After catching up with friends over brunch at the Conservatory Caf, I decided that the weather was perfect for some caching. (Btw, the sweet potato fries were fantastic.)Did a couple of laps (of the shrubbery, not the pool) before spotting the cache.TFTC.
Cold, dark winters evening. I think I know what I needed to look for, but I couldnt spot it. Some of the bushes have been trimmed back, so it could be that, but more likely Bernie simply beating me again for now.
While I knew basically what I was looking for and where it would be, these can be tricky. After a while I decided it was too nice a day to be staying in the one spot and was just about to get back on the bike when I decided to have one last look. As so often happens, I then found it almost instantly.I had a moment of fear when I took the log away to sign it and couldn't find the attachment when I returned. Luckily the panic was short lived and it was soon enough back in place. TFTC
A Friday afternoon sojourn around Croydon with +Wife and EveTheStaffy. You evil man! On my first attempt, I missed the hide by mere millimetres. Take two was from the other end, and the cache was spied in less than a minute. Getting a grip on it to remove the log proved a bit tricky, but perseverance prevailed.
Can understand why - even with the hint - this is a D2.5.Spent ages poking around before having a swig of water, standing back and using some geo-nous. A systematic approach saved the day and I was soon signing the log from this very well camouflaged cache. TFTC
Well, Mrs Riddells to the rescue. Mr Riddells was doing a systematic search and apparently passed over it. Mrs Riddells was following close behind and spotted it in a place already looked at. Mr Riddells has been sacked from further searches for being slack! Thanks for the cache.
Was driving by and thought I'd try and snag an easy one; after searching for a while I was unable to find it.I'll have to return soon for another try.
Stood back and pondered where to start. Then began and after less than 30 seconds cache was in hand. signed log and carefully replaced. TFTC.
My this one was very tricky! Been here many times but with no luck. I was sure I was looking in the right spot but thats when I spotted the darn thing.TFTC Bernie.
Out for the day with ConnieandRick enjoying a stroll around this reserve, finding caches including this one as we go. This find could have taken a while, but my eyes soon picked up something familiar.
Out with TIZ13, this circuit was a nice walk at the end of our caching day. This one was a quick find for TIZ13, but I would have taken forever!
Found with icw who became sick of my chanting "I hate mirror bush". This environmental weed has the robustness of a zombie and is difficult to kill. We eradicated it from a corner of our land and it was seven years before the final seed sprouted and the last stump rotted and could be removed. However, today were trying to find a cache, which proved almost as difficult to find as zombies are to kill. Tftc.
After a lot of two and throwing through the blasted mirror bush another exotic and banned by some councils, I contacted someone and blow me down whilst reading their reply I just looked straight ahead and there it was. TFTC
Been here previously with no luck, but now the area has been pruned I had much more success
#1443 - My caching sensors must have paid off over the years, made this find very quickly! Some deep purples in the sky tonight, feels like Summer.Tftc
Previous finder. Walked by today and it’s still there. Difficulty level reduced due to hedge pruning.
Feels like a fantastic place to put it. I can't find it. But I'm not good at micros either.
Request that it is checked on.
Request that it is checked on.
This could have taken me forever. A methodical approach was the key. I had to go back to the car to get my tweezers to get the logbook out. All is well here. Thank you BernieH for placing and maintaining Croydon Memorial Pool for us to find today.
Geoson has an appointment nearby, and the weather was sunny but still cold. I quickly found three out of four. I was challenged by having two groundsmen working nearby. So unfortunately I was not successful today
Celebrations!!! 3rd time and we found it in less than 5 minutes!!!
We are so excited!! Made our day we finally got it!
Found with jackst2000

We had a choice of Ringwood or Croydon for an errand this morning. Croydon is the obvious choice as it is literally littered with caches thanks to Bernie’s lockdown!
I used to come here for school swimming. Lucky there’s no school swimming today as I’d probably be arrested if there was, given the amount of time spent examining the fence in detail!
Thanks for the cache BernieH

Thanks for the new log Bernie. Was in the area for a work meeting at the local cafe. Before heading home I decided to complete the nearby multi and this one to try and clear the park with smileys.
I had an idea of what I was looking for but it proved evasive. I only had a short time so thought I would try a systematic approach, which did the trick. Nicely camouflaged!

Second time still couldn’t find it! Maybe 3rd time lucky! Met some lovely ppl whilst looking tho…
Nice, sneaky find after a bit of a search. Logbook is getting full, but otherwise in good condition. TFTC
This cache took me longer to find than it should have. After searching randomly, using geo-senses, applying geo-logic, and other random things, I decided to search methodically. This was the better approach and I soon spotted the cache.
Walking around the park today, brought us to this location. While pretending to be on my phone, to let the muggles pass by I spied the treasure. Thanks BernnnieH for another smile on our map.

I really needed a cache today as my caching numbers are so low and I’m getting withdrawals lol! Having done the school run and having an hour up my sleeve, I decided to squeeze in a quick cache. On arrival to gz I sighed and was worried if could take me a while..: but then I thought… think like BernieH, where would he hide it? Thankfully I channeled a likely spot and found it instantly! Thanks for so many awesome hides locally!

I don’t know why but I am absolutely hopeless at this kind of cache, every single time I know exactly what I’m looking for and it almost always ends up taking me ages. This one was no exception.
Eventually I found the well disguised container and got it signed and replaced.
Lots of good memories at this pool from school swimming.
Happy to report that the cache is in good condition and the log nice and dry.

Found at 10:38 AM GAFF3.
Thought I was going to be there for quite some time, but luckily I started to think instead of aimlessly searching and it worked
Thanks BernieH.

Finally doing some caching with day1976, the last lot of caching for the year. As I only had an afternoon free, we kept the caching fairly local to my area. After a little bit of searching I made the find
This cache was found on an enjoyable day caching with ilukaperi. It would be our last caching day for 2022. Hope to have many more in 2023. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache. Sorry for the generic log.
All good to go, now come and find it!

This one took a while as the cache itself blends in so well, but persistence and log payed off in the end.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks for placing this geocache here for us to find today, for without those who like to hide geocaches, there would be nothing around for those who like to find geocaches.

Came with my cousin. Found it after a few minutes. Sneaky little one. As always we forgot our pen.
This one took longer to get my fingers on than the nearby Multiple! What a beautiful colour match. Thanks Bernie.
Today we concentrated on the Local Government Areas of Maroondah and Manningham as we worked towards two challenges. After very heavy overnight rain, we continued to experience periods of heavy rain, light showers and short periods of no rain - testing conditions for a days caching, especially as many areas were very wet, muddy and slippery. We were very pleased that, in the prevailing conditions, we found 26 caches.
There was light drizzle when we went to look for the cache. As there was no obvious spot for the hide, we had to complete a systemmatic search. After about 5 minutes the cache was located. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks BernieH for the cache.

Grub62 and I were on our way to a meeting with a bit of time up our sleeve so a few of our meeting hosts caches were in our sights. This cache took us a bit longer than we thought it would. A very well hidden cache surprisingly. Very clever. TFTC.
Out this way for a meeting today - Bunadoorian and I had a bit of time up our sleeve. I found this well hidden cache first. We see this park on numerous occasions during the year when we come over the road for medical appointments. TFTC and for bringing us here today BernieH
I looked for this in the dark last week with no luck. Today a super quick find. Yay.
Thanks to BernieH for the fun and the adventure.
Thanks to BernieH for the fun and the adventure.
Found on Halloween/day before Cup Day unofficial holiday. Tough little one which although not camouflaged nevertheless blends in really well. Thanks.
When I was waiting for my food order nearby, I looked at previous logs, some said it took a while to find this, so I gave it a go. I found this cache in two minutes. That's great. Thank you, BernieH, for the cache.
No luck tonight, unfortunately! Looking at previous logs seems it might be easier to spot in the daylight so will have to try again another day
Dropped by to grab a quick cache for the day only realise it was not necessarily a quick cache.
I set about looking for the tricky blighter all the while hoping the rain didn’t start again.
It wasn’t too long before I finally spotted it. There was no one at GZ at this time of the afternoon so I was able to sign the log and return it without being spotted.
Thanks BernieH for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to find.

Took us a while to narrow down where this one was, great to be back here after such a long time as my school used to run our swimming carnival here. Tftc !
Have attempted to find this one previously but there were too many muggles or there was work going on, always something to stop us. Today, the find was quickly made and we were on our way again. Thanks for the cache.
This cache was clear at last for us to find. We have visited a couple of times before but haven't been able to look. Happy to say that we were successful this time. Thanks for the cache.
Found with PapaGrouch. After buying some lunch we looked for somewhere to stop and eat, this park was chosen. Once we were heading here I realised there were some caches to find which made it even better. This was the second we searched for. TFTC
It was a beautiful day today, perfect for a bit of caching. A nice quick find today .. don’t you just love it when that happens! I can understand how it could go unseen. thanks BernieH for another cache in the area ..
Don't you just hate it when you spend ages searching for a cache, then read previous logs that call it a "quick, easy find"?
RedCBBlueBM and I had a thorough look here, without success. We then had another thorough search, also unsuccessfully.
I was all for giving up, but stubbornness kept Lynne searching. While I chatted with a passing pet owner, she quietly found the elusive fellow, and signed the log.
I'm sure I looked there!
Thanks BernieH.

Another find while out for the morning with Crustyvarmint. This one took some searching: backwards and forwards and up and down...and then all over again, and again! Finally the sun shone in just the right way and the cache was spotted. Thanks for this one BernieH.
Headed down to Croydon today on a few errands . Had to brighten my day by finding a few caches in the area . Thanks BernieH
TFTC.. 2nd attempt, in daylight this time.. youngest of is found it easily this time, thought that was what we were looking for, just blends in so well.
Staring us right in the face.. Don't know how it took us so long! Thanks BernieH!
A very straightforward find on a chill winter's day! Can't wait till the pool opens for summer, and I can have a swim. TFTC!
The plan for the afternoon was find a few caches including a "non Trad" cache for ** The Non-Traditional Calendar Challenge ** which I have now nearly qualified for and end up at the **Pi Approximation Day** event in Mooroolbark... and with the "non Trad" find taken care of, it was now time to spend the rest of the afternoon chasing down a nice grouping of caches on either side of Mt Dandenong Rd.
After completing the **Croydon Park** multi I had intended to tackle the **Mosaic** multi... but a couple of muggles were sitting right on top of the mosaic. Instead I wandered over to this cache. When I arrived I quickly determined what I probably should be looking for... the challenge was to find it! Unlike a couple previous cachers, I didn't have instant success... but persistence paid off and I got there in the end.
Thanks **BernieH** for another cache in Croydon.

I was in the area today and dropped by this cache before heading home. I parked in Hewish Rd and wandered around the corner to GZ. I did a methodical search of GZ before spotting the shiny cache exactly where my GPSr was saying it was. I waited for some muggles to pass by and then signed the log at 5:10 pm. TNLN.
Thanks BernieH for the well hidden cache and for showing me another of Croydon's gems. Today it was freezing and the pool was closed but when I have been past this large pool on a warm sunny day it has been packed with locals.

Out in the excellent company of echidna44 on what turned out to be a fabulous day weather wise. Sunshine, not too hot or cold unless exposed to the wind, what more could you as in midwinter plus a list of caches to find Arriving here my heart sank but luckily I spotted this well disguised fairly quickly TFTC BernieH
Caching in the eastern suburbs with au.fait, we were clearing out some solved puzzles and newer trads.
Last one for the day. As we arrived we thought this could take a while, but we were fortunate, and found it in no time at all. Thanks BernieH.

This place holds some good memories growing up as a kid. In 1975 I arrived from England at the age of eight, we arrived via the SS Australis owned by Chandris Line, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1Rz5utNIWA Arriving at Station pier, Croydon was the suburb we started our new life in Croydon, first living at my grand parents place on Lincoln road, back then they had an acre block, there are now four houses on that piece of land. we then moved to Sevenoaks Avenue, Croydon in a rental, then we moved to webster avenue our back fence was against Monastry land and we used to play in the grounds of the Monastry and the buildings, the monks had bees and we loved seeing the bee hives, they even had cattle back then, its sad to see it all turned into housing estates now. Our next move was to Kauri Court, Croydon before moving to Millgrove. My Mum worked at Waltons department store in main street Croydon till they closed in 1987, as kids we would always be in Croydon main street. I remember when the cinema used to be in the old hall, first movie I watched was smokey and the bandit, the railway crossing was in a different position to where it is now. We used to play in Croydon park, was not much there compared to now but it had the first spiral slide I had seen and I loved going down it over and over again, The Pool has not changed that much over the years and we had good times there in the summer. So all these caches around Croydon have given me the opportunity to reflect on My early childhood growing here.
Thanks BernieH for the cache.
Thanks BernieH for the cache.
All quiet near GZ and initially the spots I searched did not reveal anything. Fortunately Lyn spotted the small container and were were soon on our way. Thanks to BernieH for the cache.
Found at 2:20 pm.
It was nice to get out for a couple of hours once the rain had finally stopped so I headed out and just went and looked for whatever seemed closest next on the map and was not full of sporting muggles.
Parked down the road in the pool car park and wandered back up here. Luckily I spotted it quite quickly. Sometimes these take a while and it's quite an exposed location.
Thanks BernieH for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

Nice hide. Lovely weather for me out for the day. Thanks BernieH for placing this cache ??
Parking nearby we walked back to GZ past where J' of GJMMelb though the hide might be. After searching for a few minutes J' did end up making the find - the hide type I had suspected it might be although perhaps a little too high for a comfortable T1? No matter, another welcome find on a glorious winter's day.
We met up with quiet1_au for a few hours of caching - this was next and after parking around the corner we wandered back with JMelb predicting where the cache would be … whoops no, not there, still 15m to go lol. Arriving at GZ we looked around JMelb made the find higher than expected. We then deliberated what to do next … wait…. The multi published early this morning still doesn’t have a find … let’s go there!!
