We are now in Dunedin on our trip. It is very beautiful here with many great buildings. We enjoy the surroundings and the great views.Today the weather is fantastic and we decide to take a leisurely drive along the coast of the peninsula. We hope to see some albatross and seals.Of course, the Labcaches Tradis Virtuals and Earthcaches are also searched for and logged. Many thanks to all owners and greetings from the Moorhelmi from Germany
Found on a trip down south to the Dunedin Mega with trayc.gsigned as MrMuggle or MM to save room..Thanks to the COs for all your caches. We had a blast. TFTC
Back home in Taranaki after a massive 5 days at the Dunedin Mega with MrMuggleNZ and its time to start logging my findsall 226 of themso wish me luck. Only 2 DNFs the whole time we were here so thats a testament to the dedication of the local cache owners and their maintenance prior to this event. Day 4Had to stop nearby here and gather info for another cache so grabbed this one too while here..which was just as well because I couldnt get to the final for the other one as the road will flood out later today and it was closed! Good spot. TFTC
Collecting solved puzzles and completed challenges on a hill route into the city. Down for the mega. Please excuse the generic log. Thanks for placing each and every on of your caches, including those I can't solve or can't find.
Down in Dunedin for the Mega. Great to be back for another Mega 12 years after NZ's first Mega here in 2012. Finding a few caches with Boxhill and having a few laughs on the way. Thanks to the team for putting on a great Mega weekend, and also to all the COs for placing and maintaining the caches.TFTC i-gotit
Back in our hometown for a weekend of MEGA adventures.Weather has changed dramatically since yesterday but we will soldier on TFTC.
My first Mega in the 3080 days since I began caching in 2016. Missed out on my first one in Auckland due to covid. And my 2nd will be in Rotovegas next year. A drizzly day, I don't like copy and pasting, but I think it's a case of having to this weekend. Guwapo is the driver, and I'm telling him where to go. Pleased rain isn't too heavy at the moment.
Parking is tough along these caches, so thankfully this was a nice consolation.
We came down to Dunedin for the great Mega event - which was really good ! - and had had several days either side , for caching up either side of the harbour and other caches around about . It was a shame that the High cliff road has been subject to the weather patterns and heavy rain and blocked the road . T he Weather either side of the mega was reasonable, but both the saturday and the sunday were rather wet . . sadly. there are so many caches all around this area so even after 5-6 days of caching there are still hundreds of caches to be found . With so many cachessome get lost in a bit of a fog . We took nothing and left nothing here .
#15,307. Flew into Dunedin today to attend the Mega event this weekend. I am geocaching with geobuddy Infoferret. After picking up the rental car we headed out out to grab as many as we could today while the weather was still warm and sunny. We ended up with a good haul of 47 caches. Heading out to get some puzzle finals on the Peninsula. Yep we made the mistake of going to that cache with a high tide. So thanks i-gotit for this consolation. Nice quick find and sign here.
Day 1 of the visit to Otago for the Dunedin MEGA. Travelling with GSEL and enjoying the good weather while it lasted! No problems I remember with this find, TFTC i-gotit No 14899 for me.
Day 10 of our Enzed adventures with Robmc. We arrived in Dunedin yesterday and today we hired bikes to ride the Otago Vine including a ferry ride across the bay.We managed to collect a lot of the puzzles we had prepared for and I think we only had a couple of DNFs. It rained, the sun shone, the wind blew, it was calm - the whole gamut really. Thanks for contributing to the fun i-gotit
Day ten of our epic New Zealand Adventure with The Morris. We have at last arrived in Dunedin. We spent today riding the Otago Vine clockwise, collecting caches as we came across them.Stopped at Port Chalmers for lunch then caught the ferry to Portobello.Mostly a nice day except for a bit of rain just out of Portobello (but we soon dried off).Spent a bit of time at the watering trough before grabbing this cache. It was still raining lightly. Thanks, Robmc.
Found with NZDi on our southern adventure heading towards the Geo Toroa. Our schedule didn't have us arriving in Dunedin until Thursday, but a quicker than expected trip through The Catlins meant we are here earlier than expected. Today is our 41st wedding anniversary, so we started the day off with breakfast at the Vogel Street Cafe which we totally recommend. After that NZDi wanted to visit the Botanical Gardens where we picked up a couple of caches. Then we headed out to Toroa Head to see if we could see an albatross or two. On the way we picked up a couple of caches, but soon realised, if we stopped for them all, we would never get to the albatross colony. This was the second of two we limited ourselves to.We had to settle for the consolation as the sun and moon were not aligned to let us find the troll.TFTC i-gotit
Another day in New Zealand another day of exploring, driving an geocaching. After we arrived yesterday in Dunedin and had a short walk through the city (including the first log of a 11/2000 cache, we wanted to discover the Dunedin peninsula today.Unfortunately weather was not close as good as yesterday and we started a little later, but still managed to leave the camping ground before 11.After a few km onto the island there have been 2 caches on the bucket list, a tradi and a letterbox. letterboxes are not so common in Germany, so I wanted to take this one in the stats. Unfortunately at arrival on the cords i noticed that this is not a typical one but a kind of multi and we did not want to spend the time in the beginning of the day for a more time consuming search, especially after the last log was. DNF, so we skipped it for good.Next stop was at the Albatross Center, where we not only had a look in their small info Center and a good cup of coffee but also managed to do the letter box GC and also the virtual. And of course we had a look at the beach where the blue penguins are breeding and studied the albatrosses flying around, really majestic how they glide through the wind. After that we approached the Lab cache round at the fort, interesting that this place can be visited so easily, difficult to find any similar spots in Germany. It was quite muddy over there so that after stage 2 I was heading on alone (I had the right boots for that). However just before stage 4 there was a small lake of rain water at the outlet of the 100 meter tunnel, this was even too deep for my shoes and I had to quit the Lab cache. Luckily the tradi in the tunnel could be found easily and even they recommend you to have bring a torch, a proper mobile torch will also do its job. Then we cruised around the island, quite narrow and hilly for a campervan, but we managed to conquer the (gravel) streets. After being back at the camping ground we Took a long walk along the beach and manages another 3 caches on the way. One of them with a new D/T rating for me.So a Great day again and also again 4 cache types and some new achievements on the statsTFTC to all CO!
Took some time to find because first attempt was without the hint. With the hint it became obvious. Thanks for the cache!
Out on a cyclocache ride up the cyclepath from Andersons Bay to Portobello and back. Like AbSoCa I stopped at exactly the right spot to make a quick find and sign. Thanks i-gotit.
On route to a wildlife cruise and stopped for a bite to eat. Checked for caches and this was one of 2 close to us. A short walk and cache was soon found, thank you for placing
We are staying at a holiday park for a couple of nights as we pass through to the Catlins. This morning was beautiful so after my hubby replaced my brake pads (smoked them in Waimate) I was off along the smooth path to Portobello and back.Managed to stop right on GZ - TFTC
Could be a number of posts - luckily we stopped exactly at the right one while biking past.
Had a great day today cycling from Tunnel Beach all the way up to Larnach Castle. Picked up many caches along the way.Quick find at gz, tftc!
This is written as consolation for a different cache, but for me it was a nice find after pulling over to look at a Letterbox and finding it was a multi. Tftc!
A little time to spare in Dunedin so we headed out to try for some caches around the coast. Nice to have some sunshine although the wind was pretty strong.
Many thanks for the hide i-gotit

Nice easy peasy find. Staying in Dunedin for a few days picking up some caches around the place tftc
Spending a few days in Dunedin on trip to this end of the country. A fantastic day for a trip along the harbour and retrieval of a few caches.
Followed the hint and soon had it. Thanks for the cache.

On may way to the Pinguin , saw only one and he was far away, I found the box.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Making our way back to town after a busy day on the Peninsula caching and sightseeing. Thanks for the quick find on this beautiful coast .
An easy find after several disappointments due to the road works. We will come back. TFTC
We could have used a consolation cache on our previous visit to that other cache, but today we had our timing right, and after a successful visit, this cache was a quick easy find. TFTC
In Dunedin for a few days for U13 football tournament. Even though Mr12 has a broken arm we still made the trip to support the team...and Mr12, with a bubble wrapped arm, even managed to play a couple of the games....
Games all over so we came out for an afternoons drive in the sunshine....boys not up to much walking to just a putter around to admire the views...and find the odd cache or two. This being one. Thanks.

Mr VDH56 and I were delivering pamphlets into school for my work on a lovely clear morning so I suggested we stopped for a cache on the way to Portobello. Cache soon found.
On our way back from delivering leaflets, P&Vee suggested this cache. Found it no problem. TFTC.
No need for a consolation cache but I logged it anyway and replaced it carefully, TFTC
Too much water for the other one but thus was nice and easy and nice to watch the ducks.
Easy find once I was at the right hint object.
Thanks for the cache, i-gotit

A nice quick find thanks. The road was quiet and the parking close by.
Ms_KR and I are on a wee South Island break. A day in Dunedin with good conditions all day! Too many dnf though.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

The last cache for the day on a quick saunter out to the peninsula road. No worries at this cache - not even the persistent muggle threat that I'd been experiencing all day on this lovely spring day (yes, I know it's late February). Found it quickly then turned around and went back the way I came. Cheers!
Missed the other cache, will come back with the kids! But yes, lovely consolation prize, TFTC!
Out with NZ Bozzy finding caches that neither of us have located previously. Mostly they are higher D/T or newer caches. Plus I needed a couple more to finish my drivers provisional licence challenge.
Quick find after the more difficult Peninsula Troll. Pleased to grab a couple of smiles with only one stop. Lovely drive around here now.
Thanks for the cache i-gotit.

We had stopped to find the cache nearby and since we were stopped decided to find this one too.
We had a low tide today.
Out caching with Kiscardi

Bit of spare time this morning, so grabbed a couple of caches. Thanks Bitsprayer
Perfect weather to head out for a pedal to pick up a few harbourside caches. Quickly found & replaced with no one around to disturb me. TFTC
An early morning start from the hospital started a luvly day taking a walk to the cache, passing the first one by for obvious reasons and disappointed a [cache](https://coord.info/GC2HHDR) was left unmaintained for so long after it's initial DNF. My consolation as making an easy walk past and grab of this cache with minimal effort caching in Goldilocks weather. A smattering of cyclists announced their approach with friendly dings on their bells and 'good mornings' but a pushy road racer buzzed passed. Surely at 35km/hr+ they should be cycling on the road! with the spare metre from the white line. We had less room on our local country roads back at the Ponderosa. Cache was found at the overemphasized hint making it a quick find and returned the dry goods just as hidden under duff. 9.4Km/2hr from the hospital for the Rambler. RTP 325pt Thanks for this consolation cache.
We had our timing wrong for the cache just along the cycle/walkway so this was definitely a consolation cache for us. We were making this one more difficult than it needed to be when the CO came cycling past and stopped for a chat. A few hours later when we returned, happy to have our timing right for the other cache, this cache was no longer the consolation cache. Found with Spoonz2
This cache has the perfect name because we did just that: not read the description, and arrived at high tide for the cache before it. We were then caught red-handed at this cache site as the CO came pedalling by just as we were starting to think we couldn't find it. How often does that happen? Found with Debsnz. thanks i-gotit.
Having found the cache mentioned by the CO (a long time ago but not logged for some reason) I went for this one while on a bike trip to lunch at MacAndrew bay with Mrs KC.
Easy find and all in good nick.
