I wasn't keen to tangle with the spiky vines but I stomped them down and couldn't find anything
This is a very nice road leading to a nice area of the Boonah region. We searched with three people for 20 minutes, got pricked by the vines but the cache could not be found. Reading through the log entries gave us ideas where to look but still no luck here today. Sorry!!!
A tricky one with a fallen branch in the way and the nasty vines protecting the container.
Another part of the Boonah area I'd not visited before. Quickly found and then off to the next one. TFTC.
We were going to head to this one from the southern end of the road, however, when we saw the dirt there we realised we didn't have our four-wheel drive with us so we continued on and approached from the other direction and had tarmac all the way. Arriving near GZ Mrs. Herbz was about to send Mr Herbz up the bank on the wrong side the road, but Mr. Herbz looked around and spotted somewhere closer that looked likely and found the cache TFTC
Now that FTF has been claimed I'm logging as I was with CO when caches were placed in July. Another beautiful area of the Scenic Rim.
Born and bread in the Scenic Rim i have been watching with interest as this series has emerged. In fact on a couple of occasions I have been driving past on the publication day but had more pressing issues to address as I prepare the family farm at Moogerah for sale in the not to distant future.
With local knowledge come local stories at each location. Now this back road is one i have only more recently become familar with. On a could of occasions we have ridden through here as a loop ride from Moogerah, across to maroon and then back through Carneys Creek returning to Moogerah. A tough but thoroughly enjoyable ride.
Scenic Rim has so many gems, you just need to get out and experience them.

Out for a drive in the country and to find a few caches. The cache was quickly located and the log signed. TFTC
*FTF* First to Find at 17:52 hr.
Today, I joined Beardman75 and karicka to hike down to Gap Creek Falls in Main Range National Park. We completed the multi-cache and nearby geodes EarthCache, enjoying the scenic views of the falls and surrounds, and then strolling along the river. We returned back to the car park, and then I completed another hike up this time to Mount Cordeaux, Bare Rock and Morgan's walk. Despite the sunny afternoon, the walk beneath the forest canopy made it a rather enjoyable walk up to the ridge top. I made a final drive through Boonah, before driving back home for the day.
I continued the drive up north to this spot, only to grab this newly published cache, before making a U-turn and start to head home. I parked and started to look around the area, hoping that this cache would be a reasonably quick find. It took about five minutes before finding the right tree, and I must say that it didn't appear to be the best hiding place in amongst thorny ivy. Otherwise, the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Richmond Lad for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
