GoodLook and I were in the USA from Australia with our primary purpose to attend the GPS Adventure Maze and GeoWoodstock XVII in Fort Worth Texas, but then our plans expanded....

Whilst in the US I attended the ASP Geobash Mega in NY State; visited family friends near Detroit; went on a long road trip where we checked out Death Valley in California, and unique sights in Nevada, Arizona, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Texas to name just a few of the states.

The scenery, towns and adventures were both interesting and varied. It was great catching up with US and Canadian friends (new and old), and making plans for future trips.

We certainly targeted virtuals, earth caches, Adventure Labs, events and several trails. Your virtual being one on our 'must do list'.

The Frenchies are on vacation in Las Vegas and take the opportunity to make many caches in the area, we discover the American West (Death Valley, Grand Canyon and so on…) and more especially the city of Las Vegas through all hidden caches in the sector, the weather is perfect and finally we'll find all caches.

Thank you to all the owners of these discoveries and all boxes that allowed us to visit a small part of the United States.

We drop some travel bugs off on some caches and we give some favorite points for the most surprising geocaches or most successful.

Working your way around the City without a SatNav is hard work for an out of towner. But I managed to find myself here without too much heartache. You've gotta love a nice square street layout... [^]

At GZ, I followed one of the signs and tried to liasten in to the air traffic chat. That was a miserable fail and all I got was static... So, I figured I would do what I needed to for the cache and move on.

This is a very busy airport and you don't appreciate how much movement is going on until you see it on the tarmac.

A nice spot to visit and watch for a while.

Okay I am officially nuts, I admit it. I had a layover in LV on my way to CA and had some time to kill. Fearful I might not find a physical cache, (I have to imagine in a high muggle place like LV caches go missing very easily) I got a cab and had the driver bring me to this virtual, then back to the airport, where I had to clear security again, but still had time for my flight. Thanks for having something there for me to pick up LV. Email sent.

We were targeting virtuals this trip, so decided I better check this one out as well. Might be my favorite virtual of the trip. What a cool area! TFTC

The trip ends here. The Furrballs and zacknmom spent an entire week doing the Rt 66 series, then heading up north to totally blow the lid of the ET hiway caches. Our last night in LV we picked up a few virtuals, then headed to the hotel for an early night before our VERY early flight back home.

Interesting area this is. Wish we could have spent a few minutes doing what people actually do here, but at this point we were fried. Thanks for the virtual cache! Answers on the way either by email or pony express, whichever method ends up being faster. }:)]

After nearly a week in Nevada and Utah, it was time to head for home, but we picked up a few more caches on our way out. We had not loaded any traditional caches in our PQ (although we did see a couple of them worth looking for on the Better Half's iPad), so after getting a virt on Tropicana, this was the next virtual to the south, so we spent about 20 minutes trying to figure out how to get here. Yeah, we know: follow the GPSr arrow. Tell that to the streets and freeway off-ramps Eventually we made it, and we spent 15-20 minutes here, enjoying the arrivals and departures. Definitely worth the stop and the time: thanks!

BTW: there is a similar place south of LAX, in El Segundo. While although not as close, it's on a hill, so you can still get some nice views. There are also a few free telescopes, and lots of room to set up tripods and cameras, with no restrictions other than not blocking the sidewalk.

My only questions about this spot are these: are humans "objects"? And what exactly does the title of this cache really mean?

El Nimrod, Nook&Crannie, and myself are three Canadians who teamed up from BC, & PEI. Answer sent in. Sad to be leaving cache land heaven. But we had a blast caching for two weeks in desert and some urban areas. Thank you so much for find # 6900!!!
