The SNOMO series of caches first attracted my attention in the Covid years. Being a mountain and snow person myself I found the puzzles to be both interesting and challenging.I knew some clever logistics and planning amidst seasonal road closures would need to be considered.A group of us made plans for 2 days here.Log signed as VIC1. Found today with maccamob, Muzza, Alansee, micaparamedic, Rabbitto, Mclookers and ThePacman.Day 2 and weather threatening. Up to the Bon Accord and then back into town The last of the snomos..Thanks Ronice88

After lunch at the pub, we headed out of town to tyackle the F.L.A.K.E. cache, which we completed. We found few Trads and multis along the way, and finished the day with an Event at the Bright pub. Our thanks to Ronice88.

Sometime ago my parents offered to take me to Mt Buffalo with them to go camping and have some fun. With my caching mind going in full force I checked out the surrounds and a large snowman is bound to attract some attention! With that I went on a puzzling solving spree on the week that followed and today got to visit Harrietville to dip my toes into some of the series! Some interesting puzzles in the mix, and a lovely variety of containers in some cool locations, thanks for the series Ronice88! I'll be back to finish what I started soon I imagine!A easy solve here, just took some time.A fun retrieval with a natures TOTT nearby!

Found by The Empire + HAfter arriving in Harrietville, we made our way to the Tronoh Dredge Reserve, a serene spot known for its picturesque walking trails and history. The reserve was once the site of gold mining, and today, the remnants of that era can still be seen amidst the tranquil surroundings. We followed the trail around the lake, its calm waters reflecting the surrounding trees and distant mountains. The walk was peaceful, with the sounds of birds and rustling leaves filling the air. The path wound through a mix of open areas and shaded pockets of forest, offering plenty of spots to pause and take in the beauty of the reserve. As we circled back, the history of the area was evident in the landscape, but nature had long since reclaimed it, making the Tronoh Dredge Reserve a perfect blend of heritage and natural beauty. Only here for a lap with the nephews today, we'll be back another day to finish the rest of this fun series. Thanks for the cache Ronice88.-M

After lunch and a little bit of a relax we headed out about 2pm to continue on our Snomo quest (stopping for others we came across as well. Earlier in the day we had completely missed that we could have found this one whilst at The Dredge. We also wanted to return to the new site of the Harrietville Bush Kinder so I could get photos, without chidren there, of all the wonderful creations they had made! First the cache... we headed off and turned a bit early so had to make our way through the trees on the bank before getting to GZ. Once there GMelb gave me the tott to retrieve the cache, which was fun and nice and easy. Signed, I attemted to replace but the mechanism was a bit slow so it took a few attempts to completely replace and I also needed GMelbs help ... unfortunately our tott "bit" GMelb so he was then oozing blood (into his hanky) till we got back to the car! :-0 All good now. On the way out I grabbed the desired photos to show my Kinder - yey Smile Home for dinner and a 2 Zoom meetings for GMelb! After the second zoom meeting finished we headed out and did the Women of the Upper Ovens Adlab to have the co-ords ready for the next day. More detail in that log tomorrow . Thanks for a lovely day! This was solved some time ago, but today I had the opportunity to search for it. I was lucky to have the CO with me here, so she was able to explain that I needed a TOTT. We found a suitable one lying nearby, and the log was soon signed. I have seen this type of hide before, but it still deserves a favourite point. Thanks for the cache , Ronice88, and for your jovial company today.

A nemesis word of mine growing up, seemingly unable to put an l into it I pronounced woof (yep, like a dog) for years.Eventually saw the error of my ways and can add an l almost without thinking about it.None of which is relevant to the cache but its been a long day and so Im rambling. TFTC.

Found it! The Traveling Muggles and I were enjoying our afternoon in the warm sunshine. I knew there were a couple of more caches nearby so while Muggles Wen and John had a rest, Muggle Heather and I went for a short jaunt to find them. At GZ I discovered I needed some extra reach and managed, just! Very clever cache and Im pleased to have retrieved it. I also enjoyed the puzzle except for the picture and my eyes going crossed eyed! TFTC SL Favourite point added for the cache container!

I’ve finally returned to Harrietville to finish off the Snomo series.
The final cache in the Snomo series and funnily this was the first one I should’ve found. Way back when I found the first clutch of caches it was after a CITO and this cache was only a hundred meters from where we were working. Strange how things work out.

Love your effort Ronice! Thanks for the puzzles and the caches!

The lid popped off the cache as soon as I touched it with my makeshift tott, so up I climbed.

OCW PelDroedGwin and geodog Peppa

Day 2 in Harrietville with the aim of finishing off the snow man.

Access to this next few caches was a lot of fun and gave us the chance to put Nina Nissan through her paces.

I am a big animal lover but these guys aren't really on my favourite list! A fun puzzle that didn't involve too many legs.

Caches like this always make me smile, have a FP from me.

With the MEGA now finished we headed off to camp at Smoko while we explored Harrietville and the surrounds. The weather is a little more overcast today so we thought it would be perfect temperature for a walk.

Another puzzle I’ve not seen before, but then again there are so many different kinds of this I don’t think I ever will. A clever hide off the track to this little side adventure.

Thanks Ronice88 for placing this gamepiece in the wild for us to find.

It’s MEGA Road Trip time!! A plan is hatched and we are good to go.
DAY FOUR: Harrietville
Thankfully I didn’t need to look at this pic for too long while solving.
Thanks for bringing us here today by placing this cache, Ronice88

I signed the log yesterday with SciFiRulz and sherpani8000 after attending the CITO. I hadn't sat down to solve this puzzle until this morning. After getting the green light I can tick another one of this great series off. I really liked the photo of the Wolf spider and a clever hide

#24 in the series was #3 for us. Big Grin

It proved to be jolly handy sneaking this one in during the CITO. Razz Catnap777 and I were both carrying the exact TOTT (one each) needed for retrieving this cache having been handed the gardening tools on arrival by the event manager. [:o] [^]
Again CybergranV, cat' and I managed to get our names on the logsheet right behind FTFers Robmc & BettyBoo. [^]
Looks like some FTF hounds have turned to wolves. TwistedWink

TFTC Ronice88. Another great hide. Cool

Extraordinary Ronice88 Smile. You are an inspiration to all in so many ways. This geoart is a thing of beauty, and the puzzles were varied and interesting and had elements of complexity and simplicity which was a perfect mix. The design of the cache containers was well thought out and they provided an interesting theme and were constructed in a way as to preserve the log in all types of weather. This whole series took clever planning and each area where the hides were placed was picturesque and serene, whether driven or walked. I cached this weekend with a perfect group of cachers and this weekend in particular outlined why I love this game so much. It is this calibre of caches that make this hobby a pleasure and I only hope that this series will inspire others to start hiding their own caches in the near future. To sum up my experience here; I will be back with my man to continue this journey, and start another, as we have not conquered this mountain yet. Some caches in the series were signed with this acronym CCDJN; it spells "The A team". Thank you to all who were involved in this weekend Razz.

Found. Another of the simpler puzzles in the series, a straightforward solve once it was identified. After attending a CITO with a group of others, weirdobiker, Sherpani8000 and I went for a walk and found some caches in the area. This one was a bit of fun to get to the log, we made use of some natural tools nearby and retrieved the cache, an imaginative hide. TFTC

Today we had an opportunity to collect some of this very challenging and enjoyable series after the CITO event.
This puzzle was one of the first that I solved in the series and our first find today. We didn’t come very prepared but we had fun finding and signing the cache.

Thanks Ronice for a great puzzle and cache.

Found by dalerious and Catnap777 whilst we were doing the CITO at Tronoh Reserve this morning.
Thanks for this beaut series Ronice.
Loved seeing you using codes we’d been working on during Covid at the Codecrackers Zoom meetings. You have certainly picked up some devious ideas.
And loved your photo of the Wolf too.

#18094. We thought we might return to Harrietville tomorrow as the power will be off all day in Beechworth but the weather was so warm today we decided to make a late start from home just before lunch. This puzzle solving business is such hard work our brains are rather frazzled right now. Finding the caches with doggies in tow and a reluctant walking lady (the one who absolutely hates walking) meant some of these finds were long and slow. We did manage to sign off on another 13 SNOMO's today however with a Trad thrown into the mix. - 10 x FTF's and 3 x 2TF's this afternoon.

{FTF} After a pleasant break for lunch at the dredge hole (along with about 100 school kids just returning to shore) we decided to try for just a few more before heading home. This was another great puzzle to solve - I like this type with no maths or science involved. We have seen this type of hide in the past, but not for a long while, and they are always enjoyable to find.

Thanks Ronice88

A very late start today as we needed to be in Beechworth just before lunch, but it was too nice a day not to pop out to Harrietville and do a few more walks to grab some more SNOMO's.
We were a bit restricted as we had the doggies with us, but we still got several done.
A rare sunny day at the base of the hills.

Didn't see any poisonous or dangerous creatures today. A few kanga bouncers, many skinks, lots of interesting birds.
A hide technique that I have not seen in a while, but is always good.
A [FTF] here.
Thanks, Robmc.
