After killing the app and restarting it - location had us right on top of it - and then - turned around and there it was!
Well it was over to Mr Fleabag- to navigate to this cache, as I had totally misguided us at the last troll type cache with a large side of bush bashing... this was a short walk in the very hot sun but I was searching in the totally wrong spot and glad that fleabag- was on to this one... we would have been very sunburnt with my ideas!thanks for sharing the little reserves
Currently trying to finish the year with a few finds to etch closer to my 11,111th cache.Out with KristysAdventures today with the sun shining down. This cache was a huff and puff up and then found in the first place I thought... but 3rd place I looked! Thanks to BernieH for the fun and the adventure.
In the area for some survey work, I got delayed by the client and decided to have some fun while waiting.Got lucky and found 4!
Found it. Heard some kid making ambulance noises as I was trying to find it which made me laugh. A very clever spot
Found with icw in this park with an intriguing name. Hedwig Bleibtreu was an esteemed Austrian actress in the first part of the 20th century. She played in a broad spectrum of stage roles and received many awards for her acting in Austria and Germany. Near the end of her career she appeared in the B&W film 'The Third Man' (1949) with Orson Welles, Alida Valli and Joseph Cotten. She played the part of Anna's grumpy landlady in a wrecked, ornate room with strong 'film noir' lighting. Tftc!
TYFTC very cool hiding spot and my first micro that I liked!
Saw a clear geotrail that led me to the cache!
Loved the hike up and down the hill. Thank you Bernie

Licking my geo-wounds from a nearby BernieH hide, but emboldened by the find I ventured up the hill, squishing my way to the short summit. Rain is now streaming down and visibility is minimal. What's the hint - low.
Ok, dive into the vegetation hoping for some protection from the elements. I see an old couch and a fold out chair, no doubt frequented by the local youth on a Friday night. But this is a winter Wednesday afternoon and there is no one here but me. Of course, who else would venture out into this miserable weather. Geocachers are a hardy bunch.
I knew what I was looking for. All it took was a systematic process of trial and elimination. Gotcha. Protect the log under the jumper so it doesn't get wet and sign. Done. Now I passed through the gate further up the hill for a look-see at the view, but it was pouring and nothing to see. Great area though. I will return on a better day for a picnic.
Thanks BernieH for another great hide. I had your number today.

Good news was that today was another Friyay (my work gives me the last Friday afternoon of every month off thus the 'yay' part) so a perfect opportunity to work on completing the hard souvenir for the favourite fan challenge for this month.
I started of trekking around Warrandyte hills gold country and then headed over to Croydon for some less strenuous finds.
There were some maintenance workers at the nearby playground but I was way out of view by the time I went around the corner. Nice quick find once I arrived.
Thanks BernieH for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

I heard the sound of chainsaws as I approached GZ. I hope they are not pruning the cache, I thought. Fortunately all was well and I found the cache waiting for me to sign the log.
Geoboy introduced a friend to geocaching. This is near to one of my friends. He made a quick find. Thanks for the cache.
We had been leaving the caches close to home for GT as she was attempting her 365 day streak. She is so far behind in logging that she has no idea if she has made it or not so still being careful although it is getting harder. This is a substantial area and has quite a decent view, especially from next door. Thanks for placing the cache for us to find.
It was surprising how great the view was from up here. The gate was open so we took a bit of a look from next door. Lovely area to build a house. Shame it isn't utilised better as I don't know if many people would be aware of this location. Thanks for the cache.
We had previously looked for this cache without luck. As I recall we spent some conducting a fruitless search. Today we are back again and the GPSr device is pointing to a different location for GZ and the cache was found within seconds! Hmm … what happened last time? Thanks to BernieH for the cache.
Back today for another look for this one since it got replaced recently. Last time I was here, the grass was knee high and I was hesitant to come back on such a warm day. Thankfully, it has been mowed recently which made for a carefree stroll up to gz. I noted the coordinates had changed, so made my way to the new location, although that had me nearer to the fence. Went back to the original coordinates for another look and spotted the hide from a different angle.
Thanks for bringing me here by placing this cache, BernieH

Well thats the most atrocious log I've signed. Geopup was on a smell run today and not happy to check out GZ for long enough to sign nicely. Found on this day blessed with our beautiful weather Nice quick hide tftc.
Container replaced, not sure how muggles find these things sometimes

I need to look into this one and so I’m disabling it until I return from holidays.
Back in mid September.
Back in mid September.
after scouring the trees at GZ for over 30minutes , I thought , its time to move on . Will hopefully be back to try again .
We had a day to cache around Melbourne today. The weather was perfect for caching, nice and warm with no rain. We decided to selectively cache pick up Virtual caches, older caches, and other caches that will help us complete challenge caches and visit a couple of cemeteries for a Whereigo cache. We had stayed overnight at Mrs Dromaniax's mum's house, and this was a close cache. As we rounded the corner of the park towards the cache, we had a laugh about the hint. We must have approached the cache from the correct direction as we saw it several meters away. The cache is in excellent condition. Thank you for this cache BernieH
My last cache while in this area this afternoon. Thanks BernieH for bringing me here.
Accompanied with silence49, we had a great time finding your cache BernieH, thank you so much for placing it.
really enjoyed this one! very tricky but a fun find - forget to bring a pen
Out with xambo4u, we were going to have a short day, but we were having far too much success to stop.
A lovely area here, but we are now tiring in the heat, and this is our second last cache for the day. We have had great tour around the Croydon area. Thanks BernieH.

Thanks BernieH. I've been admiring some of your work 9ver the past few days and just realised I've been signing them off 2021. Giddy up
Out and about with echidna44 for what was to be a short day but we just kept going on. Up the hill, can we make it. Its all about the angle here but we soon had it in had. We had a couple of cute little pooches keeping us company on the way back. Thanks for all your caches today BernieH.
Found 8:54 am
Another park never visited until now, the name remins me of Harry Potter somehow. There is 180deg view not far from GZ which wasn't interesting to check out. A quick find and the cache container properly screw on now.

I took a different route to GZ than GJMMelb and there's was clearly the better option. The search area was soon located but our GPSes were all dancing around so we each followed our own "dance" hoping to find the cache first. The indicated location was pretty consistent though, so we knew were close - but was it there or over there, with multiple possibilities in each?... Eventually I found it, in a place I thought G or J would have already been but maybe I was just a bit lucky. Logged, and replaced while so muggle dogs came to say hello, back to the cars and off to the next one. TFTC BernieH
We arranged to meet up with quiet1_au to find your new caches. This one was second and quite an interesting park, with a good walk up the hill. We looked around a bit with the GPS swinging back and forth between the trees and the fence. q1 looked at the hint which gave us the area to concentrate on and then located the cache. Meanwhile we had a visit from a few puppies who were having great fun chasing balls around the park and then wondering what we were up to lol

It was getting quite hot now 33 degrees .. not bad for the last day of November .. I am surprise at how many local parks there are in the area .. I looked around for a while, thankful that this one was in the shade .. it didn’t take long to find … just have to look from the right direction.. thanks BernieH for another geocache in a reasonably close area to home
Today I went out with Crustyvarmint for my first day of geocaching. It took a while to find this one but I had fun getting the hang of it despite my phone having me walking in circles. Thanks BernieH.
I found this cache today on my Monday Morning Croydon Cache Caper. I would never have known that there was a park here but for this cache. It took a bit to spot until I stood in the right place. Thanks from D B-A
Today I was out with Redcb, and Crusy K9, to enjoy the beautiful weather, and grab a few caches. Approaching GZ, the phone was giving us confusing directions, so we resorted to the hint, and reread the description. After some time searching, the tricky little fellow was discovered, just hanging around minding his own business.
Thanks for your work putting out these caches BernieH.

BernieH, you clearly had a busy lockdown!
We have seen these coming up all week, although this was the first real chance we had for an ftf.
We knew it would be tough, as there are so many ftfers in the area that are closer than us. That said, when they went off this morning, we thought we'd give it a shot as we are about 25 mins away. The kids were really keen and were dressed and in the car in under a minute. My wife joked that we should place a new cache outside their school every morning, given how quickly they were able to get ready on this occasion!
Originally we set off for Frog Park, but not long after we left that was gone, so we changed our coordinates to Hedwig Park.
As we approached, there was still no log. Surely this was too good to be true? Correct. As we pulled up, omegaman1971 was getting back in to his car. After a quick hello we went up to GZ where we met pnja, who had also just missed out.
We were happy all the same to claim third. It is always good to meet other cachers too. I see you found one of ours today too

2nd to find - having already beaten us to another cache, omegaman had just replaced the log and stepped out of the trees as we approached - ironically much the same as we soon did for veevers12. The FTF hunts are such a rollercoaster of emotions! Great to see some new faces around!
Now to scour the map for the last few parks in the area that probably have soon-to-be published BernieH caches…

Just sitting at home contemplating cutting the lawn, when some new local caches popped up on my notications.
BernieH has definitely been busy lately putting out a bunch of new finds, and due to work commitments I had missed any chance of a FTF last week.
But not today, I have actually set myself a challenge to get a 100 FTF'S.
Couldn't believe my luck today, already had two FTF and I was thinking that this one would be definitely gone, but on finding the cache the log was empty. Ironically I had expected to see the names pnja or heymissjo in the log with the FTF prize, but actually was joined by pnja has I was exiting the bush's
Cheers mate for the cache.
