Found after a couple of minutes looking here and there. Lots going on on the Oval on the other side. TFTC
I completed the AL for this mystery a while ago and at the time I had a quick search for this bonus but didn't have a lot of time to look properly. So just before work today I decided this would be my mission, to tick this one off the list of unfound finally. Thank you for the AL and bonus cache!
Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. With torrential rain this morning we stayed home until after lunch. Then out pottering around the suburbs picking off a few more AdLabs. With very little sunshine spotting any hanging or fishing caches had a higher difficulty than normal today.TFTC Tankengine
Catching up on logging from MEGAAfter picking up a hire car from the city, I am on my way back to my son's place but picking up a few must do caches along the way. Most interesting Ad Lab and a quick find of this Bonus cache.Log signed, cache returned.TFTC Tankengine
Suscoe's last day in Canberra for this trip. We enjoyed the Geobash, catching up with friends and meeting cachers that we have never met before. We even met more today at the Arboretum. The weather has been great, a sunny and mild day today made for pleasant caching conditions. We enjoyed the Botanical Gardens, The Arboretum, parts of Woden and Featherston. Thanks to Tankengine for this Bonus and Ad Lab. We enjoyed this cemetery wander. A favourite.
The cemetery is well maintained and we managed to collect information from the Ad Lab without a problem. Then off to GZ. I initially missed the container but did find it after a few minutes. Thanks to Tankengine for the cache.
Now chasing caches around Canberra for the Easter 2024 Geobash, signing as TAD which encompasses Tenkae, Astro and Deanside. Enjoying great company and the different aspects of our Commonwealth Capital. Thanks for placing the cache Tankengine contributing to this great game we play. Happy trails, deanside!
Found on the Mega Capital Geobash coastal loop via Adelaide - Barrington - coast to Mexico City loop. A lot of caches and white line fever was sweated out. Thanks Tankengine and clear skies from TeamAstro. Cache the planet! Some logs signed as TAD as teamed up with Tenkae and Deanside for additional fun.
Canberra Mega trip, a last minute decision to join Team Astro and Deanside in Canberra for Easter. Logs signed as TAD, what a great trip. Thanks to Tankengine for all the effort in placing and maintaining these caches.
Done the AL last year and didn't realise about the bonus so decide to come back today to grab this with 63Roos we both sign and placed back where it belong TFTC and TFTAL
What a fun with LAB, lovely view with interesting story..Accompanied with Groots_1983, quickly spot by her than me..Signed the log with no trouble..TFTM and TFTLAB
Returned from Cape York to Canberra today and the family is driving up to meet me - having a birthday weekend in the capital. Staying in Phillip so collected a few local caches before they arrived. The cemetery is tight next to my accomodation so I headed there first to collect the AdLab. An enjoyable walk and the bonus was quite close so grabbed that straight away. Quickly Sorted here this one here.TFTC Tankengine
We enjoyed the AL very much, and have been looking forward to visiting this location for something time. Nice to visit a few of Canberras celebrities! We initially had ourselves on the wrong side at GZ, but I return to the other side, and with a little digging around, added our name to the log. Thanks Tankengine Domsky
I caught the bus to this one, as it's on my bus route. However, the bus turned a corner after I had pressed the button and took a different route than I expected. It's because of the work happening at Woden at present. I still got off, looking about thinking, what now? However, that stop turned out to be convenient, as I found a back entrance to the cemetery open. Not sure though it was meant to be open. I walked across the cemetery to the first WP. The first headstone was a bit unique. I haven't see another like that, but it makes the writing stand out clearly. Then I followed the WPs back towards where I had entered the cemetery. Some headstones were found quickly; others not so quickly. Thank you for only using easily read headstones. I have done some ALs in cemeteries where I couldn't read the headstones, the writing almost worn off.
The AL completed it was off to GZ. I peered and poked about, before spotting the cache. Cache and log are good. I'm giving this a favourite tick for being easy public transport accessible. Then it was the short walk back to the bus stop for the short bus ride home. (Being a senior I travel for free.) TFTC Tankengine.

I saw this cache on the map last week and was mildly perplexed - surely I had long since done that one? I knew I'd done the Ad Lab, and GZ for this bonus cache was very familiar. Anyways, along I came today, and made the find in a very familiar place. Later, looking back at previous logs - specifically the photo of the old log sheet which was replaced back in Feb this year - I saw I had signed the log on 14/9/21. Somehow missed logging it online, but all fixed now!
Thanks for the Adventure Lab, and the Bonus cache, Tankengine!

It was reasonably quiet in the cemetery this morning as I strolled around completing the AL. I had noticed a couple having a heated discussion about a new memorial they were having made, and I had steered clear of them. Once I had the co-ords for this cache, I quickly realised it was going to be fairly close to these people. Luckily, they were too ensconced in their argument to take any notice of me as I sidled over to make a quick find.
Signed the log as LHoTL.

Found after completing the Adventure Lab on a glorious Easter Sunday. Had some time to myself between games at the annual Doeberl Cup chess tournament so ventured over here for some caching.
Happened to stumble across the memorial stone of my ex wife’s grandfather who passed away almost five years ago now. I didn’t realise this stone was here, and it meant a lot being able to sit alongside it for some time and remember the times we had together. He was a great man

Enjoyed this amble around Woden Cemetery. The images of the graves I was seeking certainly helped to compensate for my mobile phone's suboptimal GPS.
Quick grab at GZ - glad I approached from the correct side of the fence on the first time of asking.

Out and about Woden today, catching up with our daughter for lunch, we decided to do the cemetry Adv Lab, and did not realise there was a bonus until the last screen. Amended the coords for the bonus and off we went. Cache soon in hand and signed.

# 8356 I did the AL while I was in the area. I initially approached this one from the wrong side of the fence as that's what the map suggested, but I couldn't get it from here. Much easier from the right side.

Found Haven’t ever explored this Cemetery before- it is very peaceful. Thanks for the AL Tankengine!
Found on a full day of caching in Canberra.
An interesting Adventure Lab experience. Found the cache along the obvious feature at GZ.

In need of a few points for the souvenir challenge, so decided that redressing a few old DNFs were a good place to start. No idea why I didn’t spot this last time… perhaps I was expecting something a little bit larger. Good to find it now to turn blue into gold. I did get a bit anxious at one stage when I thought someone was approaching but it was just some leaves blowing in the wind. All very quiet today. TFTC.
Picked up today and have enjoyed exploring the cemetery. Had never actually been in here before.
Thanks for hiding this cache Tankengine for me and others to find.

Sorry for the late log. I found this one a year or so ago after I did the lab caches. Then I couldn't find this listing for some reason, probably technical. My old computers are sometimes a bit sick. Anyway, I've come across the listing now, so I'm logging it with the wrong date. I enjoyed this cache. I was dropping Mrs Mister JD off for a series of weekly appointments at the time and then going and finding a few caches. I had three walks with Sophie GeoSchnauzer in here looking at the graves in the lab cache, and finding the bonus cache. Thanks, Tankengine.
Great spot for the bonus cache! I had this little area spied out a couple of years ago for a Spycraft cache but never got around to placing one out! Thanks again TE.
Completed the AL and found this one. Overnighting in woden. Detailed log to follow. Tftbc
A nice easter stroll around the cemetery with my eldest and learning some of Canberra's history. Someone was a bit overzealous with a candle which required a visit from the fire brigade offered a bit of extra excitement. After completing the AL the physical cache was located easily, although I dont think the cockatoos appreciated me being there.

At a conference all day today, not far from here, so in my lunch break I had another stab at this.
The area was a bit more accessible and I did make the find OK.

This is a great cache for a nice cemetery! I really appreciate bonuses for AL's too!
There has been a handful of caches in here in the past, but they usually disappear before I even get a chance to find them! So really awesome to see that an experienced cache hider has managed to utilise this spot to it's full potential, with a unique take!
Enjoyed the drive amongst the waypoints, reminds me of a cemetery I have visited in Sydney numerous times. The grave sites were chosen with reason, and some research done to help me learn along the way.
This bonus was a nice quick find, in a safe spot away from the gardeners who are probably the cause of other cache disappearances here!
TFTC! Nicely done

Found by Mary and David at 15:50. A FP even before M started. She loves cemeteries for their architecture, the carved symbolism of the headstone designs, and the stories in the epitaphs. We learned so much, and may even return, as Mary could spend a whole day here exploring. Our thanks to Tankengine.
A nice cemetery this one, well cared for. At GZ cache found without any trouble, once signed and placed back there was a big white dog staring right at me, wooo. Don’t know where the owner was.

Now the Christmas break is well and truly over, I had to head out after work for today's caches. It started with the Labs in the Woden Cemetery. This area is always worth an explore with so many interesting areas to look at. There was time for one multi and then a few other caches before heading home.
After seeing a few rats running around by the back hedge, I took the results from the labs and headed over to this spot. The plaques here add even more interest to the whole area and it was well worth the visit today.
Thanks for the cache Tankengine

No sign today even after checking with the CO which is very odd - I hope I’m not just incredibly cache blind!! (Although that would mean the cache has gone awol which is not good either)

It was too busy to find the bonus cache when I completed the AL yesterday so I decided to come back today and try again. Not a living soul was here so found cache easily and it didn't feel quite as disrespectful as it would have been if visitors had been near. TFTC and the bonus.
A late update on this one, sorry it took a couple of weeks to get done, but, here we are...
We took the geopoodles out for a walk around the cemetery so that they could learn some history from the adventure cache - and can you believe it, we all learned something. I had no idea that so many people were buried down there, let along famous people who actually did things. It was also really interesting to see all of the different cultural (and other) sections across the cemetery.
Once again, Thanks for the cache Tankengine, it's another good one.

I have been doing a couple of these ALs each week when I had to bring Pa over to this side of town. Today I needed a mystery and a Lab for one of my personal challenges. What better way than to come and finish it off.
My timing wasn't too bright though as I had chosen to do housework all morning. I arrived for the final AL just as a downpour started. I sat it out in the car for about half an hour then gathered the required information .
GZ isn't that far away and luckily my only dry pair of shoes didn't get too wet while retrieving and signing the log.
Thanks for this interesting AL TE. I wonder how you ever managed to select the "Celebrities" when there are so many here.
Checked out the result of the downpour on my way home. Another one started just as I did get home.

25,268. Found with minniek during a very productive run around cherry-picking caches today.
With minniek having an early mark we decided on a particular list of caches to try for. First stop was Woden Cemetery. While there are many notable people buried here, I have paid my respects several times to Ernest Albert Corey. Ernest, a member of the 55th Battalion 1st AIF during WWI, is the only person EVER to have been awarded the Military Medal (MM) 4 times - known as the MM with 3 Bars. Ernest was a stretcher bearer who showed amazing courage many many times, and was fortunate to have survived the war. Ernest died in 1972, and was buried here in Woden Cemetery with full military honours. It is worth while reading up on this amazing Australian.
Anyway - after that short deviation - the cache was found in the likely spot - always happy about that !
Thanks Tankengine !! I do enjoy coming here. Favourite Point.

A few days caching in the ACT and surrounds with Steeba, Wilbert67 and The Rats, another trip away like countless others that we have done before. We got the dates, we did the planning, we worked out a route. But there was one thing that we could not plan for; the weather.
The caches were excellent. The company faultless. The weather; atrocious. Rain, rain, rain. And then more rain. On several occassions we had to change our intended route, abandon plans, and even came home a day early. Alas, the rain had been predicated, but we had hoped it would stay away.
Please forgive the boiler-plate log, I assure you it is no reflection on the caching experience of our few days away. Thank you to all cache owners for their hides.
Cheers

Our first post-lockdown caching run with steeba, Hoojar and Wilbert had been planned for months and whatya know it - we forgot to let the weather gods know our plans. NSW experienced torrential rain and chilling winds across most of the state, but that didn't stop us.
Friday's weather wasn't any better than the previosu day so we concocted a new plan that said trekking around Canberra grabbing LAB caches and a smittering physical hides.
After finding the lab we were able to quick piece this one together

After struggling on the very wet dirt roads last night and with much more rain coming today we decided to change plans and hit for Canberra, hoping to do caches suitable for rain and also picking some adventure labs. Slow progress today. Great times with the Rats, Hoojar and Steen's.

Yeah out GPS started giving us wild distances halfway around the cemetery (Doc Evatt). We used the map and some cache senses to work out where this cache was. GPS told us we were on Yamba drive and about 200m from the cache.
Completed the AL quickly. Who knew that these people were buried here? Then got coords and off to GZ. My GPS was behaving strangely and kept pointing me in different directions but expanded the search area and soon the cache was signed. TFTC Tankengine!

The younger GeoTeen and I did this AL just after it was published - a welcome diversion during lockdown, and a really nicely put together AL. We were lucky to have an unplanned meeting with StarsAlign and ALL7 and Cheeky the dog as we went around each waypoint, and then we all went and signed the bonus log together.
Thanks, Tankengine, and a favorite from me for a lockdown AL to cheer us all up!

Completely forgotten about this AL until mountainsbeyond gave me a reminder a few minutes ago.
By coincidence mountainsbeyond (with Cath & dog ), ALL7 (& dog Cheeky ) and I ️ ️ ️ ended up in the cemetery one sunny ️ Saturday morning last month. It was fun doing this AL as a group and learn about our local history at the same time in gorgeous Spring weather. This place was very popular despite COVID and we were careful to keep our distances.
It was great to be able to sign the log soon after this adventure. Well done to Greyhams and Aquillus1 for the FTF in the middle of a pandemic.
Worth a favourite point for learning something new and different, and in a place I'd rather avoid under normal circumstances. TFTC Tankengine.

A had heard from other that there was a new AL out here with the bonus yet unpublished, and so I found myself one afternoon towards the end of lockdown wandering over here to do the AL and find the bonus. A nice drive/wonder around the cemetery got me the information no problem, especially once I had figured out that the picture itself identified the grave in question much quicker than searching around for the name. The bonus was nice and close so I collected it right away.
Thanks for the AL and bonus TE

Found it, but was not first to find. Did the AL when released during lockdown and with that, found the final coords. It took a bit of searching but all good in the end. There were already a heap of signatures before the cache was published. The biggest challenge for this cache was just finding the graves amongst all the rows. A fantastic AL that showed off some really interesting locations of names I found familiar. The third location was the most interesting story behind it! TFTC TE!
Enjoyable AL which we managed to complete IAW ACT Health Guidelines during lockdown. Surprisingly busy here today with citizens taking their daily 2 hour exercise. Thanks also for the Bonus TE which took a bit of a hunt but spotted eventually.
Completed the AL during an 'exercise' period while in lockdown and track down the bonus without too many issues. Had to walk a bit further than required, but that's what I get for not checking my map properly. Great AL and I certainly enjoyed all the waypoints.
Thanks TE...nicely done again.

*FTF* with Aquilus1 when the AL was published.
I had heard of a streak challenge for Labs, so before Aquilus1 picked me up for a days caching I checked to see what labs we could both want, and this was AL was published sometime overnight. Nice AL and at the end were greated with coords for the bonus. We found the cache and much to our pleasure we noted that we were first, but obviously the bonus cache listing had not been published yet.
As soon as the big backlog of caches started being published, I logged this immediately so that no one chased the FTF. Reading Toy Hunters log it seems many people found it.
Awesome names on graves, some very surprising. Who knew a former secratary general of the UN was buried in Woden?

*FTF* with GreyHams when the AL was published.
Out with GreyHams on a lovely spring day and the first stop of the day was for my much needed AL. It was recently pointed out to me the calendar finds for ALs and with my poor effort of finding them I had an empty calendar and lots of ALs to fill it, so have been doing one a day... Not sure why but it seems I like to challenge myself!!!
Luckily GreyHams noticed this newly published AL, I had thought we were targeting the nearby disk golf but really enjoyed the Cemetery AL. Was surprised to find out that so many important names are here, including the President of the United Nations which was very impressive really!
The AL was enjoyable and very straight forward, coords as expected where spot on so we found the information reasonably easy but the one which we circled about for a short time trying to get the right row! I do like a bonus cache for an AL and after a quick search at GZ for this final led to another nice bonus of a blank log... seems like it was a busy day of finders that day too.
Thanks for the cache Tankengine!
