Puffed my way up to this cache all the way thinking how easy the walk back will be as my motivation. Spotted the cairn and the cache. All good at GZ. Fav for a nice spot. Thanks to grugthethug for the fun and the adventure.
12:56Well, this was certainly a way to work off a bit of the morning tea n0w0rries and I had just consumed up the road at the George Tindale Memorial Gardens. It got the heart pumping, that's for sure. Thanks, grugthethug. A few more rocks were added to the pile.#8938
My objective for today was simple, to find my geocache find number 6666. However, I had a number of other side tasks too. To collect more clues for the 'Nice Day for a Cache' and the '13th Cache'. To find more caches to help with challenges I am working on. Specifically, oldies, multicaches, a DT of 2.5/2.5, and of course an Event and CITO on this month and on the 25th. A good day out with no DNFs, 4 Lab locations, and 26 geocache finds.I carried up 3 rocks to add to the collection. Thanks for the cache, Grug The Thug.Hunter
Since we were passing by it seemed like the perfect opportunity to visit your cairn.nirgalagrin and I both placed rocks atop the pile.Thank you for building this cairn and sharing the location with us.
I'm home for Easter and thought that it would be nice to go for a drive up into the Dandenongs. I've been trying to solve a puzzle, and came up with a good answer, but the Geochecker didn't like it Instead, I came to find a few others in the area. It was lovely to go for a walk during golden hour. I really should come up here more often. Thanks for the cache, grugthethug
A fun arvo stroll up the hill from home. Easy to locate. No pen in my pocket to write on the booklet so Ill have to come back and re-find it
A pleasant Sunday afternoon outing in the hills to find a few caches after dropping a family member to an event nearby. Kind of an odd spot for a rudimentary cairn, I thought. I had the tracks to myself today, not seeing a soul between the parking further south and the servo at Tremont. A nice quick find. Cache and contents in good dry condition. TFTC grugthethug
A lovely little walk up the track here and a pleasant little off track detour to find the neat cairn and the neat cache near the neat cairn. TFTC
Geo-Son and Geo-Dad decided to go on a drive up into the hills to get some of Geo-Son's driving hours up and grab a cache or two while there. After finding a car park, we bush bashed our way to the distinguished path, and made our way towards GZ. After running in circles with the GPS, we decided to go off geo-senses and the cache was quickly located. Tftc grugthethug
In the vicinity to find a newly published cache and decided I had time for a stroll to collect some others on the map.
I love the spot and sentiment behind the cairn. Lockdowns were tough!

TFTC all in dry and safe condition. Nice easy find - how would you even find this!
We found this cache today on a quick 3 Cache Midday Jaunt Around Ferntree Gully. It has been a while since this one came out and we had been wanting to find it all of that time, especially since it was just down the hill a little from one of our own caches but it just never tied up right to any other caching trips. Today, we were on route to maintain one of our own caches that needed some work and made sure we put in the small divert to collect it. A nice cairn starting at GZ and with a bit more work, it should soon top Mount Dandenong. Our 43rd Grugthethug cache find to date. Thanks from D & HA B-A
Crustyvarmint and I called a halt to proceedings to have a much needed lunch break whilst eyeing off the cloudy, rainy weather fast coming in. One more cache we decided. This one was quickly and nicely found along with both Crustyvarmint and I taking turns to quickly and nicely fall over...ah dear, the bumps and bruises we suffer for the game eh? Cache logged, back to the car we trudged and homeward bound. TFTC
Today I came here with Redcb. We stopped and ate our lunch, by the roadside, before taking the short hike to GZ, where we quickly found the container.
Thanks grugthethug.
Thanks grugthethug.
What a great idea, and completely agree with the sentiment and purpose. The outdoors saved my sanity too during lockdowns. I might well go build my own cairn somewhere now! Thanks for the idea and the cache!!

Find #13747
I needed to find 3 caches today for a personal challenge I am working on, so headed up the hill for a bit of a stroll.
What is this cairn doing here? Cache found nice and quick.
Massive thanks go to grugthethug for placing this one.

Thanks GTT. A touching description and a great spot in the environment, particularly during lockdown. Giddy up
Out for a late arvo of caching with quiet1_au, this was next on the list. After q1 got rid of the leech which had hitched a ride from the previous cache, we slowly made our way up the hill (impressed you did this regularly during lockdown!!) Once there it was an easy find for q1 whilst GMelb added a rock to the cairn for our team.

A short drive - very short actually - to meet up with GJMMelb again. After ejecting a leech back into the bush that snuck a ride from the last cache (thankfully before it made a meal of me) we headed up the trail past a couple of muggles and their dogs (hmm... not sure if that's allowed?...) and on to GZ where I got lucky and found the cache in a typical spot. TFTC
Walking along the Tremont Hill track, this cache beckoned. It was found quickly and easily in its excellent hiding place.
I've been past here a good few times over the last 3 years (I do like this little track), but I usually don't have my phone on me for navigation. This time I did, and it was a quickish find.
Then went up one tree hill and along to Sherbrooke Forest, which seemed almost infested with wallabies - a nice state to be in, if somewhat unusual.
Thanks for the cache.

Thanks for bringing me to this location location. I love what you’ve done with the cairn.
It makes me want to start my own.

I needed some exercise so I parked near the bottom of Hughes St and walked up and up and up to find this cache. Definitely got my cardio in for today! I really enjoyed my stroll back down taking in the breathtaking views in the late afternoon.
I had a late start to the day today ..was it going to rain? Yes? No? Maybe? .. a glimpse of sunshine peeking out from the clouds gave me the encouragement I needed and I decided to attempt two nearby caches ..the main path to GZ was almost overgrown in places and the GPS was jumping around. I was pleased to see a geotrail emerge and it matched the hint .. it wasn’t until I was almost there that I observed the cairn. After signing the log I found a rock to add to the cairn .. I can only imagine what this cairn will be like a few years from now as more geocachers add their own rock. thanks Grugthethug for placing and maintaining the cache
A terrible couple of years for mankind. I find it rather interesting how it has changed lives, sometimes for worse, but also very much for the better.
I think we are mostly stronger for having got through it.
Thanks for bringing us here today by placing this cache, grugthethug

We wondered if there was actually going to be a cairn up here and why. We were not disappointed and even added to it's construction. A great cairn and for a great reason, sanity. It has been very tough for a lot of people and it is interesting to hear what people did to keep themselves going as best they could. Take care one and all. Thanks for the cache.

Great spot for a cache. Some partial views thru the tree to the west and a quick find here. Noice!!

After a good learner driver session at the Caribbean Gardens Business Park, we detoured home via this cache. It’s hot and still. Pretty good view too. We all need a space to reflect and have some down time.
We were away at Mount Beauty a couple of weeks ago and I picked up two river rocks from the beautiful upper Kiewa river near Bogong village. I‘ve added them to your cairn. Dropped a TB too.
TFTC and hope you are enjoying the holidays

Back at work for the year and a silver lining for working from home is the advantage of grabbing a lunch break cache in Mt D, which I really enjoy. A short hike up the hill, a quick find then I added to the cairn. Really hoping 22 sees an end to the pandemic as we know it. tftc

I finally sat down to eat dinner at 9:20 after a big day at work and an evening spent running around doing errands. Just as I bit into my leftover Christmas roast lamb I opened up my emails to see a cache had been posted three minutes ago! It was very close by and I contemplated leaving the food behind and driving straight here. However, given it was so late and the cache's distance from the road I decided to wait until Dad and I had both finished eating so that we could venture into the forest together.
On the quick drive here we checked the cache page numerous times, every time expecting to see a found it log pop up. We began to get very hopeful when we arrived and there were no other cars at the parking spot.
Up the hill we went and into the bushes, now to find this cairn! For some reason we were both expecting a small one and were hunting around for longer than we should have. Eventually at 10:05 Dad found it and we both laughed as we wondered how we had missed it for this long! You must've been on plenty of covid walks Grugthethug!
We added our own rocks to the pile, me a small one to fill a little gap, but Dad insisted on finding a "good one". As he picked out a perfect rock he accidentally unleashed a bull ant nest and his squeals into the night let me know that at least one ant wasn't too happy about his disturbances. He added the rock to the cairn and we found some bracken on the way home to soothe his stinging thumb.
As we were returning to the car we saw a light coming up the hill and met Horror.fan.jm on his way to the cache. Looking at his log he found it quicker than we did! It's always fun to meet another geocacher in the wild.
Thanks for the cache and adventure! We also loved the sentiment behind this cairn and had a stop to think about all the highs and lows we've been through over these last years. It's a solace to know we've been in it together.
