On the way home from a more remote FTF so cleaning up the map a little. Nice drive into a new and interesting area. When I parked i thought of a very obvious hide spot but GPS said look elsewhere so I followed it to a quick find.TFTC and the drive.
Thanks thehunnybunnys for hiding this cache. Now that my calendar and streak are completed, I can just cache for the fun of it. Your Traditional cache, Jolly Roger, was just what I needed to get me out of the house and exercising. This is my find #1819 at 11:37 on 6/7/2024. FTF: Found with: selfWeather: bloody coldMuggles: none Light level: goodCache condition: goodDistance from GZ: Your cache was visited by my trackables: TB9QQD2, TB9KZ39 and TB7HH81
We came south today for three main reasons: to find a multi on 21 November to fill a gap in our calendar; to visit our daughter and her partner; and to attend the Solstice Event tomorrow. The multi we targetted was the Clyde River Platypus Walk at Hamilton. Of course, this trip provided an opportunity to find other caches, particularly from Hamilton to New Norfolk.Today was the first time we had driven into the Black Hills to the north of New Norfolk. We were impressed with the height we gained as we drove up and, in places, the excellent views that we obtained on the Derwent Valley below. We we read the cache name, we thought that this cache may have a pirate theme, but that wasn't the case, the name of the road being the basis for the cache name. Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks thehunnybunnys for the cache and for bringing us to an area we had not visited previously.
We could spot the cache from the road. The drive getting up here was very enjoyable! Thanks for taking us here.
Nice quiet spot.
The hilux loved it coming in from Gretna end.
I'm first to sign in new book.
Love your style

Called by on a cache welfare visit to find that we couldn’t find the cache. Thinking that perhaps the Metamucil container used last time smelt too nice for possums to resist we’ve used a blander smelling container this time..
Found it really easy, it was on the side of the road the container it’s pretty beat up and the lid wasn’t on properly so everything inside was wet
Wow... what awesome views! I loved the house across the paddock, on the New Norfolk end where the bitumen ends. The views from there are incredible!! [^] The drive up and back was fun.
The cache was found quickly and the log was signed at 12:33 on Easter Tuesday 19 April 2022.
(The log book was a bit moist so i provided a plastic bag and replaced the cache and covered well with Natural Camo)

Hello thehunnybunnys thank you for the cache
I found the empty cache container out in the open.
After a little searching I found the log book on the other side of the road.
I put it back in a spot where I thought it should be.

Camping and caching in the old home town. Its a long time since I've walked the streets of Norfik. Visited the memorials for my sister and mother in the columbarium at St Matthews Church, then headed out the Back River where we used to go blackberrying and the berries were as big as squash balls ! Haah ! Well after indulging in some black magic further up the road, we hoisted the jolly roger out of its container and autographed it. All good at GZ so thanks hunnybunnys for the cache.
The first cache of the day on the way to the SSF tree fishing caches. This was a nice alternative route and a quick find. TFTC!

Out for a drive with Stainless steel Rat and Budgietas around this area so we decided to make a slight detour to find this cache. My first for the new year! The name made more sense as we approached

My first cache of the year, so technically I've found a cache everyday of 2022 I wonder how long I can keep this streak going
Today was a nice little drive to see the sights with a Goose and a Budgie and it was nice to find this little cache as we were in the area.

What a great day to be out and about geocaching. It's been a little for me, but with a new addition to the household, it was time to do some geocaching training. With her big brother to show her what to do, the new 16 week old GeoGSP took it all in her stride.
Loved the drive out this way this afternoon, some gorgeous views and everything is soooo green.
A nice quick find at GZ.

Late this afternoon I drove back to Hobart from Launceston having been working up there for the last couple of days. As I was nearing Hobart I realised one of the two new caches that came out yesterday way out the other side of New Norfolk was still unfound. Well given. I had just driven 200Km I pondered could another 80km return be such a big deal!! I picked up TaurusSix who thought it was a good idea too and off we went for a pleasant evening drive . Apart from a couple of short and sharp downpours of rain along the way it was a nice easy drive with not too much traffic . And this time of year with the light nights it makes it ideal for geocaching.
After collecting the FTF cache near Gretna we headed back home via a small divert to collect this second cache that was placed yesterday. A rain shower had just stopped just has we got to this gz , which we thought was good timing. Cache quickly found on this quiet country lane.
Another extra bonus about these two new caches of thehunnybunnies Is that we had not been on either of the two backroads before so more “roads less travelled” which we always enjoy. TFTC

After figuring out how to set up alerts the other day. I thought I better see what all this FTF hype is all about!
What a beautiful drive! Now off to find some more! TFTC!
