Logs
Passing through the area from Aussie and saying Hello to my Dad and thought why not grab a cache. TfTC. Nice easy find
Found this a while back and it's on my list of caches to log. Can't remember the exact date, but TFTC!!!
We returned today to look for this one. Thank you to the person who replaced it. We head stories at a meet up of rummaging in the graveyard for the old one, thankfully that's not the case today! Kids had lots of questions about dead bodies after this one! Glad to turn a blue to a yellow on our map. TFTC and those who are keeping it maintained.
Nice nifty cache hide that only took around 30 seconds but gave us a satisfying find.
Found it. Please dont pull the tree apart to find it. In a pill box and if you move a hand size park its in there.
Replaced the obviously missing cache with a pill bottle with log strip in the top of the stump, thanks for bringing us here.
We found the new log left by the previous finder and put it in a bag to keep it dry. This one may need maintenance
#11148:Day 223. Today is our last day out in Auckland, as we need Thursday to pack before leaving the country on Friday. This was my final opportunity to find a cache within the Waitkere Ranges Local Board. We got a bus from the CBD, and headed into the Waikumete Cemetery. First we completed the Ad Lab, then continued onto some physical caches. At GZ it's very obvious the hint item has gone. It's sad to see such a huge tree cut down. I decided to replace the log akin to the hint in what remains of the tree. I hope this is okay with the CO. TFTC.
The tree looks fairly recently felled. We put our hands into all the places so.e of them a little nervous on what we might find! Any tips or perhaps from attached photos it might be gone with the tree? Will keep an eye on this one. TFTC
M25 & m14: starting out the day with a nice and easy find, approaching gz, it kinda seemed shady due to a certain rise of ground near a gravestone, but apart from that, all good and log signed. TFTC.
Wandering around the cemetery & diverted to get this one. Nice quick find just as it started to drizzle. TFTC
Circled around GZ in a gap in the rain and my eyes took me straight to where I thought it may be
A solo excursion for Mr Coblet.
I had the day off work and headed out here early to do a bit of geocaching.
In hindsight it was probably a bit too early as it was very cloudy which delayed the arrival of the morning light so I started off wandering around the cemetery in eerie darkness.
I arrived at GZ and thought I may need to use the torch on my phone but it was starting to get light and I saw a likely hiding spot where I was pleased to find the cache.
A nice cache to start on, thanks AJ_ Superstar for the placement.

TFTC. Out and about between rain falls.
Thanks for placing the cache for us to enjoy.

Loved the cache guardian. Short walk from the main road through the cemetery.
Thanks for the hude. Found while there is a gap in the rain.
Also Blue switch day, a big deal geocaching wise

Back up to Auckland with KGD and EyespyBen to get 2 souvenirs
Raining like mad all the way
Nice easy find thanks

There is so much to say about this cemetery. The information and standard of the War Cemetery and the contrast to this older part. Arrived at GZ to find that half the tree had fallen and had upset one of the locals. Cache though was still safe. Thank you for the placement
I went for a walk this afternoon and found a few caches along the way. This wasn't quick or easy but it's definitely there. I had to search quite intently to find this one. Finally spotted what I needed to see and was relieved to be able to walk away with a smiley instead of a frown. TFTC, Biggles.
Tricky find for our first time geocache everything still inside love the gecko
Out and about for a spot of geocaching this afternoon. The intention is to park up near the cemetery and get a good walk in and around the cemetery. Early in on my walk I coincidently bumped into macyc95. We decided to team up and walk together. Our last trad of the day before moving on to the nearby ad lab. This took a bit longer than it should have. We were a bit concerned by the recent chainsaw activity on the tree (two low branches removed) I'm that it may have compromised the hide. Turns out the cache was close to that activity, but was unharmed. I recovered with some natural camo before we left. Cheers for the exercise and the cache placement!
Topping off the trad finds with this one. The area is very peaceful, a lot less people. The tree has had a bit of surgery very recently, so climbing it was a bit sticky (and not useful). This one also had us a bit stumped, but lostcourse soon looked at the right angle, and the cache was found. A bit unnerving to see an entire concrete block lifted up by the pine tree! Let's hope they were six feet under. Nga mihi, TFTC
Out for some
Needed early morning exercise after a day laying down with a wog. Not even a nice one either.
TFTC
Looking forward to 2023. You might be surprised it could be as good as 2019 could have been. We all need to move on and embrace the number 42.

I had been out caching iin the rain all morning with Mrs Team Welsh, but wanted just one more find as I made my way back home. I recalled this cache In the forgotten Corner of Waikumete Cemetery that had been missing when we came to look for it earlier this year. With numerous finds since then I hoped for a quick find today, and was not disappointed. Nice to have turned that blue face into a smiley, thanks.
We needed to check on Mum's newly placed headstone in this cemetery, so while we were here we detoured to find this cache. A nice quick find of the cache at a level lower than we were expecting. TFTC
Last cache of the day. Not quite where I thought it would be but a good hide for this cache. Thanks
While I was in the Cemetery I decided to sign off the nearby trad.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
In here today on a mission. Lovely big ole pine tree standing all alone. Made quick work of the find of which is well hidden indeed. All quite and resting.
It may have been a while since someone’s looked for this one, as I see the last entry was April. Nowhere to be seen.
It was quite quiet here today (I'll refrain from using the obvious pun) so it was an easy find on this windy day. Thanks!
A quick find after work. Got a nice view of the Burger King across the street haha. Covered it with natural camouflage for the next person to find

Whilst in the area completing the Adventure Lab, we appreciated the chance to be taken to the forgotten corner to collect this cache. TFTC

Cool find, enjoying the old masonry work in the area. Appreciated the words on this one a lot. Added a pink flower to the cache. Thanks heaps!
#10,592. After an epic road trip driving around the length of Northland in the past two days attempting to find geotour caches I needed a more chilled out day with local caching only. Decided to do the Ad labs here at the cemetery and so stopped to find this one placed since my last visit. Wandered over to GZ and made a nice quick find. A very hot day so pleased to have some shade. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache where found. Thanks AJ_Superstar for hiding it here.
A nice quick find as I wandered the cemetery in the heat of the day, thanks.
Time for another trip to the North Island for Ms_KR and me. Wellington and beyond here we come. Today we toured around Auckland on another warm/hot summers day.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

No problems with the find here with Pazza while the hounds enjoyed their morning walk around the cemetery
No corner was forgotten or missed investigation from the 2 geohounds today. They discovered 2 possums in two other trees while we Merlot and a made our own find. Thanks for bringing us here!
Had to dodge the odd shower, and arrived at Gz. Nice hide, now off to get my coffee reward. Tftc
I was well and truly up and about when this cache popped out at 7am. But the big question would have been would I be home or well at work. Fortunately for me, I was about to leave for work and as luck would have it, I was heading past this cemetery rather onto the motorway which would have taken me in the other direction.
So put the cache on my watchlist, got ready for work in 5 mins and departed. I parked up on Glenview Rd, then it was just a short walk across the cemetery to GZ, Nice big tree here, and cache was in the first spot I checked. Was I to be first? Yep, sure was. So {FTF} for me this morning. It certainly is an old area of the cemetery here, there is a gravestone right at the tree roots, it has been lifted out of ground with the growing roots. Thank you AJ for the cache.

Of all the days when I'm walking right past here, it pops up, on the one day when I had a small job to do. I just hope that the people who come here take time to explore this older part of the cemetery, s its full of Auckland's history and so many interesting little snippets.
If its OK with the CO I might add a note to this page pointing out a few interesting sites in the area of the cache that future searchers might find interesting.. cheers V

I was awake when this popped up this morning....and very keen to get the fourth cache in West Auckland placed by Andre and AJ.
However I was busy minding grandchildren last night and all day till late this afternoon...
Then I came here as soon as I could ...
What a cool place!
I was glad the gates were closed....I was able to have a lovely walk here from Glenview Rd...admiring the wild flowers and sensing the peaceful ambience here...
Have often walked through the cemetery in the past with a Walking Group but maybe not this actual part....
Plus I once went on a very interesting historical tour of the graves and stories of the people buried here here once.
Favourite Point to you guys!
