16 November 2024 11:15 dalerious and I were heading to Pentridge precinct to have a walk around and undertake the awesome GJMMelb caches there, but before doing that we decided to do this one first, as the starting coordinates were cloce and handy to the carpark, where we were so lucky to get a perfect car parking spot.It was going to be hot, and parking was a premium, especially today as there was a market on.We got to a nice park and found the required information to get us to gz.Well, that is what we thought. There happens to be two plaques on one of the structures, and serves us right for not looking in the first place, because our coordinates put us over 300 meters away on someone's nature strip. All good in the end, the short walk was made and the cache was found tucked away, safe and sound. Now, off to Pentridge we go before the heat really hits.Thank you barista86 for a super coffee, whoops, cache .
16 November 2024 11:35amFound with catnap777 in a pleasant park before a bite to eat enjoying a picnic lunch in front of the pool. What should have been a straight forward little multi had us scratching our heads in disbelief. It was all due to a simple grammatical misread. [B)] We thought we had found the date (on the plaque) on the white fountain. Once we found the white date on the white fountain, GZ suddenly became a whole lot more sensible. With cache in hand, we found room to add our names to the log, had lunch and headed for all the Bluestone College caches we had yet to find. TFTC barista86. [^]
A reasonably straightforward multi, and at GZ the cache was soon in hand thanks to the hint. The log could be replaced but is still doing OK.
All good here at gz after a scrounge around a familiar container found. Probably could use a fresh log though.Nice straightforward multi.Cheers
Out and about with My good caching mate Omegaman1971, there are always plenty of laughs while we are turning caches into smiles. This is one of the caches found today. Thanks barista86 for the cache.
Out once again with Rebel Acts putting some smiles on the map, always great to be on the geo hunt. This is one of the caches we successfully found today, Cheers for the cache.
Dropped in for a quick calculation and then find after presenting across the road at the City of Merribek. Thanks for the cache.
We found this cache today on a trip along Bell Street. A short multi and the cache was soon in hand and surprisingly, our first cache find in this park. Thanks from D & HA B-A
Being in ht earea for an event I found this cache. I had previously started this cache and today I was able to finish it off, having worked out my previous error. No problems today and the cache was soon found. Thanks barista86GJMMelb
A quick multi. Made short work of stage one, short hike to stage 2 and a quick find there as well.
Today work took me to the local leisure center, I also used to work here in years gone by. I arrived a little early so what does a good geocacher do? (Well not leave it to chance there is a cache but plan in advance to collect the happy face) well I guess I am not a good geocacher, just a grateful one. I walk to the poster coords collected what I needed, sat in the park doing the maths and off to GZ with no fuss. Well thought out and camouflaged multi worth a favorite from me.
TBS had said next time youre in the area you must do this multi so the following week when I was back in the area for my daughters soccer training I thought, why not have a crack. It was a fun multi and I found it relatively easy. There were muggles at every point and especially at gz but that didnt stop me. Cache found, log signed and back to its hidey hole it goesTFTC
In Coburg for D's soccer training. Had a bit of spare time after completing some work. Gathered the required info quickly, did the sums and made the short walk to GZ for a quick find. Nice multi, nice hide TFTC
Both micaparamedic and l had this multi cache on our list to find following the nearby Cito. With calculations done, we headed to GZ where a systematic search was conducted using a natural Tott. I soon spotted a familiar item and the cache.
After the nearby CITO this morning, I headed here with Tiz13 to see if we could find this cache.I collected the required numbers and the math was done and a solution was acquired. A short stroll to GZ soon had the cache in hand, Tiz13 came up with the goods. Thanks barista86 for placing this cache for our enjoyment.
Found today after lunch with a friend and a trip to the library. A straightforward cache was shortly in hand. TFTH Barista86
A nice easy multi on this windy spring day. Thank you barista86 for placing and maintaining Bridges Reserve for us to find today.
Lol, found it on the way out. You need to widen the search a little. Log too wet to sign.

An early morning sojourn to start the day, before picking up some bits and pieces needed at home... so a nice lap of the oval and surrounds from a parking spot at the southern end.
Details quickly gathered, I discovered I had to backtrack a little, but no matter; a few hundred extra steps wasn't gonna kill me.
Not too many interruptions while I looked on the most likely places, until... Aha!
Thanks, barista86. Now to complete the lap, pick up the shopping I've been sent to get, and get home in time to take one of the kids out.

Trying to up our multis this one stood out as it was close to LL's destination today.

Nice hide.
Thanks barista86 for placing and maintaining for all to enjoy. All good here

An excellent little multicache.
A quick find, thanks to accurate coordinates.
What better way to start the day than a walk around the oval before attending a nearby breakfast event and then a CITO at the lake.

After a breakfast event and a CITO here I am on a multi mission despite the mercury rising. I’m on a multi mission this month and the timing was just perfect for todays detour. I enjoyed the park and few remnant wild flowers. TFTC AND the fun
Wasn’t able to find this cache and despite checking my coordinates multiple times was led to a suburban street.
Thank you for bring us to this little cute place, the cache is a fun one. TFTC !
Funny how what we put in public spaces changes. In this park, about a hundred years ago it was a fountain. In 1971, it was the rock at the posted coords. And I’m guessing some time in the last 20 years, the pictured sculpture. I’m guessing, because I couldn’t spot a plaque to tell me who, what and when.
To the cache - the instructions were clear, and GZ a short walk away. At GZ I wasn’t sure which side of the path to search, but the side I was directed to was the right one. Thanks barista86 for bringing me here.

Having a lovely time out caching with echidna44 This brought me to an area I’ve not visited for longer than I car to admit. Many changes but a few familiar buildings still about The information was soon manipulated into a set of coordinates and the cache was soon signed TFTC barista86
Out with au.fait, we collected the information and did the maths, then off to GZ to find the well hidden cache. A great little multi, thanks barista86.
I was pretty happy with the park I snagged. I got the info, crunched the numbers and I was soon on my way to GZ. With no-one around I soon found the well concealed cache. I am trying to increase my multi count so this was very welcome! Thanks for placing the cache barista86.
Suscoe was in Melbourne today for family business.
It was a delightful day with sun and some cloud and a mild temperature.
Autumn days are the best when they are like this one.
Thanks to barista86 for this multi, we enjoyed the info gathering and the trip to GZ.
Some memories came back as we worked our way to GZ from a long time ago on the TV of this area.

Mrs frilk and I had a couple of hours to while away whilst waiting in the area so we went for a walk to complete this multi. A pleasant meander. TFTC.
Parked up the GeoGertie, and made our way over to posted coords. I thought this reserve was going to be full of bridges, until I read the description.
Gathered the required information, did the quick calculations, and headed to gz, where we made a quick find.
Thanks for bringing us here today by placing this cache, barista86

Funny what you expect when reading a name. We found the information needed and made a quick find at GZ. Thanks for the cache.
It took me longer as I first went to the wrong side. But I managed to find it with a bit of searching. Lovely park!
A short walk through this park that I’ve driven past many times but never needed to stop, today I had a reason

We should have been able to log this one last night except Mrs Riddell transcribed a number incorrectly. As there is also another year date on the fountain we tried that one also. That also gave us figures outside the park.
Uncannily enough these figures gave us a credible location except outside of the park.
We were too tired last night at the prospect of walking around for nothing, we decided to leave it until today.
There was nothing at the “ credible location” so back to the fountain and rock plaques.
Redid the figures while Mr Riddell PAF to check our figures… sure as eggs Mrs Riddell found the error the same time that PAF confirmed them.
Ah! A nice quick find and we can put this one to bed.
TFTC and bringing us to this lovely location which holds many memories for Mrs Riddell as she grew up in Coburg. The Town Hall, Early childhood immunisations, and library location are all too familiar, as is the oval to the south of the park was training for Womens athletics.
The overgrown block next door, laying empty for too many years was the former Coburg High School.

Crossed over to this side of town to pickup a new bike rack for my new geoEbikes and what the hell, lets grab a couple of geocaches whilst I here
Quickly solved the GZ coordinates but had to venture over to the prize in the drizzle which started at the rock
A quick find and signed the log before some more wandering back to the car in the drizzle. Cache is in good condition.
**Thanks for placing this cache barista86**

I wanted to remind myself of how woeful the travel time is between south and north so I decided to pop up to Coburg to find a metro multi. It takes about the same amount of time to travel half the distance if going west to east.
At any rate, the multi worked perfectly and the cache was found in the second place I looked which is a good thing given the somewhat exposed nature of GZ.

Today I covered quite a bit of ground. Reservoir, Fawkner and then back to Coburg to do this uncomplicated multi. The numbers were found and the computations done. GZ was a short walk away and the cache was found quickly and easily.
Visited this one on the day it was released but couldn't sort the numbers. Tried a few possible solutions but couldn't make this one work.
Came back past today with the adjusted figures and gave it another go and this time made the find quite quickly. I actually ended up reasonably close the first time in the end but not quite close enough. Thanks for the cache barista86.

I need to double check my maths. I will reactivate this cache once I'm corrected my sums.

I had originally planned a slow morning today. I awoke and looked at my phone to see a list of FTF caches. Of course . I assumed they were all already gone but a quick check showed some were still in play. I thought I’d give a couple a go, with this being the last.
I parked nearby and gathered the first piece of information . All was going well, until step 2. I located two dates on the white fountain, so sat down on the nearby seat to work out which was more plausible. The first one resulted in negative numbers, so I moved on to the second date. Negative numbers again… hmmm what am I doing wrong. I double checked the fountain and checked my calcs again and again. Something definitely looks strange here.
With south coordinates unaffected i resorted to using my geosenses and worked with all of the information that was available in the cache to try and pinpoint likely locations. I took a stroll, and searched a number of places. Just as I was about to give up I stumbled on the cache. Much harder than I expect this I meant to be.
I received a couple of messages throughout the day from people who experienced the same negative number issue as me. Hopefully the CO is able to check this shortly as the multi appears unsolvable in its current form.
Thanks barista86 for the cache and for contributing to the game.
