14 September 2024 13:43Cybergran V, dalerious and I were in Wodonga attending a Season 2 CITO hosted by weirdobiker , then once that job was completed, we decided to have some R&R and head to Yack and onward to Beechworth before pointing the car further South to Shepparton and Tatura. This trad happened to be on the road to where we were set to visit and allow me to go and find a cache that I have had ready to find and sign, but for one reason or another, just hadn't done so thus far.So thank you BettyBoo3747 for providing this cache as a stop along the way.Cache found in good condition.
Found with Cybergran V & catnap777. 14 September 2024 1:43pm.With the last few nuts cracked in a very old series of Mystery Caches, Me, Mum and The Mrs went for a drive through the Stanley hills to shake a few trees and see what falls out. We managed to sign the last few Nutty November caches that needed some kind of 4x4 to get to easily. Dads old X-Trail did the job admirably in the dry and the track spat us out close to Lake Kirby. Well we couldnt just drive straight past this little park n grab that none of us had found before. TFTC BettyBoo3747
On the way from the CITO at Wodonga this morning, to Beechworth, via Yackandandah, this cache made a perfect park and grab by catnap777 and dalerious, to add our names to the log. Thanks for placing a nice easy one, and the chance to stretch the legs, before our long journey home.
The most easterly bit of the walk and starting to rain a bit by now. No traffic on this road. Very quiet. TFTC
Back out in the rain - what a day! Dried out the container and left a new log book in a fresh baggie. All good now.
Container had water in it. Cleaned up as best we could, changed the bag to a dry one, signed the log and replaced as found. Note: log book has black mould and will probably get worse with time. TFTC
One of only a small handfuls of drive-bys on todays meander around the forest here.
And probably one of the easiest accesses that didn’t require hand to hand combat with the dreaded blackberry.
As we were completing the admin side of cache finding, the P Plate brigade in their forklift powered buckets of bolts went tearing past in first gear and on the limiter…if only 4wds had some sort of stick that poked up through the floor that enabled you to change the gears to a higher ratio instead of only having one gear…..anyway, they were obviously trying to impress one of us…..4wding certainly has changed these days….

Quick grab while 2 occupants loaded something from in the pines into bags into their boot. Very dodgy. Hoping pine cones or mushrooms. They packed up quickly while we were stopped & watching! Tftc
Out and about with Mrs Wackyweedo today for some extended birthday celebrations of hers, which included a trip to the Brewery for lunch and a visit to Billsons with a few caches thrown in.
We saw an FTF still unfound, which happened to be published on Mrs W’s birthday, we decided we should head out this way before lunch and try out luck.
Well, we didn’t head to Wallaby Mine today, we just grabbed this cache before heading for pizza and drove past to see what dodgy things a random fancy BMW was up too, we have no idea, but it was a tad sus.
We also got sidetracked by awesome coloured mushys! None we’d eat though, don’t worry

Geodog & I are enjoying the sunshine exploring different parts of Beechworth. A quick and easy park and grab. TFTC
Bingo bango hard to miss️ More tracks to explore and on a mission to move that CENTROID further east and further south closer to home base. Time to get off the couch, get 4 pistons going and head to some altitude at Stanley. Perfect temp and lovely smell of the forest, fresh air and COVID Free! Love this forest. TFTC And The Fun
In all our travels we would not have even thought to travel to this location.
(HaHa). In your dreams, these cachers do.

We were actually on our way to the Hurdle Flat series, but found a large Winnebago parked on the road to the picnic ground, so changed our plans and ended up here instead. SL at 11.10am #8414 TFTC BB - it is getting quite hot in the sun, so the Secret Trail looks nice and shady for our next caching finds.

In the company of an unstoppable bushfire and the white beast, a very busy time was had In Beechworth. This was nearby so we detoured to collect a couple of trads.
Thanks for this one BettyBoo3747

My good friend 6Hinemoa2 and the ageing Bushfire decided to head up to this old gold mining area for a few days to mainly concentrate on the Randolph the Rat series but grabbing LAB’s and anything else that happened to be nearby.
This guy just happened to closeby so we had a look.
Thanks for placing.

A georgous day spent with Math64 and Bucrog52 out Stanley way. Despite being a local I have never explored this area before. So lucky to live in the beautiful NE.
Found by bucrog52 coords very off.

Heading to Lake Kerferd and picking up a few caches up on the way. We don't have a lot of time today, so getting some easy ones on the way there.

Mr Morris has a few weeks off but with border restrictions we thought we'd do a slow lap of Victoria while we had some good weather.
After 3 nights at the lovely Forest Camp campgrounds in the Warbys it was time to head to Beechworth and catch up with Betty Boo and Robmc for a couple of days.
With a full day of adventuring available to us we headed up to some of Betty Boos new offerings along with the CO, Robmc and the 2 small dogs.
Found on our way to see the giants.

I have never been to Lake Kerford so I rectified that today. On the way I stopped by here for a quick find.
Cheers

Had planned to come to Beechworth on my first opportunity to cross the border and so today was the day. Convinced the family to come up as well to visit the Magic Forest and also lunch in the middle T the Brewery. The weather wasn’t as sunny as I hoped for butterflies but it didn’t rain much so was a very pleasant day..
Quick walk along the road passing one bike to this hide. Very quickly located, signed and returned.

A quick and easy find on our way back to Beechworth from visiting Wallaby Mine area. TFTC
#4638 Last day of the long weekend and we were finally greeted by some nice weather. Time to get outdoors for a caching adventure! Returning to the Beechworth area this time we concentrated on making a bunch of finds in the bush near Lake Kerferd.
Continuing to make our way round to clean up cache finds in this section of forest. A quick P&G here. We have previously been to the Wallaby mine on seperate caching adventure a few years back. Well worth a looksee. TFTC BB.

Not planning to go to the Wallaby today, but I do remember this road.
A nice quick park and grab here.
Thanks, Robmc.

FTF shared with OZREG
New caches and school holidays go together well. I thought I might have to head out and see what the back of Lake Kerferd looks like and maybe pick up a few FTF's on the day. So I gave Reg a call and off we went. Came in to these from past the golf course which was a new route for me.
A nice easy park and grab and motivation to head out to Wallaby mine one day soon

Joint FTF with Lillieb05 who had a reason to duck down to Old Coach Road for some maintenance. Upon him being notified of some recently published caches he called me and asked shall we team up. I quickly replied pick you up in 40 minutes. Interesting start with "How to get to GZ through these blackberry bushes" No wet feet. Found a path hoping other caches a little easier. A mild weather day and a very enjoyable stroll through the area having some great points of interest. Thanks BettyBoo so much for the placement of these caches, and some well deserved favourites among them. Well done.
