Found on November 7, 2005 during a shore excursion to Merida, Mexico.

These are the doors at the entrance of the Governor's Palace.

Merida is the capital city of the state of Yucatan. Known as "White City" because of the large use of white limestone and white paint this traditional city depicts much of the splendor of Colonial Mexico. The Governor's Palace houses 27 wall size murals illustrating the somewhat violent bloody history of the Yucatan. The artist spent his entire life working on these paintings.

These carved doors are at the front entrance of the Cathedral of Christ the King church in Hamilton, Ontario. It's hard to tell by the photos, but there are also words carved into each door.

My thanks to Wanderings' StuOfDoom site for bringing these to my attention. I knew about this place, and hoped to log it as a LC for the pyramid-shaped buildings, but someone beat me to it. But the doors are a FTF so to speak (or at least a first to log).
The building is (was?) The Temple of Hope and Knowledge. It is currently abandoned. More about it can be found by Googling the web.

Found in Salzburg near the above coords. I am afraid I could not be more precise as it is right at the base of the mountain, close to the entrance to the lift for the Museum of Modern Art, and even though I tried several times I could not get a more accurate reading as I was losing GPS coverage as I approached the doors. The building, which now appears to be a bar is on the corner of the Museumplatz.
Thanks for the cache it has been fun keeping my eyes open for carved doors, and I suspect I shall not stop looking even though I have found some!

This, in my opinion, is a magnificent example of a carved door. So much so, that it's placed inside a national art gallery! You will find this door inside the South African National Art Gallery in Cape Town, South Africa. The door and frame was carved by Herbert Vladimir Meyerowitz. The carving depicts the wanderings of Jews through many lands.

We have been searching for a carved door and came up with this old door in the old part of town. It is not only carved, but also has tinwork on it. A nice doorway.

After posting the picture, I see that the best part of the door is in the shadow. It is carved like an old mantle, heavy scrollwork. You can see some minor scroll work on the main part of the door. The upper part is quite stunning.

Cool Found these carved doors at one of my favorite restaurants in the San Antonio, TX area. La Hacienda on Redland Road was built in the image of a Mexican hacienda. According to the owners, the doors were originally located on a hacienda in the Mexican interior and brought to Texas along with a good portion of the interior decorations.

Found while on a Edmonton caching trip with XRN95. We were on a tour of the Legislative Building ( looking for a benchmark ... shhh! ) and the tour guide stopped by this door. I blinked a coupla times ... "Hand-carved door!"

I couldn't get a signal since it was indoors so will post the set of coordinates that are for the benchmark ... which we couldn't find, Sad - it was nearby but up one floor, where the tour didn't take us, rrrr! [:(!]
