We have been able to explore the area and take in all the sights and sounds of the city. Despite the humidity, the weather has been quite pleasant and we have enjoyed our stay. We still have a few days left before we head back on way to Mackay and we are looking forward to seeing what else Townsville. enjoyed with labsHere's one to find today.Thank you for placing the cache greencordial.
Caching in the area we pick up a few caches along the way and this was one of them.
Enjoyed exploring the area, cache and contents were in good condition.
Many thanks for placing this cache and adding to our geocaching experience today.

First stop here to get my accompanying cacher knottsav a complete set of Ad Labs, and grab the other nearby options too. A really pleasant walk around, though the 'steps' one was a bit tough and our clockwise route would have been easier solved anti-clockwise!! All good and stepped into one part to admire the huge aquarium. Nice drive/walk to the final, nice camo on the container. which was spotted from a lower position.
A weekend of sporadic caching opportunities with work and tasks being interspersed through that time. Managed to get put a couple of times today, not huge numbers but enough to get me within 4 of my 16k target for this visit to QLD. Two more Ad Labs completed, and their bonus ? accompanying caches. Thanks to all COs for their caches, and the fun involved with finding.

On my way to an appointment I wanted to stop in here to have another look. This one took me more attempts then it should have. Coming back in my third attempt I quickly spotted the cache after looking from a different angle.
Thanks for the AL and for the final.

Apologies for the late log here (27.12.23) but I've had a busy time since getting back to the UK.After an interesting tour and a useful sit down (ahem) I found myself here, which was good as I'd not parked far away. A little poke around before I located it, but I left happy. Thanks for the mooch TNLN-TFTC!SP (UK) on an epic trek right around the world.
After completing the adventure lab, Konie and I headed to this bonus cache. We searched for a while, before I finally put my hands on the cache. We added our names to the log, returned everything as found, then continued on our way. TFTC
In the Townsville area with Selva Girls to pick up some solved puzzles, Challenge caches and anything else that gets in the way. We found an interesting collection of caches in some nice areas and this was one of them. Tree climbs, tree fishing and hanging off rocks, all part of the fun.
Enjoyed the lab and with then headed off to GZ where SG made the find.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for me and others to enjoy.

Found with The X-Trailers after doing the great adv lab. A fav point today. Loved some sculptures and art work around the area.
Took us awhile to spot but I pointed Earthlight in the right direction

Perfect timing for this one. Saturday afternoon, and not "school" time. Walked to the AL WPs, and drove to the final. Living on the edge parking nice and near with nobody around to notice.
Thanks for the tour.

An interesting walk around the campus on a quiet day of the weekend after finishing the Adventure Lab here.

We mist this this morning,it was raining and we stopped looking.. Talked to fellow cache hunter ,they said to go back and try again... Rain has stopped so back we went.. Bingo gotcha ..off to get some lunch. Thanks to the cache owner for the challenge..
It was interesting to look around Bebegu Yumba. While I was admiring the mirrored walkway, MrG was heading into the cafe for a pie. With the last location visited we put the co-ordinates in for the final.. a logical final we thought. Except that we almost DNF'd the cache. Only spotted it at the nth minute. There was a 50/50 chance we were at the right level..... bah-bow..... TFTC greencordial.
Geoturtle37, Team Crackers and Micaparamedic made sure that we headed out to attempt to find this one seeing as we had completed the A/L. Pleased to say that once the right altitude was worked out, the cache was found. Thanks for both the A/L and this bonus.
Today we were out and about caching with Geoturtle37, Papi4506 & micaparamedic planning an easy day with some sight seeing and some targeted targeted caches that we wanted to get.
After completing the Adventure Lab the other day we were unable to locate this sneaky hide. After talking to a few people that we bumped into we got a clue on this one so we came back here today and tried again.
The search still took us awhile even though the cache was in a few meters of our gz, we insisted on making it way harder than it needed to be. We then realised what the others were talking about when they gave us a hint and not long after that we spotted the cache and a little while later we were adding our names to the log.
Many thanks greencordial for the adventure lab and this cache, not sure why we made it so hard.

During the Easter long weekend, it was all about the Townsville Mega event! Highlights included a hike at Cape Pallarenda Conservation Peak, walks atop the local mountains of Mount Stuart, Castle Hill, and Mount Louisa, checking out a few shady spots along Ross River, sewer pipe / tunnel adventures, and a scuba dive to see the Museum of Underwater Art at John Brewer Reef. The Mega events themselves were fantastic: Gadget lab caches, GPS maze, trivia night, tree planting CITO, and Cal's Escape Room. There was also plenty of geocaching to be had, such as power trailing through the geoarts The Saint and the Book, and the collection of challenge caches at Bushland Beach mudflats. My view of Townsville had completely changed from my trip experience, and much kudos to the Cache Qld Townsville Mega Committee.
We managed to make a stop at this cache on our last day in Townsville, before separating on our way back home. After completing the corresponding Adventure Lab, we stopped off at this bonus cache and made a quick find. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. We decided to sign the geocache as DWEG1 (Davidwazza and e.gregory1) to save space in the logbook. Thanks greencordial for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

After exploring the grounds and finding required answers, we had a quick look before having to retreat as we had to be somewhere else.
The following day we had to visit the nearby hospital, so an ideal opportunity to revisit and sign the log once we had eyes on the cache.

Found as part of the Qld Cache mega event weekend in Townsville over Easter 2022. Joined forces with Gunnie69 after flying up from Brisbane to tackle a variety of caches around the Townsville area including three GeoArt series, other puzzles and a few labs! I would like to thank all the cache owners who are making this an enjoyable weekend!
Today it was heading out to James Cook University and then back towards to the centre of town, before seeing Gunnie69 off as he headed back to Brisbane
A smiley has been added to the cache!

Another day in Townsville means another day of caching and tourism for Tankengine, Youban and I.
This cache: The AL was lovely on a quiet public holiday. Wish we had brought morning tea to enjoy the plaza.
Hide for the bonus was in an interesting spot. Definitely easier getting to a better position to spot the cache first before retrieving it. Tftc!!!

The last day in Townsville for Ghostgums and I before we head back to Brissy. Time to clean up the outstanding labs and the associated bonus caches. [^]
One of the labs for this series caused a whoel world of problems and we could not get the right number. It took a PAF to clarify what we were apparently looking for, then we were good to continue. The perils of a sequential series...
With the 5 ticked off, we calculated the final location and headed off. A short walk and the coords were pretty good, making the find nice and quickly on arrival at GZ.
Names in the log, cache back in place, we hit thr road in search of a few more.
Cheers greencordial.

Out and about for a day of caching in Townsville with swearah and stephyy. This was our last one for the day before having a little rest and heading out for some night caching. This was a great AL and once at GZ I managed to spot the cache, hopefully my cache blindness has cleared up. Tftc greencordial ️
Up in Townsville for the MEGA with Sharpe m and slow puncture . All the log books were signed SSQ to save room. Our last morning in Townsville and we got up nice and early for a walk to get a few more caches. I love a Lab cache and this was a great one to do on a public holiday. What a nice uni this is. At GZ it did take us awhile to spot the hide. Thanks for taking us here and for placing this cache here for us to enjoy
A nice AL to finish the day.

Townsville Mega 2022. Monday. After completing the really fun AL, we headed in to grab the bonus cache. There were a few people around today, but not too many and we enjoyed some of the really pretty spots with water fountains in the area. We couldn’t spot the cache at first and Que Sera checked out the locale from a different perspective and bingo! We soon had the cache in hand and the log was signed with out SSQ signature for all 3 of us.
This was the 7th of 8 caches found on this outing.
Thanks ***greencordial*** for showing us this place

Chooo ooo [found] with Dty73 and youban on our Townsville Mega run! Got speared by thorns! Thanks greencordial!
I spent a lot more time here than I care to admit. I even had a second team join me and together it took us over 15mins. I had a lot of conversations with people over the mega weekend. With most people saying that Burgo78 does the hard puzzles and greencordials has the caches that are hard to find. Apparently you are known for hiding them in last place people think look. I am now headed home to pick the bindis out of my caching buddies fur coat ??. Thanks for the great hide ??

After completing the Bebegu Yumba adventure, it was a real bonus to add our name to the log here.
We did find the question for the Lab Cache regarding the stairs somewhat misleading as regards the nature of the entrance.
However, it was great to wander around the pleasent university grounds.
Thanks greencordial for creating the AL & this Bonus..

Day 4 in Townsville for the Mega. On our way back to our accommodation, we took a short detour here to work our way through the AL. After completing our circuit of the Uni, we popped in the numbers and headed here. With two different elevations and teamwork, we soon had the cache in hand. Thanks greencordial
As my partner is an alumni of JCU, I was quite interested to visit the campus and enjoyed the adventure lab’s introduction to the area. This bonus cache took us to a spot that needed a quick change of elevation to spot it, but was then a quick retrieval too. Found while exploring lovely Townsville and surrounds during the CacheQld Townsville Mega, with DisSister and Dragonsky. TFTC, greencordial. =^.^=
Great Northern escape 2022 Day 8. Townsville Mega section Day 8. Mega Day 1. Easter has arrived and the town is quiet. There was a plan to try the Breaking bad walk today, but that fell apart due to some planning issues and a possability the park was closed. What's more, it was hot. Instead Smitten Granny, Gliss!, Nibletricecakes and I toured around town doing Labs and interesting caches we had solved or had peaked our interest during planning. The evening was the welcome to Mega event alongside some amazing gadget caches, followed by some impromptu night caching with Cosmonaut97.
Somehow I failed to log this when I found it so doing now two months later.

It’s Mega time once again!! Woo hoo!! Love these epic road trips and a wonderful Mega event. Managed to cache with loads of different people throughout the long weekend - such a fun way to cache! Have signed as SCG, X, Snag, Capital crunchers, NRC, Nibletricecakes, Minifigas, Minifig or some combination of the above! Thanks to everyone in the region for the top quality caching. Appreciate your efforts planting and maintaining these caches.
This campus was very busy with cachers today by looking at the logs - but did we spot any??
Thanks GC for showing us around the university.

Was able to pick this one up after completing the local AL. Kidlet had been picked up from family and we figured now was a good a time as any. The AL was good fun to complete and took us to places we wouldn't have gone to otherwise so TFTALB.

After spending yesterday out on the Island, the target today was as many ALs as possible with a few others thrown in for good luck. So it was that Nibletricecakes Albida33 , GLISS! and I set off to become conquering heroes. All caches were found to be in excellent condition so were signed as NAGS or some such combination.
These caches were extraordinary in their variety and creativity. Huge thanks to all COS for the incredible effort that has gone into the creation and placement of both the ALs and caches.

TFTC. Today was an Adventure Lab day. We thought it being Good Friday it would be a good day with lighter traffic and. Easier parking. As we traveled to the various waypoints we also stopped for various tradition /virtual and found bonus caches. A good start to the mega weekend.
Had to resort to a different perspective to locate this one.

Got it. Looked at the right angle for a quick find. Good conclusion to the AL. Thanks and fav point
An easy day today, a day of catching up on some logging, Willis007 arrives, so a drive to the airport is in order. Organising events and the what, where and how. We do have some plans for the afternoon chasing some challenges but it is an easy day today.
The lab I was unable to finish as I had an issue with one of the questions, lucky for me I had bumped into the CO at an event the night before. She told me that I needed to go to the exact coordinates and it will make sense. Anyways I finally got the little man to give me a green cordial tick and I was off to collect.
Thanks for the fun adventure, all good with this one.

Enjoyed our afternoon drive around the UNI , lots of building activity happening around here.

Thanks for the Adventure Lab and the walk around the campus. It has been more than a decade since our last visit and there has been considerable change.
With all of the information required we made the drive to the bonus cache and after a bit of a scout around discovered what we were looking for an exactly where it was located.
An easy reach when you know where.

Today was a notable day for Cachedin NQ. Nearly 18 years ago the first junior CNQ was born quite close to here, today he was left (along with half a car load of computer and gaming equipment) at one of the halls of residence to start first year JCU - Advanced physical sciences and maths. Mr CNQ had collected some of the lab stages on Thursday when we put a dent in the Uni administrivia. Back today for the dropoff and the bonus cache as well. No drama with either. This adventure is complete - but others are just begining, thanks greencordial.
Found it! We completed the AL last time we were in town but ran out of time to find the bonus. We made sure we had time this trip, as we didn’t want to wait for our next visit, which may be for the Mega Event. Scheduled time this morning to do the detour before heading home. A nice AL and bonus to go with it. TFTC
Nice first effort Green. I enjoyed riding around the beautiful campus remembering the year I spend here in 2003. Lots of wallaby onlookers on a quiet Saturday afternoon.
The bike meant the I could pull up close to most locations to collect the coordinates for this one and I soon had the final in hand after changing my angle of approach.
Thanks greencordial for creating and placing this for us to enjoy.

Thank you greencordial for setting up the AL bonus cache and thanks for helping with one of the answers which wouldn't load properly on our app. Probably just a once of glitch on our phone. We enjoyed visiting the locations around JCU and the cache was found easily.
While I appreciate the CO’s first attempt at a Adventure lab, I did think it was let down by the grass around the grounds being too pale a shade of green for my liking. I also thought there were too many students around here. Also far too much stair climbing when it should have been about the science. What would Greta have thunk? … and don’t get me started on that death trap of a roundabout. The cache however redeemed the bad taste in my mouth thanks to the grass. Who doesn’t just love a nicely painted mint tin even though there was no hint of the one trademark greencordial glue gun. We did have a return to camouflage, of sorts. Thanks greencordial for your step up into smileys involving another app. So big brained of you.
Well that was a close [FTF]
Spending most of may daily life out here this was an easy and quick lab cache. No need to get dirty for the bonus either. Thanks a lot for creating it.
