What a lovely walk to GZ.. some amazing trees here!Enjoying two weeks on Norfolk Island. Beautiful place, thank you drawp for placing this game piece here, showcasing this lovely area and contributing to this great game for myself and others to enjoy. Happy trails!
Well that was an adventure. From an incorrect answer on the checksum, to looking at the maps on the phone, it didn't make sense. It was a Whiskey Tango Foxtrot moment. Then I remembered seeing the entrance to the NP from this mornings drive, and the fact there were no caches in that area, which seemed odd. Took the chance and made the trek. Yep, close, but wrong giant. Found eventually. CheersBundy
We spent a fun and productive week geocaching on Norfolk Island, as well as seeing the spectacular views. We also did several tours and other activities on offer, which highlighted different aspects of the island life and history. Thanks for this cache.
Found it with goingplaces2 & ilook4geo while on a 7 day epic trip with 33 other caches exploring this beautiful Island. Thanks to the CO for the cache.
Once the new numbers were in hand it was an easy find at GZ. Thank you to drawp for placing this cache, which was found during our geocaching week on Norfolk Island.
Another cool NI cache. Plenty of spots and history here.Local cache group very active and clever. Thanks drawp
Found with Ris768 while travelling on Norfolk Island TFTCLog 3323Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache drawp
Found with MummyPenny after a bit of research. Enjoying the connections of caches and cultures here. Thanks drawp.
We sorted out the Quintals, Nobbs and Snells to get to GZ. Loved the Hint.?? An FP from me. ?? TFTC drawp
#7588 NI Day 4With no organised events until late this afternoon, we headed out after breakfast to focus on the north eastern part of the island. Enjoyed driving into the sub-tropical rainforest taking it nice and slow as these hire cars don't have much clearance. Circled a few specimens until we picked the right one.TFTC drawp
Found with a group of 8 cachers, and signed log as G8.Thanks for setting up the cache and bringing us here. Tftc 4Rods.
My buddies: bella at waggyNorfolk is gorgeous! This cache was hidden in a gorgeous tree add well. We had a nudge from previous finders on the gz coords.Thank you Norfolk Island Visitors, for creating, placing and maintaining this cache. I have enjoyed finding it and visiting this spot.Follow my story on Instagram @AlphaDeltaIndigo
A new day and ADI and I decided to head to Bird Rock. We came in via the south so passed the final of this one along the way. Some interesting history and certainly some big old trees in this subtropical forest. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC
OCW frazerdaze. After cleaning our shoes we soon spotted a huge tree and had CIH. Cache all good. SLRC as found. TFTC.
Found with oldmorty.Had a fight on our hands as our phone wanted to take us in one direction and we wanted to go another.Turned off the phone and followed the map. Thanks to the CO for the cache.
Having retrieved the info over the last few days, I was now in the area, the rain had stopped and I found myself in a beautiful forest. Wow, the trees are amazing. No problems with the cache at GZ.
Day 5 of my Norfolk Island adventure. I can understand why people want to live here . Its a little bit of paradise. Wow so much history on the island, Im enjoying my wandering seeing the sites . Some logs signed as N2OThis is my 12106find.Thankyou drawp for placing and maintaining this cache
Had made a mistake yesterday when trying to do this one. The calculated GZ did not make sense, and, also, neither did the check sum.Today we double checked the information on the first WP, and then realised what the error was.Corrected the error, and off to find the cache.
My first find today before a walk in the national park. 9 trips to Norfolk I've now done and I aspire to remain the island's top cache finder. TFTC
T-Tech and I are visiting Norfolk Island for our 40th anniversary. We arrived from Brisbane and are staying for 2 weeks at Endeavour Lodge, and plan to get some R&R, see all of the sites, learn the history, and gather every cache here so we can claim the Se Dun Challenge This afternoon we took the walk to Bird Rock and Captain Cook's Monument. We parked at the car park at McLachlans Lane, headed north on Red Road Track, then Bridle Track to the Monument. On the return we detoured along Red Stone Link Track to Bird Rock, then up Bird Rock Track and Bridle Track and Red Road Track back to the car. All up about 3 hours 40 minutes, and gaining 5 smileys [^]We enjoyed both WPs and kept the finals for today. A simple find on our long walk. TFTC, drawp.
Over with IolantheK from Brisbane celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary [^]Out for another day of caching up the north side of the island this time.Had some caches to collect around this area but Captain Cook Rd was closed for road works. That meant that we had to approach this one from other end via Red Rd and the Bridle Track. Not to worry we still had GEO business to do at the Captain Cook Monument and back here at Bird Rock, so off we set.Had collected the info from various locations, crunched the numbers and plotted the final [^]Finding the container at GZ proved to be quite easy in the end We enjoyed the walk in and the lovely scenic views TFTC Norfolk Island Visitors

Find # 10479Day 4 in Norfolk, here for a week of caching fun with geofriends Joolay, barb2e, StrangeTrousers, and iPlod. Zoom zoom zooming around in Kermit (green not red) ?? Logging as DEMCBR.Wild and wooly weather here again today ?????????This was a quick and easy find and ?? here at Heros & Settlers today. ??Thanks so much for the many caches drawp and of course for giving me a reason and incentive to get out here, and to experience this part of the world in a different light ????
This was quite a tricky multi and we had to revisit a number of times before we worked it out. Very nice spot. How exciting to be at Norfolk finally. This has been the plan for so long. Lovely to be here with Contesta, barb2e, Strangetrousers and IPlod65, signing as DEM CBRThanks for getting me out and about drawp
# 8978 Norfolk Day 4, team "Dem CBR" myself, iPlod65, Joolay, barb2e and contesta had another fantastic day of caching and exploration. Another day of hard climbs starting with a trip to Bird Rock. It's a steep walk down there and even harder back up. The rewards were there withe great views and some whales to watch. Then we headed over to Cascade Bay to grab the caches over there. It's a rough path to cascades along the cliffs but well worth the trip. Logs signed collectively "Dem CBR", which in local parlance is "them from Canberra".Thanks drawp for the Multi-cache
On holiday in Norfolk Island with StrangeTrousers. Beautiful Island. TFTC signed as DEM CBR
Most certainly a multi I wish I had chased the answers for earlier in the week, when Mrs Gunnie and I were within 3m of GZ... Grr...
Back in a familiar location, I took a short stroll from the car and zeroed in on GZ, where the container was located after a very brief search. I signed the log, returned the cache as found and as I returned to the real world, I was met by a female walker who had clearly got so hot she removed her shirt. I'm not sure who was more surprised and/or embarrassed by the encounter, although I would suggest it was probably me as she never scrambled to cover up.
Caching, always an adventure...
Cheers Norfolk Island Visitors.

As we took a walk in from the cow grid toward GZ I had to wonder whether we had the right coordinates for this multi. Was expecting to end up at another plaque of some sort. There wasn’t a memorial and the cache was found at the calculated coordinates. A very pretty area. Thank you for bringing us here.TFTC
National parks opened this morning so it was an early visit before having to return car back and go to airport. So happy to be able to collect it. All good here tftc
Bugger, got the coords and went to find it but National park closed to vehicles and pedestrians after the cyclone. Not to worry thanks for showing us around the hero's and settlers.
Drove to the two locations and gathered the necessary numbers. Then the question was where is it in relation to roads. I am spoilt at home with good mapping on the garmin but at a loss on N.I. with only a pdf paper copy of a 1/100000 topo map. Mrs George delved into memory banks and made a suggestion which turned out to be correct so we parked the car and walked to gz where she found the cache for me. And replaced it after I had written my name. Tftc.
This one took us on a bit of a journey over a couple of days. But we managed to find it despite being at a check sum of 19
Solved this last week but had time today to get it. Thanks for this mystery cache.
Yesterday we got the information required, now time to go and find the cache, showers had started we parked and walked to the cache. When the GPS settled down, Wazza9 made the find, stamped log and replaced. Thanks to CO.
TFTC,
Another great Multi that has shared so much history with us.
What an amazing walk at the end to locate the cache. GPS had a few problems but eventually took us to GZ.

Having at last rectified my error I was able to pinpoint GZ which gave me yet another reason to walk the Bridle Track. I parked the car at 6:30 and was really glad that I had set out as early as I did as I was soon feeling quite hot.
This gave me a nice break as I started to trudge up the hill. It was a quick find and sign. I left a pathtag before replacing the cache where I had found it. TFTC Norfolk Island visitors SL

On 15 October 2022 a new batch of prisoners were shipped out of Brisbane to spend 7 days incarcerated on Norfolk Island. It has now been 5 nights and countless days into their sentence at Ocean Breeze Cottages.
Yesterday the prisoner was granted solo release privileges and used the day wisely to gather extensive information on possible escape routes on the Island. The time also enabled the prisoner to gather intelligence about all the remaining treasure chests which remained on the Island. It now seems possible that the prisoner could gather enough of these treasures to gain access to the legendary Se Dun.
Seeking out this cache introduced the prisoner to many of the heros and settlers on NI. However the prisoner seems to be unable to count and had to revisit one place a second time, actually make it both places a second time.
Arriving at the treasure chest the prisoner encountered technical problems. The unthinkable geocacher excuse of "no pen". The prisoner however did find a small twig and made a small red "R" mark using the nearby red wet soil.

TFTC Thank you for hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity. Thank you for settling up this multi
Time to head to Norfolk Island to celabrate our 70th birthdays. When we were here before we were not geocachers, this visit will be spent gathering geocaches and revisiting our favourite places. Our appologies for the generic logs it does not take away the enjoyment we have found in the fantastic places they have been placed and all the different styles of caches that we are enjoying,

Thought we'd do this multi in Kingston, but should have done some pre-reading . We collected the town details last night, then saw the final was in an area we'd visited the day before

TFTC Logging today but found when on holidays, signed log on 18/6/22. Enjoyed the puzzle.
After breakfast, Mum and Oliver dropped us at the carpark here so they could go swimming and shopping while we had a nice walk through the National Park grabbing 5 caches throughout the period of our walk. Really nice area to hike and get some caches in the process!
Once we got within GZ, we spotted the giant whose roots the cache was hidden amongst. Did a lap of the monstrous tree before grabbing a little piece of wood which revealed the cache in its nice little hidey hole.

While my wife and youngest were swimming, Samuel and I went bushwalking. We were going to leave it until the weekend, but didn't want to chance the rain - it even started to threaten again today as we drove up the mountain.
We gathered the info for this cache on our first outing, in case we would inadvertently wander past it on other travels.
No problems here today, the giant loomed ahead, and we had the nice dry logbook within the first lap, nicely double containered.... TFTC!

Over the last couple of days we’ve visited the WPs and collected our numbers for this cache.
This arvo we came to find it and we were thrilled to find the cache at this whopper of a tree. Fantastic.
Thank you for the cache. What a fun holiday we’re having.

Today was our first full day on NI with the weather overcast and only a few short showers. Due to the number of caches found, will do a generic log. Thank you to the CO's for placing these caches in the respective location. These caches brought us to many great views of this beautiful islands. TFTC
Spending the day caching around Norfolk Island between a few showers. We covered quite a bit of the island and traveled along many of the minor roads.
Thanks to the COs who have placed hides on the island as well as Endeavour3 who has many caches, as well as maintaining the caches of others.
Collected the info and made a fairly quick find at GZ.

Aquilus1 and myself were on a mission: Go to Norfolk Island and clear the place out in 48 hours! This we achieved as we arrived well prepared, having ground out the puzzles (some with assistance) so that we had coords for nearly all hides before leaving Australia.
Brain tickler test & vaccination certificates in hand, we were shocked on arrival that our Australian mobiles had no roaming coverage....NONE! But, thankfully it seems most accommodation not only comes with a car, but comes with a phone as well.
I swear we did at least 5 laps of the island, I knew my way around very well by the end. NI is such a beautiful place, I am coming back with the family in a month and I already know exactly where I will take them.
On our first day we hosted an event and thankfully the local legend cacher, endeavour3, graced us with his presence. Some sage advice on the trickiest of NI hides was gladly received
And, it has to be said......OMG THE HUMIDITY!!! Canberra has none at all, it was a major shock to the system!

What a tree!! The mushrooms growing from the other side matched the tree size as well.

Cool track to the cache and an awesome giant the cache is at!
Trip log: Norfolk Island... Not something we had been planning to do but with GreyHams noticing travel here was starting up again, a good deal on flights and that this would count as a new caching 'country' this was indeed a very tempting location to visit.
Puzzles were solved, our double vaccinations certificates ready to go. A last minute change in the entry requirements added our PCR tests... but we arrived.
We had a challenge to collect as many of the caches as we could in the 48 hours we would be on the Island... A caching trip, but one that guided us around into every hidden gem the Island had to offer. All its beauty, history, scenic and quirky... and moisture! Humidity that sucked the energy out of every pore as we sweated our way about, but it was awesome!
An event the first evening was fantastic to meet with endeavour3, a wealth of local knowledge and assistance... both caching and the local area. It was great to confirm details, amend as needed and with a few DNFs help us back on track.
An honourable mention to the cows, especially the one that licked all over the car, the feral chickens (but not the roosters that wake up far to early and noisily) and the very friendly waving people everywhere we went!
Thanks for your cache that helped guide us about, and can all the caches be found within 48 hours... I'm very pleased to say that yes we could!
