
