Found with weirdobiker on the way past heading to Melbourne. As we were heading past and weirdobiker was working on a streak, we had to stop and make the find. A little bit of toing and froing until we zeroed in on GZ, then a quick find. A little difficult getting the bag out of the cache, but I eventually persuaded it to come out. Signed and replaced as found. TFTC

We are not certain if our memories are accurate, but we seem to remember this area as being very overgrown and not inviting. Today was different. The area is now being well maintained. Accurate coordinates led to a quick find. Unfortunately the log was very wet and not usable, We have supplied a replacement log in a sealed plastic bag. Thanks BettyBoo3747 for the cache, one that gave us the opportunity to have a break as we head south.

Found while enjoying a day trip around the area. The sunshine is divine. Logbook is wet but was able to crudely etch my name on it. Many thanks BettyBoo3747 for providing this game piece for our enjoyment.Greetings from Tatura, Australia

Found by The Empire + HWe left Bright in the morning, the crisp mountain air still fresh as we set off on our drive back to Melbourne. The early light cast a soft glow over the landscape, highlighting the mist clinging to the hills and the dewy greenery along the roadside. The quiet streets of Bright slowly disappeared behind us as we made our way onto the winding roads leading out of the Alpine region. A quick find before jumping back onto the freeway. Thanks for the cache BettyBoo3747.-M

After an event in Rutherglen, we decided to make the most of the nice weather and head over to Wang to collect a few a few more kid friendly caches in town. Wang now has the majority of our unfound caches closest to home. A hidden little cemetery had no idea it was here. TFTC!

When I saw this one on the map, it conjured up an image of a cache that was in a similar location. As it turned it, it was the same location, the old cache having been archived. This one turned out to be an easier find and a much easier retrieval.

Thanks to BettyBoo3747 for the cache and a return visit.

Day 5 of the Rutherglen MEGA trip.
Out and about around town finding lots of caches.
After a couple of events and cache finds in Corowa this morning, it was then time to head back to camp to pack up my tent, once that was done, it was time to start heading towards home but not before finding a few more caches along the way.

**Thanks to BettyBoo3747 for placing this cache.**

Out caching with Agazo and Marchwood today, visiting the area for the Rutherglen mega. We started in Chiltern today to tidy up stuff we had started here a couple of days ago. Great to pick all the caches up, close by. Then we headed down to Wangaratta to pick up Ad labs and virtuals as well as any nearby trads or multis before heading to Rutherglen for BBQ lunch. Thanks to all the CO's for placing and maintaining

Got notified last week that the power was going out at the office which meant the server would not be available. Outcome would be a frustrating day with jo work done do I made the call and had a flex. Meant I had a day free so why not go caching. With all the love at Rutherglen lately poor old Wangaratta is not being visited much. Many caches today hadn’t been logged since January (which was a tad painful as many past logs were generic Megs ones). Original intention was to use the locationless cache to boost my best day to 8 (plus AdLabs) but the plan was foiled by flooding - didn’t realise how many caches would be inaccessible (too many to log). In the end I did end up at Rutherglen to get a few different types but will save the bonus cache for another day (no Earthcaches available to collect). However did find all 33 (plus 5 AdLab points) that I actually looked for – but a lot more I didn’t try as access was blocked by water.

After taking a wrong turn and ending up in Glenrowan again I ended up at this spot which was my real goal.
Been here before and signed the previous version - is a sad place but so worth flagging with a cache. Hopefully eventually someone does something. My phone did not want to play here so overshot the hide but soon had under control. Log has been damp but fine to sign.

We remember searching for a cache here many moons ago with Bushfire on our way to Porepunkah and having a devilish of a time finding the micro. The grass was unkempt back then also not to this extent though. Today we pulled off the highway to make a much quicker find in a better hiding location.
Thanks BettyBoo3747 for the placement.

Another interesting sounding cache that the wife and I stopped to check out on the way to Melbourne. Grass was long and yep, the area is certainly Forlorn and Forgotten....which is a really sad actually.

Thanks for the reason to stop and check the area out BettyBoo....

In the Wangaratta area for a few days caching with my very good caching mate from Bacchus Marsh 6Hinemoa2 and great caching friend from Adelaide and his mate the Blackadders.
Due to COVID lockdowns and other problems this trip has been postponed a number of times but we are finally going. Once in the area we put 3B6 or Bushfire in our logs to save space.
I am running late with my logs after finding so many in five full on caching days.
With so many caches found I have to use the cut and paste method as we found so many great caches from so many different cachers, so a big thank you to all those folk.
I have moved to Sydney for a few days so will log a few more.

Booking transferred to May 2022. Cool Yah - made it albeit a tad late. Cool

DAY 4: Off to do the Ned Kelly Helmet series. and anything else we may be passingRazz
The Fab Four of Bushfire, Blackadders, brisal5 and 6himemoa2 set off for a days of Geocaching adventures. Razz Plan A was to do NKH and then off towards Everton and Beechworth for some Randolph the Rats caches [^] So to save space in logs we signed BBB6 or 3B6 with a team stamp for the date or similar and unless there was something different or exciting happening these logs are all generic.

Wow- A cemetery [?] All we could see was long grass three foot high except for a geo-trail that led us to a likely GZ. Razz Encircling the GZ the group soon spotted the cache. Smile What I didn't spot was a headstone in all the grass! Twisted

***Thanks BettyBoo3747 for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Big Grin

06-May-22

Out on a caching adventure of 4 days with bushfire, Brisal 5 and Blackadder. We stayed nearby at Goorambat and travelled around from there. This had to be postponed a few times due to Covid.
Although Tag along and I have been to this area many times. We lived nearby when we were newly married. This was a new experience however, as I am a geocacher now.
Stopped here at this old cemetery and as the name of the cache suggests it is a sad little place. We signed in as 3Bs, Team 3B6 or used name stamps.
The sun shone us all day despite the weather prediction of rain and cold..
Thanks for the fun BettyBoo3747

06-May-22
Day 4of a trip to Victoria targeting around the Benalla area with Brisal5, Bushfire and 6hinemoa2. The forecast for the day was for showers however it ended up as a perfect day for caching.

A fun adventurous day including getting bogged on a back track that has been notorious for catching other cachers and the need to contact a nearby farmer who one again kindly towed us out of our predicament, something that he had done for many others in the past.

Our targets were many including some of the Randolph the Rat series and a few others nearby. It also included a high terrain tree climb that needed the Adder and the Starfish to engineer a longer TOTT to scale a tree while Bushfire and 6hinemoa2 watched on in awe.hoping that the extended legs would not collapse or slip.

Another target was the Ned kelly Helmet series which was completed.

All caches were visited handled and signed by the individual members of the group, as always there was no car hopping. This is how we play.

All caches were in good condition unless noted otherwise.

Another of the sadly forgotten locations where ancestors have been abandoned. Such a sad thing that families have been forgotten.

Thank you for the cache BettyBoo3747, found 6/05/2022, 4:35:10 PM

Canberra Day long weekend trip to Wangaratta. After spending the Mega weekend down at Wangaratta, there was so much more to do that a plan was hatched to visit again to do the Warbies Challenges and the Old Coach Road. A team of Joolay, Kitty Katch, FurfacesLL, Fitzy_1965 & MinnieK and I came together for this trip. Day 4. I have reached the last day of my March Wangaratta trip, and now the long hard days are over, I headed out to finish some of the caches around Wangaratta before heading down to the Winton Wetlands to do the Adventure Lab caches and as many others as possible now I have learnt how to get in. The day ended with the drive home, a fun blast up the highway with a bonus whereigo at the end.

Thanks for the cache BettyBoo3747

Well the Mega is done and dusted and what a fantastic weekend it was.
So thanks Wangaratta for putting on such a great Mega and to all of the organisers a job well done.
It is now time to head towards home and as they say there is always time for one but in my case maybe a few more as I follow the Highway south.
The last one in town before hitting the highway and I think that this cemetery is very long forgotten.
Very long grass and hardly any signs of any headstones and you would not know that this place was here except for the signature the gate.

Thanks BettyBoo3747 TFTC.

This one was little dissapointing.

Not for the cache but the condition of the cemetery.

It can't be too hard to cut grass here surely?

The cache was an easy find.

A nice quick find here today cache and contents are all good

After heading to tassie for almost 3 weeks, we detoured to Wangaratta for the Victorian Mega to catch up with some friends that we hadn’t seen for months if not years. We caught up with Freddo and e.gregory1 for the duration of the weekend, travelling around the local areas finding many of the caches that were on offer. To save room in the log books we signed as FEG or FEGC.
A wonderful area and nice to have a look around in somewhere I had only visited for 20mins before.

Thanks for the cache

15-Jan-22
Found while attending the 2022 Mega event at Wangaratta.

I drove across from Adelaide with Freddo. We took a week to get there and back as we meandered our way around northern Victoria, camping mostly along the river and generally avoiding contact with other people as far as possible to minimise covid risks.

While at the Mega we teamed up with gridge98 & Co. Most logs were signed FEGC (ie Freddo, e.gregory1 and gridge98 & Co).

We targeted some specific caches of interest, but also took the opportunity to find other random caches opportunistically as we were passing. Most of the puzzle caches were solved prior to leaving Adelaide in preparation for the trip.

Thanks BettyBoo3747 for the cache.

15-Jan-22
Found on mega weekend. One of a bunch of caches found and logged.

e.Gregory1 and Freddo decided to travel to Wangaratta for Geocaching Victoria’s first 2022 Mega event. The attraction of GeoMaze icon was just too tempting. We packed the Land Cruiser for a bubble environment. There would be some public exposure but we would be keeping it minimal. Fortunately we did not bother with any warm clothes. Fortunately we packed some Bushmans with +20% DEET. There were caches to find and we found caches. We saw a lot of interesting places and met the occasional geocacher or two in the field.

I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count.

This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and a Samsung S8. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs...

Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.

Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke für den Cache. Gracias por el caché. Bedankt voor de cache. Kiitos kätköstä. Zikomo posungira. Terima kasih untuk cache. Hvala cache. Köszönöm a cache. Nga mihi mo te keteroki. Dankie vir die kas.

Find #77 on our Mega trip. Decided I could not leave this unfound so we went back today to find a way into the cache that did not involve walking through the Long grass. By sneaking through the fence closer to the cache we were able to find it after a short search.
Thanks for the fun.

Very forlorn and forgotten is an understatement here!
A sad state of disrepair. Probably unrecoverable now, given the size of the trees!
Took a min to spot, blends in well!

Found by Rebel Acts

I was in town for a week to attend the Mega event, I had a great time catching up with friends and caching around the area, we had lots of laughs and fun along the way.

This is one of the caches found during the week. It really is sad to see the place so neglected, The geo trail through the long grass led me straight to GZ where I soon had the cache in hand.

Thanks BettyBoo3747 for the cache.

Suscoe and Phetlern had completed the OCR series in the morning today, nothing like an early start to get caches found during the cooler part of the day.
Part two of today was an afternoon trip around Wangaratta to find a few more caches.
It was getting warm now, we think it settled at 33 degrees
Thanks to BettyBoo3747 for this hide.

In Wangaratta for the Mega, we traveled over early so we could get some local caching in. After stowing the shop in a storage shed so it wasn't bouncing around in the back of the car we set up in the caravan park and can now cache and explore. Today we had a lazy sleep in and a late start with the mission to head back to Beechworth and have lunch at Billsons Brewery. After rolling out of the brewery after an awesome meal and some tastings, we headed back to Camp for a cheeky afternoon snooze. Stopped and grabbed this one first though! It is so sad to see a place like this get forgotten and overgrown. TFTC

#4728 Too good a day not to go out for some caching fun. En route to Beechworth with the geohounds we quickly swung by the lost cemetery. Lost in 6 foot high grass! We recall finding the previous cache here in our early days of caching. The geotrail led us to gz and Mrs BGF quickly spied the container. TFTC BB.

Found by Mary and David at 08:35. A FP awarded even before M stepped down from the GeoPrado. She loves cemeteries, and also your research on this place. It adds to the air of sadness that seems to permeate this neglected cemetery. Wouldn't like to be doing this at the height of summer. Quite a geotrail in the long grass . Surely a community could do some maintenance here? Our thanks to BettyBoo3747.

We parked nearby and first views of the site did seem very forlorn and forgotten. A little careful making the trip through the long grass - Lyn decided not to walk to GZ. I was surprised to find the cache quite quickly. Replaced as found. Thanks to BettyBoos3747 for the cache.

We had a feeling of deja vu as we approached GZ. Maybe we have found a cache here before!
A quick find and back on the road.

After a short trip to Tumut to catch up with family and friends it was time to head for home today.
It had rained all night last night and was still raining as we left. This continued all the way until we reached Wodonga where it began to fine up. This meant we had no opportunity to look for any caches en route until then, but we still were organized to look on the remainder of the journey. We managed to find a number of traditionals, some of good size, a pre-solved puzzle and an Adventure Lab in Healsville.
They broke up the journey well!

Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache BettyBoo3747.

We have found a cache here long ago, and the area was in much better condition then. We sat outside the gate and ate our lunch, before venturing through the long grass to GZ.
