Great little earthcache on a souvenir weekend with LittleLeah79. TFTCTTFNBeaker DGS
In Adelaide for a couple of days and before heading home walked over to this earthcache location in order to grab the lastest souvenir offering for the International EarthCache Day 2024. Lovely little rain garden. Answers sent off to the CO and now posting with permission. Thanks for the earthcache I_J.The following TBs came through for the mileage: Bob geoMinion, Dave geoMinion, Evil geoMinion, Jerry geoMinion, Larry geoMinion, Mary Hyde's Treasure, Stuart geoMinion, teamMerlin's 7 Deadly Ducks Tag (Lust), Vanlith The Youngling, Hidden Creatures Geocoin TB, teamMerlin's Football, 15 Year Anniversary Tag, The Whaley
#24289. An interesting feature, and a good idea. Troodles sent answers on behalf of us both. TFTC.
I had never heard of arain garden before and think there should be more of them. Maybe there are more, just that I have never noticed them before.Logged with permission, thanks for an interesting earth cache.
Today we visited your Earthcache GC9H4C5 Wright Street Rain Garden. This one interested us because it probably has the smallest surface area of many that we have seen meaning that large constructions are not required to achieve the aims of a rain garden.Answers to the questions have been forwarded to the COs
I went for a walk and found some ALs and some dinner. Along the way, I visited this EC.Answers sent to CO. I feel like every major city needs a few thousand of these little gardens!Definitely learned some things here.TCTEC
Visited this earthcache during a caching trip to South Australia chasing specific challenge targets with other easy types to boost the numbers. Inspected garden at GZ, took a few photos and submitted answers to CO.
I was already out for the evening, having attended a nearby even and found a few other caches, when this cache jumped up on my raider. Given how close it was, I could not resist stopping bast to gather the required information asked for by the Cache Owner. After quick study of ground zero, I soon had a likely set of answers that I would send off to the CO. This was an enjoyable Earth Cache, and the location was definitely worthy of this cache.Find #10581, at 08:55 pmTFTC
What an interesting little rain garden! I quite liked this; data gathered and answers sent to CO.Thanks!
Exploring Adelaide with gastank2 and earning my South Australia souvenir. Great way to add some natural beauty to the city. Thanks for the earthcache.
Went for a bike ride into the city and had already read a couple of earth caches to see what they were about and noticed this garden as we were passing so made the observations required.
Very cute urban Earthcache. I really enjoyed it.Adelaide day nr 5...City tour by public transport, o'bahn ride included.I'm logging this Earthcache as my 10603 find. Many thanks I_J for a placement.
I have to admit to walking past this at first, as I was expecting something larger. I was also on the other side of the street though! This is a good initiative, it would be nice to see in more places. Very good to have a different type of earthcache as well!Answers sent, tftc
I've stopped here before but must have completely forgotten to send in my answers! I parked nearby on a hot Friday evening and wandered over to the Central Markets for dinner and a browse, and Chookster and I did a couple of caches and a nearby Ad Lab on our way back to the car. (Well, I did the Ad Lab, Chookster's not quite convinced yet!) This is a nice spot, I like this part of the city. It'll be interesting to see the changes after the redevelopment of the old pub.TFTC I_J
Now the 2024 LEAP Year Mega in S. A. is over, cleaning up as many caches in the area as possible! These gardens are important in cities for their usefulness and aesthetics. Answers sent, hope the beautiful pub here remains. Thanks I_J for your fantastic efforts and for contributing to this great game for myself and others to enjoy
Geoturtle37 and I are taking a few days to get back home after attending the Feb 29th Mega in South Australia. This isn't a cache that was on our list but as we were close by, we took the detour. We have never seen anything like this before. Definitely one of those new things that caching introduced us to. Thanks for placing the cache for all to enjoy.
I love the new places that caching takes us and shows us. This was one of those. It is a shame that there aren't more of these around if they work the way they say they do. Thank you for showing us this. A favourite for me.
Watawieh from Norfolk Island South Pacific.Fantastic idea for the city I am visiting Adelaide this week to attend The Great Leap Forward mega. Found during my mega adventures while having mega fun with deanside TeamAstro Found & logged using Cachly for iOS
I do like to experience a different EC style and this was one, thanks. Answers have been sent.At midday I headed to the city and parked in a pay and display slot for 2 hours and hit the city trails. Reckon I managed 20 Ad Lab stages and about 12 real caches. An early start with work this morning, in the local bakery before 0600 collecting food for colleagues and delivering just after 7. A whole load of vehicle refuelling was next on the cards and some modest networking and meeting new folks. When all that was done a quick meeting then into the city for a bite of some of the many riches available caching-wise. Picked off a few Ad Lab stages when possible and targeted the Virtuals and Earthcaches mostly. Thanks to all SA cache hiders for your efforts and maintenance.
As a once in a lifetime holiday, this year we are traveling for 7 weeks to Vietnam, Bali, Australia and New Zealand. In Australia we meet Ellen Sch and MrVon sr and Ingsve to visit these last two countries, so here we cache together. We signed the log with N4. Now we have solved many caches so we have a large number of solved coordinates. But we are interested in all types of caches, so if you receive a log, it means that we have visited your cache. We haven't quite decided where we're going, but we'll probably let the weather decide for us. We want warmth because in Norway it is now freezing. We will stay for about 2 weeks in Australia and 2 weeks in New Zealand and we will end the trip with the Mega event in Adeleide on 29 February. So thank you very much to all of you who make it possible for us to travel around finding caches. On March 6, we set course for Norway again. There are extremely nice people everywhere and we are welcomed, we thank you very much. Thanks to our cache friends for good company on the trip. Now has Ellen Sch, MrVon sr and Insve started on their jurney home to Norway so we now sign logs with our nick.
Decided to get down to Adelaide for a few days as part of the Great Leap Forward Mega event. The general target was EarthCaches, Virtuals and Adventure Labs with plenty of other finds along the way.Interesting stuff!TFTC!
6 months ago, during a frenzy, we said to ourselves "why not going to the mega in Adelaide for the leapday". From scratch we moved on to preparing an 18-day project in Australia. Our objectives are simple, visit a small part of this immense continent while validating a few caches. There are so many caches (impossible to do everything) that we will select. Our plan will allow us to visit Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Mount Gambier and finish in Adelaide for the famous Mega.During our stay we will log PestiHoot for Pestinette and Blackhoot.During our 5 days in Adlade, we visited the centre and around while following the caches and labs. We resolved some mysteries before our trip. We made some great discoveries and great experiences. Thanks to the caches we visited many sites evoking Australian culture and history. Thanks for the cache and the discovery of beautiful or original spotsAnswers send by BlackHoot
**Today**Leap Day has arrived! Today myself, DSD, Muppet95 and pantspeople teamed up for a whole day of fun! With the mega event opening up at 10am, we decided to spend the morning cleaning out the city as much as we could. 8-12pm was on foot walking around the city, successfully finding two webcams, more virtuals + ECs than we could count and whatever physical caches we could grab on the way! Afterwards, we spent some time at the mega venue doing all the labs + getting goodies & refreshments to get out of the sun for a while! The afternoon was spent driving from street to street picking up as many epic caches on our list as we could, caching until we were exhausted! Thanks to all the COs -**This Cache**These rain gardens are a fantastic idea and a cool feature to learn about during our stroll through the city streets today! We actually saw a couple of these in the streets around GZ too! Great idea for an Earthcache, something a bit different to the usual. pantspeople sent our answers off on behalf of the group & my pic is attached TFTEC
Found during a somewhat spontaneous and impromptu trip to Adelaide for 'The Great Leap Forward' Mega Event. Made the most of the unique opportunity and had a very memorable experience! Teamed up with Loci612, DARKSIDEDAN and pantspeople. Thanks to all Cache Owners for their contribution to the game.Stopped in at this Earthcache. An interesting spot here. TFTEC
Thanks for the cache and the Adventure. ?? Found while at the mega in South Australia.Loci612 will send the answers for us both. A unique EC. Phots with my log.

After 16 years of caching the time has come to tick off a mega. After arriving late last night into Adelaide I was up early with a mission to collect as many cache types as were available today. I headed into town before the event in the hope to pick up the web cam caches and a sprinkling of others to set me up for the rest of the day. Finding a safe place to park I was soon at ground zero and the prize was quickly obtained. Now off to enjoy more of what Adelaide has to offer and tick a few boxes along the way.A big thanks to the cache owner for making this available to be found.Cheers
Nice EC and something different to the typical geology-focused earthcaches. Enjoyed learning about this small bit of green space and how it helps improve the city. Answers have been sent to the CO. Photo attached with the rain garden. Cheers --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------In the spirit of reconciliation we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country on which we geocache throughout Australia and their long lasting, and ongoing connections to land, sea and community. We (the pants people) pay our respects to Traditional Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
I had never geocached in South Australia before, and with a Mega event on offer, I thought I would pop in to my neighbours for the day. Took the first flight in from Melbourne and the last flight out. Got back to Melbourne just before midnight of this leap day 2024.My plan was to walk Adelaide collection as many types of possible, oldies, Virtuals, Earthcaches, and most importantly, my first Webcam. From the airport to the event, collecting caches on the way. Then, he chatted with friends at the Mega before walking to the heart of Adelaide. The city was busy, and I bumped into a number of geocachers, my locals, interstate cachers, and at the webcam, a Polish group of geocachers. Cheated on the way back to the event and took public transport, but did walk the 5 kilometres back to the airport for my return flight home.I was pleased that I got at least 1 of every type, most of the oldies I wanted, and walked over 20 kilometres. Maybe I should have had a sports watch on recording the steps. Thanks to everyone for a great. Thanks for the cache, I & J.HunterPS. Logging without permission but message sent. PPS. Quick permission received.
Catching up on logging a few finds whilst in Adelaide for the MegaLogged without permission. Answers yet to be submitted But their coming! Many thanx to I_J for an interesting EarthCache
The Leap Day Mega was a great excuse to come down from Queensland and weve had a busy time exploring Adelaide and surrounds cache by cache. Meeting up with friends old and new, we sometimes cached with them and sometimes alone but always had a great time. Although I have been to Adelaide before, this trip has shown me so many new and interesting places as Ive chased LGAs, oldies, challenges, interesting D/T combinations, rarer cache types and favourites. Thanks to all COs for placing and maintaining these caches for everyone to enjoy.
GC9H4C5 Wright Street Rain GardenA group of us are down from Darwin and Brisbane in preparation of the leap year event. Today we head from Mannum to Adelaide picking up various caches. To save space in the logs we have signed as BOLD7. Was meant to be BDLD7 but something got lost in translation. Having a lovely time exploring Adelaide Answers sent in by TeamARF TFTC I_J
After a long day, the BOLD07 were weaving our way through Adelaide on our way to our accommodation. After a feed in Chinatown, grabbed a few caches and this was one stop. These rain gardens are unique and well integrated into the urban setting. In my short time in Adelaide I did come across a few of these in the dry. Would like to see them in action but I understand it's winter that brings rain to South Aust. I'm unlikely to stay this long as my Qld visa would have expired and immigration would have long deported another piece of Qld vermin. But I did get some answers away to the CO for confirmation. TFTEC I_J and an insight to stormwater management in Adelaide.
Out and about collecting more smilies. Signed with Leap mega team nickname BOLD7. Thanks for hiding and maintaining the cache.Answers for Team BOLD7 were sent by TeamARF.
Out and about with sir_spectre grabbing a few caches prior to the Mega this week.Answers sent by sir_spectreThanks to I_J from mogni
Found/solved with Mogni. We came and looked at the rain garden. Not the first one of this type i have seen, it seems the councils like installing this type of gardens. Answers sent in.
It was a busy afternoon for me and children as we saw there were so many caches in the cbd. It was good to gain some new knowledge along the way. Thanks to the owner for arranging this cache. Photo was loading upside down, so I gave up :p
I had an appointment downtown, so I decided to take a walk, trying to find geocaches. No problems, finding and collecting the answers. Which have been sent.TFTC!
Thanks I_J for hiding this cache and giving us some fun chasing it down This was find number 928 for us
Continuing on my South Australian adventure. Next, I came to this earthcache. What an interesting concept. I gathered the required answers and took a few photos before continuing on my way. TFTC
Together with Travelser I'm going Down Under. We are driving around with a motorhome. Started on the 17th September in Cairns. Our plan is driving.along the eastcoast down. Then in the south on to Adelaide and from there ending the 31th October in Alice Springs.During our trip we of course search for several caches. Most of them brought us to very nice spots, like this one.All the CO's, and in this case I_J, thanks for bringing us here and give our trip a special accent.
On my roundtrip along Australia with Oopie we are douing always some caches.Today we ware on the way in Adelaide and and we did a few nice caches. So we make the answers together and with your permission IOopie wil sent the answers.CO thanks for bringing us on this nice place and make this cache.
After a wander around Chinatown looking for caches, I made my way here to look at this Earthcache. Often earthcaches are about rocks, which I dont know a lot about, although Im learning. This earthcache is much more engaging for me, and I really enjoyed it.My other main hobby is scuba diving, and we divers unfortunately see the negative impacts of poor water management, mainly in the form of plastic and other man-made pollutants that we see around rivers. These lovely gardens are not only attractive, but they have a more important role to play for our environment. Such an excellent initiative. Thanks I_J for bringing me here and highlighting this area and for bringing me here to learn and enjoy.
Found it
With a morning job being cancelled, I had the morning free so decided to get two souvenirs.
I came here looking for Mr Wright, I found a garden before him. Answers sent to CO.

Had been looking at doing this one for a while now but getting into town these days is a little problematic and till now there has been a lack of imperative. Imperative has now been solved and today had to head into town for an errand and after that was done decided to swing by and complete this earthcache. Parked close by and wandered to the listed coordinates. Gathered some information and took the obligitory photo.
Answers sent and now logging the find. Interesting location and application.

Found in my lunch break today. Have been here at night with the monkey after work and naturally haven’t noticed what was here. Tiny yet impressive. Forwarding answers in a few minutes with photo. Thanks I&J for bringing me here. Cheers !
I was in the area doing my biannual tea shopping expedition on Compton Street when I came across this little rain garden. I was overcome by muggles at another nearby cache so decided to give up on that and go earth caching instead. I soon had the answers I required and sent them off to the CO. TFTC!
Was in Adelaide for 3 days this week for a work meeting in the CBD. Luckily had a bit of free time to track down a handful of Earthcaches, my favourite type of cache.

Southern Autumn adventure Day 24. Blackwood SA trip Day 5. I decided to head into the city to walk around getting some of the puzzles and multis I have been avoiding for some time now. The walking seemed never ending and some caches sent me the wrong way. It was not entirely successful, but some I could bot do today, I managed to revisit on Saturday. I must say there still seems to be a huge numbers of caches in the city to be found and i will have things to do on future visits.
I find it interesting that once you are pointed at one of these, I managed to see them all over the place. I hope all the effort makes a big difference to the streets and the water. Answers sent.

After visiting the central market and while enjoying our smoothies we went here to see the rain garden. Interesting topic! I just had to do with it in my home town in Germany. TFTC
An interesting location, wouldn't ever have known about it if not for this Earthcache placement. Answers will be sent to the CO now. Tftc
Stopped by after work to view the garden.
Huge amount of rubbish in them today. Doesn't seem to be anyone cleaning them up.
CITO time!

TFTEarthCache I&J, and thanks for permission to log.
Monday was a public holiday in Victoria, so cat' and I took off Friday to make it extra special.
Our extra long weekend adventure revolved around using a CITO event in Adelaide as a good enough excuse for a road trip.
Caching our way there and back from North Central Victoria through as many counties new to us as possible, we also targeted challenge caches and anything that would help us qualify for them.
Leaving Tatura early Friday morning, we headed South and followed the coast up from Warnambool to stay in Millicent that night, Adelaide on Saturday, and back through the guts to Edenhope (Victoria) Sunday night to be back home for rostered work 3:00pm on Monday.
All up we picked up over 100 very targeted caches including two of the last grandfathered webcam caches in the country. [^]

Correct answers was the verdict from the CO, so dalerious and I can log away .
We are so glad we picked this Earthcache , as we felt so good seeing the benefits that this gorgeous little piece of paradise in the middle of the city, is doing for the environment .
From little things, big things grow.
Thank you I&J for bringing us to this very special place .
The long weekend in Victoria had us planning a trip to Mount Kosciuszko, but there was no available accommodation in Jindabyne, so that plan was thwarted. Our South Australia and Western Victoria trip was then brought forward very quickly, and a plan was hatched that had a complete and varied list of things we were looking to achieve. It was tentative, as the list kept growing exponentially as it tends to do with us .
The map that we created with the caches we were hunting was broad, and a lot of miles were travelled to find them, but we are definitely not complaining.
The country we drove through was spectacular .
We left Tatura early Friday morning, not sure how much we could achieve before heading to Millicent to our booked accommodation, and then onto Adelaide after that.
We still can't believe that we found almost every cache on that extensive list. We even got to attend a CITO in Adelaide. How cool was that.
We had an awesome 4 days away enjoying this beautiful country of ours.

A quirky and interesting spot to stop in a very urban part of Adelaide city.
This little garden is definitely worth highlighting, and displays an opportunity to protect our environment in an inner city area.
We were very happy to have this highlighted through Geocaching and this earth cache.
We have sent our answers to the CO.

A neat EC showcasing water management strategies on a small scale.
Back in Adelaide for the Tour Down Under and adding a few new smiley faces along the way.
What a year Sandyofthesea and I have had. We kitted out the Prado and took off from Perth, Western Australia at the start of April 2022 to travel more of Australia using geocaching as a guide to see the sights. We started with the Nullabour, Eyre and York Peninsulas, the Riverlands, visited family in Victoria and then back in SA it got cold. Flinders and the Oodnadatta Track was amazing and we finally warmed up in Dalhousie Springs. The Alice beckoned and then a change of plan and we ended up tackling the Tanami Track to the Kimberley and Bungles Bungles. Territory Day in Darwin was unhinged - please try and do it! The Gulf, the coast and the car breaker ‘Old Tele Track’ to the top of Cape York. This is a must but it’s not easy! Eventually made it to Brisbane to get some fixes to the car….. let’s see where we end up.
I_J, I found Wright Street Rain Garden today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

Spent the day in Adelaide geocaching with my mate Curious_J. We had a great time and found quite a few different types of caches. All-in-all a very successful day although it way quite hot.
I have now sore feet which is to be expected after about 25000 steps - looking forward to a nice cool beer

Out and about caching around Adelaide, trying to find caches that will help me get a challenge cache back home. This is one of those.
I quite like this idea of the rain garden - we don't have any of these at home.
Thanks for the walk around the city and this earthcache!

Back in Adelaide after almost 3 years, I was looking forward to enjoying the new ECs, always my favourite.
Great to discover this rain garden, there should be one in every area of town, especially with the current weather.
Answers sent to the owner.
Thank you I&J for this earthcache which was much appreciated, always thirsty for more.
EC # 890 of 4408 caches

Rain gardens are great, should be more of them. There are quite a few in my suburb, but they are lacking the finishing touch. This one in Write street looks the part. I stopped by this one on the way to Freddo's morning rocking event in the city. Answers sent and accepted, here is me looking fresh before helping my son move house.
Thanks for the cache I&J, nice work. Thanks for the great supporting information. Find #7420 at 9.22am

Mr CNQ had busy week visiting Adelaide, conferencing during the day and catching up with interstate colleagues at night, some caching was wedged into early morning walks and this one was visited last Thursday at 6:15am. Interesting and useful concept for the city, thanks for organising this informative earthcache I & J.
A very quick approval from the CO/EO after submitting my answers!
I live in the hills, and so rain gardens are a bit of a new thing for me, but they they seem to be popping up all over now. Or is it just that it has taken geocaching to get me to notice them? The example highlighted here you could easily miss as you blitz down Wright Street. It doesn’t help that the real estate sign for the development here has been plonked right in front of the explanation board.
Very light rain starting as I arrived at the listed coordinates, so all those plants in my photo are about to go to work.
Thanks for this Earthcache I_J.

Staying around the corner and noticed this earthcache so headed around, grabbed the answers, took the photo and sent to the CO.
Many thanks to I_J for placing and maintaining Wright Street Rain Garden. I was here and this is my find 10250.

Visiting Adelaide and spent today traipsing around the centre of the city exploring and caching. It's good that some work to tackle these problems is being undertaken. Answers sent. TFTC I_J.
I had a few hours to kill before commitments... so what better to do then find a few caches?
Taking a stroll around part of the CBD. Followed by Unley, Parkside, Frewville, Glenside Hyde Park and Goodwood.
I never would have known this was here if it wasn't for geocaching... which is why I love it.
A great lesson taught here. A favourite point allocated.
Thanks I_J for this EarthCache.
This cache brings Goldy's total find count to 1577 on the 26th of August 2022.

The usual Wednesday Wander deferred to a Friday as other commitments restricted all members of the group to go out on our usual day.
With the honour of having a Mule with us for a few hours the Adder met the Starfish in Hindmarsh before picking up Anymules from the city.
A number of different types were targeted, mostly newer hides since our last attempt at clearing out around the city.
As always, all caches were visited and signed by all members of the group or each member had a part to play in retrieving the prize.
All caches were in good condition unless noted otherwise.
A missed log from 19th January while on an evening run with the starfish, Rat and a Mule. Answers for the group were sent to the CO at the time.
Thank you for the cache I & J Find Number 9774

More and more countries are now opening up for traveling. I took the opportunity to make a short trip. To visit some places, I’ve been visiting a long time ago. To see if anything has changed but also to find some caches. Maybe also meet some fellow geocachers. You see, the world consists of two kinds of people: Your friends, and the ones you haven’t met yet. And I was lucky to extend my list of friends during my trip.
I had a short stop here in Adelaide 10 years ago, on my train trip from Perth to Sydney. Now I wanted to explore some more of the city. I walked around a lot and found some caches and met some wonderful people.
I studied the genius structure and my answers are sent to CO for evaluation.

Found this morning on a walk around caching it’s a shame it has so much rubbish in it at the moment but I guess at least it’s doing it’s job for the storm water! TFTC I_J

This Anzac Day weekend, jesswrigley and I were back in Adelaide whilst attending a wedding. We took the opportunity to catch up with family and friends introducing our newest member of *Team Warren*, and where we could, we visited a few geocaches that I had either missed during my residency, or new geocaches published in the last 1.5 years.
This morning, our main event was a wedding recovery BBQ in Kensington Gardens Reserve. We decided to make a stop in Adelaide CBD to claim Chinatown's virtual cache, before then needing to kill some time around Hazelwood Park / Burnside.
In the afternoon, I had some free time to find a few geocaches solo, so concentrated on geocaches requiring the fishing TOTT around the Adelaide park lands. I started out on the western side, before travelling around and stopping off around Bowden-Brompton, and then heading through the city towards the southern park lands.
I remember visiting the Thebarton rain gardens and learning of the water re-use at that location, before then spotting these rain gardens on this side of Adelaide's CBD. I didn't think an EarthCache with a similar lesson could be placed so close as one another, but in any case, it was good to analyse a few different aspects of these gardens. The nearby sign was analysed, and answers collected to the required questions, before then sent to the CO. Thanks I & J for the EarthCache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Ducked out at lunchtime to grab a cache and slowly fill in missing values my month / day grid. The answers to the questions were easily observed and the answers sent off for confirmation. Thanks for an interesting earthcache!
Lovely to find something like this with an explanation of why it is there & what it does tftc
A weekend trip to Adelaide with the family and I got time to do a little caching as well. We took the tram down to Glenelg and walked around doing some labs and some caches. This was a fantastic earth cache and one that I really enjoyed, thank you. The way the council is using the storm water straight up is a good idea, I hope that it is working the way it was intended. I thought it was pretty cool. was pretty cool.
Thank you for this cache and a favourite point for this.
