Woeful case of cache blindness and time optimism today on my planned kayaking trip. Found a few, couldnt find a few and ran out of time for the rest . Oh well, Ill be back with a better plan and maybe some more geo eyes to help . TFTC
My annual pre Christmas fitness kick has been slowed by a tweaked hamstring, so my usual long Sunday morning bushwalks are out for the time being. However, I have no problems kayaking. There is a nice selection of caches in Bald Hills Creek that I haven't found, so with a favourable early morning high tide, I headed up the highway to Dohles Rock, where after stopping at Osprey House to solve the Adlab bonus coordinates, I lathered up with insect repellent and launched off the stairs to the beach. It was a little choppy on the paddle across the inlet but once in the creek and out of the worst of the wind, it was very pleasant. This was the first kayaking cache for the day. Having conquered the creek, I was now sailing downwind quickly, surfing the waves. By the time I arrived here, the tide was out enough, that I had to actually get out of the yak and walk to the tree. Some useful DT on offer in these parts today. A leisurely 9 kms of paddling over about 3 hours today produced 15 finds, including this one. Many thanks, georodePete#7,532
In January 2023 we did this puzzle in readiness for our next paddle on this river. Nearly a year has passed and were glad to finally find this cache. It was quickly spotted, shining like a little beacon. A little climb and we had the cache in hand. All good here.Thank you.

Day 2 of MegaGOM boating and tree fishing expedition with **bella at waggy**, **Baktrak**, **Purplepeopleater** and an anonymous local.
After some marine engineering and 2 fresh tanks of fuel late yesterday afternoon, MV Grumpy was purring nicely this morning. Unfortunately, we were soon churning up mud at low tide which caused us to revert to human powered craft. Spent another fine day on various waterways.

Up in Brissie with a few geopals and a colourful local for 3 days of water sports, tree fishing and other sundry pursuits after much puzzle-solving, crosschecking and planning. Day 2 and some running repairs to MV Grumpy reduced its attempts at self-immolation and the need for gear-grinding manoeuvres. Day 2 was very much about learning to love mud
We signed with the space-saving and enigmatic anagram “megagom”, in memory of previous exploits.

Day 2 and we thought the MV Grumpy was ready to play nicer today but with some shallow water it was bought back for some running repairs and the yaks dispatched. Now at its second launch location the repairs had somewhat quelled the grumpyness and performed better today.
Some plans where hatched with a local and some Sydney Siders for a 3 day quick caching trip which involved get the boat out, yaks, mud, poles, ladders, trees etc. Plenty of solving was done and routes plotted. The boat, the MV Grumpy lived up to its name with some cantankerous displays and the need for running repairs on serval occasions so our timetable had to be amended on more than one occasion.
Despite the tide we made our way around and also put the yaks to good use in the shallower and narrower areas as planned but also when the MV Grumpy being Grumpy so the arms got more of a workout that expected.
A number of us have thought we have previously been the victims of caching identify theft by that mysterious mob call the GOM’s. As a result and given it felt like a bit if a mega the logs were signed MegaGOM. TFTC

A great paddle around with M65 today, and he knew where it was approximately but the low tide changes perspective on things quite quickly.

I was very apprehensive about finding these caches because of my fear of water but I was able to convince my son that I needed him to come with me. Left home early and in the water in plenty of time to attend an Event first then off we went. Lots small water vessels of all types. I think it was either my 5 or 6 time in the kayak and I wasn't sure what the day would bring. Once everyone met up at GZ for the Event we were soon able to head off to find all the caches around this area.
It turned out a great day with a wet bum and a bit of sunburn on my lips and around my lower face. TFTC

After Pepps's large gathering for his event "For the Love of Tupperware" we set out to nab a few caches in the area.abeck58 and I in the Sante Fe Catering Canoe to offer snacks and a stable mooring platform. Logs today were signed as P.R.I.C.K.S - Pine Rivers Intrepid Canoe and Kayak Squadron in order to not take up all of the logging space, to save ink and so the scribers don't have RSI by the end of the day, we are a rather large group after all. Thanks for placing these caches.
Out with an intrepid bunch of kayakers, canoers, a paddle board and a tinnie.Commonly referred to as P.R.I.C.K.S. We had all attended an Event, proudly hosted by Peppa, on the River not far from the Tinchi Tamba boat ramp. There was a catering canoe offering an assortment of delicacies to the fleet. We had a great day on the water. patrol14 even managed to catch a catfish. TFTC.
After attending Peppa's "For the Love of Tupperware" event this morning, our flotilla of kayaks, canoe, stand-up paddle board and tinny made our way along the waterway to the new caches around Tinchi Tamba wetlands and Bald Hills Creek.
Being in the tinny and at low tide, we didn't quite make it into shore to retrieve this one as it a little shallow but someone in a kayak and tree fishing pole did the honours. Log signed as P.R.I.C.K.S. to save space.
While waiting to move onto the next cache, TMZ59 and I happily spent the time fishing (fish fishing) but only caught one catfish.

Loved this little series and the creek they were on. I had a really enjoyable day kayaking on the Pine River with a bunch of PRICKS, who turned out to be quite a large group of cachers. We took turns at the finding and signing of logs on behalf of everyone and had lots of laughs along the way. I love a jigidi puzzle and this one was just the right amount of annoying challenge to size ratio Thanks Georode for putting these here and adding to our awesome day.
An event in the water with caching afterwards. What a great morning.
Lots of Tupperware to pick up for either another loop or another challenge. Log was group signed.

I was pretty slow solving this jigidi, but it was done at some point prior to today. I have a love/hate relationship with jigidi’s.
I had an enjoyable and successful caching day today, along with quite a few other kayaking cachers. Puzzles, trads, adventure lab bonuses, good D/T combos, sunshine, warm water: today had it all.
Thanks for contributing significantly to our enjoyment today, georode

I solved this jigsaw couple of months ago but waited for an opportunity to join a group to paddle this way.
After the event "For the love of Tupperware" from Peppa, we paddled along the Pine River to get those Tupperwares down to sign the log with P.R.I.C.K.S.
It was an awesome day for the 12- km-, some searches took longer, some were spotted from the kayak.

I had solved this puzzle not too long after it came out, but, being a novice kayaker, was waiting for an invite from some more experienced kayers to go and make the find.
During the week, that invitation happened. I thought there were to be five of us, so was surprised that there were a few more. {:)}
The little flotilla set off on their way. This was the first stop of the morning It was quickly spotted. Tool deployed and our names were added to the log under a group name. TFTC

Last day of holidays for me and a morning of caching was on the cards. That would give me the whole afternoon to tick off those Christmas jobs I promised to do.
With the new publishing of a mystery series the night before, I turned my mind to answering the questions and after a little while I had a series of coordinates and an agenda to find some caches today.
David Wazza and I teamed up for a paddle and we headed off from the boat ramp at Dohles Rocks Road at 7:30am.
This was the first cache of the day. I had solved coordinates from a jigsaw completed quite a while ago. How fortunate that I hadn’t found this as yet.
Wazza had already found this one so a simple looking tree climb had to be undertaken. Cache was spotted quite quickly. The climb was fine, the logbook extraction simple, the signing a breeze. On the way down I initially missed my footing so dangled for a bit. Back in the kayak Wazza inquired, “ was that a difficult climb or did you make it difficult? It was definitely a bit of both.
Thanks very much for the cache placement and puzzle Georode. Haven’t been to this spot before, but may return. A lot of fun. Cheers

I love a jigsaw and this one did take me awhile to complete. Today my muggle friend and i decided to take the yaks out to find the 4 caches around here. We met at Brighton park and this was our third cache to find for today. I love a tree climb and this was an easy cache to spot in the light of day. Thanks for all the fun. Giving it a FP for all the fun when i have one to give.
Dora the Explorer!, Phil Serenity and I decided to take a tinny out today and grab some caches about 7kms down the river however the engine played not nice and we only got about 100m so we turned around and put the tinny back on its trailer. Since we had travelled this distance, we could not leave without grabbing some nearby caches. After walking for about 9.5 klms and some of it through mangroves, all the caches available were found. The walk was just after high tide so everything was muddy and slippery however it was still a fun adventure. Thanks to the CO's for placing and maintaining these caches.
Found with burgo when he was down to get some good targets.

Down in Brisbane for the weekend for a network meeting on Monday meant I was able to tee up some playtime with the Bug to target my 9th and 10th loops.
This was the 1 of 17 targets for the weekend. With limited time, tides had not been considered so we made the mistake of attempting on a low, dropping tide. The mud made some of these very challenging but added to the adventure. At points during the day we were thigh deep and crawling! We ended up looking like black and white minstrels.
Another relatively clean collect.
Thanks georode for creating and placing this for us to enjoy.

I think this one was blissfully solved when the tamper monkey cheat was working.
T-tech did the signing honours here too I think. I did climb bit, not to a dolphin.

Today T-Tech and I met up at Dohles Rocks boat ramp with teamdfl, La Kedi, DisSister and JustEmmy to collect the geocaches on the water. We opted for the long paddle back to Tinchi Tamba first as the tide was heading in for another hour. Then we followed the tide back out gathering all the others on the way. After 9kms of paddling I had 6 smileys

Time to find a few caches while I am in town.
A lovely walk at low tide to this one.

I had a frustrating morning wrestling with the software I use for work so when M suggested I go for a paddle on Pine River this afternoon, I certainly wasn't going to refuse such a generous offer! . He dropped me off at Deep Water Bend boat ramp and promised to be waiting at Brighton Park when I got there. What a sweetie!
I'm not a keen tree climber, especially when I'm all alone, but I wasn't going past this one without at least trying so up I went. Success!

Having this one solved not long after it’s release we were glad to finally tick the found box on this one
Muggle65 and l have had this one ready to go for a while but we never seemed to get out here. Today we had another nearby cache ready to grab as well so it was great to get two birdies with one stone. And l got to go up a tree. I really do love climbing a tree. Thank you so much for the fun
Out with Karicka and Green Cordial in the tinny on this beautiful autumn day. This one was much easier to spot than the previous one and a quick easy climb had our names in the log. Congrats to Green Cordial on completing her first D/T loop. Thanks for the cache
Greencordial contacted me asking for a lift here, and as it was on my list too I was happy to get the tinny wet, first time this year. As I and BM75 have had plans for these 3 caches earlier (was it covid that changed that?) we had a full boat. Set out from Deep water bend, after turning around in the creek we soon arrived here.
This was a quick one to spot!
Thank you Georode for hiding these high D/T caches

Now, I got karicka to take a photo of me here being a hardcore looper …. Dirtbag…. Who me!!!! but he didn’t take as detailed photo as BenM70 would where I could get three photos … one of me failing, one of me looking terrified and one of me with the log. That’s why you are my bestie Karicka. No one needs to see that many photos of me.

Up in Qld for a few days with the extended family after many postponed trips. Decided to take a chance for a much needed break and catch-up. Organised a day outing with Nyssaflutterby, gave her the organising duty and did she do well!
A day kayaking and I was told that the tide would be perfect, which it was. We had an amazing adventure, when don’t we with Nyssa. We had a plan A and Plan B organised, of course weather and wind would determine our decision. A quick check of the water early by Nyssa and thumbs up for Plan A.
Met early at the boat ramp and the 2 kayaks arrived a little later and off we went. Nyssa decided that she needed a tree climb today so this was it! Up she went in no time, a great climb, puzzle and adventure.
TFTC
PS. As we returned to the yaks and desperately trying to avoid all the sand banks, a boat nearby was waving to us so we headed their way! They told us that they were in trouble as they were stuck on the banks and their engine wasn’t working. Their request was for us to head to shore and alert a person in a tinnie that this boat was stuck! Lady membsec did the honour of heading to the ramp while Nyssaflutterby continued on. Once Lady membsec got help, she headed back to Nyssaflutterby. But Nyssa said that it was too muddy for the other 2 caches so back to the boat ramp we went.

It was great to get out on the water today with the Rainbow Flotilla. The winds meant our journey took a little more effort but the company and caches more than made up for it.
I was lucky that one of the junior DisSisters loves jigsaw puzzles and had put the effort in to complete this one.
A nice quick find, as I glanced in just the right direction to see the cache as soon as I arrived. Pprime performed the necessary gymnastics to retrieve the logbook for us all. TFTC georode

A lovely quiet morning for a paddle. The tide was high as we set out and although we have paddled on various parts of the Pine River, we had never put the boat in right at the spot.
A few fishermen were spotted along the way and a couple of kayaking parties.
With the jigsaw solved some time ago, it was lovely to be out and collect a smiley on this one.
Thanks Georode

The third find of the day for me, and shamelessly taking advantage of my niece having solved the jigsaw! The mangroves were a bit tighter here, and there was definitely not enough room for all seven kayaks, so we were quite strung out before DisSister spotted this one. P’Prime again did the honours, though not with his TOTT this time! TFTC, georode. =^.^=
I had an unexpected invite to a kayaking adventure with the Rainbow Flotilla 2022, and I was very pleased that I was free for today, and able to participate It has been far too long since I had last been out for an adventure with the kayak, and gliding along had me remembering why I enjoy being on the water so much
I had insufficient time from the invite to complete the jigsaw, however it is currently a work in progress [^]

Early morning start for the Rainbow Flotilla 22 season with 7 cachers out in 6 yaks. This was the second find for the day for me ( others in the groups had a few more to pick up).
I arrived first and spent way too long looking in all the wrong places until I eventually saw the light.
Nice morning out on the water and although the southerly blowing up the river was quite strong we all managed to stay upright and importantly return safely.

Had my sights set on this one today. Needed it for my DT grid. Beautiful morning for a yak and the climb was within my abilities. All and all a satisfying morning.
I'm never a fan of Jigidi puzzles - in my opinion, they consume time without acquiring any set of skills or knowledge, but I do acknowledge that others tend to enjoy moving the pieces around and the clicking sound when two pieces are joined is strangely satisfying. Thankfully, someone else within our adventure group enjoyed the Jigidi puzzle more than me, so I was a passenger for this puzzle's coordinates.
Today, I joined Davinells and Peppa for a late morning kayak on Pine River. We had plans to kayak Hays Inlet, but with strong winds, we quickly abandoned that idea to paddle from Dohles Rocks. I had previously paddled the inlet of Bald Hills Creek, but there were new tree fishing geocaches since my last visit.
Following our rough water paddle, I left the group to then find a few other geocaches in the area, and then driving north to find a few of the *Road to the cup* series geocaches around Griffin. With a few hours left of my day, I then proceeded west to Kallangur and Murrumba Downs, where I enjoyed a nice walk in John Oxley Reserve.
Our view of the inlet/river from Dohles Rocks didn't make the kayaking adventure too appealing, and we were discussing the poor weather conditions during the morning, but with Davinells bringing her kayak all the way from Toowoomba, we had a false sense of sunk cost, to then go forward with our boating. There were some white caps around the place, but we were hopeful that once we made our way across, it would be more sheltered and out of the wind (of which it was). Perhaps the hardest part was launching and paddling from shore, with the waves/winds blowing us back against a concrete barrier. It was Peppa's inflatable kayak that was most at risk, and there was a moment where we thought about making the call to abandon our expedition, but we pushed ahead, and well, it wasn't too bad.
We continued our paddle along the river, and called into this location. With two hands to be able to ascend the tree (not needing the fishing TOTT), I soon pulled myself to the cache container, where we subsequently undertook signing duties. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks georode for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

I saw this puzzle come out not too long ago so I solved the jigsaw, but wasn’t sure when I’d have the chance to get it. Good thing I had it solved because our original plans today changed and we ended up here, collecting caches along the pine river.
After exiting the still waters of Bald hills creek the wind picked up in bursts and made it a little rocky.
As Davidwazza arrived at the GZ first, he took on the climbing duties. Thanks to a high tide and his long legs it wasn’t a tough climb and soon the official duties were complete.
It was a great paddle with great company and a great plan B. Tftc georode

After leaving the tranquil waters of Bald Hills Creek we were back onto the Pine River…
There was much discussion about jigidi’s and the number of them that form the basis for puzzles at the moment… that didn’t stop us here and soon spotting the cache…
David “The Lone Wolf” wazza was up the tree in no time…
A really enjoyable paddle with great company… I’m glad I persevered…
There was much discussion about jigidi’s and the number of them that form the basis for puzzles at the moment… that didn’t stop us here and soon spotting the cache…

Spotted quickly at GZ, but the retrieval made for some interesting poses

Was invited to join TeamARF, Woodyrothwell, ESCR and KerriMG for a spot of yaking and fishing. The homework had been completed before launch so I was armed with the corrected coords. Lovely paddle and the cache was quickly spied. Woodyrothwell took one for the team and tackled the climb, and while I had the camera ready for any mishaps he did it in style with no Kodak moments captured. TFTC and puzzle georode
A yaking & fishing adventure this morning with TeamARF, woodyrothwell, nikid1 & EatSleepCacheRepeat - log signed as KWENT.
As I was a late entrant for today I hadn't solved the jigsaw as yet (but I will do as I love jigsaws - even got a real one for Christmas!) so tagged along with the others to GZ. Woodyrothwell spotted this one & earned himself a climb as reward. No doubt the climb was shorter than usual due to our starting height from the yak on the king tide.
Thanks for the paddling fun georode.

One of the New Years resolutions I made for 2022 was to tackle some tree climbs when out paddling with TeamARF. The other resolution I made was to stop posing for nude paintings in random locations even if no one in the vicinity is actually painting. So maybe the second resolution has already been broken, but I can at least try to stick to the first one.
Some say that you are never to old to learn, no matter how much the government tries to trick us into edumacation. I learnt something on this climb but before I could remember it I had to make space in the old noggin by forgetting a whole bunch of other stuff. Unfortunately one of those things was my pin number.
What I learnt today is that it’s probably best not to climb a tree in pants without pockets. You need to be able to stash things like cache lids and pens whilst holding on for dear life. There are only so many things that you can fit in your mouth, even if that information conflicts with what I tell Mrs Woodyrothwell. Thankfully nothing was dropped except the trackable in the cache that was dropped into someone’s kayak. tftc

Should have read the description properly as I was expecting another tree fish. Arriving at GZ the cache was spotted quickly and Woody volunteered to monkey up the tree.
First his phone was bequeathed to ESCR in case he didn't return. All his other worldly goods stored on the yak were fair game for the quickest. I sidled up to Woody's yak and secured it as he struggled to elevate himself up the tree.
I had the ladies prepared to photograph Woody's entry into the water and brace themselves for the resulting tsunami while I held onto his yak.
As Woody threw his leg over a tree branch, I really wasn't prepared for the loose short leggings opening up and the unobstructed view of the family jewels. Two days into the new year and I've already failed with one of my NY resolutions. It's going to be a long year. Look forward to capturing a few more of your caches georode, good work.

Just down over the new year break trying to pick up my next loop and clear a few of Keiren’s challengers from my to do list. Did the jigsaw not long after it came out in my usual slow pace. Collecting a valuable 4.5/4.5 DT as i know when I started how far I had to go to get one of these. Seems things don’t change too much. Thanks for a paddle on a somewhat windy day. I’m guess the trip back will be quicker with the wind behind me. Not too far anyway. Cheers georode. Hope to catch you at the CiTO with the questionable use of the guidelines.
Took me ages to solve the puzzle then the requires effort to get out here for signing. So worth it. Such a great day out.

This was the milestone cache for Ardom so up he went whilst I tried to hold his yak! Great fun morning !
A great morning for a paddle! Makes up for that awful jigsaw... A quick climb and all was signed. TFTC!
This cache marks my completion of a puzzle cache find on every calendar day!

A lovely paddle to get the morning started right. Had to be quick as it’s family Christmas at lunch, so it was straight to the must get today for Ardom to achieve particular stat he was after. Good thing too as it meant he was up the tree! I hadn’t launched my kayak from this spot before and hubby plans to come take the kids fishing from here now.
Today I finally got to complete this jigsaw and those waves were the hardest, I think I'd definitely be at the bottom of the leaderboard with 2hr 54 min. I was fortunate enough to company the CO and E_Smiley when this was placed during a nice paddle around North Pine River. We paddled from Dohles Rocks Rd boat ramp, it was a very calm and clear day then it only started to get a tad windy as we were returning where we packed up and enjoyed some nice refreshments at the corner kiosk. Really enjoy tree fishing caches although ones on the water can sometimes become a challenge for me with fears of dropping log sheets/containers in the water
Thanks for the great adventure CO

D 4.5 T 4.5 Regular Mystery Cache
Thanks for the cache and taking us here georode. Enjoyed placing the cache with you and Snickersallan. Took 2 hours and 15 minutes to do the puzzle! My arm hurts! I'd rather kayak!
Found 03 November 2021 not FTF.

After Nikid1's fabulous 50 event, I had packed the kayak to accompany chamad on an adventure on the high seas! It was quite windy by our launch time of 12.15, but surprisingly we made an easy trip across the water and out of the wind.
This one was in a cool spot, the cache was found after some initial confusion, we had assumed it was another tree fish. We then quickly readjusted our search area and quickly came up with the cache. Log signed, all replaced as found.

It was going to be a fun day of caching today, there is a big mixture of caches and types today. A CITO to start with then a birthday event, followed by some kayaking caches. Then a drive around to grab a few on my hit list before heading to my last event of the day, phew.
After this morning’s events Willis007 and I headed off to grab a few kayaking caches. The area of interest was the new caches off Dohles rocks road. These were an easy paddle over to and some fun in the wind and incoming tide. Once over to the other side it was nice as we were sort of protected from the wind.
This was a nice jigsaw to complete, once completed I was given some coordinates for another paddle cache. After our first cache, we headed up for this one, so many dolphins living in trees lately. We found the cache and after a little climb, we had the log in hand. STF on this one and then replaced all and then made our way to the next paddle cache
Thanks for the puzzle and climb, very enjoyable.

Finally a FTF came available for me to get. Wasn’t available for other FTF. I was trying to keep my monthly streak alive. Only few day left in the month.
My daughter and I work on the jigsaw.
With high tide wasn’t to 3pm the next day. So stood a chance to get it.
Now what time to launch my kayak. Do I go early or not. Of course yes I will.
Got to GZ at 11am and it took 30 minutes to find it.
I climb the tree to get the cache and found a empty log bar the beta tester. Yippee
Now of to grab the other caches close by.
